This is my second fanfic. Hope you guys like it because I think Artemis makes Percy's life interesting.
Third Person POV
The thick woods on the Island of Delos was bursting with life. Deers and squirrels made their way around the trees. The dew drops glittered in the morning sun.
3 feet away from a clearing, where a small group of deers were currently resting, a finger notched back an arrow on her bow. She took careful aim, and was about to shoot when a boy bursted into the clearing. Instantly, the deer bolted. The boy continued to run, only to run right into the 6-day old girl who was crouching in the bushes. The boy gave a yelp of surprise as he fell on top of the surprised girl. The boy got up and rubbed his head.
"Sorry about that." he said, sheepishly.
"You scared away the deer!" the young girl shouted at teh boy.
"What's-" the boy started before the girl bursted into tears.
"Now I don't have anything for my mother to eat!" the girl wailed.
The young boy crouched down and patted her back. "It's ok, I can get food for you."
The girl looked up. "Really?" she asked.
The boy nodded. "I can get food, it's one of my powers. My name is Percy, what's yours?"
"Artemis", she said, getting up.
"Where's your mother?" Percy asked.
"Follow me", Artemis replied, and together, they ran out of the forest.
They raced through the forest, before they bursted into a meadow, where Artemis ran towards a small cave. Percy followed suit. When Percy walked in, he saw a woman with a big stomach resting in the cave.
Catching sight of Percy, the lady tried to stand up, but she fell to the ground.
"It's ok mommy, he's a friend. Percy said he can bring food." Artemis says, helping her mother up.
Percy didn't hesitate before he summoned a piece of deer meat, which he held out to Artemis. Artemis happily tore it in half and fed it to her mother, before eating a piece herself.
"This tastes so good! Where did you get it?" Artemis asked, still chewing.
'Don't talk while you chew, Artemis!" the woman exclaimed. "I'm Leto, the mother of Artemis."
Percy nodded. "My mother is Hestia, she is the goddess of home-cooked food, so I can summon food whenever I want."
"That's so cool! I bet you'll never be hungry." Artemis said. They ate in silence for a bit, and Percy summoned more food for them.
"Why are you guys here?" Percy asked.
"Mommy says there's a person looking for us. We have to stay away to be safe. So we hid here." Artemis responded before Leto could stop her. Leto sighed.
"I like this place, I always sneak here when momma isn't looking, it's so fun in this forest!" Percy said.
"How old are you?" Leto asked. Percy counted on his fingers.
"I'm 9 days old!" Leto widened in shock.
"You need to go back to your mother now! Do you have any idea how worried she'll be?" Leto scolded Percy.
"Ok!" Percy said, putting on his sad face. "See you tomorrow Arty! I think your momma has a baby, too." With that, he left.
Artemis's eyes widened. "That means I have a baby brother!" she cried happily.
Leto smiled, amused. "Arty, huh? That's a cute name you know. Maybe I should call you that", she said, patting Artemis' head. She pouted before lying down next to her mother.
Third Person POV
Percy ran through the forest and swam across the bay to the other side. A woman was walking through fields, looking for her missing son. Percy smiled before sneaking up to her, but before he could shout, the woman turned around and wrapped her arms around him, making him scream.
"There's my naughty boy!" Hestia said, tickling Percy while he laughed.
"Mo-oo-m, st-o-op!" he said while laughing. Hestia picked him up.
"We need to go home now." Hestia said. She carried Percy and flashed to her palace on , where she snapped her fingers and instantly cleaned Percy up, before she tucked him in bed.
"Sleep, my little one", she whispered, kissing Percy's forehead, before she left to the hearth.
Percy's POV
The Sun beamed through the bedroom window. 7:43AM, I thought to myself. I quickly jumped out of bed and got dressed, and brushed my teeth. Mother would be mad if I didn't. I opened the door to the hallway and looked both ways. None.
I can go before mommy wakes up!I thought. I creeped down the hallway and reached the doors. Just as I was about to go outside when someone grabbed me.
"Where do you think you're going?" came the voice of my mother. I frowned and turned around.
"Please!" I begged. "I found my first friend yesterday and I want to see her."
My mom sighed. "Ok, but be back by 6 PM sharp." I nodded , and she quickly let me go as I ran down the mountain side. On the way to the island, I picked up pretty flowers as a gift to Artemis. I skipped along before I reached the familiar seaside and I quickly swam over it with the flowers in the magic pouch my mom gave me. I reached the forest, and quickly raced through it, and I spotted Artemis crouched under a bush again. I grinned and creeped up on her and then clapped my hands on her shoulders. She screamed and fell forward, as I laughed at her response. She turned around and glared at me.
"What was that for!" Artemis yelled at me. I cowered back.
"Sorry." I said, and she smirked at me.
"I've never seen any 7 day old person as scary as you", I said as I shuddered. Artemis smiled and grabbed my hand.
"Come on!", she shouted, and we ran through the forest, like yesterday. I approached the familiar cave, and waved at Artemis's mom. I went inside and summoned more food for her to eat, but she shook her head.
"Let's play!" Artemis said, and we ran into the meadow. She jumped me and I fell on the floor.
"That was for scaring me", she said. We collapsed on the grass. I reached into my puch and brought out the flowers.
"Artemis, for you!" I said proudly. She smiled and stuck them in her hair. We ran around, chasing each other until I heard a wail of pain from the cave. My eyes widened along with Artemis, and she quickly ran into the cave.
"Percy called for help!" she said quickly. I ran outside and shouted, "Mother!"
My mother appeared quickly in front of me.
"What's wrong baby boy?" she asked.
" I pointed towards the cave. She hurried towards the cave and I followed her. As we reached the cave, I heard a wail. I walked in to see Artemis holding a naked baby in her hands. My mother quickly took the baby from Artemis and wrapped him with a white cloth. She took the baby to Artemis's mom.
Leto looked down at the baby, her face filled with sweat, and my mom wiped it off.
"A boy, Leto." she said. "What would you like to name him?"
"Apollo", Leto gasped. "Apollo"
