A/N: This is the 2nd of a series of sporadic one-shots that will explain certain parts of Will of a Champion, the main story on my profile. So with that being said, this is the story of how Bede got kicked out of the Gym Challenge and how he responds to why he got kicked out. A different take compared to the canon incarnations (SwSh & Adventures) got their Gym Challenge revoked. So I hope you enjoy it.

Fifty Shades of Pink

"Do you know why we called you to Hammerlocke, Mr. Bede?"

"No," Bede said to the council he was in front of pretty bluntly. As far as he was concerned, he did nothing wrong whatsoever. He didn't destroy any ancient murals, nor did he break any laws. Unless crushing the hopes and dreams of anyone who opposes him, is against the law. It isn't his fault that those weaklings had no spine. If they thought everything was like a kodomo anime, then they have absolutely no business being a Pokémon Trainer. Only the strong can survive, which is probably why the Chairman endorsed him. Shame the Chairman was too weak.

"You have been disqualified from the Gym Challenge," the head councilman said.

"What? Why?" Bede questioned in disbelief.

"Simple Mr. Bede, it's because your sponsor had been pulled from the list of sponsors," one of the councilmembers said.

"Can't I continue without one?" Bede asked.

"No. As you should know, this decision was not made lightly. But the Galar League is one of the top primer leagues in the world, and as such it is important to the reputation of Galar, that we cannot allow any trainer without a sponsor compete," another one of the council spoke.

"Can I not get someone else to endorse me, for the reminder of the season?" Bede desperately asked.

"It is too late into the season, hand over the challenge star on your way out. You are dismissed," the head councilman spoke.

"Bu…" Bede pleaded but was shot down immediately by another, you are dismissed. It was at this moment that Bede swore vengeance at the people who stole his chances at proving he was the strongest trainer in the world. He decided to do some research on the Darkest Day.

Though as he was leaving Hammerlocke Stadium, a certain "sixteen-year-old" took notice in him.

Meanwhile, Ash and Co. were traveling throughout the Galar Region, much like the "good ole days" as Ash would put it. Apparently, there was a World Coronation Series Tournament open to those in the Normal and Great Class, being hosted in some remote stadium in the Wild Area. While Goh was hunting down several Galarian Pokémon to add to his Dex, Chloe was just watching Goh doing his catching thing. Ash on the other hand was just doing some special training with his Pokémon.

"So here is the goal, Gengar," Ash said as he explained his madness, "You are going to try to catch all of us, me, Pikachu, Dragonite, Lucario, Sirfetch'd, and Dracovish. However, you can't use any of your moves, plus we get a ten second head start. Same goes for the rest of you, we are trying to work on speed."

"Ready, steady, GO!" Ash said, as Gengar started counting down from 10, while Ash and his Pokémon made a mad dash towards the open forest. Once Gengar finished counting he was off to the races, where he quickly caught Ash, trying to cleverly hide from him. Props for Ash using the human equivalent of Quick Attack though, but Pokémon on Human combat is just unfair. Next up on the list was the loveable Dracovish, who admittedly was dead up until about a week ago, and even then, we aren't sure if he was put back together correctly. His clumsiness made him an easy target, despite his stealer speed. Then came Sirfetch'd, he was more a fighting type then anything, and it was a surprise that he wasn't caught as quickly, but a welcomed one for sure. Now from here it got much harder, Gengar was vigorously hunting down his prey, the Pikachu and Lucario. The difference here was Lucario was not quite as small as he was when he was a Riolu. Although he could use aura, it was not in tune enough to warrant the ability to evade detection from Gengar. Pikachu on the other hand was quite used to this so he just jumped from branch to branch, however one cracked and broke on him. Thankfully, he was saved by Gengar, and Gengar promptly went after Dragonite. While it was tough chasing the dragon Pokémon down, with all of his twists and turns; Gengar eventually caught them all. Back at camp, Goh caught several more Pokémon including a Rookidee, and a Blipbug. While Ash congratulated his Pokémon on a great day's effort.

"Y'all did an awesome job guys, I am so proud of you!" The Murkrow-haired trainer said to an applause of "Pika!", "Dragon!", "Gengar!", "Cario!", "Sirfetch'd!", and "Dra-co-viiish!"

During this time, a certain purple coated fellow was traveling through the Wild Area preparing for next year's Gym Challenge, hoping for at least a decent day's worth of grinding.

"Dang council," the boy muttered to himself, as he walked directly to a campsite, put up by our current traveling trio.

"Well, hello," Ash said being the first to speak up to the unexpected intruder.

"Oh sorry, about intruding," Bede said.

"Well, you seem a little upset?" Chloe butted in.

"Of course, I am! MY GYM RUN CAME TO A CRASHING END!" The boy yelled.

"That ain't nice," Goh noted.

"Cinderace," Cinderace agreed.

"Why did that happen?" Ash asked a tad bit sympathetic to the guy, he has seen worse.

"Because my sponsor got revoked from the sponsor list, and I was booted out of the gym challenge as a result," Bede said.

"Sponsor?" Chloe asked in wonder.

"Oh, I am guessing you aren't from around here. To compete in the Galar Gym Challenge to keep it quote on quote 'pristine', there are certain people that are allowed to sponsor trainers to compete in the Galar League," Bede said, "and mine was revoked from that list, thus disqualifying me."

"Well, that sounds dumb," Ash said.

"It is," Bede replied, "I suppose I should introduce myself, my name is Bede."

"I am Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town in the Kanto Region and this is my partner, Pikachu!"

"Pikachu!"

"I am Goh from Vermillion City in Kanto, and this is Cinderace, and Grookey."

"Cinderace."

"Grookey!"

"And I am Chloe Cerise from Vermillion City as well, and this is my friend Eevee."

"Eevee!"

"So why are you in Galar?"

"I am taking on the World Coronation Series, and I am planning on making my way to the top and beating Leon," Ash said.

"Oh him," Bede said in a hint of distaste, mainly because of Leon's copycat and naïve brother.

"World Coronation Series, I'll keep that in mind," Bede continued. Then his head took a thought process back.

"Did you say Ash and Goh were your names, pointing towards the two boys?"

"Yes," the two replied.

"You're the reason, the Chairman was defeated, and now you're going to pay. Pokémon battle here and now."

"Wait, what?" Was Goh's first reaction, while Ash was surprised at the mere mention of the Chairman.

"I would love to but I got to fight in a tournament tomorrow," Ash said, cheekingly rubbing his hand behind his back.

"Then I'll fight him," Bede said, "Clearly you are the more powerful looking one, which caused Goh to tense up.

"Come on Goh you can do it," Ash said for moral support, as the unwitting combatant, accepted the challenge. Meanwhile the "sixteen-year-old" form earlier was watching these events play out from a distance with a smile on her face.

TRAINER'S CHOICE

Trainers which one of those Pokémon evolve into Orbeetle?

a.) Charjabug

b.) Dottler

c.) Ledyba

"Cinderace, Let's GOOOOO!" Goh yelled as Cinderace did a flip and jumped over him, striking a pose by the time he landed.

"Duosion, show them who is superior," Bede said as he threw an Ultra Ball containing the blobby Pokémon.

"Who is that Pokémon, Ash?" Chloe asked, while Eevee did something adorable.

"It's a Duosion," Ash simply replied, as Chloe pulled out her Pokédex.

Duosion, the Mitosis Pokémon and the evolved form of Solosis. A Psychic Type Pokémon. With its two heads, it is said that their psychic abilities can span over half a mile, however the two heads have to agree on a singular action for that to work.

"Seems like Goh, has his work cut out for him," Chloe noted, as Goh called Cinderace to use his Pyro Ball attack.

"Pathetic, Duosion use Reflect," Bede said as the Duosion created a barrier that caused the Pyro Ball to be knocked back towards Cinderace where it made contact.

"Now use Psybeam," Bede said as the Duosion generated a multi-colored beam towards the Rabbit Pokémon.

"Quick, Cinderace dodge it," as Cinderace recovered from the Pyro Ball, he dodged the oncoming Psybeam though narrowly if I do say so myself.

"It's no use, Cinderace is a melee fighter, that isn't going to help you at all," Bede said with a confident grin.

"Cinderace use Quick Attack," Goh commanded as Cinderace got tailed by a whiteish aura, however Bede seemed unfazed by the oncoming attack. While Chloe and Goh seemed hopeful this would work, both Ash and Bede knew what was about to happen.

"Reflect again," Bede said as the Duosion put up another screen that caused Cinderace to be bumped back.

"I think I'll stop toying with you. How you beat Eternatus with that sorry excuse for a Cinderace is beyond me. End this with Psyshock!" Bede yelled, as blobs of psychic power surrounded the Duosion before it was launched at high speeds towards the Cinderace.

All the blobs made contact. Cinderace was unable to battle, as Ash made that final call.

"You did good Duosion," Bede said, as he returned the

"Cinderace, you did awesome, great job," Goh said as he went and checked on Cinderace.

"And here I thought that the legendary trainers were powerful ones capable of defeating Eternatus. Huh, the kid in the hat, hasn't even evolved his Pikachu," Bede said.

"Its because Pikachu doesn't want to evolve," Ash stated.

"Pikachu!" Pikachu said proudly.

"And that's why its weak and will never reach its true potential," Bede bluntly stated. Bede just pushed the Ash and Pikachu button.

"Then enter the tournament tomorrow, you can sign up for the World Coronation Series at any time," Ash passively aggressively said, "And I will be waiting for you, ready to crush you at a moment's notice."

"Perhaps I will," Bede said, "Where is it located?"

"In Tork," Ash replied.

"Oh, a minor league stadium. Doesn't matter I'll crush you like the flimsy trainer you are."

"Alright."

Unbeknownst to the group, a the "sixteen-year-old" was taking notes on Bede's behavior. However even more unknown to the old women or the children, a group of idiots were flying in a Meowth Balloon.

"So, it seems the twerp made a new rival," Jessie said.

"And he seems pretty powerful," James added on.

"He must certainly have some rare Pokémon. If he had that Duosion," Meowth said.

"Are you thinking what I am thinking, Meowth?" Jessie said.

"Attack the stadium when both the twerp, and curly twerp are near the end of the battle, and capture all the Pokémon there?" Meowth said.

"Exactly," Jessie replied.

"Then will give them to the boss, and he is sure to give us a promotion," James said all giddy.

"Wobbuffet."

"Not now, you fool, we got Pokémon to steal," Jessie said, as the balloon went into the distance.

Trainers, if you picked Dottler then you are correct.

All Ash could think about was his impending battle with Bede. Sure, he has been put into this position before, namely, Paul and Trip. Twice before he stumbled, but now he cannot lose. For himself, and most importantly his Pokémon and friends.

"Pikachu?" Pikachu asked his trainer, like it was reading his thoughts.

"Oh its nothing," Ash calmly replied, as he tried to go sleep.

"Pika-Chu," Pikachu said highly doubting it was nothing.

"Your right buddy, I just don't want to get into another Paul situation."

"Chu, Pikachu," Pikachu said as he reassured his amigo, that he will not let this happen.

"Good night, Pikachu," As Ash went to sleep, anticipating tomorrows fight.

TO BE CONTINUED

A/N: So while I was writing this, I realized there is no way I can fit it within a 5-page limit. The reason behind the 5-page limit is I believe that most accurately reflects the 22-mintue runtime the anime has. However with this being said, I realize that I have going 10 pages with Will of a Champion lately. But back to the subject I have determined that all the side stories will have 5- 8 pages to wrap up their main plot. However if I feel the need that it has to go over, I will create a part 2 or beyond.

A/N(2): So when writing this, I realized I when I get reviews I will respond to it like this.

If it is for a main story, like Will of a Champion, then it will be discussed on the next chapter, or if the story ends. The review will be discussed during the first chapter of the succeeding story or concurrent story.

As for reviews on side stories, they will be discussed on the next chapter of the main story, or concurrent one, or will be discussed on the next side story.

A/N(3): Feel free to review this story, or any other story on my profile. Mostly because I am interested to see your thoughts on the story, and what I can do to make to better.

Till next time.
