Wandering around in the streets of Burbank, California were Animaniacs stars Rita and Runt, a dog-and-cat duo. They were scouring the streets looking for food, shelter, and most importantly, a home.

"Gee, Rita, we're gettin' paid. Definitely, definitely, gettin' paid." Runt said.

"I still don't understand why. We're not even in the reboot, but hey, I'm not complaining!" Rita said.

"Yeah, all hard work pays off." Runt said.

Rita cracked a smile. "Okay, I'm not gonna lie to you, that was actually kind of clever." she said.

Suddenly, the two a figure walk towards them. They could only see the shadows. Then, the figure came closer and revealed itself to be a purple cat wearing a pink scarf, walking elegantly.

"Rita, who's that?" Runt asked.

"I don't know, let's find out." Rita said.

Rita and Runt approached the cat, with it having a reserved expression on its face.

"Uh, hi. We saw you coming towards us, so that caught our attention." Rita said.

"Oh, it's no problem at all. My name is Grace." Grace said.

"Hi, nice to meet you. I'm Runt, and this is Rita." Runt said.

"Well, hello, Runt and Rita. It's nice to be acquainted with you two." Grace said.

Grace had a thick British accent (not like Wakko's), which threw Rita and Runt for a loop.

"Yeah...quick question: where are you from?" Rita asked.

"London, England. I moved here to Burbank around a month ago." Grace said.

"Where are your owners?" Runt asked.

"I don't have any." Grace said.

"Then how did you get here from London?" Rita asked.

"I snuck onto an airplane one second before it took off." Grace said.

"Well, that explains everything! Rita, I think we should take her in. Definitely, definitely, we should take her in." Runt said.

"I don't know, Runt. She looks kinda...flakey." Rita said.

"I wouldn't mind being your friend. After all, it is pretty lonely without someone to talk to." Grace said.

Rita's subconscious was getting the best of her. "Well...alright! Grace, you're officially part of the group." she said.

"Oh, joy! We're going to have so much fun together." Grace said.

"What are we standing around here for? Let's go find food!" Runt said.

Later that day, Rita, Runt, and Grace began their search for food. Aside from that, the trio chatted with each other.

"Hey, Grace?" Rita asked.

"Yes?" Grace asked.

"Remember how you said you didn't have any owners? Well, me and Runt are the same way." Rita said.

"Interesting. Also, you made a grammar error." Grace said.

"I did?" Rita asked, confused.

"Yes. You said 'me and Runt', when you should have said 'Runt and I'." Grace said.

"Well, I'll take that into consideration, then." Rita said. She then rolled her eyes when Grace wasn't looking.

"I found food!" Runt said, pointing to fresh fish laying on a table.

Rita and Runt licked their lips, wide-eyed. Grace was confused.

"I know that cats eat fish, but do dogs do the same?" Grace asked.

"At this point, I can eat anything." Runt said.

"It's true. He gets like that when he's hungry." Rita said.

Grace sighed. "To each his own." she said.

The trio waited for the person guarding the table to go away. When the moment came, Rita and Runt ran over to the fish, while Grace walked.

"Come to papa!" Runt said, and began to chow down, only for Grace to stop him.

"Hold on!" Grace said.

"What now?" Rita asked, annoyed.

"That's not how you are supposed to eat. You are supposed to eat like this." Grace said.

Grace showed the pair her way of eating, which was more elegant and slow.

"Hey, uh, Runt, can I talk to you in private for a sec?" Rita asked.

"Sure, Rita." Runt said.

Rita pulled her partner to the side and said "We gotta do something about Grace."

"Why? She's just being polite." Runt said.

"No, she's being a control freak. First, she corrects my grammar, and then she tells you how to eat. You call that being polite? I don't think so." Rita said.

"Gee, Rita, you're absolutely right! Definitely, definitely, right. I never noticed until now." Runt said.

"As with a lot of things." Rita said.

Rita and Runt went back to the table where Grace was waiting.

"What did you two talk about?" Grace asked.

"Oh uh...we were just discussing how glad we are to have you as a friend." Rita lied, smiling nervously.

"Well, thank you very much! People don't usually give me compliments." Grace said.

"I'm not surprised." Runt said so only Rita could hear. She snickered.

"What's so funny?" Grace said.

"Nothing!" Rita lied.

The trio continued eating the fish, but they did it Grace's way so they wouldn't have to be reminded again. After that, the trio began walking down the street.

"You know, you really should pick up your feet when you walk. It prevents tripping." Grace said.

"There you go again!" Rita said, frustrated.

"What?" Grace said.

"You're telling us what we can and can't do. It's getting on our nerves." Rita said.

"Yeah! And I'm usually pretty patient with people." Runt said.

"I'm so sorry! I didn't know I was being an inconvenience." Grace said.

"Yeah, well, people don't like it. How would you feel they did the same? In fact, you should go back where you belong!" Rita said.

Suddenly, Grace broke down crying and ran away, her feelings visibly hurt.

"Gee, Rita, I didn't know you had that in you." Runt said.

"I didn't either..." Rita said, feeling guilty. She then continued walking.

"Where are you going?" Runt said.

"To find Grace and apologize to her. You coming?" Rita asked.

"Definitely, definitely coming with you." Runt said.

XXXXXX

The pair started their search for the purple cat.

"Grace? Grace, where are you?" Rita called out.

Runt whistled a couple times, which annoyed Rita.

"We're looking for Grace, not Lassie." Rita said.

"Sorry, Rita." Runt said.

Suddenly, the pair heard the sound of someone crying in the distance, catching their attention.

"That has to be Grace! I wonder where she could be." Rita said.

"Looks like it's coming from that alley. Definitely, definitely, the alley." Runt said.

"Wow, Runt, you're actually right for once." Rita said, impressed.

The pair followed the trail of Grace crying down an alley and saw her curled up in a ball. They approached her.

"Grace, are you okay?" Rita asked.

"Go away! I don't belong here." Grace said.

"Come on, I felt bad for what I said to you. I really did. I want to apologize." Rita said.

"There's no need. Nobody likes me, anyway." Grace said.

"That's not true. I like you, Runt likes you." Rita said.

"Really?" Grace asked.

"Yes." Rita said.

"Then why did you tell me to go back where I belong?" Grace asked.

"Because...I was mad. But I'm not anymore." Rita said.

Grace wiped away her tears. "Well, so be it. By the way, I have a confession to make." she said.

"What is it?" Rita asked.

"I didn't just move here so I could find new place to explore. I ran away from home." Grace said.

"Why?" Rita asked.

"Because my owners were driving me crazy! Always treating me like I was special for being different. I grew tired of it." Grace said.

"I can relate to that...hey, wait a minute! I thought you said you didn't have any owners." Rita said.

"I lied about that, too." Grace said.

"I see. Any more secrets you wanna share?" Rita asked.

"No." Grace said.

"Well, it's settled! And Grace, I'm sorry for being such a jerk to you earlier. I don't know what I was thinking." Rita said.

"It's okay, and I'm sorry for being a control freak." Grace said.

"Eh, don't worry about it! It's all good." Rita said.

"You know, I have a playful side for being an elegant cat." Grace said.

"Wait, Grace was a cat this whole time?! I thought she was a dog!" Runt said.

Rita facepalmed as the camera faded out.

That's the end of the story! Also, I know you guys probably wanted Rita to sing, but I couldn't think of a song. Anyway, let me know your thoughts by reviewing. Until next time, chao!
