AU. Marion had been kidnapped since infancy. All of her life, she was told to stay away from the ocean. It was strictly forbidden. Fortunately, the ocean has a way to lure those who belonged to the seas. Marion runs into a mysterious, haughty man who seemed utterly familiar to her. Old memories begins to resurface in her mind . . . memories she never knew she had.

This is going to be a dark and twisted tale that was inspired by my own A Siren's Tale which is a lighthearted, cheerful, and colorful version compared to this story!

In this twisted tale there will be different elements and mature themes.

Marion has three children and they are triplets: a son and two daughters. Aiden, Daphne, and Bloom. Despite them being triplet siblings, they all have different hair and eye colorings! Aiden's appearance is more like his father despite inheriting his mother's bright emerald eyes. He is the eldest between his two sisters.

Another fact about sirens they don't age quickly like humans! It's going to be hinted throughout the story.

Secrets Of The Ocean

"Preface"

August 21st, 1995

It was a clear night sky.

The stars were glistening in the dark sky as the full moon had reflected brightly on the ocean's surface, as it glittered.

The summer breeze was calm and gentle.

Far out in the distance, a man and woman were walking on the sandy shore towards a specific isolated area on the beach—the place where they had first met each other in secrecy. The woman had smiled warmly as she gazed at the man's soft expression. The love he held for the woman had burned passionately in his brown eyes.

The brunet tightened his grip on her hand.

She smiled warmly towards him and lifted her hand and placed it gently on her swollen stomach protectively. Oritel had adored seeing his beautiful girl filled with utter love, devotion, and just compassion over their growing children.

"How are our babies doing, Marion?" Oritel asked causally, his smile stretching across his face.

The redhead felt her babies move within her, giving her kicks all around, despite it being quite hard, but she loved sensing the movement of her children. She had seriously heard many women complain of their own pregnancies. But Marion had relished it even though she had personally experienced the downsides of her pregnancy. She was nine months in and yet she still experienced morning sickness every day.

"Our babies are doing great, darling. In fact, I'm due in about a week from today," Marion smiled lovingly.

The redhead woman couldn't wait until she had birthed her children. To meet her sweet boy and two darling girls for the very first time. To hold them in her protective arms. To cherish and to love them with all of her heart. They were her everything.

The brunet returned the smile at the pregnant girl.

"That's wonderful news, sweetheart. I just can't wait to meet them."

He adored everything about her, from her cheeky remakes, to her silly smile, and the deep love that she held for him. Marion had watch the smile faded from his face to concern over their own future and that of their children. He couldn't allow her to slip from his life despite the girl's parents' disapproval.

"We need to talk in private Marion about our future and the future of our children," Oritel placed his hand on Marion's protruding belly. He couldn't help, but plant kisses on her belly three times to each of his children. The redhead girl had blessed him with the most wonderful and priceless gift she could ever give him.

Marion stared at him with her piercing green eyes.

Slight hesitation flickered in her eyes, as she placed both of her hands protectively on her stomach over her children fully knowing what they were.

She swallowed hardly.

They were just like her and Oritel.

Sirens of the sea.

The girl had realized why her parents had behaved so overprotective of her that it had come off as overbearing to be anywhere near them over the last few years. Her mother in particular had occasionally threatened Marion if she were near by the beach with a mere accidental words slipping out of her tongue to FBI's knowledge of their daughter's special condition.

Her father could be very cruel in own ways even though he had hadn't physically assaulted her in many months ever since Marion had become pregnant with her children. The man's words alone were very harsh and damaging to Marion's self-esteem, preventing her from seeking out any kind of help. Oritel was the only person who had manage to brighten her world when she seemed to have lost all hope.

The endless nights that she had snuck out of her house to meet him down on the beach, in the secret cave where they talked all night long. He kept her company for all this time. If it hadn't been for Oritel's presence, she wouldn't have surivied this far in her life. But he was the lifeline that she always needed.

"Like what?" she asked in a voice of a scared little girl.

Marion simply couldn't risk it or jeopardize her children's future. Or allowing them to endure the same kind of treatment that she had while growing up, being trapped behind locked doors with no where to go.

Oritel lifted an eyebrow.

"Come with me, Marion. There's something important you should know about."

The redhead girl felt his hand being placed on her back, as Oritel gently led her the way to their secret cave.

The cave was dimly lit with smoldering candles and gas lamps.

They had walked deep into the cave but along the sandy shoreline. Oritel and Marion had found the perfect area that had appeared to be carefully guarded from all intruders. She had noticed many male sirens dressed in uniforms with spears and swords at their sides. They had appeared to be guards.

Marion's vividly emerald eyes had widen at such a sight.

There were about a dozen of people within the cave as if they had been anticipating her and Oritel's arrival.

It had made her tremble on the inside.

Who were those people? Why were they here? She couldn't help shake off the feeling that there was something going on? Like a grave truth that was about to be spilled to her.

Her eyes had fallen on a few particular people who were dressed to the nines.

The two figures had crowns adorned their heads with many seashells, pears, and beads. The woman had long blond hair that was in curls. Her expressive blue eyes soften right at her.

Though Marion couldn't help but noticed the strange sadness that shinned in her blue eyes as tears begun to glisten down her pale but glowing face. A mystifying look that all sirens possessed, as their beauty was known to allure the humans' attention onto them in pure lust.

The queen was in sorrowful tears. There was a mixture of pure happiness and sadness that crossed the blond woman's face. The king had seemed to be astonished by such a sight upon seeing her. He was besides the queen, as they both exchanged glances.

There was a young man—a blond-haired siren—that was a prince.

His piercing green eyes had landed on Marion.

After a moment of utter silence in the cave, a deep, thick voice had spoke out.

"Oritel, you've found her! My little twin sister—"

Marion blinked her eyes a couple of times, allowing the words to sink into her brain. "What? That's impossible! I don't have a sibling! I'm an only child."

Oritel shook his head. "No Marion. You aren't."

"You can't possibly know more about me than me, Oritel!" Marion scoffed backing away from Oritel. She crossed her arms over her chest. A look of disbelief rose on her face and her tone of voice became more accusing than ever. "How dare you suggest something like this!"

Oritel's brown eyes had widened in horror. It wasn't his intention to say something unpleasantly, but Marion had deserved to know the full truth about her true origins. Her real family. Her heritage of being the little princess.

"They've been deceiving you Marion! They lied to you for years of pretending to be your actual parents! They'd kidnapped you when you were a baby from the king and queen and most importantly they had robbed you from your twin brother!" Oritel placed both of his hands on her shoulders, pleading to her with desperation.

Oritel could see the doubtfulness in her face. It was almost as if she couldn't believe or comprehend the heavy weighted truth. That the people who had raised her for all these years Marion had thought of them as her parents to be actually kidnappers. No. She couldn't believe Oritel at all.

In fact, she didn't even know those people that gazed at her quite tenderly.

Why would Oritel say such a thing to her face?

It was utterly offensive.

They were the people who had given her love, cared for her, had always been there for in good days and bad. Her mother had always told her the tale of her birth about a million of times and her father had witnessed his daughter's very breath into the world. No one had the urge to make something like this up.

"Marion think about it! Why do they always insist on you being forbidden from the ocean? Doesn't that seem a little suspicious and ridiculous to you? It's surely not because there's sirens or that I'm a siren, but it's because they want you away from your home. Your origins and they don't want you to discover the hid you for seventeen years!"

Oritel truly hoped that the words he was telling her would register in her mind.

It was the only explanation as to why they had been sheltering her from the world for eighteen-years! He was exceedingly furious over how the kidnappers (they shouldn't be deserved to be parents) had been tormenting Marion emotionally for years.

None of this could be true!

They—he—was lying to her.

Manipulating her for their own personal gain.

She was having a hard time connecting the theories all together that Oritel was informing her about. But it had made some sense as to why her parents had kept her so sheltered or had forbidden her from many things especially outside activities without their presence. But still it hadn't explained the fact that the people who raised her were kidnappers?

Marion had blinked back anger tears. She didn't know which one was worse the people who had always been her parents were actually kidnappers or Oritel who was manipulating her with his words?

"For all I know, you could be lying to me! You don't even have proof!"

"Actually we do," the male siren spoke up, grabbing Marion's attention towards him.

The redhead had watched him pulled out an old print from his satchel bag as she carefully approached her so called brother that she never existed. Oritel followed right behind her.

The redhead woman's eyes had locked on her brother's face to see the strong similarities between the siren prince and herself. He even has the same shape of eyes and the vividly emerald color. The only difference that had distinguished them was the fact he was a male and had long blonde hair, in which he had inherited from the queen.

"Marion," the queen said in a mere whisper. Though the blond-haired woman was about to burst into heavy tears due to the grief she had over the daughter Lassandra had lost years ago.

The king had a stern but yet warmhearted expression on his face.

Although he did appear to be delighted upon seeing his daughter for the very first time in eighteen years. Tears had rolled down his cheeks. He had the same bright shade of green eyes, as herself and the siren prince. It was a strong, inheritable trait.

Marion had grabbed the print of the man's hand and begun to read through it. Her face began to pale drastically. In the center of the article there was a picture that showed her and her brother being held in their mother's arms, as they had presented them to the entire kingdom the newest members of the royal family. Her emerald eyes were filled with tears as she continued to read through the heartbreaking tragedy that had befallen the royal family.

She felt Oritel's hands gently rubbing her back, as if he were trying to comfort her.

Tears had dripped onto the print as she silently cried upon the horrifying realization.

It was utterly hard for her to comprehend the truth.

The parents that she had always adored were not her parents but actual abductors. They were criminals! Her hands begun to tremble in fear. She was speechless. Not a single word could escape her lips.

"Marion," Oritel said softly.

The redhead had turned to the man and within a blink of an eye, she crashed into his strong arms as tears glistened down her face. Her world was shattered to a million of pieces. Her heart throbbed in agony. For all these years, the king and queen had sent out a search party to find their daughter—scouring the every part of the ocean with no luck until Oritel had come across her on land.

Oritel cupped Marion's cheeks with his hands, gazing down at her with full love in his eyes.

"Hey, it's going to be alright. I'm here for you, love. Your family is here for you. You're not alone anymore, Marion." He pressed his soft lips against her forehead.

For the first time, Marion had gazed up at him with utter adoration.

He placed his hand on her swollen belly.

"Our children will receive all of our love from the entire family. And I'll spoil them rotten," Oritel threw her a grin, taking .

Marion's emerald eyes had lit up as she giggled. "You're already spoiling them, Oritel."

"I know and I love that."

The brunet man had pulled away from the girl. He wanted to guide her to her family who were glancing in their direction with a mixture of curiousness and happiness.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Marion question upon seeing Oritel's mischievousness expression cross his face.

"Because it's time for you to return to the sea, sweetheart, and we can finally get married."

Without any forewarning, Oritel had lifted the girl into his strong muscle arms as she had let out a yelp in surprise. Her head rested against his broad shoulders. She was amazed that he could be able to carry her in his arms.

"Married?" Marion had let out a squeal in delight over hearing such a word.

Her heart screamed out in utter happiness!

It's all she'd ever wanted.

Marion had wanted to be with Oritel. She wanted him to be there for their darling children. To watch them grow along side her. The love of her life, but those so called people that she had once knew as her parents had kept disapproving of anything. She had never even once questioned their strange behavior.

She didn't have the luxurious freedom as other girls her age. They had robbed everything from her. And she wasn't going to allow them to do the same to her children. Her children had deserved to grow up in a loving environment and have the chance to explore the world to their heart's desires.

Oritel had grinned at his beloved girl.

In that very moment everything had seemed to be picture perfect until a sharp, loud voice had shattered such a magical moment between her and Oritel.

The girl's bright green eyes had widen in horror upon the familiar voice. The voice had sounded harsh, cold, and controlling.

"Marion Shimmers! How dare you defy our orders!" the man's voice had barked lividly.

Marion had flinched in fear.

She felt Oritel's arms tightening on her, keeping her close to him. Oritel spun on his heels to spot the infuriated couple who were seething in rage upon such a sight. So they had been following him and Marion. He was utterly disgusted by them. How dare they hurt Marion! How dare they control her to their every whims!

They were despicable people who needed to be sentenced to life-time in prision!

King Adrian gazed at the criminals with utmost disdain.

Fury had ignited in his green eyes.

Those people who stood before him were the couple who had kidnapped his infant daughter. He narrowed his eyes hardly. It filled with coldness.

"You lied to me for all these years! You two kidnapped me from my own family! You and that woman manipulated me for your own personal gains! I'm no longer your daughter and there's no reason for me to keep listening to you!" Marion spoke. A bright shade of red painted her face, as she gazed at the couple with ire upon the realization of the truth. Cold chills had ran down her spine.

These people hadn't shared DNA with her.

They were strangers.

It had explained why she hadn't looked exactly like them with their white hair and pale eyes. Marion was a complete contrast to her parents. She had vividly red hair and bright green eyes. Most people had assumed that her parents had adopted the girl, not seeing any similarities that most children had with their parents. Marion had never questioned it once her parents had explained to her that she had gotten most of her features from her grandparents. It was a lie.

The silver-haired woman snorted, placing her hands to the side of her hips. "You ungrateful brat! You have the nerve to retaliate back to your sweet mother, after all what we'd done for you!"

"You're not my mother!" Marion hissed in return.

"Oh, is that so? Oh Marion darling, I would defiantly hate to see you upset, but the reality is, we were the ones who took great care of you from your infant years to your teens. We've seen you grow in every way. We made wonderful memories together. Now my dear, tell me what memories do your biological parents have of you?" the silver-haired woman taunted, as she sneered in wickedness. Her pale grey eyes gleamed in delight.

Marion's face had drained from all coloring, as tears spilled from her eyes.

No words could cross her mind.

Oritel was utterly scarlet in the face.

The girl had never seen Oritel so pissed off from before. The expression that crossed the man's face was absolutely terrifying. She felt a shift of fear stir within her chest.

"All what you've done for her! You abducted my sister and yet you claimed to be good, loving parents to her, which is preposterous! You've hidden her from the world and filled her head with lies about the seas!" the prince snarled, his hands turning into fists balls.

The king had used his magic in conjuring handcuffs on their wrists. They weren't any ordinary handcuffs, but rather ones that were used against dangerous criminals. Those specific bracelets were the type that had prevented them from using a single ounce of magic.

"Taron Shimmers and Mira Shimmers, you're under arrest for the kidnapping of Princess Marion! Guards seize them!" King Adrian snarled.

Marion watched in horror as the strong male sirens had used their magic to draw the couple back into the waters. Tears continued to spill from her eyes. Her heart was completely shattered to pieces as the memories of them filled her mind. Despite being completely livid with them. Her soul ached far too much.

She felt Oritel's lips brush against her forehead lovingly.

The brown-haired man's brown eyes had shinned with utmost sadness. He felt sorry for Marion as she cried silently against his chest. She had been deceived but yet he could see the pain in her eyes as she glanced at the couple who had once meant the world to her.

"Marion, I'm here for you. I'm truly sorry that you had to find out this way," Oritel spoke in a gentle tone.

The redhead girl had sniffed. Her eyes were red and puffy from all the cry.

"I never knew. I always believed them to be my parents, never thought that one day, that they were criminals. That they stolen me from my family and from a brother I never I had. It's shocking. All those memories, I. . ."

"Hey, shhh, easy now," Oritel ran his fingers through her red curls.

"I love you, Oritel," she whispered, leaning her head against his shoulder.

He smiled at her warmly.

The man had walked to the waters and had easily vanished into the water along with Marion.

The girl had winched once her body had shifted into it's siren from. Her legs had fused together in a painful manner as bright emerald scales had appeared. Her toes had thinned into translucent yellow fins. Scales had scattered all across her delicate face. Her hands and ears had formed web.

At this moment, she was utterly grateful to be wearing a flowing dress.

Marion hadn't been in her siren form for years - well not being fully submerged in sea waters. Her gaze had fallen on Oritel who was in his siren form. Red scales scattered across his face and shoulders. Marion's eyes had widen upon feeling his own red tail wrap against hers.

It was an amazing sensation!

Oritel placed his hands on her cheeks and he instantly kissed her on the lips passionately.

She had never felt so alive and so free from before. So loved.

The redhead princess didn't want this to end. Marion had wrapped her hands behind Oritel's neck.

The duo had pulled away from each other's grasp to see that the king, queen, and the prince were swimming towards her and Oritel. Queen Lassandra had pulled the pregnant girl into her loving arms, tears sliding down her face. King Adrain and Prince Alec had followed suite, engulfing the queen and princess in a tight embrace.

"Oh my sweet daughter, we've finally found you," Lassandra smiled brightly, lifting her daughter's chin, admiring her beautiful face.

A dark cackle pierced through the happiness that the royal family shared, shattering their moment as a family together. It was the woman, Mira's laugh, despite being tightly secured by the guards.

"You are fools! We knew that one day you'd be reunited with your daughter again, but of course, everything's going according to our plan. You see the purple mists that surrounds us, this a powerful spell. A memory spell that would erase all traces of Marion from your memories, like she'd never existed."

The siren girl's emerald eyes had widen upon seeing the magic swirling in the water that was starting to effect the royals and Oritel. She had watched in utter horror as the memories of her begun to fade from their mind.

"Oh and mind you of course Oritel, but we'll be taking care of Marion's children. You'll not be apart of that," Taron grinned wickedly, relishing this very moment along side his wife Mira as he had destroyed the magical handcuff that was preventing them to do magic.

Mira and Taron had swam quickly to the girl, desperately pulling her away from the man.

"Oritel!"

"Marion!"

The redhead girl had tried to reach out to the man, but unfortunately as it was, Oritel had blinked at her in pure confusion. He hadn't recognized the young seventeen-years-old siren girl. The man furrowed his dark brows at Marion.

Marion's emerald eyes had gone wide in horror.

"Who are you?"

Something within her had shattered. All of the memories she'd made with him were long one. He hadn't recognized her and nor did the royals who were completely baffled by such scenery. Tears streamed down her face as she placed her hand over her swollen belly as she realized the fate that awaited her and her children.
