Chapter 1: Reality Hop.

Human Dimension-Earth:

Late at night in the busy streets of New York City, the city that never sleeps, a young boy named Christopher Thorndyke, twelve years old and wearing only his best casual clothes with a back-pack full of things that he needs, is running in the darkness as much as possible, hoping to avoid in getting caught. The street lights were on, cars were passing by, or tried to since this city was infamous for it's traffic jams or just slow traffic in general, people who were late-night workers wouldn't suspect a thing.

But the reason why Chris was on the run wasn't because he didn't steal anything, having grown up in a wealthy family. But that family is the main reason why he was running. He was running away from home, from the strict life of constantly obey his parents and even his grandfather who was at one of his boring meetings, something to do with a dimensional device that theoretically would have mankind teleport from one dimension to another.

Or alternate dimensions. That part Chris had been interested in, but he was refused permission to see for himself, because his family want him to listen and obey what they wanted him to do; To become a businessman, a scientist for Earth technology only, and a famous actor while being set up for an arranged marriage, and even had to go to the boring boys only school and never allowed to make contact with anyone.

Following an argument as he wanted to live his own life freely to find something that suited him, he'd been sent to his room and not allowed to come out, and his meals would be delivered to him like he was a prince.

'It was a bad life anyway. I can't handle it anymore. I'm done with the life of a Thorndyke! I'm leaving New York and I'm never coming back!' Chris thought to himself as he ran, hiding in the darkness and quickly hid between the alley of two buildings, hiding behind a dumpster as police sirens could be heard, and even the helicopters flew in the sky.

It figured that his parents would sound the alarm once they and the house servants discovered that he wasn't in his room. In hindsight, he never thought of this before, and could only hope that he would be able to get away without getting caught, or else he'll be sent right back, getting a massive yelling before being confined to his room for who knows how long.

Little did he know that today his life was going to change forever.

Sonic's Dimension-Mobius/Earth:

The night seemed to be peaceful for the world of Mobius, sometimes called Earth, where humans and highly anthropomorphic animals called Mobians live together in a co-existing life that has been going on for thousands of years, longer even. Yet while there were good people of both kinds, there were bad ones, such as life. But there was one enemy that everyone in the world have in common; that enemy was Dr. Eggman, an evil human scientist who's goal is to rule the planet and built his Empire, enslaving both humans and Mobians, as well as other animal life called Mobinis.

But hope was not lost, because where there is a villain, there is a hero. Sirens filled the night which awoke sleeping flickies, and lights flashing all over Eggman's base.

Racing through the forest and straight towards the base is Sonic the Hedgehog, a fifteen year old blue hedgehog with peach coloured muzzle, chest and arms, emerald green eyes, white gloves and red shoes with white straps and golden buckles. He is known as the fastest thing alive, and the hero of Mobius. He was mostly fearless, heroic, cocky, very confident, benevolent, always there to save the day, and was like the wind, living his life the way he wants, and is always there in a time of crisis.

Sonic smirked as a large horde of robots emerged from the building, ready to attack and kill him without hesitation. He dodged the firing power and missiles at every step of the way, changing course and going off into another direction with one goal in mind; to defeat Eggman once again, save his newest friends Cream the Rabbit and her Chao friend named Cheese, and retrieve the legendary Chaos Emeralds, seven powerful gems full of mystery and great abilities.

"You're gonna have to try harder than that, Eggman!" Sonic declared, leaping onto one robot to another, where the missiles that were coming straight towards him and locked onto him instead destroyed the other machines, resulting a huge explosion.

The blue hedgehog jumped before leaping over the gate and raced through his nemesis' base. He keeps on running as the alarm goes off, and more robots fire at him, before he skids to a stop just as two huge robots emerged from the wall, then hurries to his left as another one appeared, firing at him. Sonic tricks the robots into crashing into the wall while he hides inside, before coming back out only to unknowingly step onto a giant spring trap that had Eggman's symbol on it; an ugly man with sunglasses, goggles, a great big grin and a huge mustache. It springs Sonic into the high.

"Whooooaaaaaaaaaaaaa!" Sonic yelled in alarm, then was hit by another robot which made him grunt in pain as he was flown further away from the base.

"Sonic!" Cried an eight year old young two-tailed fox named Miles Prower, who goes by the nickname of Tails, as he flies a blue biplane with Sonic's name on it towards the blue hedgehog as fast as he could. He is Sonic's best friend and surrogate little brother.

In the passenger seat behind him was a twelve year old pink hedgehog girl, Amy Rose, who is wearing a red dress and white and white boots. She is such a good friend, but has always proclaimed that she is Sonic's girlfriend, much to his dismay. Just as Tails flies low to try and reach the blue hedgehog in trouble, the plane is unfortunately hit three times and begin to catch fire, which Amy noticed with a fearful gasp.

"Tails, the plane's on fire!" Amy screamed, turning to her younger friend. "What are we gonna do?"

"We're gonna save Sonic!" Tails replied as he glanced over his shoulder, showing no signs of fear, and instead held determination. He moved the plane closer to where Sonic was starting to fall, calling out to him as he pulled a lever which had the plane launch a small rocket towards him.

It splits apart and reveals a flying golden ring that glows before it vanished. Sonic, seeing this, smirked before catching it and focused on it's mystical power since these rings allows him to briefly become more powerful and much faster. He then spins in midair as he glows in blue light before he flies down in super sonic speed, performing his Super Spin mode, taking out every single robot in sight, including giant robots cleanly through. One robot then catches him thinking it caught the blue hedgehog, but he spins straight out and destroys it before moving on.

Tails, knowing that he had to land the plane straight away, attempts to do so for an emergency landing, but to his and Amy's horror they were coming straight towards a giant boulder that would cause an disaster.

"We're gonna crash!" She screams in fear.

"I KNOW!" He screamed back, terrified this time.

Just when the two thought they were finished, suddenly a white box-like glove with spikes on the knuckles punches straight through the boulder, shattering it like it was a piece of glass. Stunned in awe, Tails and Amy look down to see a sixteen year old red echidna with a white cresent symbol on his chest, purple eyes, green, yellow and purple shoes.

"Knuckles!" The two younger Mobians called out to their friend, whose name is Knuckles the Echidna, the Guardian of the most powerful emerald in the world, the Master Emerald, which is said to control the Chaos Emeralds themselves. While he didn't consider the younger Mobians his friends, and always thought of Sonic as a reckless rival, but helped him none the less, he wasn't heartless. Just a loner.

Tails landed the plane safely before he and Amy climbed out, and once Knuckles saw they were safe, he wordlessly turned his gaze to the base.

"What's the matter with him?" The pink hedgehog muttered, annoyed by his attitude.

Again, Knuckles didn't respond as he and the others saw explosions appearing at the base before he scoffed. "Overkill, just like always."

Back in Chris' Dimension:

Chris was sweating nervously as the city was blaring with cars as he didn't know if it was safe to leave yet or not, and if anyone noticed him coming here, he was in huge trouble since alleys always lead to a dead end. He had no idea where to go, but anywhere was better than back at home. All he wanted was to have friends, to decide his own future, to have more freedom.

As the twelve year old boy was still hiding, little did he know that he was right next to the Dr. Pell Laboratory, the very lab that his grandfather Professor Chuck Thorndyke was in at this very moment. Through the opened window in front of and below Chris, the elderly man was speaking to another man, Dr. Pell himself who was holding a small device in his hand.

Dr. Pell had created this small known as the Warp Ray, which is said to allow people to travel between dimensions and alternate realities, hoping to one day explore outside of their universe to seek out other people.

"I can't believe you found some Rubinite, Alex! This is such an amazing discovery." Chuck stated in amazement.

"And I never thought I'd see you again, Thorndyke." Alex Pell replied, chuckling. "How is life these days?"

Professor Thorndyke laughed with some hint of exasperation. "Well, it's almost as normal as one can get. My son's busy as ever, my daughter-in-law is filming for a new fantasy movie, and my grandson has entered his preteen rebellious mode. He's becoming as stubborn and disobediant as ever."

"Really? How so?"

Sighing, Chuck shook his head with a shrug. "We've been trying to groom him into becoming the richest businessman in Station Square, top-class scientist to study the human and animal materials, and a famous actor to keep the Thorndyke and Fair family lines alive. But he's becoming more and more stubborn by each day. As rules of the family, he must obey. No one will accept him if he chooses otherwise. The world is cruel."

"I see." Pell muttered. "Where does this boy of yours get this freedom idea from?"

"That is something even I can't figure out." Professor Thorndyke replied. "Let's just hope it ends soon, or else we're going to have to send Chris to the Obdience Insitute."

"Perhaps you should worry about that in the morning and talk to your grandson about the warning. In the meantime, let us begin the experiment. I had an idea in sending this rat as a test run." His old roommate suggested, while gazing at the lab rat stuck in a cage where it squeaked in fear, wanting to be let out.

"Yes, I suppose you're right. Let's hope there won't be any trouble." Chuck agreed.

Back in Sonic's Dimension:

Meanwhile, the base was locking up every single door as much as possible, as deep within the lab was a tall, human height and thin robot named Decoe who was analyzing the digital map, saying. "Dr. Eggman, the facility is in 100% lock-down."

The man in question, Dr. Eggman himself, was a tall human with a ginger-brown mustache with glasses and goggles that matched his symbol, a round plump belly and wearing white gloves with a red jacket suit, black pants and boots.

"Why does that cursed Sonic always get in my way?" The evil scientist growled in frustration. As long as he has known Sonic, the blue hedgehog has always foiled every single plan Eggman has come up with.

"He doesn't get in your way, Dr. Eggman." A very young, sweet and soft girl's voice spoke, causing Eggman to turn to his prisoner; a little six year old rabbit girl named Cream the Rabbit, who wore an orange dress, and in her arms was a small blue and yellow creature with pink wings and a ball bobble on it's head named Cheese, both trapped in a glass ball. "Sonic just tries to stop you from doing all the bad things you like to do."

"Chao!" Cheese agreed.

"Oh, is that so?" Eggman grinned wickedly at his hostages, holding up a red Chaos Emerald. "Well, he's too late to stop me this time! Once I insert the last Chaos Emerald, my energy amplifier will be invincible!"

"You can't do that!" Cream protested, with Cheese crying out as well. "Sonic won't let you get away with this!"

Eggman just laughed. "You're wrong, Creamy-dreamy. He can't stop-huh!"

He was cut off when there was a loud explosion when the door was burst open behind him. Alarmed, the evil scientist, his robot minions and prisoners turned to see dust and smoke clearing and there stood the heroic hedgehog with his trademark smirk, full of confidence and ready to rescue his friends and once again defeat his enemy.

"Sonic!" Cream cheered happily.

"Sonic...!" Eggman growled, shocked. He then grinned wickedly as he told his young enemy, while placing the Chaos Emerald into the machine where the other Chaos Emeralds rested, pressing a few buttons and then held out a remote with a red button ready to be pushed. "Too late. You'll never stop me now, Sonic. Ho ho ho! All I have to do now is push this little button."

"Yeah, if you can push it before I grab it." Sonic responded, his smirk never faltering.

That made Eggman quickly grow worried, before smiling evilly once more with a dark chuckle. At first it made Sonic suspicious, but then he sensed movement and saw another giant robot emerging behind the mad doctor, called the E-13 Guardbot.

"Why don't you give it a try?" Eggman suggested, confident to get rid of the annoying blue nuisence once and for all.

The hero of Mobius took the challenge, as he quickly dodged the rapid fire of the Guardbot who followed him everywhere in the room. Sonic ran across the wall with ease as the lasers kept on missing him.

"Don't let him get away!" The evil scientist shouted.

While this was going on, Rouge the Bat, a female white bat who loved shiny things, was secretly spying on them to take the Chaos Emeralds for herself, only to flinch in alarm and ducked to avoid in getting hit herself, thinking. 'Ugh. That Eggman doesn't know the meaning of being careful. He's more reckless than Sonic and Knuckles put together.'

"Nah-nah-nah-nah-nah!" Sonic taunted, sticking his tongue out while waving his fingers in front of his ears, leaping out of the way easily as the robot kept on firing at him.

In Chris' Dimension:

"Here we go." Pell announced, as he took aim at the rat in the cage and pushed the button. The small device began to glow, while outside of the lab, Chris carefully peered around the corner of the dumpster nervously, hoping that the coast was clear.

In Sonic's Dimension:

"Stop him, no matter what!" Eggman yelled.

Just then, Sonic suddenly stood in front of him with a smirk, waiting for the right moment while Eggman flinched and began to panic, especially when the robot was about to fire at the blue hedgehog...and the evil scientist who created the machine who took the order 'no matter what' seriously.

"AH! No, hold your fire!" Eggman screamed, but the robot didn't listen as it fired. He screamed in alarm and ducked while Sonic leaped away to safety.

The lasers however shot through the glass on the machine the evil scientist was going to use. Slowly getting up and deciding to use his invention now for his goals, Eggman quickly pushed the button, declaring. "Ha! Here we go!"

But instead of doing what he intended on doing, the machine began to spark and release electricity and began to malfuction. Seeing this, Eggman's eyes widened behind his glasses and he exclaimed in horror. "Huh!? What have you done!?"

He, the robots, Sonic who stood in front of Cream and Cheese's small glass prison, all watched in shock while the machine's core and the Chaos Emeralds began to glow brightly which it's light began to fill up the room. Gasping, the blue hedgehog turned and used himself to shield his trapped friends as best as he could as the two Mobians and the little Chao braced themselves, the teenage hero realizing he just made a grave mistake.

From where they were outside of the base, Tails, Amy and Knuckles saw the bright light growing, the younger Mobians in shock.

"What...is that?" Amy asked, stunned.

"...It used to be Chaos Control." Knuckles remarked, his arms crossed after a few seconds of silence.

The light grew, but it didn't seem to spread. Yet it was going something, because a beam of light shot up into the sky, connecting to another source in a far away reality.

In Chris' Dimension:

Just as Pell pushed the button as it began to glow, suddenly it began to glow very brightly and out of control, much to the alarm of the two scientists who gasped in shock.

"W-What's happening!?" Chuck cried out.

"I don't know!" Pell exclaimed, before screaming as a sudden beam of light shot out from the device out of nowhere from the sky and onto Chris who, seeing this, cried out in alarm.

Then at the same time, the device's beam changed course by turning to the left and shooting out of the window and into the light, forcing the two men to shield their eyes and look away, not knowing that the youngest Thorndyke, who intended on running away, was zapped by the combination of the two lights and screamed loudly. Then, as the light faded, Chris was gone, disappearing without a trace.

As the light faded, Chuck and Pell hesitantly looked up and saw that not only they were alright, but the device has been broken in half and destroyed, while the rat was still in it's cage.

"What in the world was that about?" Chuck wondered, looking out of the window. "Where did that bright light come from?"

"Hmm...It appears that the Warp Ray didn't work as planned and caused a near disaster by bringing down that strange beam of light." Pell muttered, sighing as he gazed at the machine in his hand. "I suppose it was a failure and a near disaster. I could've ended up destroying us all."

Despite the close call, the elder Thorndyke placed a reassuring hand on his friend's shoulder, saying. "Well, on the bright side, at least no one got hurt."

Just then, his PHS rang which made him pull it out of his pocket and answered. "Hello? Oh, Nelson. What's wrong?"

What he heard next sent him into a shock. "What!? Chris has-!? I-I'm on my way!"

"What's wrong now?" Pell asked, concerned after Chuck dropped the call, quickly heading out for the serious emergency.

"It's my grandson! He's ran away! I have to get back home and go out to find him!" The elder Thorndyke hurriedly said, taking his coat and raced out the door to join in on the search.

Unaware that Chris would never be found anywhere in New York, because the combined lights of Chaos Control and Pell's Warp Ray have transported the twelve year old boy to another world.

In Sonic's Dimension:

'Oh man, this is bad! I hope we're not in for a bumpy ride!' Sonic thought frantically to himself, bracing himself for a catastrophic impact. His heart raced furiously in his chest, as Cream and Cheese were screaming in fear and he couldn't blame them.

While fearless in most cases except for water or losing his friends, the blue hedgehog hated to admit it, but he was very scared himself. Just when he and everyone else in the room, as the base was ripped to shreds, at least the walls were and the E-13 robot ended up being blasted away, and Decoe, a shorter grey robot named Bocoe, and the shortest robot about Tails' height named Bokkun who was purple with yellow eyes, horns on his head, a red belt with large M in the middle, white gloves and red boots, hid behind crates, all thought they were about to be taken for a ride or something else horrible happening, the light seems to begin to fade but they then heard an unfamiliar screaming, faint at first, become louder and louder which confused them.

Puzzled while realizing they were still in one place, Sonic and his friends hesitantly looked up as the light began to fade, yet within the light in the middle, while the Chaos Emeralds, released from the captive, all shot up and spread out across the planet, a new shape began to form. Eggman and his robots looked up to see the same thing and were all very bewildered.

"What in the...?" Eggman trailed off, puzzled.

"What's going on?" Sonic asked, also confused.

The scream then soon became a moan as the shape then emerged from the light, and to everyone's shock, a young human boy appeared, who unbeknownst to them was Chris from Earth, as he, having experienced a reality hop unexpectedly, lost consciousness and when the light faded away, the twelve year old dropped onto the floor in the middle of the ruined room on his side.

"A kid?" Sonic exclaimed, unable to believe it. How did Chaos Control accidentally kidnap some random human kid from somewhere to here?

"What happened?" Cream asked, surprised.

"Chao, chao?" Cheese squeaked.

"What!?" Eggman exclaimed in disbelief. "Where did that brat come from!?"

Realizing that now there was another kid needing to be saved, Sonic quickly found the opening of the glass capsule and opened it up, freeing Cream and Cheese who came out in relief and happily hugged their heroic friend who laughed.

"Sonic!" Cream cried, with a couple of tears forming as she had been so scared.

"You alright, Cream and Cheese?" Sonic asked, gently holding his youngest friends.

"Mm-hm! I knew you'd come, Sonic." The six year old girl replied.

"Chao-chao, chao-chao!" Cheese squealed, hugging the blue hedgehog on the cheek, making the teenage Mobian laugh at the tickling sensation.

"Easy, guys. I'm gonna get the four of us outta here." The fifteen year old said, before turning to Eggman and his cohorts who growled angrily at him. "As for you..."

Leaving no room for a response, Sonic then Spin Attacked right into Eggman who screamed in pain as he was flown across the room and nearly fell off the ruined platform now that the walls were gone and his base is destroyed. He yelped in panic before clinging onto the edge, screaming out for help.

"Hold on, Dr. Eggman!" Decoe cried out as he and Bocoe hurried over.

"We'll save you!" The shorter grey robot added as the two grabbed hold of their creator's wrists and began to try to pull him up.

"Hurry up, you idiots! I'm losing my grip!" The evil doctor grunted, both panicking and in impatience.

Rouge, having managed to fly away just in time and witnessed what just happened, groaned in dismay before deciding to leave as she grumbled to herself. "Oh well, guess I'll have to find my beautiful jewels somewhere else."

With that, she left unnoticed.

Wasting no time, Sonic returned to his friends and had Cream and Cheese climb onto his back, mindful of his quills before scooping the unconscious boy in his arms and told the duo. "Hold on!"

With that, the blue hedgehog quickly sped out of there as carefully as possible, racing away through the wrecked base, jumping over the gate once more as he ran along the wall, making it outside before racing over to the forest and saw, to the trio's relief, Tails, Amy and surprisingly Knuckles there with the biplane, still slightly smoking, but thankfully in one piece after the two-tailed fox made a quick fix. Sonic slowed to a stop as he smiled happily, Cream and Cheese calling out to them happily and in relief while two of their friends returned the feeling and gesture, and the red echidna remained silent.

"You made it!" Tails cheered.

"Was there any doubt?" Sonic replied, smirking, as Cream and Cheese climbed off of his back. His smirk then faded into a concerned frown and quickly said. "But we'd better get going before Eggman attacks us for round one million."

The other Mobians were about to respond when they noticed the human boy in the blue hedgehog's arms and were shocked and surprised.

"Huh? Who's that?" The two-tailed fox asked.

"Don't know, but I'm gonna take him to Station Square and get him to a hospital, pronto. Tails, you and Amy take Cream and Cheese back home to Vanilla." The fifteen year old quickly instructed. "This kid just appeared out of nowhere when Eggman's machine that had the Chaos Emeralds went all crazy."

"You mean he came from that Chaos Control light?" Amy asked, worriedly after hugging Cream and Cheese in relief.

"But how is that possible? He couldn't even be near the Chaos Emeralds, and they teleport people when they're near them, not from far away." Knuckles muttered, narrowing his eyes suspiciously.

"I'm just as lost as you are, Knuckles. Thanks for the help, by the way." Sonic replied, shrugging. "The good news is, the Emeralds scattered again, so Eggman won't be holding them for a while."

"Will that boy be okay?" Cream asked, worriedly as she gazed at the unconscious Chris.

"Don't worry, Cream. He'll be alright. There's nothing the human hospitals can't do." Sonic reassured with a wink. "I'll take care him, but the most important thing for you is for you to get back home to your mom. Made a promise, after all."

"Sonic's right. We really should get you back home to your mother." Amy agreed.

"You guys go on ahead. I'm taking my leave." Knuckles announced, and before anyone could protest, he ran off to head back home to Angel Island.

This didn't impress the twelve year old girl at all. "Oh! Why he is acting this way?"

"That's just Knuckles, Amy. He likes to do things his way." The blue hedgehog replied. "Well, I'll see you guys later. Gotta run!"

With a swift goodbye to his friends who carefully climbed into the biplane, the Tornado, with Cream and Cheese on Amy's lab since the plane only had two seats, the cobalt teenager dashed off to head to Station Square in super sonic speed since it was the closest human city there was. As he ran while giving a two-finger salute to his friends who flew over him as Tails flew the girls and Chao back to their village, Sonic went into the opposite direction.

Along the way, he gazed at the unconscious human boy that appeared out of nowhere, and while he was well acquainted with humans, there was something a little bit different with this kid. He wasn't sure why, but he just hoped that whatever caused the out of control Chaos Control wasn't disastrous. Either way, the only way to find out is to ask the kid once he's recovered.

'Wonder why Chaos Control brought you here, kid? Where did you come from? I'd better find out and get you back home to your parents. They oughta be pretty worried by now.' Sonic thought, as he picked up the pace.

Little did he know that it wasn't going to be as easy or simple as he thought.

A/N: I know this is out of the blue, but I have wondered what would happen if Chris was the one who was transported to Sonic's world instead of the other way around and what difference would it make. I will get back to my other stories as best as I can(even though I haven't been very good at it, but I at least try).

See you later!
