Chapter 1
"CT-1409" Six shock troopers appeared in the doorway of the Bad Batch's barracks, "come with us." Hunter, Crosshair, Tech, Echo, and Wreaker looked in the direction of the voices.
"Is that an order?" Hunter mockingly said looking back at the game of cards they were all playing.
"It's, a demand," the troopers said walking into the room heading for echo.
Suddenly Hunter stepped in front of the trooper that was heading towards Echo, "now where do you think you're going?"
"Ct-1409 is coming with us."
"like hell he is," Hunter spat, "we all stick together."
The trooper nodded looking at the floor then suddenly knocked hunter in the jaw sending him to the floor. Crosshair was the first to pull out his weapon and start shooting at the six shock troopers. He was able to take down half of them before taking a knife to the shoulder. Wreaker jumped on one and immediately got electrocuted by the lead trooper there.
"Alright enough!" Echo yelled, "let's go."
With that Echo left with the shock troopers looking back at his brothers with worry and concern for both them and himself.
"What do you think they want with Echo?" Wreaker asked his brothers.
"no idea," Tech responded patching Crosshairs injured shoulder, "But whatever it is, it cant be good."
"I guess we'll just have to wait until he gets back." Hunter said
Echo followed the troopers down the hall into what looked like a med bay. After one of the troopers' motions for him to lay on the table echo hesitated but complied. As he laid their memories from his time on Skako Minor came flooding back. His breath started to hitch and increase in speed. It's ok, calm down. Like Hunter showed you, breath in for 4 seconds, hold, out for 8. Echo thought to himself as he tried to calm down.
"You know what your doing?" Tarkin asked looking through the glass watching the droids prep Echo.
"of course, Echo sustained damage while on Skako Minor which damaged his inhibitor chip. With some work and modifications we can reprogram that chip to start working again." Nala Se said typing more information into the data pad. "We are ready to start the process whenever you are ready."
"Proceed," Tarkin said, then turned and walked out of the room.
With that Nala Se nodded to the two medical droids who backed away from Echo as he was moved into the chamber.
Echo's breathing increased once more as he was moved into the small space of the chamber that reminded him all to much of the one that held him on Skako Minor. Two medal rods come out of the wall and positioned themselves side by side near Echo's head and suddenly pain filled his skull. He clutched his fist in a ball and tighten his jaw as the pain radiated through his body. He tried to get away from the pain but suddenly restraints come up out of the table and clamped over his wrists, biceps, waist and ankles. He couldn't help it, a scream escaped his lips as the pain expanded through his body.
Hunter and Tech were playing another game of cards while Crosshair was laying down on his bed resting while Wreaker was distracted by his Lula. Suddenly the doors opened to their barracks and Echo walked in looking extremely pale and very out of it, it didn't even look like Echo was even present. Everyone stood up from what they were doing and watched as the guards shoved Echo into the room and then left, closing the doors behind them. Echo stood there for a moment, no hint of life in his eyes before he blinked really slowly and started to head towards his bunk. He got about one step before he stumbled and his legs gave out on him. Wreaker was able to catch Echo before he hit the floor.
"Easy, easy," Hunter said as Wreaker slowly brought Echo to the floor. Tech and Crosshair got there once Echo was on the floor. "Don't – don't move him," Hunter was worried, you could tell by the way he talked. All that echo had already been through before joining the Bad Batch made him more fragile and weaker then the rest. Echo was still recovering and trying to get his strength back after being a human computer for a year.
"Tech," Hunter started his sentence before Tech cut him off already knowing what Hunter wanted from him.
"Already on it," Tech replied having his medical equipment already out and scanning Echo for anything to explain why their brother just collapsed on the floor.
"Anything?" Crosshair jumped in casually chewing on his toothpick.
"Not yet. I can't find any signs as to what would cause Echo to collapse, his vitals are normal, blood pressure, heart rate, even his mechanical equiptment and parts are all normal and well taken care of." Tech said eyeing his screen for anything to give him answers.
"Are we safe to move him at least?" Wreaker said, "I don't think the floor looked very comfy."
"We can move him to his bed Wreaker,"
Wreaker smiled slightly, he was glad that he was able to move his brother to some place more comfortable. That smile disappear when Wreaker shifted Echo's weight to move him to his bed and his brother groaned as pain flooded through him.
Wreaker stopped what he was doing and looked back at Tech who was right behind him. Tech just nodded to proceed. The sooner they got him on his bed then sooner that pain would most likely go away.
Once Echo was on his bunk Tech returned to his side doing scan after scan to try and find a conculion as to what happened to his vod.
"Rest tech, hes stable, you told me yourself. We will just have to let him rest and wait for him to wake up so he can tell us himself what those good for nothing clones did to him."
Tech sighed and left his Hunter and Wreaker into the wash room to get ready for bed. While they were gone Crosshair made his way next to Echo. The sight of his brother put anger in his heart. His brother who was improving after months of being held hostage and tortured being put back to square one twisted something in Crosshairs gut that could not be fix. "Those Bastards," Crosshair mumbled under his breath as he spit his toothpick out. He retrieved his pillow and placed it on the floor next to Echo's bed. If his brother needed anything, he was going to be there. No one messes with his family and gets away with it.
