His Atrophy

At last, I was finally set free.

Free from those shackling chains of which I called immortality.

He freed me, saved me- cleansed me from my greatest fear. (Not entirely-! Hahahaha..!)

He opened his arms to me, in that familiar warm embrace I remembered oh-so well.

As he speaks softly in my ear, "It's alright, Albedo- we will meet again soon won't we?"

Wiping away the tears from his face, staring into my eyes demanding some sort of answer similar to the likes of yes.

"Of course we will my pathetic Rubedo, we are destined to meet again! Red and White shall intertwine and meet paths once again." I say holding his face as I suddenly start to flicker and disappear from the fabric of space and time itself.

A small grin grows quickly across my lips as Rubedo starts to panick, seeing my body fade in and out signifying my defeat- my death, my long awaited demise.

"Albedo-! Don't leave me alone!" Rubedo calls out to me as my body starts to feel lighter, light suddenly surges around the whole the area as Rubedo is in complete awe.

"Ki-Kirchwassers?" He speaks in a stutter as the angels stand before me, awaiting me to say my last words.

"Albedo- Don't tell me you're-!" I immediately hush him from continuing any further, lifting his face as tears begin to roll off his face.

"Rubedo, stop crying-!" I say in a concerned but also annoyed tone, "I told you before didn't I, we will meet once again- very soon." He then grabs ahold of me and appropriately hugs against my bare chest, a sigh of contentment leaves my throat as my amethyst eyes look down with a smile.

"Don't worry, I'll be back- I can't die that easily anyway." I say with a cocky smirk, Rubedo calms down a bit before looking at me with a small smile.

"Yeah, you're too damn' stubborn to die anyway Albedo." Rubedo smiles as I let out a sigh, stroking his head.

"It's time, I have somewhere to attend to anyway." I avert my eyes looking towards the angels beside me, "Where?" Rubedo asks in suspicion, holding his hands against his hips.

"Talking to an old acquaintance, did I disappoint you Rubedo were you expecting something else?"

"No." Rubedo feigns, pretending to be not disappointed in what I said.

Suddenly light shrouds the room as I slowly turn to Rubedo with a smile, "Goodbye, Rubedo."

Rubedo calls out, holding his chest.

"Don't do anything stupid alright?!" He asks, awaiting my reassurance.

I do a small laugh in reply, "Farewell, my pathetic other half." As the room shrouds itself in complete silence, Rubedo walks off alone as everything fades to black.
