"Am I.. Being defeated..?" Vergil mutters as he nearly collapsed onto the floor, exhausted from a long battle, keeping a tight grip onto his father's blade, Force Edge.
"What's wrong? Is that all you got? Get up, you can do better than that." Taunted his younger twin Dante wielding a claymore sword, Rebellion.
The waters continue flowing under their feet as always during the battle on top of the waterfall in hell, Vergil knew efforts he made within the Temen-ni-Gru cannot be wasted, here and now all for the sake of their father's power. Vergil couldn't afford to lose, not to his brother, the very same one who overwhelmed him in their third bout here and now.
He grunts as he stood up, with the resolve in his eyes to defeat Dante. However everything had went interrupted as everything had shook, Vergil realizing what had been done.
He smirked. "The portal to the Human World is closing, Dante. Because the amulets had been separated."
He was right, without the amulets together, it would be the case. Temen-ni-Gru was capable of opening hell thanks to his own amulet and his brother's.
However, Dante didn't flinch but only huff, without reluctance— he said. "Let's finish this, Vergil. I have to stop you, even if it means killing you."
Truth to be told, Dante couldn't afford to see his brother like that— lost in pursuit of power. As much as it hurt him, he seemed to plan on it.
Both then went onto their stances with blades firmly gripped, the two went running towards each other.
"HAAAHHHH!!!"
"EEAAHHHH!!!"
As soon as they had gotten close enough, Dante cuts through Vergil's torso, whileas the older twin had missed and let go of his father's blade.
However, despite missing. Vergil still didn't seem to care, aside from seeing his own amulet fall down, not wanting his younger twin to take hold of it, he snatched it immediately.
Huffing as he backed away and stood at the edge of the waterfall.
"No one can have this, Dante. It's mine, it belongs to a Son of Sparda." He stated with an adamant expression, nearly collapsing and falling off the waterfall.
The younger brother ran up to him with the intention of not letting him go, however he was stopped by his brother's signature blade, Yamato, pointing at him.
"Leave me, and go if you don't want to be trapped in the Demon World." He said, huffing but didn't even give a single amount of reluctance. "I'm staying, this place was our father's home."
The older twin then falls off the waterfall, Dante's eyes widened as he tried to grab his hand, only to have Vergil cut the younger twin's palm before continuing to fall.
Leaving Dante to grit his teeth in frustration at his brother falling into the abyss before returning back to the Human World with the Sparda blade and everything acquired from the journey.
Vergil on the other hand, only had Yamato but seemed to have gotten more experience, as for his current situation, he supposedly was going to fall and crash into a pool of blood, it didn't seem like a case. Within the blink of an eye, he finds himself lying on a white, cold surface that's.. Snow..?
"What..?" He stood up, wasn't he just in hell? 'There's no such thing as snow in Hell unless involving an Ice Cerberus within the area..'
Looking around, he sees no Cerberus but rather he was in a snowy land surrounded by cherry blossom trees, and in front of him was an Eastern styled house.
The man couldn't believe what he had just witnessed, rubbing his eyes, noticing his white hair's bangs had gone down— he slicked them up and back again. He then thinks for a moment again towards his situation, only to be interrupted.
"You there..!" A high pitched voice shouted amidst the area, causing the man to look back, only to see a young-looking white haired girl with a white shirt under her green vest, wearing a green skirt and some black shoes and what levitated behind her was a semi-transparent blob. "Pray tell what's a living being doing in the Netherworld?!"
This utterly confused the man, standing up with an eyebrow raised. "And what if a living being happens to be in this 'Netherworld?'"
"I'm ordered not to let living beings in this place, after all, what resides here are phantoms and other types of spirits only, with a few exceptions." She answered, lowering her chin and furthering her brows. "Now I'd ask you this once more: Pray tell, what is a living being such as you, doing in the Netherworld?"
"Well I'm quite uncertain about that actually." He raised an eyebrow at her action, her hand about to unsheathe her own blade.
"Really now?" She jumps in front of him, finding him quite suspicious as finally unsheathes her blade, bringing it to the ground. The man couldn't help but smirk at her, not even giving any attention to her appearance being that of a teenage girl.
"But you don't plan on trusting my answer alone now, do you?" He asked, bringing Yamato forth while sheathed.
"I don't see why." She answered, running towards him, delivering a cut whileas he barely parried it, finding it somewhat strange that he feels somewhat slower than usual.
He paid no mind to the feeling and went onto unsheathing his blade until noticing, it wouldn't come off from the scabbard. 'What?!'
He finds the white haired girl in front of him, hitting his face with a dull part of her blade— knocking him back.
"Tch.." He glanced at the Yamato for a split second, trying to pull it off it's scabbard to no avail, leaving him with a somewhat frustrated look.
"Is your blade stuck?" He glanced at the girl raising an eyebrow with her question.
"Does it even matter?" He raised back his eyebrow as he stood straight, his forearms and hands, as well as his forelegs and feet became encased with a bright light, then came along were metallic gauntlets and greaves. Oh how he's returned to using this specific Devil Arm from his second bout with Dante, the gauntlets and greaves of light— Beowulf.
The girl eyed each metallic accessory piece on the white haired man, narrowing her eyes. Vergil then said. "Focus on the fight, girl." He dashed right at her and began to dive down with a kick in which she moved aside, barely taking it.
"Hurrah!" He began to spin with a kick right at her in which she blocks with her blade before both went on toe to toe.
Ting!
Clang!
"Hurrah!" Vergil shouted as he began to force his fist onto her while she on the other hand evades it, analyzing his movements.
'He's quite an adept fighter with remarkable strength and speed.' She remarks, putting her blade forth, grazing his cheek.
Vergil backflipped away, seeing her sheathing her blade causing him to narrow his eyes. She then immediately brings the blade forth again, though instead of approaching him and cutting him down, she swings her sword at his direction while at the same time fire what seems to be projectiles made out of mana.
The man's bangs fell down, making him look rather like his twin brother. But that's not the time for this with the projectiles approaching him immediately, he began moving right on, breaking through.
The two then went on with their battle as if it were a dance, circling each other, striking one another, one getting to wield a blade and fire projectiles while the other breaks through and strike to no avail.
Vergil smirked and jumped into the air, spinning before going down. "Erreah!!" Executing Killer Bee kick move in a spinning manner.
The girl moved back in order to avoid before dashing right at him. "Take this!"
Vergil just in time jumped out of the way and landed a few meters away, observing her cuts to be quite fast, similar to his fashion of dash-cutting his brother.
"Not bad." The man remarked.
The girl's response was a glare, before pointing her blade at him. "Oh shush it."
Vergil stood up nearly straight and slicked his hair back, dusting his blue coat. "Hmph, aren't you going to attack?" He raised an eyebrow at her, of course, knowing she had a chance.
"I figured you'd actually avoid me anyway, if it weren't the case— there's no value to it." She states.
"A proud swordsman.. Hmph." He seemed to smile genuinely for a moment. "Interesting."
"You still want to continue?" She asked after a moment.
"Why not? After all this has been suddenly quite interesting." He answered, truth to be told. He was quite interested, many things have been onto his mind ever since his sudden arrival here— knowing that could be the case, Dante wouldn't be his problem anymore.
However he can't seem to shake off a certain sense of insecurity, in truth with this fight he's been barely keeping up and is rather forcing himself, not to mention the Yamato's condition.
"Well then, I suppose it's time to end this." The girl declares.
The white haired man stood with confidence and raised his hand towards her, having its fingers gesture like a taunt.
She narrowed her eyes and sheathed her blade, keeping a tight grip on it, Vergil could feel a rising level of mana from her.
He observed for a moment before balling his hands into fists, knowing it would be a bad idea to do nothing. Thus he went running at her, "HURRAHHH!!!"
"Jinchiken Tennyogaeshi!" She shouted as she releases her blade, all resulting to an explosion.
The smoke then clears, Vergil standing before losing consciousness with his words being. "Ridiculous..."
Collapsing onto the ground he goes, the girl huffs and wiped some sweat off of her face.
"Oh dear, what happened here?" A ladylike voice came to the girl's earshot, causing her to turn and see her pink haired mistress.
"L- Lady Yuyuko..?!" The girl exclaimed before suddenly gesturing numerously. "I— um, it's not what you think..! This man wouldn't— and he was strong— and— !"
"Bring him in, Youmu." The pink haired woman identified as Yuyuko interrupted.
"W- What..?" Youmu, the white haired girl asked.
"Exactly as I said, please? Thanks." She walked back in.
"I.." Youmu was at loss of words, before looking at the unconscious Vergil, sighing in dismay. "Very well." She then carried the unconscious man with some ease.
Yuyuko on the other hand glanced at the two of them, huffing silently. 'Not a bad guest to watch over, Yukari..' Smiling.
