I Don't own My Hero Academia.

This chapter will be Backstory only.

In this world 80% of the population inherit special abilities named Quirks. These abilities are used in a variety of ways in society, the most popular of which are by Pro Heroes to take down villains. Every kid's dream is to become one, and every villain despises them. The current Number 1 Pro Hero, who is looked up to by all, is the Symbol of Peace, All Might. For the last few decades, he has used his extremely powerful quirk to best villains and keep civilians smiling with his presence.

Today we are in the Hospital, with 4-year-old Yakeru Kazan and his father Yakeru HInote. Like his father, Kazan has spiky black hair and red eyes and a bored expression on his face. But unlike his father who is bored from waiting, Kazan is just tired.

Most people at Kazan's pre-school would describe him as lazy or inattentive by his teachers. He was a smart kid with successful parents and a comfortable life, but because of this he has never had any drive towards school. The only thing that remotely gets him interested is anything to do with heroes. Of course, his dream is to become one, more specifically the number 1. But due to him not having a quirk yet, he doesn't want to get his hopes up yet. Which brings me to why they are here.

He hasn't gotten his quirk yet.

"Yakeru-san, you can come in now." A female voice says from the door to Kazan's right, 'must be the doctor' he thinks to himself.

"Okay," Hinote replies "come Kazan it's time to go." Kazan follows with sluggish movements, obviously tired from all the waiting.

Once they enter the room, the female doctor soon identified as Doctor Kanao runs a few tests on Kazan and soon both father and son are seated opposite the doctor. "Yakeru-san, after all these tests I have concluded that youngKazan will get his quirk and a powerful one at that." the doctor says in a firm voice.

Kazan's face lights up after having to process what the doctor said, "Does that mean I can be a hero Dad!?" he excitedly shouts, his previous tiredness forgotten.

"His quirk will likely be a mix of your magma creation and your wife's flame control," Kanao replies for Hinote, "A perfect quirk for the future number one hero." Hinote continues. And his son gives him the biggest grin ever, Kazan continued being energetic that entire day

And the next day his quirk manifested.

A young Kazan was playing in the back yard of his house with his best friend Kaminari Denki, when suddenly they hear a sound of sizzling and a smell of burnt grass. Denki looks down and notices a weird red liquid running down Kazan's arm and scorching the grass, "WOAH DUDE LOOK!" he says while pointing at Kazan's arm.

"OH MY GOD I CAN MAKE LAVA... SO COOL," an excited Kazan screams after noticing what his friend was freaking out over. A few seconds later, a middle-aged woman presumably Kazan's mom Hikari, comes out wondering what the commotion is all about.

She notices her son sprinting up to her with her friend's son Denki while holding some red slime in his hand, "what's all the noise for, you know I get headaches easily." she says while rubbing her forehead in exasperation.

"MOM LOOK, I GOT MY QUIRK" Kazan continues to shout despite his mother's warning. She stares blankly at the red liquid her son produces before her brain realises what it is. And quickly disperses it with her quirk to the kid's disappointment, 'can't be too careful, especially with little kids and magma'. She thinks, remembering how Hinote burnt her dress on their first date on accident.

"Oh, you got your father's quirk, that's nice." she says while patting both their heads', they both blush slightly. "Your fathers at the lab right now but he should be back in an hour. We can surprise him when he gets back."

30 minutes later

"Hey Denki," Kazan says to get his best friend's attention.

"Yeah, what's up dude?" Kaminari replies, as a grin begins to spread across his face as he notices the glint in Kazan's eye.

"Now that we both have our quirks, we're gonna be the best heroes ever, right?" he asks his lifelong friend with a newfound confidence.

"Hell yeah dude, and we are gonna have all the girls calling our name's," Kaminari responds with a blush on his face, imagining all the girls wanting to hold his hand.

"Ew, girls are gross all they do is complain and talk 'bout dresses." Kazan replies with disgust on his face, "shut up. you're gross, all you do is sleep and watch tv" Denki says hurt by his friend's foolish words and looks away with a pout.

Kazan does the same and they continue their petty fight until the sound of a door opening reaches their ears. They both instantly react, Kazan running to the door and Kaminari jumping over the back of the couch and subsequently falling on his face in an attempt to see who it was. It turns out it was just a tired Hinote coming home from work. He greets his wife with a kiss and turns to his son, who is out of breath from running down a corridor. "Dad, I got my quirk. It's like yours isn't that cool".

"Really? can I see it", He asks politely, Kazan nods and with a look of concentration, he produces a small amount of burning hot magma. "Cool." was all Hinote said before he starts to smirk and proudly gloats "Hah, that's pretty good but it's still nowhere near my level." he states while flexing his arms in a similar position to All Might.

"SHUT IT OLD MAN" Kazan shouts, clearly annoyed by his father's attempt at a joke. Hinote laughs while Hikari smiles at the two main boys in her life.

"But in all seriousness, you come and listen too little Denki." Hinote starts, and Kaminari runs over, slightly rubbing his face. "Being a pro hero will require immense focus and hard work, will you meatheads be up for the challenge?" he asks the two boys in front of him. Both eagerly nod, visualising their dreams coming true.

"Good, then your training begins tomorrow." he states with a look of complete seriousness, something quite out of the ordinary for a light-hearted man like Hinote.
