Twenty-six year, old Saiko Yonebayashi, fell asleep in the bar's table. She will go there alot but it was rare when she got drunk. This time she drank more than before and fell asleep. The waiter walked to her slowly and had to shake her up a bit. "Ma'am, we are about to close. Is one past midnight."
She groaned and sat up. "Midnight?"
"That's right, ma'am."
She sighed and took the money out of her black purse and paid. Feeling a bit dizzy and sleepy, she stood up and walked out. It had rained alot recently so the streets were filled with puddles. Tokyo was filled with people walking and cars driving around even when it was raining so much.
She walked slowly towards her apartment, which wasn't too far away. She just hope that her brother hadn't caused any trouble. The last time she had seen him was in the academy and he was gone. But now they reunited again and he went to live with her.
She walked in the building and got in the elevator. It wasn't a surprise to find the neighbor and a cop talking to him when she entered into her place. "Saiko!" he grinned, "my sister is here!"
"Now what happened?" she asked.
"Your brother had a big party and the music was super loud!" the man said.
"Please, can you let it pass this time? I promise that Kaito won't cause any more problems. And if he does, I will personaly call the police." Saiko looked at the man and at the cop. Kaito looked at her.
"You are willing to call the cops..."
"Yes, I am!" Saiko raised her voice at him.
"Okay, only this time!" the neighbor crossed his arms and left, fallowed by the cop. Saiko closed the door and looked around. "Look at this mess! You will clean all of this right now!"
"Yeah? And where were you?"
"I was working."
"And I smell alcohol."
"I went to drink when I finished. I do work so I can pay the rent of this place, buy food and pay our bills, since someone that I'm looking at right now, doesn't want to help! My job isn't easy. There are still so many Dragon Orphans out there."
"I already told you I will get a job. Just give me time."
"What? Time? You already had enough time! If you don't work, Kaito, I will send you back to mom's."
"I'm not going back to that witch's farm!"
"How dare you call her like that?"
"You still defend her? After all she did to you? Damn it, Saiko!"
He got up from the couch and stomp to his room. She sighed. Kaito reminded her of when she was a Quinx. Now she knew how the rest of the Quinx felt. After getting into comfy clothes and had calm down a bit, she went to Kaito's room. He was laying down and playing on his phone.
She sighed. "Kaito, if you get a job, you can help us to stay here and buy more things." She smiled, "buy more games and more chips."
Kaito put the phone down and smiled. "Fine, tomorrow morning I will go out to look."
"Really?"
"Yes."
She ruffled his hair. "I don't want to wake up tomorrow and see the mess in the living room."
"Don't worry. I will clean it."
She walked out of his room and headed to hers. After opening the window a bit so the breeze the rain brough went in, she sat on her bed and took some painkillers from her drawer. She had a terrible headache. A photo got her attention. She didn't remember having it there. Probably because of how busy she was.
She took it out of the drawer. It was the Quinx Squad photo. There was Tooru with her soft smile and Urie with his serious face. She smiled when she saw Shirazu. "I have to go to his grave. Need to leave some time for that."
Her smile faided when her eyes got to Haise. She saw Urie and Tooru almost everyday but it had been years since the last time she saw Kaneki. She heard he still got that cafe shop and that Touka was going to have second child. She missed him. Missed his voice, his advices, even the way he trained. A tear rolled down her cheek and she put the photo away.
It began to rain again and she heard alot of thunder. Many tears rolled down her face as she laid down and covered herself up, looking at her window. That night, she dreamed a memory from years ago. When she was so afraid of thunder and couldn't sleep. She got off her bed and walked to the hallway. The guys were sleeping and she headed to Haise's room. She was suppose to knock first but she didn't care and walked in. Haise was sleeping peacefully.
A loud clap of thunder made her run to his bed. "Maman." She shook him.
He opened his eyes slowly, groaning. "What's wrong, Saiko?" He asked with a croaked voice.
She covered her ears when lightning iluminated the room. Haise smiled and sat up. He picked her up and sat her on his lap, wrapping his arms around her. She hid her face in his chest, feeling protected.
"Is okay, Saiko, please don't be afraid. I'm here for you and will never leave you."
