The sun is shining brightly over Jump City, and as we zoom in a bit, we see a small white house with a red roof and white picket fenc- Okay, that's too close... I think we're looking into a drawing drawn by a two-year-old. Zoom out and... Yes.
The sun shone brightly on the bright duplex on the outskirts of Jump City.
'Come and have your breakfast kids!' Raven called out from across the kitchen island. 'And the overgrown kid slacking somewhere...' She added with a smile.
It had been more than 20 years since the Titans broke up.
And no, they didn't have an argument about Dick being too shut down or Cyborg joining the JLA, nope.
They just simply called it quits when they all found a need to for once experience a normal civilian life.
And though not being on a team anymore, the former Titans are always keeping in touch and having get-togethers.
Well, the Titans hadn't parted their ways completely alone, they all had their special someone.
'Hey,' Beast Boy, or rather Gar, called out, taking a seat beside Raven, his wife, on the dining table. 'Are Dick and Kory coming over tonight?'
'Did someone just say Dick Grayson!?' Maya, their daughter, cried out from her room upstairs. She ran down and took her seat on the dining table. 'And with Dick Grayson comes Mar'i Grayson too!' She called out to her brother, Mark, who was currently in the backyard, feeding their dog, Rider.
Though Mark and Maya Logan, 16-year-olds, were twins, they hardly looked the same. Mark was older than Maya by 7.9 seconds and had blonde hair and fair skin, with stunning blue eyes. And Maya had short violet hair and tanned skin, with green eyes much like her fathers'.
Quite surprisingly, Gar's DNA didn't fiddle much with theirs and they looked pretty... normal. But that didn't mean they were normal, God, no.
The teenagers were just like their parents, out-going and popular Mark could transform into other animals, though the colour of the animals is green, fly (without shapeshifting), hypnotize people and read minds.
And to contrast, witty and sarcastic Maya could move things with her minds, feel the emotions of those around her, form a force field, levitate and communicate with animals.
They were literally like the younger counterparts of their parents.
'Mar'i?' Mark excitedly called out, popping his head through the glass windows of the backyard. 'I mean, are the Graysons coming over Mom?' He asked politely, trying to hide his blush as he took a seat beside his sister on the table.
'Yes honey, 'Mar'i and her parents are coming over this evening.' Raven smiled at her son's obvious behaviour. 'And Vic is also coming over, Gar.' She looked over at her excited husband.
'You know, it's so great when Mar'i comes over,' Maya smirked at her bother, 'And Uncle Dick too!' She added with a bit more sincerity.
For Maya, Dick Grayson, the former leader, was the cool uncle, making her learn new karate moves and slick acrobatics and honestly, they were inseparable, sometimes playfully making Gar and Mar'i, Dick's daughter, jealous.
As for Mark, he was getting excited because he had a rather obvious crush on the stunning Mar'i Grayson. And it also seemed that the feeling was mutual.
Kory and Dick Grayson also had two children. Jake Grayson, 20 years old, who was away at college, was born when they still were the Titans, and Mar'i Grayson, 17, was born after their marriage.
Meetings between the Logan and Grayson household were very frequent, and thus the bond between the children.
The kids, though going to high school as normal teenagers, were also the well-loved new generation of the "Teen Titans". Much to their pleasure, Dick had allowed them to form a team and become official Titans, as powerful blood ran through their veins, but only as part-time heroes, going to high school as promising teenagers in the morning.
'You know,' Maya muttered to her brother as their parents were busy among themselves, 'You should ask Mar'i out already. I mean, she's my best friend and her subtle hints have been killing me. And besides, she's actually pretty hot in the market, someone might ask her out anytime...'
'Yeah right..' Mark scoffed, 'I ask her out, but on one condition, sis.'
'This can't be good...'
'You tell mom and dad that you went out on a date with "Baby Bat" yesterday.' He looked smug.
'It wasn't a date,' Maya blushed furiously, having butterflies even while thinking about her crush, 'We just went to a library after school; and as it was getting late, we just got something for ourselves to eat from the nearby café...'
'Well FYI, Damian is also my friend, and the way he always asks about you whenever we're alone... I won't call that "platonic" actually.' He smirked. 'Now, if you don't want your brother staying in your basement while you're happily married to Damian in the future, won't you do just this much for me? '
In reality, Mark actually liked the idea of his sister and highly private best friend being together. To such high lengths, the other members of the new Teen Titans had also started "shipping" them. After many years, as the present Robin had finally had the guts to ask Maya out, all of his friends were rejoicing.
But, a brother can't miss a chance to tease his sister now, can he?
'Ughh, the things I do for you...' Maya groaned. She cleared her throat.
'Logan family, I have something to announce!'
Her parents looked up at her, 'What is it, sweetie?'
Mark nudged her, 'All of Logan family...' He whispered.
'Oh, God...' Maya rolled her eyes, 'Rider! Serenity and Midnight, you too!' She called out to their pets, Rider, who was currently feasting on a bone; Serenity, an orange and white cat and Midnight, a black cat who was napping on Raven's reading chair. The animals stopped their current activity and looked up to the girl calling them.
Suddenly, with all eyes on her, Maya felt quite embarrassed to announce the news of her first date to her family.
Well, yeah, she wasn't the most sociable person on Earth, so it was her first date.
'What is it, baby girl?' Gar smiled encouragingly at her, 'Is it somethin' 'bout school?'
'K-kind of?' Maya spluttered, 'I mean, not really... but t-technically?'
'Well, this is gonna take a while.' Mark sighed dramatically. 'Guys! Maya went on a date with a boy yesterday.' He announced, stretching the word "boy" and looking smugly at his father; all the while ignoring his sister's futile attempt to at least "lay it down gently".
'Boy!? What boy?!' Gar asked, almost in a yell. 'You're too small for boys! You shouldn't even know what a boy is!'
To her overprotective father's ranting, Maya had to roll her eyes.
'Dad, I fight deadly villains almost every alternate day and boys is what you're concerned about now?' She sighed,
'And besides, Mark is a boy.' She deadpanned.
'GET OUT!' Gar growled at his son who just rolled his eyes.
'Okay, Garfield, you're definitely overreacting, calm down...' Raven said softly as patted her husband's back and gave a slight smile. 'So...you finally went on a date... with a boy...'
'I'm sorry,' Maya tucked her hair behind her ear, the thing she does when she's nervous or embarrassed. 'I should have known better and asked you first.'
'No, honey, there's no need to seek permission from us. We're not those type of overprotective parents,' Raven glared at Gar. 'Well, honestly, I'm actually kind of surprised that you went out with another boy... I thought you had a crush on Damian..?' Raven gave a concerned smile at her daughter.
Maya could swear that her whole face was red at the moment. 'Is it that obvious...' She mumbled.
The mother smiled knowingly, 'Oh, so it was Damian...' She looked over at Gar. 'See, there's no need to worry. You know Damian, he's a really great guy.'
Gar's face still seemed concerned, 'What Damian? Who Damian? Wh-'
'Dad! Damian Wayne! Y'know, 'The son of Batman'.' Mark said in what he thought was a Batman-y voice. As he saw the awkward looks on his parents, he huffed. 'The Robin of the Teen Titans? Dick Grayson's younger brother? Y'know, Maya's best friend who's comes over like a hundred times?'
'Well, daughter' Gar began with a sigh, 'Just because I know that Damian's one of the best people I know, doesn't mean that he's completely off the hook.'
'Thanks, dad!' Maya smiled.
The family, including the pets, went on with their morning breakfast yet again until Maya smirked.
'So Mark,' She whispered to her brother. 'Now everyone knows about my "I-still-won't-call-it-that-because-it-wasn't-a-date", date...'
Mark sighed, 'I won't lie sis, but to be honest, it went better than imagined. I kinda thought Dad would call Damian, asap, and let him go through some kind of "examination to be worthy of my daughter" and lock you in a room and give you "The Talk".'
'Yeah…' Maya chuckled, 'But, I'm here on business. Mark Nethan Logan, you have to ask someone out now…' She smirked.
'Okay! Okay!' Mark raised his hands in surrender. 'I am a man of my words.'
He was obviously trying to act cool, but through her powers, Maya knew better. She smirked.
'So… you're gonna ask her out this evening?'
Mark chocked on the juice he has drinking as he started coughing loudly.
"Whoa, careful, sport." "Are you okay, honey?" Came the voice of their parents as he embarrisingly wiped the dripping liquid from his chin. 'I'm okay...'
A pause. 'Mmm, Dad,' Mark started. 'Can I ask you a totally random question which has to connection to my life whatsoev-'
'What is it, sport?' Gar laughed at his son's sudden nervous ranting.
'Umm… When, I mean, how did you ask Mom out?'
Garfield, quite like his son, choked on the piece of waffle he was chewing. Raven rolled her eyes and rubbed her husband's back.
'Yeah!' Maya chirped in. She knew what her brother was doing, but even she was curious about the topic at hand. 'According to Uncle Dick, the both of you barely tolerated each other at the beginning… but then he also said that when Dad asked you out when you were of our age, it was very, quote, unquote, "Sweet and Unique". And then, we've also read hundreds and hundreds of old news articles about both of your "Opposites Attract" theories, you can't keep us in the dark after officially being the "cutest" couple of the Titans!' She said with determined seriousness, almost as if she was explaining the laws of motion.
'Really, "Cutest"? Who says?' Gar and Raven both ask with new-found curiosity.
'Everyone!' Mark exclaimed. 'Even Mar'i!' Maya added.
'Huh, I think we even beat RobStar.' Gar whispered to Raven, who chuckled.
'Soo…?' Mark urged his parents.
'Well, what I did was exceptionally mind-blowing. love' Gar said in a fake British accent, folding his hands on top of the table. 'For your dear Mother, I wr-'
'You know what,' Raven politely cut Gar off, 'Dick and Vic are coming over tonight…' She smiled at him.
'Oh yeah!' Gar exclaimed, his green eyes lighting up, his sophisticated british diplomat act long forgotten. He turned towards his kids. 'You know, it will be better if they tell you the story.'
'Why? Because the both of you were in your own bubble of new-found love that you forgot what was happening around you?' Maya questioned with a raised eye-brow.
'Not… exactly.' Raven eyed her daughter.
'Though that is kinda true.' Gar added, stroking his non-existent beard thoughtfully.
'...It's because, when all of us are telling it together,' Raven replied, 'It's almost like it's happening right now…'
