I started to draw the sword from its scabbard when I heard Pink Diamond speak a single word as she placed her hand on the rose-shaped pommel.

"Wait."

I placed the sword down gently as she continued to speak "There's one last thing I need to do."

Hearing these words, I didn't know what she would say and a small part of me was thinking I wouldn't like it as much as I didn't like that I was moments away from faking the shattering of a diamond. But, I kept that thought to myself knowing she would convince me to do so anyway and I was still Her Pearl, so it wasn't as though I could disobey her even if i wanted too. So, I asked "Yes?"

"No one can ever find out we did this; I never want to look back."

I noticed her hands were on my own as she brought them to my mouth to cover it. First my left, the my right hand and as she spoke, she made sure my hands stayed where she had placed them by keeping her left fingertips on my hands

"So, for my last order to you as a diamond, please... let's never speak of this again. No one can know."

As she got up and walked outside, I was still in shock of what she ordered me to do. Her words kept ringing in my head and repeating over and over as if they were stuck on a loop.

So, for my last order to you as a diamond, please... let's never speak of this again. No one can know. So, for my last order to you as a diamond, please... let's never speak of this again. No one can know. No one can know...

No one can know. Nobody. At that thought, I clutched my stomach and breathed in and out 9 times to calm myself once I realised that from now on, I would be lying every time someone brought up this day and what they believed had happened. Not that I wasn't already lying, but now there would be a bigger lie to keep secret from all of the Crystal Gems.

"Rose Quartz shattered Pink Diamond." I spoke out loud to myself the lie that would be told for thousands of years.

"I..." Without trying to, my hands covered my mouth. Left hand first, then the right. The exact way she had covered my mouth moments ago. I removed them in a panic and balled both my hands into fists, keeping them near my abdomen area as I tried to speak again to myself "The truth is that I..." I covered my mouth again, even though I didn't want too.

I repeated my 9 breaths in and out despite the fact I didn't require air to breathe. It helped me to calm down and reassure myself that I was okay and in control. I was just overwhelmed for the moment, but it would pass once I focused on the facts.

No one needed to know. If it was found out, they wouldn't trust her as she was a diamond and the other diamonds would force her to finish what she started.

"No one can know."

Those four words played in my head again. I realised it was a literal truth. My diamond was so smart to see that. Why didn't I see it at first? It was so obvious now that I knew.

Bracing myself for what I was about to do, I shape-shifted to look like her and walked out of the palanquin, drawing out the sword again and ready to carry out Her Last Order.
