Cool air breezes by, fluttering the remains of the cherry blossom trees in late spring. Even though it's warm outside, the weather remains selective. Randomly choosing when to rain freezing droplets or blow gusts of pollen through the air or become humid, as well as through the nights. The evening is close, a soft orange glow cascades over the land of the Mukami's private mansion in the back. The birds head back to their nests as the bats nearby start to stir, ready for mealtime of the insects that have started to awaken from their winter coma. One other was also preparing to head home. Picking through Yuma's precious garden was a human girl of exquisite value that not even an immortal golden apple could compare to. At least, in Yuma's eyes. But then again, the girl was also half-vampire as well. Her vampiric side was kept in check due to a small wooden bead bracelet she wore constantly. The ancient golden symbols on the blue and purple beads made certain of that.
Molly, down on her knees, picking through bundles of green leaves, looking for the ripest of all strawberries to pick and carry back to the house. She pushes back her long, curly brown hair out of her sparkling azure eyes. "Darn, did some animal eat them all? I was for sure I saw a whole bundle of ripe ones yesterday." She digs around the strawberry patch several times but comes up empty on ripe fruit. "This doesn't make sense." She mutters. The girl collects her things and gets up, dusting herself off before heading to the tool shed to drop off her tools. As she heads into the house, she gives one last look at the patch of green leaves and shakes her head.
Inside Molly heads straight up to her room she shares with her vampire boyfriend. She knocks on the door as she enters. "Hey, I'm back." Walking into the bedroom hearing no response, "Yuma?" A pair of hands slinks around her waist from behind. A large body presses up against her back.
"I'm here." The tall, brown-haired vampire whispers huskily into her ear.
Molly gasps. "Holy crap! You nearly gave me a heart attack. Please don't do that so suddenly." She turns to look up at him behind her.
Yuma smirks mischievously. "Who else were ya expecting Pumpkin? You're mine don'tcha know?" He leans down to nip Molly's collarbone. His warm breath against her cool skin compels goosebumps to form around her arms. His fangs barely leave a scratch on her sun-kissed skin.
"Ah~. That tickles." She replies with both a faint blush and smile. "I remember Beau. I wouldn't trade anyone in the world over you, my love."
"Heh, that's more like it. Now whatcha lookin' sounding sad about?" He asks, holding her tightly in his arms.
Molly relaxes in his arms. "It's nothing really. Just those strawberries I tend to." She moves her gaze from his face to the bed, soft blue eyes somber with thought.
"Yea? I planted them for ya. You wanted them right? Is it the bugs or somethin''?"
"No. Everything's fine. Except.." She sighs before turning around to face him. Fingering with her bracelet out of habit while she spoke. "I wanted to use the ripe ones I saw yesterday to cook with. Just for you, I wanted to cook you something my family taught me. But the ripe berries were all gone. Picked or eaten by someone." Molly explains, resting her forehead on his chest. She could feel his hand gently caressing her head.
"Seriously? For me? Gosh, that's darn sweet. Give them berries a couple of days, new ones will grow an' I'll help ya pick every one of them."
"Thank you Yuma, you're truly one of a kind." Molly beams with happiness. Yuma chuckles and leans down to kiss her, she accepts, deepening the kiss for a lifetime to her lover. Yuma breaks off the kiss for a moment, Molly instinctively moves her hair to the side and allows him to nip her neck until his lips found a spot in the center. She waited patiently for his sharp fangs to slice into her flesh, allowing her warm blood to seep into his mouth.
Instead, he sucks on the skin, making the girl in his arms moan quietly. 'That's not going to do.' Yuma thought, he starts sucking more roughly, lightly biting at the skin. Molly gasps out loud. 'There we go.' He releases her flesh from his lips and carefully licks over the mark.
"Was that really necessary?" She asks him, folding her arms.
"Of course. We always need to mark ya. To tell everyone you belong with me." Yuma states, licking his lips.
Molly huffs before smiling. "Everyone already knows sweetie. I appreciate the kind gesture anyway. Now, I'm feeling icky with all this dirt and sweat all over me. Do you wanna help me wash up?"
"When have I ever said no Pumpkin? Let's go." Yuma quickly lifts her up bridal style and teleports straight to the bathroom. Kicking a fussy Kou out, who was taking too long with skincare.
…
"Well, lookie here. You right about them being eaten." Yuma states. A couple of days had passed and the pair were outside in the early evening again to catch the strawberry thieves.
Molly laughs. "Yep. I can't blame them though, they are tasty and naturally sweet. I took a bite out of one earlier this week." Right in the middle of the strawberry patch was a couple of deer grazing.
Yuma sighs, scratching his head. "Yea, right on that."
"Come on, let's leave them to it. We can come back next time and pick some." Molly motions for Yuma to walk back inside with her.
"Wha-? But the baking? I thought you were going to cook for me? You worked hard on these plants and those beasts are taking advantage. Just wait right here and I'll scare them off in a sec." Yuma starts to roll up his sleeves before Molly stops him.
"I can still cook for you. We can go to the night market tonight. Plenty of fresh fruits there too." She stares up at him, giving the best impression of puppy dog eyes she could muster.
One look and Yuma was done. He gives a heavy sigh before agreeing to go shopping. As long as he gets to eat his girlfriend's cooking, he was content. Well, except one thing was better than eating food, ravishing his girl was even greater.
Out in front of the tool shed, inside the shade, another pair of deep azure eyes gleamed. "For a loudmouth, he's correct. Molly did an excellent job on these berries." Soft red strawberry juice lingered on the lips of the older Sakamaki as he settled in for a nap.
"NEET!"
The End!
