AN: Hello! This is my first Boku No Hero Academia fanfiction. I apologize for any obvious character or canon mistakes. I'm more of a fan of the fanfiction centered around BNHA than the show, so I haven't actually seen much past the Sport's Festival Arc. I know what happens after that from stories and wiki, but I haven't actually watched the show after that point. I've seen a lot of stories where Midoriya is omniscient, or a coffee shop hero, or has genie abilities, or is Death, and I love these stories so much. I wanted to contribute, but with something a little different. xxxHolic is one of my favorite animes/manga, and I think it's underappreciated. The manga is definitely better than the anime, so if you've never seen it, read the manga. The anime can get confusing, but the manga explains everything really well.

In xxxHolic, there is a character named Yuuko who is a witch. She is the shopkeeper for a wish shop, where she grants the wishes of customers who happen upon the place. However, one can't receive something for nothing. A price must be paid for each wish. People who don't have wishes can't see the shop, and usually, people who have wishes fulfilled eventually forget the shop existed. I'll play with this theme more as the story continues. For now, this is enough back story to understand my story, for now.

I hope you all enjoy!

Quirks. Magnificent powers that people were born with. They could be combined to create stronger versions of their original abilities. Or they could become weaker. They could mutate and be nothing like the quirks of their parentage. One could even be born without a quirk. Such a fascinating thing. In the case of one Midoriya Izuku, a child whose mother had a weak telekinetic quirk and whose father had a fire-breathing quirk, his was a mutation.

Midoriya hummed lightly as he went about his usual morning routine while lost in thought. The boy loved thinking about quirks. Quirks were such fascinating things. One could accomplish so much good or so much evil. He placed a kettle on the stove and pulled out his favorite bag of tea. Jasmine green tea. A perfect way to start his day. The teenager swiftly measured out the correct amount of tea and set it in the teapot. Then, he turned to his fridge and looked around. The teen nodded in approval as he saw he had everything he needed. "Yes, I think mochi would be wonderful today." Midoriya pulled out all of the ingredients he would need and started preparing some mochi. He would need to make a variety: mango, strawberry, and green tea. "And where is that radio?" The teen's half-lidded eyes swept across the kitchen. "Ah, that's right. I moved it to the backyard." He left his ingredients out and silently stepped into the private living room of his home. From there, he quickly made his way to the shoji door and stepped out onto the patio. His backyard was a gorgeous Japanese garden, complete with stone steps leading to a koi pond and bridge. Flowers of all colors bloomed beside a large cherry blossom tree. Not here either. Midoriya frowned and turned around, walking back into his living room.

"There it is!" He grinned as he spotted the radio sitting on the table in the living room. "I forgot I put it here so I could admire the backyard from inside." Midoriya picked up the radio and headed back to the kitchen. "I'm pretty sure Present Mic's talk show is on. This would be the perfect thing to listen to while I bake some fresh mochi." He set the radio on the counter and pressed the power button. With a soft crackle, Present Mic's voice overtook the silence of the kitchen. He was interviewing Cementoss today. The show was momentarily interrupted by the piercing whistle of the kettle resounded. "Water's ready!" A flick of his wrist was all he needed to turn the stove off, and he poured the water into his teapot. After a few minutes, the tea was ready. "Now, I can make that mochi."

Midoriya set about making the food, laughing at Present Mic's jokes and mentally writing notes about Cementoss's quirk. He'd have to write about that later in his notebooks. He'd always been fascinated by quirks, ever since he was little. That fascination persisted even as a simple shopkeeper. "I should really get someone to improve my patio. It's almost spring. That would be the perfect time to sit outside and write in my notebooks."

By the time Midoriya's mochi was done, it was mid-morning. Cementoss's interview had finished, and Present Mic was playing the top 50's chart. The teen plated a few of each mochi onto a serving tray and reheated the pot of jasmine tea. He carried both to his living room, setting it up on a square wooden table between two soft armchairs. The moment he had finished placing the snacks, the sound of tinkling bells echoed through the air. "Hello? Is anyone here?" A girl's voice sounded from the foyer.

"Hello! I'll be with you in a moment!" Midoriya smiled. He loved tending to his customers. Assured that everything was perfect, the teen walked into the hall and towards the foyer. He was greeted by a middle-school girl with light-brown bobbed hair and pink cheeks.

When she saw him, she held her hands up nervously in surrender. "I'm so sorry! I don't know why I thought it was a good idea to barge in here like this." She rubbed the back of her neck in embarrassment. "I saw your cute shop as I was walking by, and before I realized what I was doing, I was already walking inside."

Midoriya laughed softly. "It's no problem, miss." With a bright smile, Midoriya bowed. "My name is Midoriya, and welcome to my Wish Shop."
