Note: Hey guys, I've been debating if I should even do this for awhile now, but I decided to do it anyway. Recently, I've not really liked the direction I was really taking the previous one. Like, I felt like Chaz was a little too soft a character in the previous fic, not to mention there was a lot more things that I felt like could've been worked a little better. As far as I know, this is the last time I'm ever attempting to start over on any fic ever.

Please, enjoy.

It was just another night in the town of Simport, Maine...

During the day, the town was normally silent. People would go to work, or hang out with friends, or just doing anything that's rather calm. But when night comes around, that is when the real fun starts, as the town itself is well-known to be the only town in Maine to be known for its parties. That pretty much explains the multiple club buildings that were located all around the town.

For one person, this town was once her home until she left for about a couple years, but now she was returning to it. It was almost weird having to return to this town, since the town she was previously in was...a lot more silent at night than this one. Then again, she did have friends and family who lived here too, especially her own father. So, a large part of her was happy to be returning to this town and seeing everybody that she use to know again.

The town's monorail stops at a station that was located in the Main Street area of the town. Only one person was stepping off of it tonight, which was a girl who has shoulder-length dark brown hair and freckles. She was wearing a dark blue baseball cap, a black jacket with a light blue t-shirt underneath, and baggy dark blue cargo pants, as well as a black backpack. She appeared to be carrying a skateboard by her side as she was getting off of the monorail cart. Once she got off of the vehicle, she immediately went down the stairs to search for somebody who was waiting for her around this spot.

Taking a quick glance at this part of the town, the girl saw that nothing was really changed since she lost saw it. The street hasn't changed, the hair salon and Gino's Pizzeria are still there, and heck, even the news-stand was still in the same place as she saw it last. She could even see her father's workplace right across the street still, which actually delighted her. Her delight was short-lived, however, as the sound of someone's voice rang out nearby.

"Well...I was wondering when you were going to show up." A female voice said from nearby.

The girl quickly turned her head towards the direction where she heard that voice, seeing another girl standing nearby. This girl has short black hair, and wore a purple shirt with a black vest over it, as well as a red plaid skirt with black and white striped leggings underneath. This girl smiled at her friend, before taking a couple steps closer to her.

"It's been too long, Katie." The girl with the black hair said with a smile. "How was Augusta?"

"It was good, thanks for asking Crystal." Katie told her friend. The two girls began to walk off towards the sidewalk so that they can walk on to Katie's house. "So...how's my dad doing? Has he been doing alright after I went up to college?"

Crystal nodded her head as she placed her hands in her pockets. "Pretty much, yeah." She then turns her head towards Katie, just as they were entering the suburban area of the town. "He hasn't really done anything outside of working at the dentist, as far as I know. But...what I do know is that he's been missing you ever since you left a year ago. Especially after...well, you came back that...one time..."

Katie nodded her head, as her casual smile turned into a depressed frown. "Yeah...I know..." She sighed, before she then gave Crystal a smile and a pat on the back. "Well, I'm sure that he's going to be happy when he discovers that I finally decided to come work with him at his dentist now. I believe I'm ready to actually work there."

"That's...good to know, I guess..." Crystal then rubs her chin, curious about something else. "But...um...what about your cousin? What's he going to do?"

"Well...I told him that I was planning on leaving college, and he's totally fine with it. But...he's planning on staying instead of coming back to Simport with me though." Katie then groans, before the two of them stopped at the corner of the block they were on. "...But...hey, he and I have been talking for awhile, and...can you keep a secret?" Crystal nods her head, before Katie continued to talk. "Awesome...well, you know he told my dad before that he was planning on working at the dentist alongside him too after college, right?"

"Yeah. He told me."

"Right...well, earlier this January, he told me that recently, he's changed his mind about that. He's now planning on possibly becoming an agent down at the SPA Agency after one more year there."

"Really?" Crystal raises an eyebrow as the two of them began to walk across the crosswalk. "What made him want to do that?"

The tomboy shrugged her shoulders. "I'm not really sure. We don't really talk to each other whenever he's off studying at the library. So...your guess is as good as mine." Katie sighed, before placing a hand in one of her jacket pockets. "Whatever happens, I just hope that my dad isn't too disappointed to hear that he changed his mind about that."

"I don't know, dude. I don't know." Crystal then pats her friend on the back, before giving her a smile. "But you know what? We don't have to worry about that, alright? You're back in Simport, and that's all that matters." She then points forward. "Let's just continue walking to your house. It shouldn't be too far now."

"Good idea." The two agreed to leave the conversation at that, and then they continued to walk off to Katie's house.

A couple minutes passed, and Crystal and Katie finally arrive at where the latter lives.

It felt like it's been ages since she's been at her house own house. It has been an entire year since she had seen this place, and to her, it felt like longer than that. There was only one time when she showed came back to Simport, and that day, she didn't even go to her house. But regardless, she was happy to see it once again.

The two girls began to make their way up to the front door of the house. Once they got up to it, Katie proceeded to knock on the door first, hoping that her father answers the door for her and Crystal. She stood back and waited a couple seconds. After a couple seconds had passed, Katie's father finally answers the door for the both of them.

The door opens, revealing a man with dark brown hair like Katie, but was short rather than long. He also wore a purple button-down dress shirt with black dress pants. The man took a look at Crystal for a couple seconds, before looking over to Katie. When he did, his normal bored look quickly became a smile the moment he saw her standing there.

"Kathryn." The man said as he stepped out of his house. "Welcome home, dear. I missed you."

Katie smiled back at her father, as she stepped forward and hugged him. "Oh, I missed you too, dad." The tomboy said. The two stopped hugging, then backed away from each other. "Anyway, I got some good news about me now that I'm here."

"Really now?" Katie nodded her head after her father asked her that. "What might that be?"

"Well, you know I said the day I was going to take off to college that I'll give it some thought if I want to work at your dentist, right?" Katie's father nodded his head, before his daughter gave him a smile and then continued to talk. "Well, I finally decided that I want to work there along with you."

Katie's father smile, before rubbing his daughter on her baseball cap. "That's my girl."

"Um...hey, I'm glad that you guys finally reunited at all, but...can I go now?" Crystal asked her best friend while pointing behind herself. "I was meant to be somewhere after I went to visit you at the monorail."

Katie turns her head towards her best friend, before nodding her head. "Of course you can, Crystal." The tomboy said, before she and her father stepped into the house. "I'll hopefully see you tomorrow, alright dude?"

"Alright. Later."

Katie stood there by the door, watching her best friend make her way over to the sidewalk. She genuinely wished that she could've allowed Crystal to stay for at least a little bit longer, but unfortunately, it was about forty minutes passed Midnight since Katie had arrived here in Simport, so she wasn't able to. The tomboy continued to watch her best friend leave until she wasn't able to see her anymore. Once Crystal was out of her sights, that was when Katie finally closed the door.

After Katie closed the door, she turns around, seeing that the house hasn't changed after she left for Augusta. Everything from the furniture to the stuff on top of the tables don't appear to have been moved a single inch. All in all, the interior of the house was just like how she remembered it.

"So how was college, Kathryn?" Katie's father asked his daughter. "Also, how has my nephew been doing? I haven't heard from him lately."

"Well, you know him. He's always studying rather than having any time to chat on the phone, or going off to one of the parties or anything." Katie told her father, before scoffing out a chuckle. "Anyways...him aside, everything's been pretty good up there. I've been studying more on how to use some of the equipment that's used in your dentist the most out of everything there. Either way, everything's been good if you ask me."

"Ah..." Katie's father said while nodding his head. "...I'm glad to hear that."

"Unfortunately though, he told me that he thinks he needs some more time before he could come back to Simport. He really wants to try to learn a couple more things before he feels like coming back."

"Alright."

"Anyways..." Katie takes her backpack off, before holding onto it by the handle on top of it. "...I believe I'll start unpacking tomorrow morning. It's getting pretty late already." The tomboy hugs her father one last time, before walking over to the stairs. "I'll see you in the morning, dad."

"I'll see you in the morning too, Kathryn." After the two hugged, Katie went up the stairs and immediately went to her bedroom.

Once Katie got up to her bedroom, she entered the room, seeing that nothing has changed. From the bed, to the desk, to her closet, to even her own bathroom appearing to have been untouched. Even the more smaller stuff like her laptop, posters, and books didn't appear to have been moved. All of which, was good enough for her.

Katie places her backpack on the chair near her desk, then went over to her dresser to change into her pajamas. After she changed, she laid down onto her bed and then stared at the ceiling for a couple seconds trying to get herself tired. Eventually, Katie ended up falling asleep.

'It's great to be back at Simport...' Katie said in her thoughts.
