Somewhere in the Fire Nation archipelago

Basking in the dying rays of the sun as it slowly inched its way reluctantly past the horizon, Azula let her feet trail in the crystal clear waters, eyes fixed on the vivid hues that painted the sunset in vivid colours. Where the sunlight's reach merged with the unchanging inky darkness that heralded the coming of night, the stars in their multitudes were slowly taking up their positions.

Raising a hand, she idly traced a random path across some of the more prominent stars, before placing it back down on the deck. Just then, she heard a familiar voice call out to her "You might wanna reel your toes back in some, the fishes are particularly active 'round this time."

Raising her head, she turned towards the source of the voice and found her partner busy rigging up the sleek vessel for the night. Gazing at him, she took in his toned naked form and blushed slightly as it brought to mind the fact that not ten minutes ago, she was screaming his name as they made intense passionate love all over the pristine white deck of the vessel. In the multicoloured rays of the twilight, the plethora of scars and muscle blending in with his dusky skin tone made him look irresistible and she felt once more a familiar heat pooling in her.

"Hello? Azula? Princess Firefly? Are you here?"
"Wh-what?" she stammered.

"Looks like someone's distracted." he teased, as he moved to fix up something to eat for the both of them.

"Was not!"

"So you say, missy, so you say. But for real, I wouldn't leave my toes hanging out in the water for long."

Pulling her feet back on to the vessel, she asked "And what makes you say that?"

"Let's just say your brother didn't exactly heed my advice and almost lost his hand to some hungry fish. Then again, they say it is during this hour that the lines between the spirit and the human realms are at its most porous."

"Really now?" she scoffed.

"I mean, that's what the elders told me. Never really saw a reason to deny it. You lived on a ship for a while, you should know there's always some kernel of truth to sailor's superstitions."

"Alright alright, I'll keep my feet on deck if it keeps you happy." Even as she did so, she couldn't help but feel a slight tug on her small toe as she lifted her feet out of the waters. Choosing to keep it to herself lest he gave her an 'I told you so' look, she made her way to where Sokka was and wrapped herself around him, the sweat and sea spray melding their bare skin together as they watched the sun finally slip beneath the waves.

"It's beautiful, isn't it?"

"Not as beautiful as you."

"Mmm, keep talking to me like that…." she whispered huskily in his ear. In a flash, she found herself pinned against the sliding glass panes of their cabin, heart, mind and soul totally enraptured by the man with cerulean eyes tenderly making love to her, keeping time with the steady lap of the seas against the hull even as the skies finally turned from orange and yellow to a dim twilight blue.
