Hermione's Sleepwalking Dangers...
A/N: Hey guys! Veol14 here, and I'm pleased to meet you. This is a small HHr story, without much of a plot in it. This is my first fanfic EVER. So I guess you can say that I am going to be using this story as a testing ground for future fanfics. Please don't judge this fanfic for any other fanfics that I have written. I know it's bad. Just read it once. And I have many fanfic ideas in mind, so try not to ruin them with flames. (As if I care about flames, lol)
I hope you like it, and enjoy it.
Reviews are highly appreciated.
Disclaimer: This is a work of fanfiction. Harry Potter and all its characters are owned by J. . I am writing this fanfic only for my and others' pleasure, and also for checking my writing skills.
Hermione Granger was good at many things. Harry had not known that sleepwalking was one of them.
It was a particularly chilly night. If it weren't for the wards Harry and Hermione had put around the tent, the cold wind and snow would have uprooted it hours ago. Harry sat at the entrance, listening to Hermione's even breathing inside. He badly needed to take a leak. He checked once to see if Hermione was still sleeping, and she was. He scampered over to the woods, and into the dark.
When he came back, he looked inside the tent, and he nearly got a heart attack. Hermione was not at the tent; her bedsheets were tangled, as if she had tried to drag the bed with her. He looked around frantically. No! No! Where had she gone? He finally spotted her, moving towards the cliff.
And the cliff led into nothing but a deadly and fatal fall.
Harry ran faster than he ever had in his life. A hurricane of thoughts swirled in his mind. Was she awake? Or was she sleepwalking? He reached her just in time, and pulled her sleeve backwards in a hurry, which resulted in her falling on top of him.
He panted, tired from all the running as he hugged Hermione close to him. He had almost lost her. His best friend. His only companion in this deadly and dangerous quest, now that Ron had left them.
Hermione woke up with a start, her arms thrashing wildly. She looked up to see Harry under her. He was hugging her like she was his everything, which she had to admit, maybe she was. Harry didn't notice that she had woken up. "What happened?" She asked, wriggling out of his grip. She noticed that they were far away from the tent, and near a snowy, rocky cliff. Multiple questions and probabilities popped up in her head. How did she even get there in the middle of the night?
She was jerked out of her thoughts by Harry. He replied, "You were sleepwalking, Hermione. You almost fell off that cliff! I almost lost you!" She noticed that he had tears in his eyes, and was sweating profusely despite the cold.
Hermione couldn't believe what he was saying. He had to be lying, hadn't he? She was well aware of the fact that she sleepwalked since she was 10, but she had never thought that it was this bad.
She was vaguely aware of the fact that Harry carried her back to the tent and laid her on her bunk. Harry. Harry had saved her life again. That was why they were best friends, after all. They cared about each other more than themselves.
Harry shook her gently, pulling her mind away from thoughts for the second time. He whispered "Good night" softly in her ear, kissed her cheek (which was something he had never done before), and walked back to where he was sitting earlier to guard the tent. She smiled to herself; she definitely wasn't getting any more sleep tonight. She grabbed a blanket, and walked back to where Harry was sitting, or more specifically, trying to keep himself from getting frozen.
She plopped down beside him, laid the blanket on top of themselves, and put her head on his shoulder, letting them both snuggle nice and close. He truly was a great friend, she thought to herself. She hated to worry him. She hated to see that worried face that he had on his face right then. He was only 17, and he had gone through more problems than anyone else would in their entire life.
It was freezing. She moved closer to him for warmth, making him smile. Hermione had always been on his side, no matter what. Now, with Ron gone, she was the only thing that kept him going. He knew that Hermione liked Ron, but he wasn't sure what to say or do about it. But he did try once, just to see how she would react. She had clammed up in front of his eyes, and changed the topic immediately. He knew she didn't want to talk about it, so he left it at that.
Harry didn't know what the future held for him, but he was ready to take on anything, as long as he had Hermione by his side. She was his everything, and he would protect and save her in each and every way he could. And he was sure she would do the same for him.
Hope you liked it,
