As I explained in my last fic, I will be trying something new with my fanfics. I am crafting a combined universe of my fanfiction, called the Asher Verse. This fic will be part of phase one. If you're wondering what the other fic is, look at my profile page.
I'll warn you right now that this chapter mainly deals with exposition. Do not worry; not all the chapters will be this, nor will it be this short. Other than that, enjoy!

Nick Fury strode through the hallways of the Triskelion, his second-in-command, Maria Hill, right behind him. She was rattling off reports about everything they could scrounge up (from the incident in New Mexico to ancient Norse texts) about this 'Loki' character.
As they passed through the halls towards Fury's apartment, they could see various Shield agents hurrying about in preparation for the retaliation against Loki, if there was going to be one.
The duo soon made their way into the office, Hill completing her various reports, while Fury strode behind his desk and sat down.
"Where are we on the Initiative?", said Fury, glaring at Hill with an unreadable expression.
Hill sighed. "That reminds me; the Security Council wishes to speak with you, particularly Ms. Waller."
Fury gave her an expression that clearly told her what he felt about the council. Hill pressed on, as Fury pulled up the digital files pertaining to the various, prospective initiates.
"Tony Stark and Steve Rogers are the initiates who are most out in the open. It should be easy to contact them."
Fury perused several video files of Iron Man's various heroic exploits around the globe, while also looking at several still shots and newsreels of Captain America from World War 2. Speaking of a World War…
"What of Ms. Prince?", said Fury, pulling up rare still shots from WW1.
"Diana Prince is currently working as an art restorer in London. It should be easy to contact her, though she hasn't performed any super heroics since the early twentieth century."
As Fury continued to pull up files, Hill continued. "Likewise, Wayne has not performed any vigilante activity since the Joker incident three years ago. It might be difficult to convince him to be on the team, even as a consulting venture."
Curry shouldn't be too difficult to convince, as will Allen. As for Thor and Banner… the latter will be difficult, but I think we can convince him to take a purely consulting position. Thor will be the most impossible, as we have no way to contact him."
Fury nodded his head absentmindedly, then pulled up a distorted photograph of a figure.
"And what of him?", said Fury.
Hill sucked in her breath. "We still haven't managed to track him down. One minute, he's in the Yukon, working on a fishing boat. Next minute, he's off the face of the world."
Fury grunted, then turned to the photograph. "Well, let's hope we can find him. If things go sour in the next few months, we'll need his abilities."
Hill nodded her head, watching as Fury stood up. "Contact Romanoff and Coulson. We'll need them to gather the troops. We will, too."
The duo then left the office to grab their gear, as soon as Fury locked up the video files.
For a second, Hill saw the List in full; every super powered, or at the very least noticeable, individuals on Earth at the moment. Then Fury locked the program down.
The two left the office, ready to defend the Earth.
