Mary had bought a yoga instruction record a few days ago. It was now Saturday. She had just finished breakfast and wanted to try out yoga. So she put the record on the turntable. Then she slipped her shoes off, lied on the floor close to the speakers, and began exercising. Occasionally, she consulted the booklet that came with the record to make sure she was doing it correctly.

A woman walked into the apartment. Seeing Mary, she crept behind the couch to watch her.

One of the poses required Mary to sit with her legs straight out in front of her. Smiling, the woman crept closer to Mary—and tickled her foot!

"Aagh!" she cried, then she looked at the intruder. "Rhoda!"

"Hi, kiddo! Watcha doing?"

"It's called yoga."

"Oh, yeah! Listen, I'm doing a little shopping today, and I was wondering if you might like to join me."

"Sounds fun. But let me finish this, first. I had promised myself I would try and get into this."

"Sure, kiddo. Let me just sit on the couch and watch you."

"I have a better idea, Rhoda: Why don't you join me."

"Sure, why not!"

She took her shoes off near Mary's, then joined her on the carpet. For the next several minutes, they did the exercise together. The side eventually ended, so Mary got up and turned it over.

"I must say, this is very relaxing," said Rhoda.

"Yes, it is."

"And I'm not building up much of a sweat. That means I won't need to change my clothes!"

"That's right!"

They continued their yoga for the 20 minutes of the record. Afterwards, Mary turned off the turntable and stored the record in its cover.

"That was fun; let's do this every Saturday."

"Good idea, Rhoda."

"Now, are you ready to shop?"

"Sure am!"

They put their shoes back on and left.
