Chapter 1 A Dressing Memories Part 1

On a bright and sunny day, Starlight Glimmer, Falling Star, and Spike are walking to Carousel Boutique to visit Rarity and to ask her for an important favor. Spike knocks on the front door and waits for Rarity. The group becomes confused, and Spike has a box in his possession.

He opens the door and peeks inside, "Uh, Rarity? Starlight and I kinda need your help."

In the boutique, Rarity is working on Twilight's coronation dress, and notices the other walking in, "Ooh, uh, I'm afraid I can't just now. Twilight will be here any moment for her fitting."

"That's why we're here. Spike and I are putting together something special for the coronation," Starlight says.

"Darling, we're all putting together something for the coronation. Be thankful you're not doing the gown," Rarity says, a bit stressed and cutting the fabric with scissors using her magic.

Then glares to Rarity, "This is my fourteenth version!"

"Don't worry Rarity, it's not as bad as it looks," Falling Star says.

"She's right, This is different. It's from all of us. And it's kind of about all of us, too," Spike says, holding the box.

Starlight lifts the box with her magic, "I combined some ancient spells to make a magical scrapbook, and now all we need is some memories to go inside."

"That way, Twilight can have a collection of memories to look at any time she wants. All we need you to do is—" Spike says.

But suddenly, they hear a knock on the door.

Followed by Princess Twilight's voice, "Rarity? It's Twilight. Are you sure we need to do another fitting? I don't think my sizes have changed."

Starlight panics, "Aah! Did we mention we want it to be a surprise?!"

"And that we don't want Twilight to know about it," Falling Star adds.

"What can we do?" Rarity asks.

Falling Star turns to Rarity and asks, "You have a place for us to hide."

"In here, "Rarity says, and opens the curtain to the back room.

"We want to be sure to get some of Twilight's own memories, so just get her talking about old times with you," Spike says.

"I'll do the rest," Starlight says with pride.

Rarity rolls her eyes and walks away, "We get it, Starlight. You're good at magic."

Falling Star turns to Rarity, "I help you talk to Twilight about her memories."

Rarity walks to the front door and opens it to reveal Twilight.

"I thought maybe you weren't home," Twilight says.

"Not home? Darling, I would never miss a fitting," Rarity says, and takes Twilight inside.

"Of course not, and I really appreciate you being so generous with your time," Twilight replies.

Then asks, "But are all these fittings really necessary?"

Rarity scoffs and says, "Darling! The perfect fit is imperative! And as for my time, well, I am far from the most generous pony in Equestria."

"Actually, that's exactly what you are," Twilight says.

"I agree," Falling Star says.

Twilight turns to see the other unicorn and happily says, "Falling Star, I didn't know you were here."

"Yeah. I decided to come to town and hang out with you guys. And I am curious about the stuff you and Sun have done for Equestria so far," Falling Star says.

"Glad you think so. Of course, I was just telling Rarity about her being the most generous pony in Equestria. In fact, I've seen it since we met," Twilight says.

Clip 1: My Little Pony S1 EP. 2 - Friendship is Magic

On the night of the Summer Sun Celebration, and Nightmare Moon has returned, Twilight and her friends are going through the Everfree Forest to find the Elements of Harmony. Along the way, they come across a rapidly flowing river, and the one causing it is a large sea serpent named Steven Magnet. He rapidly moves his tail and splashes the water like crazy.

Steven cries out, "What a world, what a world."

Twilight walks up to him and calmly asks, "Excuse me, sir. Why are you crying?"

"Well, I don't know. I was just sitting here, minding my own business, when this tacky little cloud of purple smoke just whisked past me and tore half of my beloved mustache clean off," Steven says, and shows them the tear up mustache on his face.

Then he cries out, "and now I look simply horrid."

He then whales and splashes the girls with water.

"Oh, give me a break," Rainbow mutters, annoyed.

"That's what all the fuss is about?" Applejack questions

"Why, of course it is. How can you be so insensitive?" Rarity says.

Then Rarity walks up to Steven, "Oh, just look at him. Such lovely luminescent scales."

Steven sniffles and says, "I know."

"And your expertly coiffed mane," Rarity says, noticing his orange color mane.

"Oh, I know, I know," Steven says, and brushes his mane.

"Your fabulous manicure," Rarity complements.

Steven gasps happily, "It's so true!"

"All ruined without your beautiful mustache," Rarity says.

"It's true, I'm hideous!" Steven cries out.

Rarity narrows her eyes and says, "I simply cannot let such a crime against fabulosity go uncorrected."

Rarity then uses her teeth and pulls out one of his scales, causing him to yelp, "What did you do that for?"

Confused, Twilight asks, "Rarity, what are you-"

Twilight can finish, she and the others become shocked to hear a sharp cutting sound. That also causes Steven to faint on the spot. Turns out, Rarity uses Stven's sharp and beautiful scale to cut off her tail. Then with her magic, Rarity attaches her tail to the broken mustache.

Steven regains consciousness to see his new mustache and is as happy as can be, "Oh-hohohoho! My mustache. How wonderful."

"You look smashing," Rarity says.

Twilight walks up to Rarity and says with concern, "Oh, Rarity, your beautiful tail…"

"Oh. It's fine, my dear. Short tails are in this season. Besides, it'll grow back," Rarity says.

Clip 2: My Little Pony S4 Ep. 8 - Rarity Takes Manehattan

In Manehattan, Twilight, and the girls are on a trip so that Rarity can compete in a fashion competition. The girls are walking down the streets of Manehattan to see the sights.

Then Applejack notices, Hey, look! That's the theatre where Hinny of the Hills is playin'!"

What they see is the theater where a show called Hinny of the Hills is going to be playing. Along with a huge line in front of the theater. Everyone ooh in amazement.

Twilight turns to Rarity and asks, "Wow, Rarity! How'd you manage to get us seats for tomorrow night?"

"Oh, I gave some designs to the costume designer, so he pulled a few strings," Rarity says.

"Cool!" Applejack Pinkie, and Rainbow reply.

"That is what makes Manehattan so splendid and amazing. You do something nice for somepony, and then you never know when they'll do something nice for you!" Rarity says.

"So then you can do something nice for us!" Applejack says.

"Like get us in to see Hinny of the Hills!" Fluttershy adds.

Then Rainbow says, "Which is only the best musical in all of Equestria!"

"It must be good if Rainbow Dash is impressed. Normally she doesn't even like musicals," Applejack comments.

Then Rainbow says, "I know. Ponies just bursting into song in random places at the drop of a hat? Who does that?"

Then Rarity kicks into a song:

Rarity:

Oh, Manehattan, what you do to me

Such a huge bustling community

And there's always opportunity

To do the friendly thing

Soon, the girls begin to walk down the streets of Manhattan with Spike carrying the luggage. Rarity leans to Spike.

Rarity:

If some are grouchy, pay no mind

Surprise instead with something kind

Rarity then buys a veggie dog for Spike.

Rarity:

Lo and behold, you may just find

A smile is what you bring

Before Spike can eat it, a bird swoops down and snatches the food away.

Soon, Rarity and the others arrived at the Manefair Hotel, where they'll be staying.

The Bellhop walks over and says, "Welcome to the Manefair Hotel! Please allow me to take those bags to your room for you!"

"Only if you'll accept this gratuity first," Rarity says, and gives him a gem.

The bellhop happily says, "Oh-ho-ho! I'll get your change!"

But Rarity insists, "Do keep it all. I insist!"

Soon, the group decided to tour the sites. They ride on a ferry boat and Rarity is at the bow of the boat.

Rarity:

Generosity, I'm here to show all that I can give

Generosity, I'm here to set the bar

Just sit back and watch how I live

After their ride on the ferry boat. They are at the Mare Statue. Rarity is about to go to the telescope, but somepony else wants to.

Being the generous Pony Rarity says, "After you."

"Why, thank you," The tourist says and looks through the telescope.

Rarity notices that another tourist is cold and gives him her pink scarp, "Please, take mine."

"Wow, okay," The stallion happily says.

Rarity:

Some may say, "Rarity,

Don't be so big-hearted and bold

Treating strangers like they're friends

This town's too big and cold"

Rarity looks around to see the sights and notices that many ponies are rather distant from each other.

Rarity:

But this is how I play my cards

I'm not about to fold

Rarity walks with her friends and ends up bumping into a stallion who is in a bad mood.

Rarity:

Where I see a frown, I go to town

Call me the smile patrol

Rarity then brings a flower to the man and places it on his hat, brightening his day.

Rainbow Dash:

Oh, Manehattan, what you do to us

They walk by the theater where it's playing Hiddy of the Hills.

Fluttershy:

What if you find a Gloomy Gus?

They soon see one of the Taxi wagons that has a broken wheel, and the mare is shouting at the driver.

Applejack:

It's no intimidatin' thing

Applejack then goes under the cart and uses her physical strength to lift the cart up.

Pinkie Pie:

Just be kind without a fuss

Pinkie happily goes to the driver who looks tired.

Rarity:

Generosity, I'm here to show all that I can do

Generosity, you are the key

Rarity then uses her magic to fix the wheel as good as new.

Rarity:

Manehattan, I'm here just for you

Just for you

Rarity then concludes her song and the city is shown from the sky view.

Clip End:

In the backroom, Starlight is able to use her magic to record the memories. They then take a peek to see Rarity and Falling Star talking to Twilight.

"Yes, I suppose I've had my generous moments. Although I haven't always been perfect," Rarity says.

"Really?" Falling Star asks, confused.

"Yes. I have to admit, we all have our moments, and like Rarity said, they're not always perfect," Twilight says.

Clip 3: My Little Pony S4 Ep. 8 - Rarity Takes Manehattan

During the fashion week, Rarity plans to enter the concert and has special fabric she plans to use. However, Suri, another contestant, took advantage of Rarity's generosity of letting her use the fabric and used it in her outfits, and claims it as her own.

Thanks to her friends, Rarity has already come up with a new design with the hotel room as inspiration. However, now it's a race against time to get all the designs done so Rarity can still be in the competition.

Rarity passes Twilight some fabric, "Twilight! Sew these pieces together according to that pattern there!"

"You said if we skipped dinner at the Far-Afield Tavern, you'd order a meal for us while we keep working," Twilight says.

"Don't fret. It'll be here in an hour. That's not going to be a problem, is it?" Rarity questions, and starting to sound harsh.

Then Rainbow is about to ask, "Well, we're supposed to be watching Hinny of the Hills by then…"

Then Rarity says to her friends, and sounding more harsh, "Oh! I see! I go out of my way to get you tickets for a show, and this is how you repay me? By abandoning me in my hour of need? Oh, oh, oh! Fine! Go and see Hinny of the Hills tonight! And then tomorrow morning when you come to see my fashion show without any fashion to show, you can have more entertainment! "Oh, why look, there's our friend Rarity going down in flames! Isn't friendship magic?!""

Twilight walks to Rarity and asks, "Rarity, calm down. What's gotten into you?"

"What's gotten into you?! Oh, go ahead! See your little show! Congratu-pony-lations, fillies! Sounds like you've all figured out already it's everypony for herself in this town!" Rarity says, then leaves the room and slams the door.

Twilight and the others don't seem to like the way Rarity is acting and miss the old Rarity. They then continue to work on the outfits for the show. Time has gone by and the girls are able to put the finishing touches on the last dress.

Twilight says, feeling tired, "There. That's the last of them."

Rarity runs past them gasping and uses her magic to take the dress, "Finally!"

Then runs out with all the dresses her friends made without much of a 'thank you'.

Twilight then calls out, "You're welcome!"

Clip 4: S6 Ep. 14 - The Cart Before the Ponies

Another one of Rarity's less good moments is when Sweetie Belle has asked her to help out with her cart for the Applewood Derby.

She gasps in excitement, "The Applewood Derby?!"

She happily giggles and says, "Of course I'll help!"

"Wow. Uh, Rarity, I didn't know you'd be this excited," Sweetie Belle says.

"Me? Oh, why, I'm just itching to right an old wrong from long, long ago!" Rarity happily says.

Then explains, "I designed my own cart when I was just a filly, and I was positive I was going to win the prize for most creative, hooves down! But I came in second. Second!"

Surprised, Sweetie Belle says, "You? Second in most creative? To whom?!"

That's when Rarity explains that little Derpy is the one who has won first place.

Then Rarity explains, "But I learned a valuable lesson. I learned to know my audience, and the race cart audience wants big! They want bold!"

She opens the door and calls out, "Chop chop! Everypony out!"

The upper class ponies chat as they leave the store.

"We've got work to do!" Rarity says. Then she closes the door when the ponies leave.

"This will take all of my considerable skills…" Rarity says and begins to scribble down.

Then says, "...but I will fashion the biggest and boldest Derby cart to ever win the prize for most creative!"

But Sweetie Belle says, "Actually, I was sorta thinking of something more... traditional?"

"Oh!" Rarity replies.

Then says, "Please, darling, leave tradition to the Apples. We're doing big, we're doing bold!"

She hums to herself and says, "Soon the prize for most creative will finally be in my hooves!"

"You mean my hooves," Sweetie Belle clarifies.

"Yes, that's what I said – my hooves," Rarity says.

Sometime later, Rarity is helping Sweetie Belle build her cart. The only problem is, she is doing it based on her own designs.

Sweetie Belle runs to the cart project and says, "Okay, so I sketched out some of my ideas. How about a nice yellow fringe on top?"

Rarity muffles, "Oh-ho-ho-ho, darling,"

She comes out and says, "The fringe is not exactly big! And that yellow is the least bold color I can imagine!

"Well, it doesn't have to be yellow. But I really do love the old-timey style. Like this.

But Rarity says, "Sweetie Belle, precious face, "old-timey" is just another word for passé. Remember, big and bold! I do have a reputation to uphold! It was one thing to lose as a filly, but can you imagine if I didn't win the most creative now? Ponies might stop buying my couture!"

Sweetie Belle interjects, "But we're supposed to be doing this together!"

"Yes, of course we are, darling. In fact, we just finished," Rarity says.

Then shows Sweetie Belle the swan cart that she has built, "Voila! I know. You're speechless. Well, if that isn't big and bold, I don't know what is! Isn't it wonderful?"

Sweetie Belle sadly sighs, "Right... Wonderful…"

Clip 5: My Little Pony S2 Ep. 1 The Return of Harmony Part 1

Rarity is walking through the maze that Discord has set up after his imprisonment in stone for thousands of years.

Rarity is walking down the maze as she says, frustrated, "I was expecting an audience with the Princess, not outdoor sport."

Then ends up bumping herself into something hard. Then something begins to glow that catches her attention.

She says in surprise, "Oh my…"

Rarity looks to see a stone wall that has three glowing gems that matches her cutie mark. Rarity takes a closer look at the gems, and to her surprise, she sees Discord's reflection within them. (Back when he was the villain.)

Discord laughs and says, "Welcome to your lucky day, Rarity. You've found the one thing in Equestria that could rival my face for sheer beauty. What do you think? You like?"

Then begins to emit his hypnotic spell on Rarity.

And Rarity instantly falls under his spell, "Yes... I like very much…"

But is able to shake it up, "No! No, I shan't succumb to such fabulousness."

She then struggles to walk away and ignore the temptation, "Must... get to the center... to meet... the others."

Soon, Rarity gives in and shouts, "Mine!"

Rarity then uses her own hooves to dig through the rocky wall as her body begins to turn gray

Some time later, Rarity is able to dig through it, "Well, Rarity. It took forever, but it was worth it."

She runs to the giant gem and says with excitement, "Who knew three little gemstones would turn out to be this handsome hunk of a diamond? Now to get you home."

Rarity then begins to lift the diamond onto her back and begins to carry it. Soon, the wall breaks and Twilight, without her horn, is behind it. Along with Applejack and Pinkie who have already been corrupted by Discord.

Twilight is relieved to see Rarity, "Rarity! Are we glad to see…"

But notices, "Why are you carrying a humongous boulder?"

Seeing this, when Rarity thinks it's a diamond, it's actually a giant boulder.

Rarity drops it and says, ""What do you mean, 'boulder'?"

Then hugs the giant stone, "This big beautiful bedazzling rock is a diamond! And it's all mine. Keep your envious little eyes off it! I found it and it's mine fair and square!"

She then places it back on her back and carries it again.

Clips End

Back to the boutique, Rarity continues to talk to Twilight and Falling Star about her memories.

"Maybe those weren't your best moments. But I can't think of a single pony who's never made a mistake," Rarity says.

"I know I made some mistakes myself," Falling Star says.

She then giggles, "Still, I can't believe, Discord made you fall in love with a rock."

"Well, it was a bit embarrassing at first, but I guess I ended up finding it funny later on. Although, I still prefer to never speak of it again," Rarity says.

Starlight finishes using her magic to collect Rarity's memories. Suddenly, Starlight accidentally knocks down a fabric that falls out of the room, catching Twilight's attention. Starlight quickly pulls the fabric back in before Twilight can see.

Twilight looks around and asks, "What was that?"

Falling Star and Rarity become frightened that Twilight almost spotted Starlight.
