"Ghh! Where have you disappeared off to?!" Shouted Gundham as he rummaged around his room.

His whole room was messy, it had been moved around a lot. He kept looking in every small gap around the room.

"Maga-Z. This isn't time to search for the aura." He frowned and looked at the rest of the devas who were relaxing in their cage.

Hmmm, ghhh he could be anywhere, he was gone by the time I woke up.

He frowned and then looked at the front door of his dorm. His eyes widened.

What… it can't be.

He ran over and inspected the door, it appears the door is slightly ajar. He also glanced down on the floor and saw a bit of hamster fur on the carpet.

That indeed matches the coat of Maga-Z.

He frowned and looked back at the hamster cage. "Devas. We must search beyond our quarters for Maga-Z" The hamsters perked up and ran outside of the cage and up his leg to get to his scarf. They snuggly got inside.

Gundham nodded and headed out of the door.

It was a sunny day. A lot of students were outside enjoying their weekend. Gundham dashed out of his cabin area and started running across the path towards hopes peak academy.

If he isn't here. He must be at the academy, the only other place he is familiar with.

He dashed along the muddy path, he glanced around at some of the students. He saw three older students chilling by a bench. They were chatting away and laughing a bit. He knew one of them as "Taka", he also saw a really muscular male and a short girl.

He continued on and saw the main building in the distance. He looked very eager to find Maga-Z. Some students stared at him as he dashed along.

"Well, he seems to be in a bit of a rush." Rantaro said as gundham's dash blew his clothes a little.

"Very odd of him." Kirumi said as she stood by him.

He reached the front entrance of the academy and inspected the main entrance inside.

Hmmm…

He noticed some fur on the ground. He kneeled down and inspected it.

Ahah! One step closer to finding him.

He got up and opened the door into the academy hallway. A few students were in some weekend clubs at the moment.

He never did weekend clubs. There were no clubs that he was interested in. Sonia tried to invite him to a few things but to no avail. He preferred to be in his room. Plus the academy didn't allow animal based clubs due to safety reasons.

The walls were white and beige with a burgundy coloured carpet.

Gundham sniffed the air.

The distinct smell of a dark deva can be noticed by a trained nose…

He sniffed around like a dog. He roamed around and tried to trace the exact location of Maga-Z.

He walked past a few classrooms. One student popped their head out of the door as they noticed him sniffing about.

"Uh, Gundham what are you doing?" Hajime raised an eyebrow.

Gundham looked back. "Mortal. I am trying to search for one of the dark devas. They appear to have tried to roam this dimension on their own."

Hajime blinked. "Right. Well good luck with that." He closed the door.

Gundham nodded and continued to sniff around. He kept traversing the halls until he reached a flight of stairs.

He must be on another level.

He sniffed the area around the stairs and looked at the stairs heading to the basement.

The basement… What business do they have there?

He walked down the flight of stairs. At the end of the stairs was a hallway with a single door at the end of it. He frowned.

I've never been down here before. What is this?

The hallway to the door was a bit dark. The only light illuminating the hallway was light that was coming from the room behind the door. He could hear a voice behind the door, it sounded like it was cheering but he couldn't make out the words. The voice sounded feminine.

Gundham frowned a bit more and approached the door.

The final destination…

He grabbed the door handle and opened the door.

The first sight as he entered the room was a makeshift mini obstacle track that was laid on the ground. The track itself was made with random items found around the school. There was space for five participants as the obstacle course was split into five.

First were little hurdles made from folded up straws.

Secondly there was a long tube made from toilet paper tubes.

Thirdly there was a stick that needed to be balanced on which had two cartons of drinks suspending it and a bit of duct tape to act as a ramp to.

The fourth obstacle was a little hill made from random small rocks and a cloth to climb over and lastly there was a straight track for a final run which was about a meter long with a prize of a few bits of food at the end.

He saw on the obstacles itself some hamsters who were doing the track including Maga-Z. This caught his eye.

Gundham was amazed at the craftsmanship, a little basic but still surprising to see. He wondered who made this and why it was there. He looked up and saw one of his answers.

Hiyoko was sitting on a chair giggling away, she was too preoccupied with the race course to notice that Gundham walked in. She was wearing a cap with hamster ears and her usual kimono.

"Mortal. What are you doing? Why do you have possession of one of the dark devas?!" Gundham shouted.

"Ah!" Hiyoko almost fell off her seat and looked at him. "Oh, ew it's you." She frowned. "The weirdo is here, what do you want?"

"You have Maga-Z." He stated as he walked over and picked up Maga-Z.

"Hey! That's my champion!" She pouted.

"The dark devas of destruction are not to be used as toys or means of entertainment. They are dangerous." He glared at her as he looked at Maga-Z.

"Delusional as always weirdo." She frowned. "You should've seen him race though! He was great!"

"Why are you in the basement anyway, mortal." He asked.

"Well. Mahiru is at photography club currently and I hate photography. I don't really have anyone else so… uh I just hang here sometimes I guess." She looked down a bit.

"Why not your room?" Gundham blinked.

"Eh, It's boring there." Hiyoko pouted.

He saw that Maga-Z had been painted with flames on him. "What's with the flames?"

"Flames make things faster duh" She answered.

He frowned and let Maga-Z back into his scarf. He looked at the other hamsters in the track. "Those better be well fed, mortal."

"They are fine, Jesus," She said.

"What's with the obstacle course anyway? Hamster racing?" He frowned.

"I'm just bored." She replied. "I saw your hamster last night and took them in. He ran around a lot and I got this idea." She smirked.

"You built this fast." Gundham blinked.

"Oh I had that pathetic weasel Kazuichi help me in crafting this and the freak Angie painted the hamsters" She smirked more.

"Right well. I suggest you provide water and shelter for those remaining beings. Or else you'll feel the wrath of the dark devas!" He shouted.

"Ok ok. You should still give Maga-Z a chance though. He seems to like it," She said.

"Hmh. I doubt that mortal. You wouldn't know the thoughts of such a powerful being. Only I, the overlord of ice, know the true feelings of them. Hahahahahaha!" He chuckled and walked off.

As he walked out he heard sounds coming from his hamster. He looked into his scarf. "Hm? What is it?"

Maga-Z popped his head out and squeaked a bit at him.

"What are you saying… You want to compete?"

He squeaked more and nodded.

Gundham frowned and looked back into the course with hiyoko. "Hmph. Fine. but I'm supervising. I don't want you to risk using your powers against your opponents." He blinked and walked back in.

"Oh? Back so soon" Hiyoko giggled. "Did you forget your sanity or something?"

He ignored her comment. "Hmph. We have decided to allow this charade to continue. With his participation. Now. Tell me how this works."

"Oh good!" Hiyoko smiled a little. "Well, as you can see, the hamsters go through the course and need to get to the end where there is some food. Whoever gets to the end first wins."

"What do they win?" Gundham blinked.

"Nothing." Hiyoko blinked.

"What's the point in that if there is no benefit to winning. There must be some form of prize." Gundham said.

"Wow, getting into it already?" Hiyoko giggled a little.

"Even a being of darkness recognises honour." He blinked. "Maga-Z can't be a true champion without a prize to show it."

"Right, and what kind of prize though?" Hiyoko raised an eyebrow.

"Hmmm special food. Hamsters are fond of food." Gundham stated.

"Go on then. weirdo. Go get some." Hiyoko said.

"How can I acquire some?" Gundham asked.

"I don't know, you're the one who wanted a prize" She frowned.

Gundham turned around. "Fine. I'll get some." He walked out and started thinking.

What mortal would be able to make such an item… Teruteru! The small mortal can make some small meals.

He walked up the stairs and started looking around.

Where would he be though…

He saw a notice board on one of the walls nearby and glanced at the posters. There was one poster showing all the current ongoing clubs today and the rooms they are in. He saw there was one for the "Cooking Club" which was upstairs in room 204.

Gundham nodded to himself and ran upstairs to find the room. He got to the new floor and looked around.

204… 204… 204…

He walked past a few rooms and on the right was a door that had the words "204" written on it.

Ah yes, the realm of the ultimate cook.

Gundham barged through the door.

"Gah!" Teruteru almost dropped his pan. "Do you not knock?!" Teruteru frowned at Gundham.

"I require your assistance, plump mortal." Gundham said with a deadpan expression.

"U-uh right." Teruteru smiled a little. "So how may I help you gundham. Be quick please, as you can see we're currently a bit busy"

Gundham looked around and saw a few students looking at him and then going back to cooking their meals. They seem to be creating some spaghetti dishes. He couldn't really tell the specifics, he's not familiar with food.

He looked back at Teruteru. "I require a small dish suitable for a hamster."

Teruteru blinked. "A hamster? For your four hamsters, correct?"

"They are not hamsters. They are demonic beings from hell." Gundham frowned.

"... right. Well why not just feed them stuff you'd get from like a pet store?" Teruteru asked.

"I require something special. It's for an event. I will spare you the details." Gundham said.

Teruteru put a hand on his chin and thought for a moment. "I could make a salad I guess. What can hamsters even eat?"

"Veg, fruit, hay. Those are the main three." Gundham said.

"Well… I can definitely provide fruit and veg easily. I don't have hay though." Teruteru blinked.

"I can provide that." Gundham rummaged through his pocket and got out some hay.

Teruteru blinked. "Do you… just keep hay in your pocket everywhere you go?"

"The dark devas need it for sustenance." Gundham blinked.

"Right… well I'll take that." he took it from gundham's hands and walked to the kitchen top. "Time to prepare this! Now stand back Gundham. I'll be sure to make it magnifique!" Teruteru's eyes sparkled as he gathered some fruit and veg as well as a bowl and a knife and started making the salad.

Gundham watched as Teruteru performed fast and efficient actions to chop up and mix the ingredients together. It was strangely intriguing to watch.

"I've never seen you out of your room on the weekend, you know. Quite nice to see actually." Teruteru commented.

"It was out of my hands." Gundham frowned.

"What exactly happened?" He asked.

"I will not say." Gundham said.

"Alrighty then." Teruteru continued to concentrate on his actions.

After about 10 minutes he passed a small bowl of a vegetable, fruit and hay salad to gundham. "I wouldn't eat it myself, but it's perfect for the hamsters." he smiled.

"You are in my debt, plump mortal." Gundham stated.

"Oh, no need. Cooking isn't something to be in debt with. I enjoyed it and it's a cooking club after all" He smiled. "You should come join us sometime!"

"Unlikely." Gundham said as he started to walk out with the bowl.

"Your loss then, more chef ladies for me, au revoir!" Teruteru giggled a little to himself as he went back to cooking his original dish.

Gundham strolled back to the basement and opened the door. Hiyoko was drinking from a juicebox.

"Took your time didn't you?" Hiyoko said.

"It's only been 15 minutes." Gundham stated as he gave her the bowl.

"Is that… hay and food? Ew." Hiyoko gave a disgusted expression.

"It's not for yours to eat." Gundham said. "Now, let's begin the race!" he said.

"Alright alright." She smirked with her tongue out a bit. "Come on, give me Maga-Z then."

He nodded and got Maga-Z from his scarf. He gave him over. "Show them the power of darkness."

She giggled a little as she placed Maga-Z along with four other hamsters at the start of the course. "It's time." She smirked more.

"Three!"

"Two!"

"One!"

"Go!"

She opened the area to allow the hamsters to move. The hamsters moved slowly across the course.

"They aren't moving fast." He frowned.

"Well of course, I didn't exactly train them in a day, did i? They will smell the food and eventually get to it" She said.

He watched as the hamsters just sniffed around. Suddenly the hamster with a painted "1" on it's eyes widened and it started running towards the food.

"And we got the first one!" Hiyoko smirked.

Maga-Z keeps just sniffing around. He needs to sense the aura of the food.

He watched as (3) now sniffed and started the race.

Gundham looked frustrated.

"Awh the weirdo looks worried" Hiyoko laughed a bit.

"Hmph." Gundham crossed his arms.

(2) smelled the food ahead and started dashing.

Gundham groaned a little inside.

Maga-Z finally could smell the food ahead and started running.

In Gundham's mind, he was cheering on.

(1) was already past the hurdles and inside the tubes.

(3) was struggling to get over hurdles while (2) continued on past them while climbing over.

(4) was still sniffing around currently.

Gundham watched as Maga-Z finally passed (3) as they jumped over each hurdle with ease

Gundham Clenched his fists as he watched.

(1) was now balancing on the stick but wobbling a bit.

Gundham watched as "1" flopped off.

(2) got out of the tube while Maga-Z entered it, (2) successfully balanced and got over the stick.

(4) finally sniffed the food and continued on.

Maga-Z had gotten out of the tube and got over the stick. He was now 2nd place after passing (1)

Gundham watched very eagerly now.

"Go go go go!" Hiyoko shouted.

(2) was now at the top of the hill and rolled down it.

Maga-Z was just behind and also rolled down.

"Ooo very close!" Hiyoko shouted.

As the two recovered, they started running along the final trek to the finish line. They were neck and neck however Maga-Z was slowly pushing ahead.

Gundham waas clenching his fist more and more.

He saw as Maga-Z pushed ahead and grabbed their food.

"Yesss- I mean." Gundham cleared his throat. "Good job." He folded his arms.

"Truly a champ still," Hiyoko giggled. "Here you go Maga-Z" She walked over and gave him the bowl of food which Maga-Z instantly nommed on.

"Well you can take him back now, I had my fun" She said and thought about what to do next week.

He watched as Maga-Z was still eating away.

"Hmph. Perhaps I'll return next weekend. He seems to have enjoyed the time out" Gundham said.

"Wait… you really want to come back? Next weekend?" Hiyoko said, she tried to resist a little smile.

Gundham nodded again.

"Why though? Since when do you enjoy being with others?" She frowned.

"This is for Maga-Z, not me." Gundham stated. He hid the need to fill any bit of emptiness in parts of his life.

Hiyoko frowned a little. "Whatever you say… Gundham." Her frown turned neutral. "I would like that actually. We could make our own club here."

"I'm not making a hamster racing club." Gundham frowned. "That was a one time thing."

"Oh no. That would get boring anyway." Hiyoko said. "But… we could just hang out. Like a hangout club, i don't know, I was never good with names" She pouted. "The stinky pig, Mikan, is better with names…"

"Hangout club is fine." Gundham said.

"Hangout club it is then." She gave a small smile.

Author's Notes

Hi all,

This was a little one shot inspired by a user on AO3 which I was speaking to called gaybutok, they gave the idea of Hiyoko and Gundham racing Hamsters.

I enjoy writing a potential friendship between the two, I honestly just enjoy unusual friendships that aren't that explored in general as they didn't interact much in the actual games.

I hope you guys enjoyed it too, more to come ^^
