"ELOISE COME BACK HERE"

My mom's voice sounds like an angry banshee. I slam my door just as she is about to grab from behind and manage a couple more kicks in my ribs. Honestly I can't say If I will be surprised if some of those are broken.

"ELOISE IF DON'T OPEN THIS DOOR NOW AND APOLOGIZE TO RICK I WILL LOCK YOU IN THE BASEMENT FOR A WEEK."

Motherly love, ah, it always warms my heart.

Right now the only possible thing is to jump from this window and hope not to die. I grab my emergency backpack and don't even think about the consequences of this stupidly formulated 5 seconds plan. I throw one leg over and quickly make my away down. Don't think about it.

Just don't think about it.

OUCH

Holy mother, landing on your back hurts. Despite the burning sensation in my lungs I force myself to carry on running from that house as fast as I can. Once I am finally two blocks away, I try to find some coverage because the light rain may not bother me, but I know this city well enough to bet that a storm is coming.

I have never been that good at locating myself in the streets, but I remember a park nearby and they have benches and for now that will have to do, since this hell of a city doesn't even have hotels. Although, that makes sense. Who would want to come here?

Finally sitting down I quickly unpack my bag and put on a warm sweater and a jacket, or else I will die of hypothermia before the sun rises and I have the chance to get a bus to my Nana's house.

Oh my god. Nana. What am I even going to say? "Hey Granny, guess what, mom and her drug addict boyfriend beat the creep out me and didn't let me contact you for 11 months"

... yeah that's never gonna work, but for now it's the best I got.

I lay down at the bench using my bag as a pillow and pray for the guy who controls rains to have mercy on this runaway girl.

This was the last straw. I could not endure a single other day in that stinky hole. I had a better plan. I would have taken the bus in the morning while they wore dozed off. At least I had that bag on the go, or else I wouldn't have the guts to survive the night out here. My backpack is fairly small, but it contains all of the essentials for a runaway: food, water, pepper spray, little knife, tooth past and my walkman.

The rain is growing stronger, so I turn to my side and try to have some sleep, god knows I haven't had that in a while.

But as soon as I close my eyes, a white light overtakes me and I am off.

I have always hated drunk drivers. This is seriously not the way I taught I was going to die. I try to move and open my eyes but my limps are very rigid. I force my eyes a little bit more and realize am at a Hospital??

Do they have hospitals in Heaven?

I try and move my legs but they are quite stiff. My head hurts. Maybe angels can cure it.

"Angels am not so sure, but this will help"

I jump back further into the bed in fear. God. That woman just appeared out of nowhere. I look up to where the voice came and meet eyes with a nurse.

"It's good to see you are awake, please drink this while I fetch the Headmaster"

Headmaster? Does she mean like, god?

I start to look around the room. From what I can see from my bed it has a pretty tall ceiling and the details give me a haunted castle vibe. I glance at the glass the angel nurse left me, it has a weird texture, but I guess, since I am dead, doesn't really matter. And why would dead people need medicine? I decided to think to hard right now and swallow the potion. Uuuf, it tastes worst than it looks.

"I imagine it does, Miss"

What's with those people and startling me. I look around and the angel/evilmedicine/nurse brought a really old man with her. OH MY...

"Are you god? Look, I am so sorry for my sins, I am still learning, I was nice enough to people, except for that time when I glued my gum on Vernon's hair, but she had called me a whore so that is not. Oh my god I am sorry.

The two of then are looking at me as if I am insane or something. Shit, you would think god hears stories crazier than this one, but okay.

"I believe there has been a misunderstanding dear. You are not dead. I am not god. My name is Albus Dumboldore and I am the Headmaster of this school."
