DRABBLE 1 : Stolen Moments

"I have a cold," Tyson sneezed again. Loudly. Painfully. The inner walls of his nose bruising.

Kai, sitting a few feet away from him on the dojo floor, put his launcher down. The others had left a while ago. They were alone. They were free from scrutiny. "Come here," he whispered.

Tyson moved across clumsily, wrapped in a blanket to keep himself warm. He stared warily at Kai when he reached him. The older teen's eyes were welcoming. Almost soft. Tyson braved a hand out of his cocoon to touch Kai's knee.

The other boy didn't make a move to huddle him closer. He waited for the dragon-wielder to gather the courage and settle against his side on his own. Kai let out a tiny sigh when Tyson's head rested on his shoulder. He scooped him into his arms then, burying his nose in the younger boy's hair. "You shouldn't have come to training today," he said in a low voice. "You've sneezed like a hundred times."

"I get miserable when I sit still."

Kai's chest was a solid comforting cushion against his cold cheek. Tyson snuffled.

"I was worried for you," admitted the Dranzer-wielder. "You looked frail all day."

Tyson smiled sweetly, tucking his feet beneath Kai's thighs, marveling in his heat. "You're so warm."

Kai raised his chin to brush a kiss against his chapped lips, careful not to nudge his nose and trigger another bout of "HAAAAAAAAAARGHCHOOOO!". Tyson's teeth showed as his grin grew wider. They only got the chance to be like this when no one else was around. Treat each other with care and affection, not worried about who was watching or listening. Only when the rest of the gang went home and the walls of the dojo echoed with silence. "Hold my hand?"

Kai laced his fingers with Tyson's, admiring the way they fit perfectly. "Want some hot water?"

"Yeah" he said with a feverish exhale.
