New Life in Zootopia

After Naruto was killed at the tender age of five, Kami had enough of the Elemental Nations, and used a portion of its power to send Naruto into another world, one where he could hopefully live a nice, happy life, and he got the love and support that he needed. [Naruto x Harem]

This is a challenge, and I took it from nightwolf65. I have also taken another challenge of him, and hopefully, I will be able to get that one up and running in the future!

Important Notes; In this challenge, Nick is female, and goes by the name of Nicole! I will also be using a female OC by the name of Aerial Otterton, that I was allowed to use thanks to nightwolf65 giving me permission to do so!

Chapter 1

In the village of Konohagakure, everything seemed fine in the world, the sun was shining down upon the village, with little to no clouds in the sky, the birds were singing their songs in the surrounding trees, creating a rich atmosphere that was very hard to come by.

There were also plenty of civilians going by their daily lives, either doing some errands, buying groceries, or doing their jobs.

However, not everything was all sunshine and rainbows.

In fact, for one young individual, today seemed dark and dreary, with little to no hope that it would improve for this particular day, or the next day. With having so little to do, he couldn't just go outside and make some friends to pass time, as everyone seemed to avoid him like he was a plague, or if people did see him, then they were sending him these fearful or complete look of hatred to him, and he didn't know why that was the case.

This individual, was the five-year-old boy, who was named Naruto Uzumaki, the Jinchuriki of the Kyuubi – not that he knew of course – and that was the feeling that he had every day, ever since he was kicked out of the orphanage under the pretense that he made 'everything worse'.

However, unknown to him, today would be much worse than normal, however, it would also become the best thing to ever happen with him in his short little life.

Because at the end of the day, Naruto would finally have a family. Sure, it might not be in the same dimension, but everything comes with a price.

Naruto Uzumaki, a small, malnourished five-year-old kid, with bright blonde hair, three whisker-like markings on both cheeks and entrancing blue eyes that sparkled with happiness – but also a deep sadness – was sitting in the living room of his quickly deteriorating apartment - the landlord had decided to not even attempt at rebuilding said apartment, ever since he moved in – and he was resting his chin upon his hands, as he merely stared at the dying plant that was sitting on the windowsill, its colors have long since wilted from the brilliant green they were before, to a dull browny color.

"Come on, little buddy." Naruto said, before he lifted his chin up slightly, before he brought up his hands and gently brushed them over the small, dying plant, "You can do it..." He murmured out, almost willing that this plant was healthy.

It didn't deserve to die and shrivel up like this.

He didn't understand what he was doing wrong. He watered it carefully – sure, maybe a little too much at times – and he gave it plenty of sunlight, and covering. But for some reason, no matter what he did, it just always ended up shriveling up, and spewing a liquid that burnt through the top layer of soil that it was placed in, and the liquid it was spewing out did not smell good, nor was it a pleasant sensation to touch itself.

However, once again, as soon as Naruto's hands were away from the shriveling plant, it suddenly started to regain color, turning into the greenish color like many of its brethren scattered throughout the village, and it even straightened up, looking like the proud plant it was supposed to be.

Seeing the plant like that again, Naruto couldn't help but smile lightly as once again his hands gently brushed against the reinvigorated plant.

He didn't know why, but whenever he did that, to that plant or any other plant he came into contact with, they seemed to become healthier, and less deathly. He didn't know why it happened, but he was glad that it did, otherwise, his one and only friend would've been well and truly dead by now.

Yes, Naruto was so lonely, that this measly plant in his apartment was his only friend. On particularly off days, Naruto would speak to it, talk about his hunger, talk about his loneliness, and sometimes, even talk about his dreams to this plant, even though it never spoke back to him, he knew, deep down, it was listening to him.

Why else would it give occasional shakes to him after he spoke? Even when there was no breeze about.

"You know, when I was hired, they didn't tell me it was a mere child I was supposed to kill." A voice suddenly spoke out. The tone of voice was obviously male.

Yelping loudly, Naruto quickly spun around on his heels, and he was met with a rather large and imposing man that was balding and had a rather fierce looking moustache, however, he also had a few scars on his face that had healed over, and around his neck, was a headband that did not belong to Konoha.

However, the key feature that Naruto spotted, despite being shit scared, was the fact that this man seemed to be heavily conflicted, and his eyes showed that the best.

"Huh?" Naruto ever so eloquently muttered out, his eyes wide in confusion and slight fear.

The man simply brought his hand over his face and brought it down to his chin, breathing in deeply as he did. It was really obvious that this man didn't want to do this.

Sure, he was a ninja, and he did do killings and assassinations, but he did have some morals and rules. One of them, was that he would never kill a child. Despite being in a time where peace was not a great option or even a plan for most, he believed that children were innocent, and the only time when that didn't apply was when they got their first kills as possible Genin.

"Look, kid-" The man begun, but he was quickly cut off.

"My name is Naruto! Not kid!" Naruto quickly lashed out, telling the man his name.

Blinking a few times, the man looked a little bamboozled as he was just possibly scolded by a kid, "Right... Naruto." He said, using his name this time, "You know that I must kill you... I got paid to do that." He explained, before quickly looking away from the from kid, not wanting to actually see the face of the child drop into despair.

"Oh..." Naruto murmured out again, gently rubbing his arm with his hand as he looked down to the floor. However, he suddenly seemed to perk up, before he quickly grabbed the plant that he called his only friend, "Only if you let me hold onto my only friend!"

The man did a double take, his head snapping back up towards Naruto, a look of sheer disbelief on his face. For a moment, he really thought that the kid wanted to embrace death with a friend, however, when the man saw that he was holding a mere plant, he seemed to understand somewhat.

This kid had no friends... and by quickly placing together from what his 'employer' said that he was a 'demon', and if he was being honest... this kid was no demon. There was no possible way that this kid was a demon.

He didn't want to kill him... but, he was bound on his word, and the employer had made sure to be extremely careful when it concerned him, such as that seal that was placed upon his tongue, and if he didn't do his job, or he ran away, then it would somehow activate and kill him... and he didn't want to test it out if it was bullshit, that inherent fear was too strong.

Sighing softly, the man closed his eyes, "Alright, Naruto." He said, before reaching down and grabbing a kunai from his pouch that was wrapped around his right leg, "You're a good kid... it's just a shame that it has come to this." He spoke out, before raising the kunai high in the air.

Naruto gained a few tears in his eyes as he clutched onto his plant even tighter, "Thank you..." He murmured out softly, allowing a single tear to fall.

Yet, everything went black for him, as a moment later, everything felt like it had just stopped, and complete and utter darkness was met with him.

With blood splattered all over him, and the kunai buried deeply into the boy's skin, the mercenary brought it out of the boy, almost wincing as the messy noises that followed as the weapon was pulled free, and even more blood started to splatter along the rotten floorboards.

"I'm sorry..." He murmured out, however, he had to quickly shield his eyes as a brilliant white light soon engulfed the boy, "What the?!"

In a realm that was far too fantastical, and even too incomprehendible to mere mortals, there was a certain being, and that certain being was not impressed. Not one bit.

Kami, despite all the myths/rumors from the cultists of the world, or even the stories that had somehow stuck within the minds of many people, was not a male, nor was it a female.

It was merely a being of pure energy and power. It had no need for a form, nor did it have a need to have a specific gender tied down to it.

The reason why this being of pure power and energy was upset, was because of the actions revolving around the 'Child of the Prophecy', the child that was meant to finally bring peace, harmony and balance to its very first creation, to complete the unthinkable and unobtainable idea of 'Peace' to a land filled with hatred, war and ridicule.

It had been able to give every single summon of the Elemental Nations a note of this 'Prophecy', yet it was thoroughly disappointed when instead of making sure to get the Prophecy fulfilled, and being on the constant look out for this child, instead, they twisted and contorted the prophecy to their sake, bringing on an entire new side of things that was never said, nor was even possible.

'Bring the downfall of the world if they step into darkness' they said. Bah! Complete and absolute rubbish. Being granted this special gift that it bestowed upon that person, they would be unable to be corrupted, nor will they ever be swayed to the dark side, no matter how hard any outside force tried.

However, somehow, someway, Yami – Kami's complete opposite in all aspects of the word – somehow managed to taint and disgrace the world even further, bringing forth hatred, isolation, and loneliness to its 'child', and it continued to grow in power and danger, and it continued to boil, until there was every single possibility, no matter what was changed or shifted, and it would eventually boil over, and harsh decisions would be made.

And unfortunately, the boiling point had just broken everything. Now, the Elemental Nations, was forever doomed to suffer in the cycle of hatred, with no single way to break it.

Kami would do nothing about it. No matter how many prayers, pleas or even sacrifices would be made. In its eyes, the Elemental Nations was no longer something that it could even think about, and thus, it decided to turn its back completely on it.

No longer would it care for if the Elemental Nations were to suffer upon endless wars and loss of lives.

That was their punishment that they brought upon themselves when they killed its Chosen One, the one who was meant to bring peace and harmony to the world.

Feeling a small, yet equally powerful part of itself fade; Kami quickly used but a slight fraction of its overwhelming power, and in its presence, was its Chosen One.

As Kami looked over its chosen, it couldn't help but to feel pity for the poor boy. To be taken out so cruelly, and at such a young age was a tragedy, but it could do something about it. As it focused another fraction of its power, before the chosen one was enveloped by a soft, golden glow.

With a small utterance that was unable to be deciphered by the human mind, Naruto soon vanished. Vanished into another world that it helped look over. Although not being a major being in that world, it still did have a small say in the world.

He would have to deal with a pesky little sheep and her band of goons, and it was positive there would be something attempted on Naruto on said sheep, but at least it had complete confidence that Naruto wouldn't be fooled by her.

Sure, a few metaphorical strings need to be pulled, along with a potential favor, but it was willing to do that. Perhaps in this world, peace can be achieved, although it will be severely different than what it originally intended for its chosen one.

Now, with its Chosen One gone, off into the embrace of another world, this one being untainted by Yami's influence, it decided to visit an old acquaintance. It had a favor that needed to be done for it, and Kami, now fully out of love, was able to have the greatest trade in existence.

If the Shinigami was willing to return the mother of the Chosen One, then Kami was willing to give over all control that it had over the Elemental Nations, and give it all to the God of Death, and it could hold an influence on the actions of any and all mortals that it chose.

Which didn't bode well for the Elemental Nations, as there was no longer any good influence left looking over that particular world, only the beings of Chaos, and the God of Death were to look over it, with no balancing force.

In the rather large town – thanks to all the resident rabbits - called Bunnyburrow, laying on the outskirts of the major town, a few miles away from the large commercial district, there was a simple house that had five bedrooms, and a few other rooms, including a kitchen, laundry and two bathrooms, that belonged to an average family and it even had a small gray pickup truck parked in the driveway, along with a small abundance of flowers lining said driveway, along with a few pretty hedges that were neat and tidy lining the fence line.

However, underneath that house, unseen by any outsiders, there was a burrow underneath, which allowed for more space to be used if it was needed, and it did provide for a cooler resting area if it ever got too hot during the Summer months.

This particular house belonged to one of the many fox residents, and despite the negative stereotypes coming from the fox species – some of which were downright ridiculous or not try – this couple were as nice as can be, and they wouldn't hurt a fly.

The only unfortunate thing was about that family, was that Charlotte, and nice fox lady, was unable to have kits of her own, as her body just couldn't handle the additional stress on her body. In the past, there had been successful early stages of pregnancies, however, within the first month of pregnancy, everything would go downhill, resulting in a stillborn baby, and lots of heartbreak.

Despite all the improvements in the medical industry, and with new and improved fertility drugs, Charlotte and her husband – or mate, as they liked to be called – Gary, was not willing to go through the heartbreak yet again, and that was one of the main reasons why both Gary and Charlotte were both working in the education industry, with Gary being the teacher for English, and Charlotte was a daycare worker, where she always had her hands full with all the adorable little bunny children – and on the occasion, some other kits.

Little did they know, on this particular evening, that their lives would change forever, and in a good way, although, despite all the attention that it would receive in the coming days, then they would've loved to avoid that.

It was a simple evening for the Moore family, they had just finished their dinner – which was another brilliant homemade recipe by Charlotte – and they were currently relaxing, watching the news on their television in the living room.

There was a nice, comfortable silence as they both watched the news, waiting for anything in particular to standout, even though it was very rare for Bunnyburrow to have anything that would be out of the ordinary.

However, things got a little too boring for Gary, as his ears twitched in annoyance, and his brilliant brown eyes soon fell upon the clock that was hanging on the wall just opposite side of him, seeing the time, he turned towards his beautiful wife, who looked to be a little bit bored as well, as she seemed to struggle keeping her eyes open, "Dear." His voice had a hint of a light accent as he called out to her, garnering her attention.

Ears twitching slightly, she turned her brilliant blue eyes towards her husband, "Yes, deary?" She responded, showing that despite being slightly tired, her voice was still as smooth as honey, but still having a definite country accent – one of the main reasons why the small children loved her so much.

"Should we retire for the night? You seem a bit tired." He asked her, standing up, showing that he stood at around 4'3 in height, and his dusty orange fur had a slightly lighter patch just underneath his chin and travelled downwards, before it disappeared underneath his simple brown pajamas that had checkered patterns.

She seemed to contemplate for a few moments, her eyes lingering on the news report currently happening, however, when it turned out to be another little article about a prank that was caused at the local mall, she decided that it was best to retire for the night. It also helped that she had an early morning tomorrow, "Sure." She simply said, before standing up herself, showing that she stood at 4', and that she had honey-brown fur, with a few lighter patches around her eyes, nose and face, and the tips of her ears were also a darker shade then her fur.

As she stood up, she quickly fixed her creamy dressing gown that had a few simple floral patterns on it, so it was covering more of her body, because it was getting a little chilly, and she wasn't a massive fan of the cold.

Flashing a rather lopsided grin towards his wife, Gary was about to head up to bed, however, his ears suddenly twitched rapidly, and his nose twitched as he continued to sniff around, a hint of confusion apparent in his eyes as he sensed something... wasn't quite right.

"Dear?" Charlotte questioned, a hint of confusion in her voice as she slowly approached her husband, before pinching him slightly.

"Ow!" He yelped out, his paws quickly rubbing his cheek, quickly looking to his wife, his ears drooped lightly, "What was that for!?"

Rolling her eyes, Charlotte placed a hand on her hip and raised a delicate brow, "You didn't respond to me." She said, like it was merely talking about the weather, "What's gotten you like this?" She questioned, before using her hands to use a loose gesture regarding how he was acting.

"Oh..." He murmured out, rubbing the back of his head, but his nose just wouldn't stop picking up a new scent that was unfamiliar with him, "It's just... I'm picking up a new scent..." He said, before his gave a few more sniffs of the area, even going as far to turn around to try to pinpoint the exact location.

Not believing her husband, Charlotte started to give a few, tentative sniffs of her own, and her eyes widened, "I smell it too!" She exclaimed out, "It smells like-" She said, before taking another sniff, before her eyes were drawn to front door that led to the porch, "-It's on the front porch!"

Without another word, Charlotte scurried off towards the front door, her footsteps echoing around the hallway, and it took Gary a few moments before he too started to race towards the front door.

Briefly coming to the door, Charlotte placed her hand upon the handle, but before she even turned it, her ears flicked and she turned her attention towards her husband. Giving a gentle nod of reassurance to each other, she took a deep breath before opening the door inward, so they could see what lay behind it.

Almost immediately, the scent of blood reached their senses, and Charlotte gave a sharp gasp of shock as she saw a small child – a human child no less! - absolutely covered in blood, with no visible wound present, and immediately, she noticed a small potted plant that was within the immediate area that wasn't there previously, and she also noticed two scrolls nearby that looked extremely important.

"A... child?" Gary muttered out, almost in disbelief as he looked down at the bloodied boy on their porch, "A human child?" He murmured out again, his disbelief clearing fogging his common sense up at the moment, as he stared, absolutely dumbfounded at the sight before him.

"We need to get him to the hospital!" Charlotte barked out, that ingrained maternal instincts that seemed to be present in all females flared to life, and this... child, needed help!

It didn't matter for the fact that it was an oddity, or nigh impossible for a human child to be around in the first place, as it was common knowledge that humans went extinct thousands of years ago.

"Right." Gary said, snapping out of his stupor as he made his way towards the child, and gently picked him up, making sure not to aggravate any possible wounds, and quickly made his way over towards the pickup truck, and Charlotte followed suit, carrying two scrolls that was nearby, and also carrying the small potted plant that the child was holding onto.

END CHAPTER

Alright, this is my very first venture into this sort of crossover, and I hope that I didn't do too bad... please let me know on how I did, and please do give some constructive criticism to go along with it!

Once again, I would like to say that there is a Genderbend, and that is Nick, he will be a female, and will be named Nicole.

Harem; Judy Hopps, Nicole Wilde, Aerial Otterton [OC Belonging to nightwolf65] and Kushina Uzumaki. There may be more additions in the future, but I am not too sure about that.

This was a challenge that I decided to take off of nightwolf65! I hope I did alright!
