Foreword.
Hi reader,
Thank you for your interest in my work. I wanted to thank you and drop by to say that you are a wonderful person! I also wanted to introduce myself.
My name is Cookie, the author of this book, Jake & Dakota (Inspired by the hit reality TV show, Love Island). It's not my real name, just my nickname, and for those of you meeting me for the first time : my pronouns are she/they.
A lot of things have been happening this unfortunate year and the year prior, with Covid-19, Britain officially leaving the European Union, and many others to name. So I had a lot of time on my hands, and that's when I found Love Island.
I fell in love with the cast of the latest season and I have been going back through the seasons to have a fresh mind, and to also pass time. One day while watching an advert popped up for a mobile game version of the show, but I thought nothing of it and just clicked through the adverts. But then they kept coming back, so I gave in and downloaded it.
I fell in love with the game immediately and when I finally got the chance to couple up with Jake Wilson, I was hooked, and in love, and pain from #Cherrygate (flip off, Levi!) so I began thinking what it would be like to be with Jake from the beginning.
And so here I am, one year later (three years after this season was published), writing love stories about fictional men and one man who can do no wrong.
