authors note: Hi! If you find this I'm already amazed, and I would love to hear from you if you have anything good to say. Before you start reading, fair warning, it's a hot mess. I have been feeling really down lately, and I found that I really liked writing, but I am really struggling to actually complete it. I sort of just, write what I'm feeling and then stop when the energy runs out. I've never posted anything to any forums or sites like this before, and I'm really excited! I had hoped that if even one person could find this and liked it, then maybe I could find motivation to keep going. If I eventually continue and complete the story, I'll probably continue it here or else link the new one here so you won't have to go looking for it. Anyways, there's not much here, I'm sorry but if you like what you see or if you have any advice, please let me know! 3

Oh! And I almost forgot, this story is heavily influenced by AlineDaryen 's Best Enemies ( s/6312808/1/Best-Enemies ) which is one of my favorites. (Its also probably influenced by just about every other Drarry fic I've ever read) I really suggest you check them out at some point. I'm sure mine is even more like theirs than I realize, I hope it's not too terrible of me :/

summary- so basically Remus has been hexed but it sort of went wrong on account of her being a werewolf, she is in physical pain except when touching Sirius, they're stuck in the infirmary together until they can figure out what's wrong and cure Remus.

"Alright guys, I know McGonagall's detentions are the worst, but I really think this one would be worth it-" James hadn't pranked anyone in days, and really it was wearing on his health (so he thought).

"NO pranks are worth McGonagall detentions. Last time, she made me clean ALL the toilets, with no wand. Even Moaning Myrtle's!" Peter was terrified of the transfiguration teacher, and with good reason. (Moaning Myrtle's!)

"Wait, I wanna hear this." Sirius had an evil glint in his eye on any good day, and now he looked downright sinister.

"It doesn't have to be worth it if you don't get caught" Remus was a teacher's pet, it was true, but only thanks to her acting skills. Though she might not look it, she was always just as invested in the boys' pranks as they were. They often grumbled about her ability to get off without detention, but her air of innocence had gotten them out of trouble more often than they realized. The four of them were on their way to potions, but it was such a nice afternoon they decided to get "lost" on the way and take the outdoor path. They would be a few minutes late, but Slughorn liked them all well enough. Being seventh years, it was unlikely that anyone would believe they couldn't find their way to potions, but some lost points would be well worth it. Remus was grateful anyway because she really needed some air. The full moon was the night before last, and she was still recovering. Her friends conveniently kept her in the middle of the group to hide her limp and new scars. She knew this wasn't an accident, but none of the boys mentioned it, so she appreciated the gesture silently.

It was such a nice day, and with Peter and James to her right, and Sirius on her left, all debating the best way to fill McGonagall's desk with catnip, Remus thought about what a fantastic day it was going to be. Just when she was about to suggest they deliver it as a gift instead, she heard a voice she hadn't realized was behind her, and all she knew after that was pain.

Pain was no stranger to Remus. Her little "dance with the moon" (as Peter had once so poetically put it) had been going on over a decade, and she had woken up in pain more times than she could count. This time was different, though. There was no source of her pain, it was everywhere. There was no wound to heal, just blinding, burning pain, writhing on her arms and searing her skin. She was vaguely aware of her need for something, she just couldn't find what it was. Her head was pounding and her chest on fire and just when she thought she would certainly die here, she felt a wave of relief.

Someone had picked her up, and she was now able to start understanding her surroundings. She could barely make out the columns to the open yard and remembered where she had been just before she blacked out. It all seemed hazy and out of order in her memory.

"-the hell?"

"-you see them?"

"-s she okay?"

She could hear her friends' panicked voices. She determined the arms around her to be Sirius.

They were moving, and quite quickly for someone carrying a person, (though she imagined her slender frame and the consistent and brutal Quidditch practices made it a bit easier). Aside from being a bit disoriented and lightheaded, she was starting to feel just fine (as fine as one can after a full moon at least), when suddenly her relief was ripped away.

It wasn't nearly as bad as the first time, but it still hurt when the burning returned. She yelped at the sudden return of her pain. She had been put down on a bed which she swore must have been on fire to lick her skin with pain like that. Just as quickly as it had gone the first time, the pain was extinguished and she took deep breaths to calm herself.

"-y would I do something like this?"

"Well I don't know, it could just be an accident. Did you try to pull anything on her?"

"It's the day after the moon of course I bloody wouldn't. Don't you trust me?"

She heard the hurt in Sirius' voice before she even registered the rest of the conversation. She tried to say something witty to shut them both up, but she ended up making little more than a gurgle. It had the same effect nonetheless

"Are you-"

"How do-

"-okay?"

"-hurt-"

They talked over each other and so fast she only caught every few words. She didn't know how to tell them to zip it, but thankfully Peter had returned with Madam Pomfrey so she didn't have to.

"OUT!"

"but-"

"-e can't-"

"-if I let go-"

"I can't understand either of you when you babble over each other, but I'm fairly certain I asked you to leave my hospital wing"

"But ma'am,"

"Please just watch"

Remus wasn't aware of the hand on her arm until it was removed. As soon as it left her, the pain started to crawl back. This must have been obvious, as the witch relented.

Remus felt instant relief as the hand returned, grabbing her forearm. She heard someone pull up a chair

The room was tiny. Madam Pomfrey had added a second bed, and house elves had already brought the students trunks into the room. The beds were against the farthest wall, and looked just like the ones they were accustomed to in Gryffindor tower, only the sheets and curtains were all white. There was a small emergency supplies cupboard on the same wall as the entrance, and a small bathroom adjacent. Madam Pomfrey had set Remus down in one of the beds, and Sirius had sat down at the foot of it facing her, his leg against hers.

Madam Pomfrey had demanded they both rest before she left the room, and they knew there would be hell to pay if she discovered they hadn't.

"Moony, you need to sleep." It really was getting late, and the girl's exhaustion was evident.

"I'm fine-" she protested, but a yawn betrayed her.

"Seriously Rem, you look like shit"

"Wow, you really do have a way with women"

"I just can't help it. My charm is irresistible" he smiled at her and she felt like everything was okay for the first time since she came to the hospital wing.

"Idiot." She kicked him in the side from where she lay. "Get out of my bed."

"Alright. ALRIGHT I'm GOING." He stood up and she began to regret telling him to leave. "Jeesh. Usually ladies beg for the opposite-OW"

She threw her shoe at him and, satisfied, turned over to sleep.

Sirius had woken up to faint groans and panicked thrashing. In the dim light he could barely see Remus tossing and turning in her sleep. He assumed she was having a nightmare (as they were frequent visitors of her sleep) and approached her to wake the girl. When he grabbed her arm, however, she immediately relaxed. When he let go, she tensed, and he realized they had been apart for too long.

Sirius looked down at her, unsure of what to do. He WANTED to crawl in bed with her and hold her close, tuck her under his chin and tangle their legs. He couldn't do that to Remus though. He wouldn't take advantage of her like that. Remus had always been different. He always knew he loved her, but then he always knew he loved James and Peter, and they weren't the same. He couldn't place it for a while. He had struggled with it for quite some time, the idea that he was IN love with Moony. In fact, his struggle with his sexuality had taken less time. Being bisexual he could accept, being in love with his best friend though? That was another story. He spent several years in denial, trying to find someone else. He flirted with, slept with, even tried dating a whole list of other people, but nobody made him feel the way she did. Naturally then, he was completely unable to win her over. With anyone else he was a natural flirt, but with her it was impossible.

"Oh Moony. Whatever shall I do?" (Even without an audience he was always dramatic)

Remus' discomfort was obvious. Eventually, he decided to lay on top of the covers next to her. It was quite difficult to do so on the twin bed, especially since he wanted to avoid touching her without her knowledge as much as possible, but after some wiggling and gingerly scooting the girl he managed to get (mostly) on the bed. He had brought a blanket from his own bed, and lay on top of the comforter. She was on her side, and he lay flat on his back next to her, staring straight at the ceiling and trying to ignore her soft lips and messy hair and smooth skin. Remus had become visibly soothed, and Sirius worried how long she had been in pain from his absence. Not long after he laid down, though, she had rolled over onto him, moaning softly. Sirius thought his head might explode from the rush he felt. She had one leg thrown across his, he was painfully aware of the inside of her thigh on his hip. He struggled to ignore her hand on his chest, but the most unbearable of all was her lips, which just barely touched his neck. He had never felt so dizzy, he wanted so badly to grab her and kiss her hard. He was here for one reason though, and that was as a caretaker. He stayed resolutely still and flat in his back even though he thought he might cry from the feeling of her gentle breathing tickling his skin. It was a long night for Sirius Black.

Remus woke up more comfortable than she ever had. It was rare that she wasn't in pain, but more than that she actually felt good. She felt warm and rested and happy. She inhaled deeply and realized she was completely enveloped in her favorite smell in the world, not that she knew what that was until just now. It was almost like earth and leather and grass, but with something else. She knew it well but she couldn't quite place it in her morning haze. It wore off quickly though when she felt her bed move under her. It took a few moments for her to register that one, it wasn't her bed moving but a person, two, she wasn't in her bed at all, and three, that fantastic familiar smell was her best friend Sirius.

This was a very disturbing chain of realizations and as she jerked away she disturbed the peace of her sleeping bed-mate.

sitting up in bed, remus at head, sirius middle ish, facing each other

"I'm so bored. I even did all of my homework already." Remus sighed.

"I'm quite enjoying the peace and quiet," Sirius replied.

Remus had to raise an eyebrow at that. "Sirius Black" and "peace and quiet" were not words you would ever hear together in a sentence.

Sirius, ever the dramatic one, played offended "what? it's true!"

Remus' glare persisted on the boy.

His façade finally caved, he smirked. "I've been taking advantage of it to plan more elaborate pranks. you'd be amazed at what you can come up with with so much time"

"Yeah, and you'd be amazed at how many of your classes you could pass if you had spent that time writing your essays," Remus laughed. It was her job to reprimand the boys about their distaste for schoolwork. she took her duties very seriously and made sure to playfully remind them at

every opportunity, along with the occasional scolding.

Sirius groaned at the reminder of his potions essay. He fell to the bed as if struck a deadly blow, and draped his arm across his face.

"HOW can I be expected to WORK in these conditions?" he begged. "I cannot POSSIBLY write while my best friends' life hangs in the balance!" he cried.

Remus threw her pillow at him for being such an idiot, but she laughed until it hurt all the same.

Sirius loved making Remus laugh. She was always beautiful, but the way her face lit up when she smiled was unmatched. she was so often guarded,

and as she got older she only became more self conscious. He could see it in her face and he wished he could make her see herself the way he did.

Once their laughter had dulled to a giggle, they heard the main door to the infirmary creak open, with footsteps soon following.

"Sshhh shhh wait,'' Sirius whispered as he scooted closer to her. sitting himself practically on top of his tiny roommate, he cast asculto, a spell of his own design (his charms final project for last year, and the only reason he had earned an E without ever doing homework) which amplified the voices approaching the hall only to them.

"Should we have brought something? Do you think they've had anything to eat? I wonder if Madam Pomfrey has given them any pudding. I would hate to be stuck without pudding an-"

"Peter. I'm sure Madam Pomfrey has given them plenty of food, and they will be fine without pudding"

"but JAMES! T-"

Peter's lament for their lack of pudding was cut off as Sirius ended the spell, a twisted grin forming as an idea came to being.

"We should pretend we're doing it"

"What!?"

"Y'know, shagging. Come on, it'll be so funny"

"Sirius, what the hell goes through your mi-"

Before she could finish telling him what an idiot he was in all the most colorful language she could imagine, Sirius moaned loud enough to ring through the hall.

"Sirius STOP" Remus whispered in the most commanding tone she could muster, but the effect was lost as she could barely contain her laughter.

The footsteps had stopped in their tracks, and they could hear urgent whispers in the hall.

Again Sirius moaned and he started shaking the bed. Remus was fighting her laugh so hard that tears started to stream down her cheeks. She wacked his shoulder, but in response he only whined and moaned even louder. They heard the footsteps trepidly approach the door after Sirius had been quiet for a few moments. They were both fighting their laughter, but at least Sirius was winning. Remus' face was redder than Gryffindor tower, she had one hand covering her mouth and the other was furiously

batting Sirius. When they heard the footsteps stop outside the door, Sirius moaned one last time.

"oh, Moonyyy" It was quieter than the others, more gentle and real. Far too real for Remus' liking. The boy had his eyes closed, his hair was a mess, and his head was thrown back. He was panting from all the bed shaking and laughing, but the image had Remus sobered up fast. she wasn't

laughing anymore. she suddenly became uncomfortably aware that they were in the same bed, and she realized she had been staring only when he

stood up.

"you fucking PERVS!" Sirius shouted as he yanked open the door.

James and Peter practically fell into the room, the both of them looking quite uncomfortable. Peter looked like he might throw up.

Remus was laughing again, and ignoring the burning that was starting to come back with Sirius' absence.

Sirius realized what he had done and quickly sat down on the bed. He leaned on her shoulder and she felt instant relief.

James and Peter stood indignant at the foot of the bed, as the other two laughed hysterically. after a few minutes, they finally started to

calm down, but then Peter (red in the face) weakly squeaked "so you weren't really..." and the two started roaring with laughter again. In the end, it took nearly 20 minutes for them to calm down.
