Blue Beetle is definitely an underrated character. He doesn't have as much exposure as I think he deserves for someone who is basically a mix between Iron Man and Venom. Hopefully, his upcoming movie will change that.

Just one thing to keep in mind regarding these story ideas. I'm not the biggest fan of the color blue, and I know the character of Scarlet Scarab. The story would still feature Jaime Reyes, and he would be himself, just his armor would be a different color.

The ideas are:

Young Justice

What if instead of 2015, what is Jaime Reyes had been born five years earlier? What if he had come into contact with the scarab five years earlier? What if he had joined the team five years earlier, just before a certain magician girl?

A 'Jaime Joins the team as an original member' story.

(Might have made the pairing obvious when I mentioned magician.)

Mass Effect

Life is never easy for an Earthborn. Even if they manage to keep their family together, poverty and crime are often rampant. That was the life Jaime Reyes had.

That was until he found an alien artifact at a construction site.

(Am still not sure about a pairing. Maybe Miranda? Open to suggestions.)

Final Fantasy VII

Life in Midgar wasn't always the easiest, but people tried to make it work. Even with all the poverty, the people of the city tried their best to live their lives. Jaime Reyes was among those people, trying his best to forge a career for himself and support his family.

That was all he wanted.

So of course he had to get a metal bug stuck to his spine and have it turn him into a Shinra Outlaw. Because life just couldn't be simple, could it?

Avengers

When Tony Stark reached out for a new member of his team, he didn't go to New York. He went to Texas and me the Reyes family.

Jaime Reyes had only been the Scarlet Scarab for a few months at that point. He was still working on coming to a balance with the Scarab, which had an aggression problem. He is eager to work with Stark if it means finding a better method of self-control. But first, he has to help the Golden Avenger deal with a band break-up.

(The pairing might be Scarlet Witch. Just so I can make Scarlet-Scarlet jokes.)

Teen Titans

While Cyborg was busy being the new leader of Titans East, the original team needed a new tech member. That's when Robin learned about the new flying hero in Texas. And sent an invitation.

For someone who has only ever worked solo, how will Scarlet Scarab fare when he is put on a team with others?

(The paring would be with Raven. They can relate to having angry voices in their heads.)
