Usual life in the Chicago city, everyone was busy with their daily activities.
The lawyer followed up the cases and supported his clients; the psychiatrist received his patients and gave them the treatment to make them feel better; the barber gradually met his customers to fix their hair and beard; the doctor was trying to understand what was the pathology and the best cure to make the health of his patients better.
This was what happened at Chicago Med, a well-known hospital where there were really talented doctors.
They were great people who never gave up trying to do everything and more to save as many lives as possible.
Sharon Goodwin was the boss there and made sure the ED worked properly.
Nurses included dedicated Meggie Lockwood and loving April Sexton.
Among the doctors instead were people like veteran Dr. Ethan Choi, sweet Dr. Natalie Manning, the intuitive Dr. Daniel Charles, the talented Dr. Will Halstead and many others.
Doctors came to the hospital every day trying to do their best to make people feel better.
That was what Will did too.
Every morning he woke up and after getting ready and having a nice hot coffee he went to the hospital ready to do everything humanly possible for the people who would come in search of help.
But that wasn't a great time for him.
He was having great difficulties, both financial and sentimental.
The landlord had raised the rent again and despite his overtime he still hadn't been able to pay the previous month's tuition.
Everything had changed since he returned to Chicago.
He had been away from the city for a while, and many things had been different since he returned.
Before he was removed from there, he had a wonderful life, he was getting married, he would become Owen's "father" and things were going well at work.
Now, however, he found himself without money to pay the rent of his house, but above all alone.
He no longer had his woman, Natalie, who was already with someone else.
He never saw Jay because they had completely different hours.
Connor Rhodrs, one of his best friends, had left town to personal vicissitudes.
Dr. Charles, another friend, was often too busy or caught up in meetings with students.
He too had been requested to make meetings on various topics, so he tried to update himself and prepare his notes taking advantage of all the time possible.
He also devoted time to his daughter. He only went to the ED if necessary when he was called.
The only one who was left was Meggie who regarded him as a brother, even if many days they hardly ever met or acted together on a patient without being able to talk about anything other than the latter and his pathology.
So that was how his Dr. Halstead days were.
In the hospital until the evening, working overtime to earn some extra money and then he went home and whatever the time of arrival he always met the owner of it with whom he systematically ended up arguing because he could not pay the rent.
How sad.
But how long could he go on like this?
