Equestria's Saiyan Prince
~Friendship is Magic~
"Once upon a time, in the magical land of Equestria, there were two regal sisters who ruled together, and created harmony for all the land. To do this, the eldest, used her Drakino powers to raise the sun at dawn. The younger, brought out the moon, to begin at night. Thus, the two sisters maintained balance for their kingdom, and their subjects, all the different types of Ipotane. But as time went on, the younger sister became resentful. The people relished and played in the day her elder sister brought forth, but shunned and slept through her beautiful night. One fateful day, the younger Drakino refused to lower the moon to make way for the dawn. The elder sister tried to reason with her, but the bitterness in the young one's heart had transformed her into a wicked woman of darkness. Nightmare Dragoness. She vowed, that she would shroud the land in eternal night. Reluctantly, the elder sister harnessed, the most powerful magic known to Dragon kind... the Elements of Harmony. Using the magic of the Elements of Harmony, she defeated her younger sister, and banished her permanently on the moon. The elder sister took on responsibility, for both sun and moon... and harmony has been maintained in Equestria, for generations since."
"Hmm, Elements of Harmony... I know I've heard of those before." A young cocoa tan skin woman said, sitting beneath a tree, reading a book on the history of the two sisters. "But where?"
The young woman had a slender build, and wore a light lavender purple shirt with a darker midnight purple skirt with a pink and white nova star with five smaller white nova stars around it, on both sides of the piece of clothing, with a pair of stockings, and school shoes on her feet. Her hair was a lighter shade of purple with a pink and grape purple streak in her waist length hair, with a belt to match it hanging down her backside like a tail, and a purple diamond gemstone on her forehead, partially visible through her bangs, with two scales on her cheeks.
"I'm sure I'll be able to find out where after I've gone done some research in the library." Twilight said, putting the book in her bag, and slinging it over her shoulder, making her way back to the library to return it, but she was stopped by some school friends.
"There you are Twilight." The unicorn with the bubblegum pink hair, said as she and two other stood in Twilight's way, all three of them having diamond shaped gemstones on their foreheads in their respective colors, being lighter shades than their hair. "Moondancer is having a little get-together, in the west castle courtyard. You wanna come?"
"Oh, sorry, girls. I got a lot of studying to catch up on." Twilight said, apologetic and awkwardly, before zipping away.
"Does that girl do anything except study? I think she's more interested in books than friends."
As Twilight kept running along the path, she kept thinking on what she read about.
"I know I've head of the Elements of Harmony." She said passing along more of her classmates at the school, and going to her quarters in Celestia's Academy. "Spike! SPIKE!" Twilight called out, bursting through the doors of her room, before looking down. "Spike? There you are." She said spotting the green haired, young man lying on the ground.
Spike wore a purple shirt, and pants, while also wearing a light green vest, that matched the sides of his hair, with the emerald green stripe going down the center. His eyes were a matching emerald green. The height difference was obvious between them, as he only came up to her knees.
"Quick, find me an old copy of 'Predictions and Prophecies'." Twilight said, running up the stairs to the second level of the room, before noticing something crushed, and stuck to Spike's back, as he followed her up the stairs. "What's that for?"
"Well, it was a gift for Moondancer but..." Spike stopped after he pulled the gift off his back and a stuffed bear fell out of the tear in the cardboard landing on the ground with a squeak.
"Oh Spike, you know we don't have time for that sort of thing." Twilight said, looking rather disappointed in Spike, like he'd done something wrong.
"But we're on a break." Spike said.
Twilight just seemed to ignore him as she used her magic to find the book that she was looking for, and brought it down to her, which was evident by the magical aura surrounding her horn and hands.
"No. No. No. No. No, no, no." Twilight repeated as she couldn't find the book she was looking for. Ugh. SPIKE." She shouted.
"It's over here." Spike called out, from atop a ladder holding the book Twilight was looking for, before she grabbed it with her magic, and pulled it, as well as Spike, towards her.
"Ah!" She smiled after reading the title, before dropping the other books, leaving Spike to do the clean up as she went to her podium. "Elements, Elements. 'E', 'E', 'E'. Aha! Elements of Harmony, see Drake in the Moon?" Twilight questioned as she found what she was looking for in the glossary."
"Drake in the Moon? But that's just an old fairy tale." Spike said, as he was already almost done putting the books away.
"Drake, Drake. Aha." Twilight said flipping through the books. "The Drake in the Moon... Myth from olden times, a powerful Drakino who wanted to rule Equestria, defeated by the Elements of Harmony, and imprisoned in the moon. Legend has it that on the longest day of the 1,000th year, the stars will aid in her escape, and she will bring about nighttime eternal. Spike, do you know what this means?" She questioned with a gasp.
"No. Whoa." Spike cried out as his ladder fell over and he landed in Twilight's arms, while handing him a quill and paper.
"Take a note, please, to the Princess." Twilight said, putting Spike down.
"Okeydokey." Spike said.
"My Dearest Teacher, my continuing studies of magic have led me to discover, that we are on the precipice of disaster." Twilight began.
"Hold on..." Spike said, having a hard time following. "Preci... Preci...?" He looked to Twilight.
"Threshold."
"Thre..."
"Uh, brink?"
Spike just looked at her confused.
"Ugh. That something really bad is about to happen." Spike wrote that down with vigour. "For, you see, the mythical Drake in the Moon is, in fact, Nightmare Dragoness, and she's about to return to Equestria, and bring with her, Eternal Night. Something must be done to make sure this terrible prophecy does not come true. I await your quick response. Your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle."
"Twilight... Sparkle... Got it." Spike smiled.
"Great. Send it."
"Now?" Spike asked.
"Of course." Twilight said.
"Uh, I don't know, Twilight. Princess Celestia's a little busy getting ready for the Summer Sun Celebration. An' it's like, the day after tomorrow." Spike said.
"That's just it Spike. The day after tomorrow is the 1,000th year of the Summer Sun Celebration. It's imperative that the Princess is told right away." Twilight said.
"Impera... Impera..." Spike tried to sound it out and write it down, but couldn't.
"Important." Twilight practically shouted, sending Spike tumbling back.
"Okay, okay." Spike said, getting up, before inhaling deeply, and sending off the letter with a burst of green flames. "There. It's on its way. But I wouldn't hold your breath."
"Oh, I'm not worried, Spike. The Princess trusts me completely." Twilight said a little too proudly. "In all the years she's been my mentor, she's never once doubted me." Right after she said that, Spike's cheeks buffed up and he belched out a response from Celestia. "See?" Twilight smiled. "I knew she'd want to take immediate action."
"Ahem. My Dearest, most faithful student, Twilight, you know that I value your diligence, and that I trust you completely." Spike read off.
"Mm-hmm." Twilight nodded with her head held high.
"But you simply must stop reading those dusty old books." Spike continued, shocking Twilight at what Celestia wrote back.
~Later~
"My dear Twilight, there is more to a young woman's life than studying." Spike read as he and Twilight were being escorted by a Sky Dragon drawn chariot, her skirt switched out for a pair of purple jeans, and her school shoes switched out for a pair of hiking boots. "So I'm sending you to supervise the preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration, in this years location, Ponyville. An' I have an even more essential task for you to complete... make some friends." Spike read, looking to Twilight, who looked more annoyed at what she was hearing from the letter Celestia wrote to her. "Look on the bright side Twilight, the Princess arranged for you to stay in a library. Doesn't that make you happy?"
"Yes! Yes, it does." Twilight said. "You know why? Because I'm right. I'll check on the preparations as fast as I can, then get to the library to find some proof of Nightmare Dragoness's return."
"Then, when will you make friends, like the Princess said?" Spike asked.
"She said to check on preparations. I am her student, and I will do my royal duty. But the fate of Equestria does not rest on me making friends." Twilight stated sounding a little irritated as the two royal guard Pegasi came to a stop.
"Thank you sirs." Twilight said, hopping off with her backpack.
"Maybe the people in Ponyville have interesting things to talk about." Spike said as a pink fluffy haired girl with a rather impressive figure, came their way, but stopped when Spike started talking again. "Come on Twilight. Just try."
"Uh..." Twilight looked to Spike, than the girl in front of her, before she began to awkwardly say something. "Hello?"
In response, the pink haired girl just jumped five feet off the ground, and gasped, before she went running away, in a cartoonish style.
"Well that was interesting all right." Twilight said before they began walking off, leaving Spike to sigh.
~Task1~
"Summer Sun Celebration Official Overseer's checklist. Number 1... Banquet preparations, Sweet Apple Acres." Spike said.
"Yee-haw." A voice called out a soon as they passed through the gate.
They turned to where the voice came from, and saw a blonde girl with sun kissed skin, and freckles on her face, running towards an apple tree, before she spun around on one foot, and kicked the trunk of the tree with the other, resulting in all the apples in the tree, falling down into the buckets.
The young woman wore a red gingham shirt, tied off under her chest, and over a white shirt, with slim fitting wrangler jean shorts, and a western hat on her head, and work boots tied nice and tight. She looked rather strong and muscular, which Twilight concluded was from her many hard years of working on the farm. Her hair was tied together at the end with a gemstone hair band, and had apple red scales on her cheeks, similar to Twilight's.
"Let's get this over with." Twilight sighed in a bit of annoyance as they went to the young woman. "Good afternoon. My name is Twilight Sparkle." She said, before there was a crunch as the blonde gripped her hand, and began shaking it vigorously, making both their arms, blurs.
"Well howdy-do, Ms. Twilight?" She said cheerfully with a southern accent. "A pleasure making your acquaintance. I'm Applejack. We here at Sweet Apple Acres sure do like making new friends."
"Friends?" Twilight questioned, her voice vibrating as well as her body. "Actually, I..."
"So, what can I do you for?" Applejack asked, as she stopped shaking Twilight's hand, which was still shaking on its own until Spike stopped it with a bit of laughter.
"Well, I am, in fact, here to supervise preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration. An' you're in charge of the food?" Twilight asked.
"We sure as sugar are." Applejack smiled. "Would you care to sample some?"
"As long as it doesn't take too long." Twilight said, before Applejack started ringing the dinner bell.
"Soup's on, everybody." Applejack called out. An' just like that, a practical stampede came rushing past Twilight and Spike, before they were dragged to a table, with their brains rattled. "Now, why don't I introduce y'all to the Apple Family?" Applejack questioned popping up next to Spike.
"Thanks but I really need to hurry."
"This here's Apple Fritter. Apple Bumpkin. Red Gala. Red Delicious. Golden Delicious. Caramel Apple. Apple Strudel. Apple Tart. Baked Apples. Apple Brioche. Apple Cinnamon Crisp." Applejack paused to take in a deep breath. "Big McIntosh. Apple Bloom. An'..." She paused again to shove an apple in Twilight's mouth. "Granny Smith. Up and at 'em Granny Smith. We got guests."
"What?" Granny questioned. "Soup's on? I'm, uh, I'm coming, I'm coming." Granny said getting up out of her rocking chair.
"Why, I'd say they're already part of the family." Applejack said putting a hand on Twilight's shoulder.
This sudden statement caused Twilight to spit out the apple, and chuckle nervously.
"Okay, well, I can see the food situation is handled, so we'll be on our way." Twilight said.
"Aren't ya gonna stay for brunch?"
Twilight looked to who had asked, and saw it was Apple Bloom, a young Earth Dragon like her elder sister with a lighter apple color to the scales on her cheeks, as they were just coming through.
"Sorry. But we have an awful lot to do." Twilight said, seeing the sad look in Apple Bloom's eyes.
Everyone around them gave off a sound of disappointment as she was prioritizing work over food.
"Fine." She sighed after some thought.
This got all of them to cheer.
~Task2~
"Food's all taken care of, next is weather." Spike said, checking off one item from their list.
Meanwhile Twilight was waddling behind him, groaning as her stomach looked big enough to put her in the late stages of the second trimester of a pregnancy.
"Ugh... I ate too much pie." Twilight groaned.
"Hmm, there's supposed to be a Sky Dragoness named Rainbow Dash, clearing the clouds." Spike said, looking up in the sky.
"Well, she's not doing a very good job, is she?" Twilight questioned, before she was rammed into by a speeding rainbow colored blur. The resulting conclusion ended with them both in the mud. Thankfully Spike was wearing Twilight's bag.
"Uh, excuse me." She said with a nervous chuckle as she got up and looked down towards Twilight as she flapped her wings and was off the ground.
The Sky Dragoness had an athletic build, wearing a sports bra with slim fitting shorts, wrist bands, socks, sneakers, and her rainbow colored hair tied off in a ponytail, and training belt around her waist, with a pouch on the small of her back, being rainbow colored. The wings on her back were a light sky blue color, with a bit of a rainbow tint to the edges of her large leathery dragon wings, and sky blue scales on her cheeks and upper arms, shaped like clouds with rainbow colored lightning bolts.
"Let me help you." She said, flying off and coming back with a rain cloud, positioning it over Twilight.
Getting her feet on top of the cloud, she began jumping up and down on it, causing rain to pour down on Twilight, washing away the mud that got in her hair and on her clothes. When she looked over, she had to suppress a laugh when she saw how soaked Twilight was.
"Oops. I guess I overdid it." She chuckled. "Um, uh, how about this?" She asked, before she began flying around Twilight, creating a cyclone of air, and drying her off. But her hair was all frizzy and poofy now. "My very own, patented, Rainblow Dry. No, no. Don't thank me. You're quite welcome, uh..." She stopped when she saw the state Twilight's hair was in, and tried to stifle her laughter, but couldn't contain it, and just burst out laughing, rolling on the ground, with Spike joining in.
"Let me guess... You're Rainbow Dash?" Twilight inquired.
"The one and only." Rainbow said jumping up and knocking Spike off her, before jumping back in the air, and flying about a head above Twilight. "Why, you heard of me?"
"I heard you're supposed to be keeping the sky clear." Twilight said with a sigh. "I'm Twilight Sparkle, and the Princess sent me to check on the weather. All the preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration actually."
"Yeah, yeah. That'll be a snap." Rainbow said, now reclining on a cloud. "I'll do it in a jiffy. Just as soon as I'm done practicing."
"Practicing? For what?" Twilight asked.
"The Wonderbolts." Rainbow smiled, pointing to a poster. "They're gonna perform at the Celebration tomorrow, and I'm gonna show them my stuff."
"The Wonderbolts?" Twilight questioned, as if Rainbow was being delusional.
"Yep."
"The most talented flyers in all of Equestria?"
"That's them."
"Please." Twilight said with a scoff. "They'd never accept a Sky Dragoness who can't even keep the sky clear for one measly day."
"Hey, I could clear this sky in 10 seconds flat." Rainbow said.
"Prove it." Twilight said.
Rainbow took that challenge and went about clearing the sky of clouds, using various methods of martial arts moves involving kicks and punches, to disperse the clouds.
"What'd I say?" Rainbow questioned landing on the railing guard of the bridge they were near. "10 seconds flat." She smiled, sitting down with one leg swinging freely. "I'd never leave Ponyville hanging."
"Actually, that was about eight seconds." Spike said, while Twilight was still in awe.
"Beat my own personal best. Nice." Rainbow cheered, before she laughed, flying back into the air. "You should see the look on your face. Ha, you're a laugh, Twilight Sparkle. I can't wait to hang out some more."
"Wow." Spike said as Rainbow flew away. "She's amazing." He was in awe, pointing in the direction she went, before he began toying with Twilight's frizzled hair again, laughing before she groaned and began walking off. "Wait, it's kind of pretty once you get used to it."
~Task3~
"Decorations." Spike said, marking another box off their list, but as he looked up, his arms went slack as he saw something, or rather someone, that took his breath away. "Beautiful."
"Yes." Twilight agreed, thinking he was talking about the decorations. "The decor is coming along nicely. This ought to be quick. I'll be at the library in no time. Beautiful indeed."
"Not the decor... her." Spike said, pointing to the unicorn using a wand, with her horn to set up the decorations.
The Dragoness Sorceress's hair was a nice shade of purple, which was curled as the ends, and went nicely with her white blouse, and black open leg pencil skirt, complimented with high heels, and pantyhose. Her outfit was completed with a sash around her waist that matched her hair color, with the end resembling the style, and three diamond shaped charms hanging from it and resting on her hips. The scales on her cheeks were a pearl white with the gem on her forehead matching her scales.
"No, no. No. Oh, goodness, no." She said, using her magic, and a wand, to examine different ribbons.
"How's my hair, is it straight?" Spike questioned, running his hand over his slicked back sides.
Twilight just smiled and rolled her eyes as she could help but be amused as she could clearly see the hearts floating up from her assistant, before they went to talk with the Dragoness in charge of the decor.
"Good afternoon." Twilight said.
"Just a moment, please." She said, only glancing at Twilight. "I'm, in the zone, as it were. Oh yes, sparkles always does the trick, does it not?" She questioned, tying a red sparkling ribbon in a boy on one of the banister legs. "Why, Rarity, you are a talent. Now, um, how can I help you... Aah-ha-ha..." Rarity gasped in shock when she saw Twilight's hair. "Oh my stars darling, what ever happened to your Coiffure?"
"Oh, you mean my hair? Well, it's a long story. I'm just here to check on the decorations, and then I'll be out of your hair." Twilight said.
"Out of my hair? What about your hair?" Rarity questioned as she went behind Twilight and began pushing her forward.
"Wait, where are we going?" Twilight asked. "Help." She said, as Spike followed, floating in the air with hearts in his eyes, with his tail acting as a propeller.
~Rarity's Boutique~
"No. No. Unh-unh." Rarity said as she had Twilight try on different clothes. "Too green. Too yellow. Too poofy. Not poofy enough. Too frilly. Too shiny. Now go on, my dear. You were telling me where you're from." Rarity said as she was tightening the jewel encrusted piece she currently had on.
"I've..." Twilight began with a groan as the air was squeezed out of her. "Been sent... from Canterlot... to..." Twilight was flung forward as Rarity subconsciously let go of the strings, after hearing where she was from.
"Canterlot?" Rarity questioned. "Oh, I am so envious. The Glamour, the sophistication. I've always dreamed of living there. I can't wait to hear all about it. We are gonna be the best of friends, you and I." She smiled, before looking down at Twilight's outfit. "Emeralds? What was I thinking? Let me get you some rubies." She exclaimed heading off to the back.
"Quick, before she decides to dye my hair a new color." Twilight said.
~Task4~
"Wasn't she wonderful?" Spike questioned as he was walking beside Twilight in a love trance.
"Focus, Casanova. What's next on the list?" Twilight inquired.
"Oh, uh, music." Spike said, after clearing his throat. "It's the last one."
Twilight and Spike stopped when they heard the beautiful sound of birds singing and chirping a wonderful melody. Peering through the bushes, they spotted a Sky Dragoness, flapping her wings, conducting the music with birds, with long pink hair, wearing a butter yellow sweater with black leggings and sandals, with the scales on her cheeks matching the butter yellow color of her wings. But one of the birds wasn't in rhythm with the others.
"Oh, my. Um, stop, please, everyone." She said, flying up to the branch with the out of rhythm bird on it. "Excuse me, sir. I mean no offence, but your rhythm is just a teeny, tiny bit off. Now, follow me please." She exclaimed as she intended to start the song with the birds again. "A-one, a-two, a-one, two, three."
"Hello." Twilight said, interrupting them, causing the birds to fly away, and spooking the Dragoness. "Oh, my. I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to frighten your birds. I'm just here to check up on the music, and it sounded beautiful."
The Sky Dragoness landed on the ground, and moved her right foot back and forth a bit, kicking nothing on the ground, resulting in a bit of an awkward silence between them.
"I'm Twilight Sparkle." She introduced herself to try and break the silence. "What's your name?"
"Um... I'm..." She mumbled something after that, but it wasn't audible.
"I'm sorry. What was that?"
"Um... my name is..." She mumbled again, making Twilight a bit annoyed.
"Didn't quite catch that." Twilight said.
This resulted in the Sky Dragoness backing up a bit, while whimpering.
"Well, um, it looks like your birds are back. So I guess everything is in order." Twilight said. "Keep up the good work." The Sky Dragoness just whimpered in response. "Okay." She said backing away.
When the Sky Dragoness looked through her hair, she saw Spike coming towards Twilight, and her heart nearly jumped out of her chest.
"Well, that was easy." Twilight said.
"Ah. A baby Ipotane." The Sky Dragoness said cheerfully.
"Technically I'm not a baby." Spike said as the Sky Dragoness, unintentionally bumped Twilight away and crouched down to be eye level with him.
"Oh, I've never seen a baby Ipotane before." She said. "He's so cute. An' he's already able to talk. This is just so incredibly wonderful, I just don't know what to say."
"Well in that case, we'd better be going." Twilight said, using her magic to put Spike on her back, giving him a piggyback ride.
"Wait, wait." The Sky Dragoness said, following them. "What's his name?"
"I'm Spike."
"Hi Spike. I'm Fluttershy." She smiled. "So what do Ipotane's talk about?"
"Well, what do you wanna know?" Spike inquired.
"Absolutely everything." Fluttershy said, causing Twilight to groan.
"Well... I started out as a cute little purple and green baby."
~Sunset~
"An' that's the story of my whole entire life..." Spike said. "Well, up until today. Do you wanna hear about today?"
"Oh, yes, please." Fluttershy said, as she was still following them.
"I'm am so sorry. How did we get here so fast?" Twilight questioned as they were now standing in front of the library she would be in charge of, and living in, until her time in Ponyville was up. "This is where I'm staying while in Ponyville, and my poor baby dragon needs his sleep."
"No I don't. AAH." Spike cried out as he was dropped from Twilight's back, and landed on his butt.
"Aww. Wook at that. He's so sweepy, he can't even keep his wittle bawance." Twilight said, playing his fall off as his own fatigue.
"Poor thing." Fluttershy said, grabbing Spike and cradling him in her arms. "You simply must get him to bed." She exclaimed, flying into the library, with Twilight following close behind, before pushing her out, with Spike no longer in the Dragoness's arms.
"Yes, yes. We'll get right on that." Twilight said. "Well, good night." An' with that she shut the door.
"Huh. Rude much?" Spike asked standing in the pitch black room.
"Sorry, Spike. But I have to convince the Princess that Nightmare Dragoness is coming, and we're running out of time." Twilight said. "I just need to be alone, so I can study without a bunch of crazy people trying to make friends all the time. Now where's the light?" As soon as she asked this, the lights flipped on, and a bunch of people shouted, surprise.
"Surprise." The pink haired girl from before, said greeting Twilight. "Hi, I'm Pinkie Pie, and I threw this party just for you. Were you surprised? Were you? Were you? Were you? Huh? Huh? Huh?" She questioned, talking a mile a minute, the pink scales matching her hair color.
"Very surprised." Twilight said. "Libraries are supposed to be quiet."
"That's silly. What kind of welcome party would this be, if it were quiet?" Pinkie questioned. "I mean, duh! Boring! You see, I saw you when you first got here, remember? You were all, hello, and I was all, gasp, remember? You see, I never saw you before. An' if I never saw you before, that means you're new, 'cause I know everybody, and I mean everybody, in Ponyville. An' if you're new, it meant you hadn't met anyone yet, and if you haven't met anyone yet, you must not have any friends, and if you don't have any friends, then you must be lonely. An' that made me so sad, and I had an idea. An' that's why I went, gasp, I should throw a great, big, super ginormous, super-duper, spectacular welcome party, and invite everyone in Ponyville." As Pinkie was explaining all this, Twilight poured herself a drink, but was unaware of what she'd really been pouring, while Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Fluttershy, and Applejack came to Pinkie's side. "See, and now you have lots, and lots of friends." It was then that Twilight realized what she'd been drinking through her straw.
"Are you all right sugar cube?" Applejack questioned, seeing Twilight's face turning red.
Twilight held in how hot her drink was, as best she could before she jumped in the air, and her hair turned into fire, before she went running for her bedroom on the second floor.
"Aw, she's so happy, she's crying." Pinkie said, getting the wrong idea.
"Actually, she was drinking hot sauce." Spike said, picking up the bottle, before Pinkie took it, and poured some on a cupcake, and ate that pastry.
"What? It's good." Pinkie said with a muffled voice due to a mouthful of cupcake.
~Twilight's Room Late into the Night~
Twilight groaned as the party music could be heard coming all the way from downstairs, and looked at the clock, seeing the part had dragged on until almost six in the morning.
"Hey Twilight. Pinkie Pie's started, pin the tail on the pony. Wanna play?" Spike questioned coming in, wearing a lamp shade over his head.
"No." Twilight said. "All the people in this town, are crazy. Do you know, what time it is?"
"It's the evening of the Summer Sun Celebration." Spike said. "Everyone has to stay up, or they'll miss the Princess raise the sun. You really should lighten up Twilight. It's a party." He exclaimed before heading out.
"Ugh. Here, I thought I'd have time to learn more about the Elements of Harmony, but silly me. All this ridiculous friend-making has kept me from it." Twilight grumbled turning over in her bed, spotting the moon in the sky. "Legend has it that on the longest day of the 1,000th year, the stars will aid in her escape, and she will bring about, everlasting night." She said, pulling the book with the legend out from nowhere with her magic. "I hope the Princess was right. I hope it really is just an old fairy tale."
"Come on Twilight, it's time to watch the sun rise." Spike said barging into her room again.
~Town Hall~
The town hall was packed with every person in Ponyville, with the Sky Dragons occupying the air, and the rest occupying the ground below.
"Isn't this exciting?" Pinkie questioned Twilight as the pink haired girl began talking a mile a minute again. "Are you excited? Because I'm excited. I've never been so excited. Well, except for the time that I saw you walking into town, and I went, gasp, but I mean really, who can top that?"
After that, the orchestra began and the birds began their musical introduction on Fluttershy's command, before the spotlight landed on a grey haired woman, wearing an expensive business suit, with a pencil skirt.
"Ladies and gentlemen. As Mayor of Ponyville, it is my great pleasure to announce the beginning of the Summer Sun Celebration." With that, everyone in there, minus Twilight and Spike, began cheering in celebration of the festivities. "In just a few moments, our town will witness the magic of the sunrise, and celebrate this, the longest day, of the year." As the mayor spoke Twilight looked up to the moon through the sky light, just as four stars disappeared behind the moon, and the image of a unicorn mare, vanished from the moon's surface. "An' now, it is my great honor to introduce to you, the ruler of our land, the very person who gives us the sun and the moon, each and every day. The good, the wise, the bringer of harmony to all of Equestria..."
"Ready?" Fluttershy asked her birds.
"Princess Celestia."
Up above, Rarity pulled the rope to split the curtains, as the birds began to sing, but there was no one there.
"This, can't be good." Twilight said as the crowd began to cheer.
"Remain calm everyone. There must be a reasonable explanation." The Mayor said, sounding a bit panicked herself.
"Ooh, ooh. I love guessing games." Pinkie said, bouncing right beside Twilight. "Is she hiding?"
"She's gone." Rarity called from the balcony, causing everyone to gasp.
"Ooh, she's good." Pinkie said. "AAH." She cried out as a blue mist began to form on the balcony where Celestia was supposed to be.
"Oh, no." Twilight said in a whisper. "Nightmare Dragoness." Spike fainted.
The person standing there was the opposite of bright and cheerful. It was a woman with a midnight blue diamond gem on the center of her forehead, and Dragoness wings, wearing dark armor, with misty blue night hair that flowed and waved like a milky river.
"Oh, my beloved subjects. It's been so long, since I've seen your precious little sun-loving faces." Nightmare said.
"What did you do with our Princess?" Rainbow questioned. When she tried to fly towards Nightmare to attack her, she was pulled back by Applejack grabbing her own belt.
"Whoa there, Nelly." The apple farmer said.
"Why?" Nightmare questioned after laughing evilly. "Am I not royal enough for you? Don't you know who I am?"
"Ooh, ooh. More guessing games." Pinkie smiled. "Um, Hokey Smokes. How about, Queen Meanie? No, Black Snooty, Black Snooty." She would have continued with the guessing games if Applejack hadn't freed up a hand to shove an apple in her mouth.
"Does my crown no longer count, now that I have been imprisoned for 1,000 years?" Nightmare questioned. "Did you not recall the legend? Did you not see the signs?"
"I did." Twilight said gaining her attention. "An' I know who you are. You're the Drake in the Moon, Nightmare Dragoness."
All the people gathered gasped when her identity was revealed.
"Well, well, well. Somebody who remembers me." Nightmare said, her wings folding up. "Then you also know why I'm here."
"You're here to... to..." Twilight gulped in nervousness as she didn't need to retell the story.
"Remember this day little ones, for it was your last. From this moment forth, the night will last forever." The dark Drakino said, laughing evilly as thunder and lightning cracked within the building.
"Seize her. Only she knows where the Princess is." The mayor ordered, as the Sky Dragoness guards went flying at Nightmare.
"Stand back you fools." She declared before she used her magic to knock them back with bolts of lightning, and turning into mist to disappear into the night.
"Come back here." Rainbow called out as she broke free of Applejack's grip and went flying after her, only to lose Nightmare as she was too fast in her mist form. "Nighttime... forever?" She questioned, before spotting Twilight, running for the library, with Spike in her arms. "Where's she going?"
~Library~
"We gotta stop Nightmare." Spike said, waking up in his bed, but was barely awake, as he fell back against his pillow, and Twilight tucked him in.
"You've been up all night Spike. You are a baby Ipotane, after all." Twilight said.
"I'm not a baby." Spike mumbled before he began sucking his thumb.
After leaving Spike to sleep, there was a loud thud in the main library, as Twilight began tearing the place apart.
"Elements, Elements, Elements. Ugh." Twilight groaned, using her magic to comb through all the books. "How can I stop Nightmare Dragoness, without the Elements of Harmony?"
"An' just, what are the Elements of Harmony?" Rainbow questioned, getting in her face. "An' how did you know about Nightmare Dragoness, huh? Are you a spy?" She inquired before being pulled back by Applejack.
"Simmer down, Sally. She ain't no spy. But she sure knows what's going on. Don't ya, Twilight?" Applejack questioned as Rarity, Pinkie, and Fluttershy joined them.
"I read all about the prediction of Nightmare Dragoness. Some mysterious objects called the Elements of Harmony, are the only things that can stop her. But I don't know what they are, where to find them. I don't even know what they do."
"The Elements of Harmony, a reference guide." Pinkie read standing by one of the shelves.
"How did you find that?" Twilight questioned pushing her out of the way.
"It was under 'E'." Pinkie said.
"Oh." Twilight said, before pulling the book out. "There are six Elements of Harmony, but only five are known... Kindness, laughter, generosity, honesty, and loyalty. The sixth, is a complete mystery. It is said, the last known location of the five elements, was in the ancient castle of the Royal Drakino Sisters. It is located in what is now...
~And so...~
"The Everfree Forest?" Applejack, Rainbow, Rarity, Pinkie, and Fluttershy, questioned as they now stood before the forest.
"Whee! Let's go!" Pinkie said cheerfully.
"Not so fast." Twilight said. "Look, I appreciate the offer, but I'd really rather do this on my own."
"No can do, Sugar Cube. We sure ain't letting any friend of ours go into that creepy place alone. We're sticking to you, like caramel on a candy apple." Applejack said, with the others agreeing.
"Especially if there's candy apples in there." Pinkie smiled. "What? Those things are good."
Twilight just sighed as she went walking in, following after the others. She had to give them props for courage, and for Rarity, since she was able to change her outfit so fast to suit this trek through the Evergreen Forest. Eventually, Twilight took the lead.
"So, none of you have ever been in here before?" Twilight inquired.
"Oh, heavens no. Just look at it. It's dreadful!" Rarity said.
"An' it ain't natural." Applejack said. "Folks say, it don't work the same way as Equestria."
"What's that supposed to mean?" Twilight asked.
"No one knows." Rainbow said, in a creepy scary voice, coming out of the shadows, stalking up to Fluttershy, Rarity, and Pinkie. "You know why?"
"Rainbow, quit it." Applejack said sternly.
"Because every one who's ever come in, has never come... out!" She shouted, right before the cliff they were on broke.
With Fluttershy and Rainbow being the only ones to fly, the others were left to fall, before Rainbow was the one to react fast.
"Fluttershy, quick."
"Oh, my goodness. Oh, my goodness!" Fluttershy said, following Rainbow to save the others.
Rainbow grabbed Pinkie, Fluttershy grabbed Rarity, and Applejack grabbed a root she spotted on the way down, leaving Twilight as the only one who remained falling towards the ravine below. She managed to stop herself before she could go over the edge.
"Hold on, I'm a-coming." Applejack said, letting go of the root she was holding, and sliding down to help Twilight back up.
"Applejack, what do I do?" Twilight questioned, struggling to get a footing.
Applejack didn't know what to do, but when she looked up, she had the solution.
"Let go." Applejack said.
"Are you crazy?" Twilight questioned.
"No, I ain't." Applejack said. "I promise you'll be safe."
"That's not true."
"Now listen here. What I'm saying to you, is the honest truth. Let go, and you'll be safe."
Twilight looked Applejack directly in the eye, and saw she was telling the truth. So with a leap of faith, Twilight let go of Applejack's hands, and went falling, screaming at the top of her lungs, until she felt two pairs of arms catch her. Opening her eyes, she saw it was Rainbow and Fluttershy.
"Phew." She sighed. "Aah." She cried out when Fluttershy's fingers slipped.
"Sorry girls. I'm not used to holding anything more than a bunny or two." Fluttershy said.
~Later~
"An' once Pinkie and Rarity were safe, whoa, me and Fluttershy loop-the-looped around and, wham, caught you right in the nick of time." Rainbow said, retelling what had happened.
"Yes, Rainbow, I was there, and I'm very grateful." Twilight said, looking over some notes she brought. "But we got to..."
Twilight stopped when something large jumped out in front of them, and they saw it was a Manticore, and it roared at them.
"A Manticore." Twilight cried out as the beast growled. "We've gotta get past him." She said, as Fluttershy noticed something.
The Manticore lunged at Rarity and took a swing at her, but she jumped back, and used her magic to hit the beast in the face with a large rock.
"Take that, you ruffian!" Rarity declared, before the Manticore roared at her, with enough force to straighten her hair, before it resembled what Twilight's hair looked like earlier. "My hair." That's when she looked at the Manticore and ran.
"Wait." Fluttershy said as the Manticore gave chase.
Before the beast could go far however, Applejack jumped up, and mounted the Manticore by its shoulders.
"Yee-haw. Get along little doggy." Applejack cheered as the Manticore tried getting her off like a bucking bronco.
"Wait." Fluttershy tried calling out louder, before the Manticore managed to fling the girl off.
"All yours partner." Applejack said, flying past Rainbow, before landing on the ground, creating a small crater.
"I'm, on it." Rainbow said, saluting her, before flying at the Manticore.
"Wait." Fluttershy said, louder than before as Rainbow began flying around it, to try and disorient it. But that didn't work in the long run as the Manticore managed to hit her with its tail.
"Rainbow." Twilight called out as the Sky Dragoness slid to a halt in front of them.
The five girls glared at the Manticore, and vice versa. With a moment of silence, they began charging at the Manticore, not showing any sign of stopping.
"WAIT." Fluttershy shouted, getting in front of them.
With her friends stopped, Fluttershy turned towards the Manticore, and calmly walked up towards it, not showing any fear, even as the Manticore growled and raised its paw to attack, causing the others to cover their eyes, expecting the worst to happen to her.
"Shh. It's okay." Fluttershy said. This caused the others to look up and they saw her take one of the Manticore's paws into her hand, and stroke it gently, showing she's a friend. The Manticore looked at her, and she looked it in the eye, showing she just wanted to help, so the Manticore flipped the paw she was holding, over in her hands, showing the thorn that had somehow lodged itself in there. "Oh you poor, poor little baby." She said, reaching into her pocket and pulling out a first aid kit.
"Little?" Rainbow questioned.
"Now, this might hurt for just a second." Fluttershy exclaimed softly holding a dollop of vaseline on her pinkie. With the same hand, Fluttershy gripped the thorn and pulled it out, while quickly applying the topical milliseconds after it was removed. The stinging of the thorn being pulled caused the Manticore to roar, as it pulled her in closer.
"FLUTTERSHY." The others called on in concern, before they calmed down, seeing the Manticore licking her with affection, while purring.
"Oh, you're just a little old bay kitty, aren't you?" Fluttershy asked while giggling. "Yes, you are. Yes, you are."
The others took that as an opportunity to make it past the Manticore, and waited for Fluttershy to follow, mainly with Twilight speaking to her first.
"How did you know about the thorn?" Twilight inquired.
"I didn't. Sometimes we all just need to be shown a little kindness." Fluttershy said.
~Deeper into the Forest~
"My eyes need a rest, from all this icky muck." Rarity said with a shudder, before their vision became overshadowed with darkness. "I didn't mean that literally."
"That ancient ruin could be right in front of our faces, and we wouldn't even know it." Twilight exclaimed.
As they all began grumbling and tumbling in the dark, they stopped when Applejack spoke up.
"Oh wait, I think I stepped in something."
"AAAAHHH." Fluttershy screamed.
"It's just mud." Applejack said, walking forward, before she began facing forward, and jumped back, finding the tree she was heading for, had a terrifying face.
As the others looked around, they all began to see the trees were terrifying, like they were the solidified personas of monsters whose souls the trees absorbed, resulting in most of them screaming.
The only person who wasn't screaming, was Pinkie Pie. Pinkie Pie, was laughing, and making her own faces at the scary faces.
"Pinkie, what are you doing?" Twilight questioned. "Run."
"Oh, girls, don't you see? They're just tree trunks with scary faces on them." Pinkie said. "Just laugh at them, and all your fear will melt away."
~After~
"How are we gonna cross this?" Pinkie questioned, as they stopped as a river with no clear path to cross, before they heard sobbing coming from somewhere further down the river. They went to investigate, and saw a giant sea serpent with beautifully sun colored, orange hair, and half a moustache.
"Oh, what a world. What a world." The creature cried slamming his fists into the water.
"Excuse me, sir. Why are you crying?" Twilight asked.
"Well, I don't know. I was just sitting here, minding my own business, when this tacky little cloud of purple smoke just whisked past me, and tore half of my beloved moustache clean off. An' now, I look simply horrid." The Serpent said, flopping into the water, and splashing all of them.
"Oh, give me a break." Rainbow said, ringing out her hair.
"That's what all the fuss is about?" Applejack questioned, doing the same to her gingham shirt.
"Why of course it is." Rarity said getting in their faces. "How can you be so insensitive?" She questioned before walking up to the Serpent. "Oh, just look at him. Such lovely luninescent scales."
"I know." The Serpent said with a sniff.
"An' your expertly coiffed mane."
"Oh, I know, I know."
"Your fabulous manicure."
"It's so true."
"All ruined, without your beautiful moustache."
"It's true, I'm hideous."
"I simply cannot let such a crime against fabulosity go uncorrected." Rarity said, pulling a pair of scissors out from her handbag.
Pulling back her own hair, Rarity put the scissor blades as close to her skull as she safely could, and with a tight grip on her locks, and cut through her hair. The Serpent seemed to faint, as Rarity sacrificed her own locks, and using her magic, attached her hair with a braiding weave to what little remained of the cut moustache.
"Oh-ho-ho-ho-ho." The Serpent giggled with glee. "My moustache. How wonderful."
"You look smashing." Rarity said, putting the scissors away in her bag.
"Oh Rarity, your beautiful hair." Twilight said, walking up to her.
"Oh, it's fine my dear. Short hair is in this season. Besides, it'll grow back." Rarity said.
"So would the moustache." Rainbow said.
"We can cross now. Let's go... Aah" Twilight said with a happy gasp, before crying out as she was suddenly removed from the water by the Serpent's body.
"Allow me." The Serpent said, using his own body as a bridge to let them cross the river.
~And so...~
"There is it." Twilight said as they cleared the thicket of the bush. "The ruin that hold the Elements of Harmony. We made it."
"Twilight, wait for us." Applejack called out as the unicorn ran ahead of them.
"We're almost there." Twilight smiled, before skidding to a stop. "Whoa." She cried out, almost losing her balance and falling down the ravine, if Rainbow hadn't pulled her back in time.
"What's with you, and falling off cliffs today?" Rainbow questioned.
"Now what?" Pinkie asked.
"Duh." Rainbow said, flapping her wings in front of her, before taking to the sky, and diving down to grab the other end of the bridge. Flying up out of the ravine, Rainbow flew to the other side, and began tying off the other end of the bridge.
"Rainbow." A woman's voice echoed behind her.
"Who's there?" Rainbow questioned, dropping the rope.
"Rainbow."
"I ain't scared of you." She said throwing some punches. "Show yourself."
"We've been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the best flyer in Equestria."
"Who?"
"Why, you, of course."
"Really? I mean, oh, yea, me." Rainbow said.
"Hey, uh, you wouldn't mind telling the Wonderbolts that, would you? 'Cause I've been trying to get into that group for-like-ever." Rainbow said.
"No, Rainbow Dash. We want you to join us, the Shadowbolts." The voice said, as three Pegasi, one woman and two men, came running out of the fog, wearing purple and black suits with gold tinted goggles. "We're the greatest aerial team in the Everfree Forest, and soon we will be the greatest in all Equestria. But first, we need a captain. The most magnificent..."
"Yep."
"Swiftest..."
"Yes."
"Bravest flyer in all the land."
"Yes. It's all true." Rainbow said.
"We need... you."
"Whoo-hoo." Rainbow cheered. "Sign me up. Just let me tie this bridge real quick, and then we have a deal."
"No. It's them, or us."
"Rainbow, what's taking so long?" Twilight called out before spotting the Shadowbolts. "Oh no. Don't listen to them." She tried to warn, but she was blocked from saying anything.
"Well?" The Shadowbolt leader asked.
"You." Rainbow said. "Thank you, for the offer, I mean. But I'm afraid I have to say no." She exclaimed, tying up the bridge, before flying off to the others.
"Good job Rainbow." Twilight smiled.
"See, I'd never leave my friends hanging." Rainbow smiled.
~Inside the Castle~
"Whoa." Twilight said in awe as they found the Elements of Harmony.
"Come on Twilight. Isn't this what you've been waiting for?" Applejack questioned.
"The Elements of Harmony. We found them." Twilight said, before Rainbow and Fluttershy began removing them one by one. "Careful, careful."
"Uh, we've got a problem." Pinkie said. "I count only five elements."
"Where's the sixth?" Rainbow questioned.
Before Twilight could answer, the display in which the stone orbs had been on, began to shake, before if fell apart, revealing a stone figure hidden within, kneeling on one leg, in the superhero landing position. It looked like he had a serious expression on his face, and a gem embedded in his chest. His hair was long and spiked back, and his body if made of flesh, looked like it could be carved from a block of marble.
"Who's this guy?" Rainbow questioned examining him.
"I haven't the foggiest idea." Applejack said.
"It can't be." Twilight exclaimed, pulling a book, and old book, from her bag slung over her shoulder and flipping through the pages. "I've seen this man before."
"Who is he Twilight?" Rarity asked.
"Give me a sec. He's only rumored to be nothing more than a myth, even by Drake in the Moon standards." Twilight exclaimed stopping on a page. "The Angelic Warrior Prince."
"The what now?" Applejack asked, for clarification.
"Long ago, long before Nightmare Dragoness, a strange object came falling from the heavens, and landed near the natural boarders of Equestria. The Predecessors of the Two Sisters, rulers of that time, went in search of what it was, and in returning, brought back a child of immense strength, and the name of his race. Raised alongside the two sisters, the young man became the Prince, and he was renowned all across the land for his gifts. With the heart of an angel and the strength and battle instincts of a wild animal, he was loved, feared, and respected in the hearts of the people. But despite his abilities, he only fought to protect the peace in Equestria, and all the lands. Eventually, he became known as the Angelic Warrior Prince, but perished in the battle against Nightmare Dragoness." Twilight read aloud, showing the same figure was in the pages of the book. "He was only supposed to be myth, but if he's here, and buried like this, then that means, we've just unearthed the burial sight of the legendary warrior, strong enough to take on all of Equestria, by himself."
"That's not good." Applejack said. "Granny Smith always said, that if his grave were ever disturbed, it'd be hell on earth for those who'd done the deed."
"She believe he was real huh?" Twilight asked.
"She did. My whole family did." Applejack said.
"Hold up, what was his actual name? If we wasn't just some myth, then what was his actual Equestrian name?" Rainbow questioned.
"His name was..."
"Silver." A booming woman's voice echoed around them.
Before anyone could do anything in reaction to that voice, a blue mist began circling the five elements, and creating a tornado, pushing all others back from the wind force alone.
"The Elements." Twilight cried, racing to the twister, and jumping in it, before she and the elements disappeared.
"Where'd she go?" Rarity questioned.
"What happened?" Pinkie asked.
"What's going on?" Fluttershy questioned.
"Twilight, where are you?" Applejack called out.
"Look." Rarity said, as she spotted something out the window.
"Come on." Applejack declared.
"Um girls..." Fluttershy said with a pause, as the sound of rustling stone began to echo around the room.
The five girls looked to where the source of that sound was coming from, as they spotted the statue of Silver, quaking and cracking, as the eyes began to glow a golden hue.
Meanwhile, up in the tower Rarity had spotted, Twilight was on the ground, watching in horror as the five elements circled Nightmare Dragoness. But the sight wasn't enough to stop Twilight, as she got up and held up her hands in a show of strength.
"You're kidding... you're kidding right?" Nightmare Dragoness questioned, not the least bit intimidated.
Twilight was serious, as her horn lit up with magic, which enveloped her fists, and she began running at Nightmare Dragoness. Recognizing the challenge, Nightmare Dragoness went charging at Twilight, but just as the two were about to collide with one another, Twilight disappeared in a teleportation spell, and reappeared in the center of the elements, groaning a bit.
"Just one spark of magic." Twilight said as her horn began to glow again, enveloping her hands in magic once more. "Come on, come on." She pleaded as the five elements began to glow.
In turn, Nightmare Dragoness used her teleportation spell, and was in front of Twilight again. With her presence there, Twilight's magic enveloping the elements, backfired, and zapped her across the room, sliding across the ground. But the magic was still circling the elements as Nightmare Dragoness now stood in the middle of the circle.
"No. NO." Nightmare Dragoness cried, before the magic circling the elements, died out.
"But... where's the sixth element?" Twilight questioned with a gasp, as Nightmare Dragoness began laughing.
Raising her foot, Nightmare Dragoness stomped on the ground hard, the reverberations sending shockwaves through the elements, and shattering them.
"You little fool. Thinking you could defeat me." Nightmare Dragoness said. "Now you will never see your princess, or your sun. The night, will last, forever."
"Don't count on it Lunie."
Nightmare Dragoness's eyes widened when she heard that voice, and looked up, just in time to see someone coming down, from the open ceiling, and land on the ground, building up a cloud of dust.
Twilight was taken aback as the dust cloud continued to grow, before Nightmare Dragoness was sent flying out of it, and landed hard against the wall. Directing her attention back at the dust cloud, as it began to clear, Twilight's eyes widened when she saw the person who had sent Nightmare Dragoness flying, and recognized him as the statue that had been guarding the Elements.
"Twilight Sparkle?" He questioned, looking right at her.
"Y-yes..."
"I think it's time for you and your friends to shine." Silver smiled as the shattered piece of the Elements began floating into the air.
"Twilight, hang on we're coming." Applejack's voice rang out.
Twilight turned around to the stairwell leading into the room, and felt something within her spark.
"Nightmare Dragoness." Silver said as the evil woman picked herself up. "This ends now."
"How are you still alive?" Nightmare Dragoness questioned. "I saw you perish before Celestia banished me to that cursed moon."
"I did die. But the last of my life was saved, and my body preserved in stone as I healed by Celestia. However, the spell wouldn't be broken until your return. So I waited patiently for the day you would return." Silver exclaimed. "In that time I trained my mind, and honed my power for this fateful encounter."
Nightmare Dragoness glared at him, before she went rushing at Silver, their hands colliding as it became a battle of strengths. The collision of the two power houses resulted in an echoing boom and a shockwave that knocked Twilight back.
"You think, you can destroy the Elements of Harmony, like they were made of some cheap ceramic material?" Silver questioned as he pushed back against her. "It ain't that simple. Fore the spirits, embodying the Elements of Harmony, are in this very room." He smiled.
Nightmare Dragoness didn't want to believe him, but turning her head, to spare a glance behind her, she saw all six of the girls who'd come looking for the Elements, with a cluster of shard circling each of them.
"Applejack, who reassured me when I was in doubt, represents the Spirit of Honesty." Twilight said as the element formed a necklace that hung itself on Applejack with an apple shaped gem. "Fluttershy, who tamed the Manticore with her compassion, represents the Spirit of Kindness." She named as a necklace formed on her with a butterfly shaped gem. "Pinkie Pie, who banished fear by giggling in the face of danger, represents the Spirit of Laughter." The shards around Pinkie merged and formed a necklace with a balloon shaped gem. "Rarity, who calmed a sorrowful serpent with a meaningful gift, represents the Spirit of Generosity." A necklace formed on Rarity with diamond shaped gem in the center. "An' Rainbow Dash, who could not abandon her friends for her own hearts desire, represents the Spirit of Loyalty." The final necklace formed on Rainbow, lightning bolt shaped gem in the center."
"You still don't have the sixth element, the spark didn't work." Nightmare said as she was loosing her fight against Silver.
"But it did." Silver said. "It was a different kind of spark. One that magic was not involved with creating."
"I felt it the very moment I realized how happy I was to hear you." Twilight said, turning to look at her friends. "To see you, how much I cared about you. The spark ignited inside me, when I realized that you all, are my friends."
With that the sixth element showed itself, as it came out of what little remained of the ceiling, and floated down to Twilight, as it remained floating above her.
"You see Nightmare Dragoness..." Silver smiled, knocking her feet out from under her, and sending the woman to the ground, while grabbing her in a choke hold. "The spark needed was the spark of light that resides in the heart of us all. The spark is what creates the sixth element, the element of..."
"Magic." Twilight finished as the sixth element changed shape, and turned into a tiara with a nova star shaped gem in the center.
With all six Elements of Harmony brought together, the power created began to manifest and formed two ribbons of different colors, eventually forming a rainbow.
"This is where it ends for you Nightmare Dragoness." Silver said, pulling Nightmare up and holding her in place to keep her from escaping as the rainbow beam struck her, and began enveloping the two of them in a twister of colors.
When the light of the attack died down, all six girls were on the ground, as they began to regain consciousness.
"Oh, my head." Rainbow groaned, rubbing her head.
"Everybody okay?" Applejack inquired.
"Oh thank goodness." Rarity's voice sounded excited. They looked to see that her hair had grown back to it's previous state before she'd cut it off.
"Why Rarity, it's so lovely." Fluttershy said.
"I know, I'll never part with it again." Rarity said.
"No, your necklace. It looks just like your cutie mark." Fluttershy said.
"So does yours."
"Look at mine, look at mine." Pinkie bounced as they all began inspecting their necklaces.
"Aw yeah." Rainbow said with a smile.
"Gee Twilight." Applejack began. "I thought you were just spouting a lot of hooey. "But I recon, we really do represent the elements of friendship."
"Indeed you do." A soft feminine voice echoed, as the sun began to rise and the moon began to set.
After the sun had risen, a bright white light formed, and from that light, a woman with a flowing white dress, hugging her curves, flowing green, blue, and pink hair, with both Dragon Wings and a gold diamond shaped gemstone on the center of her forehead, stepped towards them, a gentle smile on her face.
"Princess Celestia." Twilight smiled with a gasp, running to the princess as she the others bowed to her.
"Twilight Sparkle, my faithful student." Celestia smiled, pulling Twilight in for a hug. "I knew you could do it.
"But... you told me it was all an old fairy tale." Twilight said.
"I told you, that you needed to make some friends, nothing more." Celestia said. "I saw the signs of Nightmare Dragoness's return, and I knew it was you, who had the magic inside to defeat her. But you could not unleash it, until you let true friendship into your heart. Now if only another will, as well."
The six girls all looked to each other, before looking towards where Nightmare Dragoness and Silver had been, and saw the fighter standing in front of them, holding a young girl, with light blue hair, Dragoness Wings, and a twilight blue gem in the center of her forehead, wearing a slim but elegant dress, sleeping soundly in his arms, or was as she began to wake up.
"Princess Luna." Celestia said as Luna woke up with a gasp. "It has been a thousand years since I have seen you like this."
"It's time to put our differences behind us." Silver said. "You were meant to rule together, as a family, my little sisters."
"Sisters?" The others questioned in shock.
"Will you accept our friendship?" Celestia questioned.
There was a moment of silence as Luna was nervous, but that silence was broken when she pulled both Silver and Celestia in for a hug.
"I'm so sorry. I missed you both so much big sister, big brother." Luna said. "An' I'm so, so happy you're not dead because of me Silver."
"I'm fine Lunie. You've nothing to fear." Silver smiled, wrapping his arms around both Luna and Celestia. "I fell though, that I've got a lot to catch up on since I was petrified after using the Elements to send you to the moon, a thousand years ago."
"Wait, you used the Elements to banish her to the moon?" Twilight questioned.
"He did." Celestia smiled, enjoying the look of shock on her student's face at this revelation. "The only reason why the history books say I banished her, was because I was the only one to come out of the battle at all."
"Hey, you know what this calls for?" Pinkie questioned.
~Ponyville~
"A party." Pinkie cheered throwing confetti in the air as all of Ponyville began dancing and celebrating in the party, at not only the return of Celestia, but also the return of Luna and Silver as well.
As the party was going on, and the people were having fun, Twilight looked like she wasn't all that happy.
"Why so glum my faithful student?" Celestia questioned. "Are you not happy that your quest is complete, and you can return to your studies in Canterlot?"
"That's just it. Just when I learn how wonderful it is to have friends, I have to leave them." Twilight said.
"Spike, take a note please." Celestia said as Spike pulled out a quill and paper. "I Princess Celestia, hereby decree, that the unicorn Twilight Sparkle, shall take on a new mission for Equestria. She must continue to study the Magic of Friendship, she must report to me her findings, from her new home, in Ponyville."
"Oh thank you Princess Celestia. I'll study harder than ever before." Twilight smiled as she was pulled into a group hug by her friends.
"As for you Silver." Celestia said.
"Yeah yeah, I know I got to return to my royal duties as eldest sibling and Prince of Equestria." Silver said, his tail flicking behind him. "This is definitely gonna get in the way of my training. I'm already a thousand years behind."
"Actually, I was gonna say, I would like for you to stay in Ponyville and keep an eye on Twilight and her friends, and maybe make a few of your own." Celestia said. "After all, who better for this task, than the Prince of the Saiyans?"
Yes I'm a Brony. Deal with it.
A/N: Please leave a review. No flames please.
An' yes, I skipped Pinkie's song from episode 2 of season 1, because I was writing that part at 3 in the morning.
Ipotane: Half human, half horse.
Origin: Greek Mythology and lore.
It's also the only thing I could find as a suitable replacement for Pony, when no one in my story is actually a pony.
An' yes Ponies are Dragons, and Spike is a Pony. The whole humanoid Pony thing, is cliched, and overused. So I chose to spice it up with a species swap.
Don't me.
An' if you don't like the crossover, don't read it. I actually like both series, and thought this would make for an interesting rewrite.
An' you'll find out why all the towns remain the same in name, in a later chapter. But for now, enjoy the story.
