p class="MsoNormal""It is so hot," thought Maki to herself as she sat up in her bed. The Jujutsu Tech dorms were in no way cramped, but during the summer it could easily turn into a sauna due to lack of a functioning air conditioner. No matter how many times it seemed Mina brought it up to Principal Yaga's attention he simply told her to look at it as training, which would make sense if the boys dorm had to suffer under the same conditions. At this point she wasn't sure if it was because of the lack of funding or if it was that wretched Zenin clan keeping her cool air from gracing her under such harsh conditions in hopes she will come running back. After turning the pillow to the cool side, and still finding it hard to get comfortable on her sweat covered mattress Maki decided sleep just wasn't going to reach her tonight. Leaning up she swung her legs out of bed and got up slowly careful not to agitate the floorboards, so not to stir Nobara with her movement being that they were the only females occupying the dorms of the Tokyo school. "How can she even sleep like this," thought Maki as she slipped on her indoor shoes. Usually, if Maki found herself unable to sleep, she would make her way to the kitchen area that was shared between all dorm occupants to make herself some tea in hopes of it relaxing her, but since it was so hot, she decided ice cream was the most logical decision. As she entered the kitchen however, she noticed it was already occupied, and by the most troublesome underclassmen Fushiguro Megumi. Realizing this Maki slowly retreated backwards in hopes of avoiding him, but Fushiguro was a very perceptive individual, and quickly caught sight of her. "Maki senpai that you," whispered Megumi as he looked up from his cup of tea. This caused Maki to jolt in place as she was on her way back to her dorm. "Yes," said Maki nervously as she turned around slowly with her eyes closed. "Did you come for tea also," asked Megumi holding up his cup as reference. "Yes," lied Maki, she knew she really came for ice cream, but how could she justify eating it so early in the morning i.e., 1:20am. "I didn't mean to startle you Maki senpai I just needed something to help me sleep," said Megumi nonchalantly as he went to drink some of his tea. "You're no bother I just didn't expect anyone to be up at this time, it's usually just me," said Maki as she made her way to the teapot to pour herself a cup. The kitchen area was very nice with many aspects of a regular modern kitchen, except for the round tables, and barstools provided by Gojo who felt it added "Pizzazz" as he would put it. So naturally everyone gravitated toward the counter that wasn't horrendously redecorated. "What was he thinking when he did this," asked Maki as she stood near the counter drinking her tea. "I don't question anything Gojo-san does anymore," said Megumi with a dark tint over his eyes as he observed the tacky leopard print barstools that surrounded the roundtable. Maki couldn't help but notice that Megumi kept his dialogue short when it came to conversation, she never really cared as to why because at the very least he communicated effectively during combat. "Why do you rarely talk to your comrades between operations," asked Maki very bluntly as she looked at Megumi. This question caught Fushiguro by surprise, so he had to take a moment to think about it. "I guess because most of the people in my life I become close to suddenly die or wind up in terrible conditions, so it's just best If I refrain from being buddy buddy until I'm strong enough to protect the people I care the most for," said Fushiguro in a very serious tone. Feeling that she brought the mood down a little asking him that Maki quickly tried to cheer up her underclassmen. "I heard about you defeating a special grade by yourself, that's a feat some second years can't even say they accomplished, so obviously you're strong, and don't forget I've trained you, so you should be incredibly strong based on that alone," said Maki sternly pointing at Megumi. She went to push up her glasses by habit, but forgot she wasn't wearing her glasses she used to view cursed spirits. "Besides, you should have more faith in your comrades they are a very competent bunch, besides Gojo, but then again I can't see him losing to a cursed spirit in the first place never mind a cursed spirit user, "said Maki looking down at her cup of tea she only took one sip from. "I can't imagine that either," admitted Megumi recalling the time Gojo faced Sukuna the first time compared to how he faired against him. "Plus, how can you say you want a woman with unshakeable character, but you allow your character to be shaken by the slightest things," Maki questioned blatantly. This caused Fushiguro to spit out his tea violently, "How did you hear about that," questioned Fushiguro recalling that she wasn't there to hear him say that embarrassing line to Toudou. This caused Maki to chuckle a little realizing she had effectively teased her underclassmen. Megumi felt a little embarrassed by this and turned his head opposite of hers as to shun her. "Come on Fushiguro-san there is nothing wrong with that, if it makes you feel any better, I like the cliché of guys being stronger than me," stated Maki in hopes he stopped ignoring her. "So that means the only guys around here you're attracted to are Gojo-san, Toudou-san, and Itadori-kun," replied Megumi with a smirk. "Gross I can't believe you think so lowly of me, and wow you left yourself off that list I can't tell if you're being humble or letting me down easy Megumi-chan," stated Maki in a playful tone. Fushiguro blushed at this and found it hard to look at Maki after what she had said. "Do I not fit your woman with unshakeable character role Megumi-chan," said Maki as she jokingly pouted. Fushiguro had never thought about it, but technically she did fit the description. She was a Jujutsu sorcerer despite not being able to use cursed energy this alone went against all odds, and a powerful one to boot. One that went against the Zenin Clan and was still succeeding without the title or promotions. In a way they were one in the same, members of the Zenin Clan that despised their ancestry and refused to claim it. Megumi hadn't really been one to observe a person's attractiveness, but he couldn't deny that Maki was pretty. He slowly took in her form as she leaned against the counter drinking her tea. Her sage hair was down, and she wasn't wearing her glasses, so she looked less scary. Only thing she had on was a black tank top and red shorts that seemed to stop at her thigh. Fushiguro could see her taught muscles as well as the scars that adorned them from training and fighting cursed spirits, and most notably the scar on her left shoulder from blocking Hanami's death blow. She was his type in everyway inside and out, but he knew romance was useless when it came to Jujutsu sorcerers because staying alive wasn't a guarantee. It was just best to avoid relationships altogether. Maki noticed Fushiguro looking at her up and down, so she took the time to observe him as well. His hair was laid down rather than sticking up like usual, he was wearing a white t-shirt with navy blue shorts. She took in his muscular physique from his arms to his legs and was easily able to notice that Fushiguro had been doing extra training because he looked more sturdy than usual. No doubt about it Fushiguro was strong, but Maki couldn't help but feel that he wasn't showing all he was capable of. In her mind she felt like Fushiguro was the strongest sorcerer coming only second to Gojo. "Could I beat him now," wondered Maki as she studied his body. Realizing she wasn't going to get her ice cream before bed Maki decided it was time to turn in for the night, "Well it's getting late we should probably go back to bed we have training pretty early, and it will only negatively affect us if we stay up", stated Maki as she placed her cup down. "You're right, and sorry for staring," said Fushiguro in his usual tone scratching the back of his head. Maki started back first, but stopped in her tracks, "If you keep up the training, and confidence during exorcisms you could easily become the strongest Jujutsu sorceress, and who knows if you make it to the top with me, we could create our own Zenin clan," said Maki as she continued her way back to her room. Laying down slowly Maki felt a blush creeping on her face. "I can't believe I told him that now he's going to think I'm interested in him," said Maki as she held her hands close to her face. However, Megumi on the other hand was more concerned about something else, "I can't believe she called me Megumi-chan, Tsumiki used to do that too, and she actually looked cute saying it," thought Megumi to himself smirking. "What am I thinking it's Maki-san she was just teasing me, "thought Megumi shaking his head side to side violently in disbelief. "Tomorrow is going to be hell," thought Megumi and Maki as both closed their eyes and drifted to sleep./p
