Look, I just wanted to write some Luzkara fluff, okay?! I couldn't help myself! XD
It wouldn't be hyperbole to say Skara was nervous.
It was only recently that Luz Noceda, the resident Human at Hexside, revealed she had a crush on her and asked her out on a date. Skara, still stunned by the revelation, said yes without having much of an idea of what she was supposed to do.
And now here she was, sitting on a rock next to a river, waiting for Luz to arrive so she could... teach her how to play an instrument...
She didn't know why, but that didn't feel like something you'd do on a date.
"Hi, Skara!"
Luz's angelic voice caught the musician's attention, and she turned around to see Luz approach her, flashing a cheerful smile as the human girl sat down next to her.
"Sorry if I made you wait," Luz said as she took out a peculiar object: an ocarina. "This is the only instrument I could find in Eda's junk."
"And is she okay with you grabbing it?"
"My garbage is your garbage," she said, although I feel she made an exception since I'm on a date," Luz chuckled. "Anyway, will this work?"
"Yup, in fact..." Skara reached for her back and took out a purple ocarina. "I got one myself!"
"Twinsies!" the girls said in unison before bumping ocarinas, sharing a hearty laugh shortly after.
Once the laughter stopped, the lesson promptly began:
"Okay, so, obviously, the ocarina's a wind instrument, so you gotta blow some air on the extended pipe at the side. Like this."
Skara put a finger on one of the holes, then blew the pipe, creating a short, sweet tone.
"Now you try."
Luz obliged, putting a finger on the hole, then taking a deep breath before she blew the pipe as hard as she could.
What came out was a five-second long cacophony of noise that made the animals around panic.
"So, how was I?!" Luz chirped once she finished.
"Well, you played it alright," Skara frowned with a nervous smile. "You just blew it a little too hard."
Luz frowned. "Really?"
"You're supposed to breath softly into it; take a brief breath, not enough breath to give someone CPR."
Taking the advice into account, Luz took a short breath, and played again. The resulting tune was much more relaxing.
Skara nodded, and promptly took a deep breath, putting a finger on one hole briefly before removing it and putting it on the next hole, rinse and repeat until she ran out of holes, and breath.
And needless to say, Luz managed to replicate the example perfectly.
"That's it! You're getting the hang of it!"
"Yeah, I am, aren't I?" Luz chuckled. "Hey, Skara, before we continue-"
"Yes?"
"I'd like to thank You. For not turning me down or running away screaming or something when I asked for this."
Skara raised an eyebrow. "Why would I do that? You're much easier on the eyes compared to the average creature in the Boiling Isles."
Luz blushed and looked away. "Geez, thanks."
Skara blushed in return, realizing her flirt. "Your welcome."
An awkward silence enveloped between the girls, one that was broken when Luz decided to rest her head in Skara's shoulder. Seeing this, the musician smiled amused:
"Repeat after me, okay?"
Skara began playing a tune, and Luz soon followed, the girls playing their ocarinas while watching the sunset in the distance.
