SEASON FIVE "Welcome to New PurgatoRy

Summary:

On the night of her sisters Mayoral acceptance, Wynonna and gang are met with secrets and revelations that could thwart her changing legacy.

Disclaimer: I believe we will see a season five #bringWynonnahome, but in the mean time,I cope by writing what could be. This is just my conscience and my way of a fun way to keep my love for the show going. Hope you read it, give feedback (love that) and most of all Earp on.

Chapter 1

Shortys Bar:

"You know I wasn't much of a drinker." a strong country accent announced throughout the space as Wynonna looked over. In front of her a dirty shot of whiskey and around her Shorty's bar empty, except for an older gentleman. He had a fine mustache and on his chest bright and shiny was a star shaped medallion.

"I guess it's a good thing, I am." She said guzzling down the shot before her. "Dream whiskey always taste better." She added with a grin. "Now might I be in on the reason why you and ghostly others keep invading my dreams?" she asked. "The curse is over and I'm happy and fine, and married to my husband."

"Oh, I'm fully aware of your happiness with my snake of a best friend."

"He's not a snake."

"For God sakes, you're my great great great great great great great great grand daughter and I reckon I still have some reservations about my best friend marrying you."

"Well you're eight greats too late…and a ninth great granddaughter as well."

"Look, I don't mean to get off topic. I came here to let you know that in every gunslinger's life."

"Wait a minute" Wynonna laughed. "are you literally getting ready to give me some kind of a Buffy Slayer intro monologue."

"What's a Buffy?"

"Yeah ok..." realizing Wyatt had no clue. "continue."

"In every gunslinger's life, there comes a time when they must bury their guns and make their peace."

"I've made my peace."

"Weren't you listen woman, you're an heir, not a gunslinger."

"So, I'm not a gunslinger. Hmmm, well tell me again who ended the curse?"

"Oh, why look for a who when you know the what."

"Why does your kind always speak in riddles?" she turned her head and found Wyatt was gone. "You know this is real fuc" suddenly Wynonna awoke. Suddenly Doc entered dressed into their room, with a girl of eight years old.

"Wynonna, we're going to be late if we don't leave soon." He added as the little girl with him ran and jump in the bed beside Wynonna.

"Yea, Wynonna." The little girl added.

"Hey, it's Mom to you." Wynonna said tickling the girl.

"Aunt Waverly is going to be so mad." The little girl added.

"Aww she'll be ok." Wynonna added.

Town:

MAYORS OFFICE:

"I'm not ok." Waverly added. "It's all too much fuss." Waverly added sitting on the edge of a desk in a small office as Reggie stood in a suit with a clipboard.

"But the towns people wanted to do something to celebrate your historical win over Bunny."

"And I just want to get started in continuing the success of our inclusive community."

"Which you will, and have always done, that's why we celebrate." A voice stated. Immediately Reggie and Waverly looked over to find Nicole dressed in a Sheriffs formal civic wear.

"Sheriff Haught." Reggie said nodding.

"Hey Reggie, can you give me and Mayor Haught, a moment?"

"Sure." He responded leaving out of the office and shutting the door.

"Can I say, how sexy you look in your formal civic attire?" Waverly said coming over and messing with the golden buttons that went down Haughts suit.

"Of course, Mayor Haught." Nicole added, as Waverly grinned. "But permission to speak as your wife." Nicole added taking off her Stetson and placing on the desk nearby and embracing Waverly. "I'm so incredibly proud of you and all this, this celebration is warranted. I know you think it shouldn't but what we've done, all of us who stayed have built has been remarkable."

"That is because of your wonderful leadership."

"Well, my wife has equally lead and now, she's the newly elected Mayor of Purgatory and I get to present her to the townspeople as such and celebrate her." Nicole replied pulling Waverly into a kiss.

"I think you have become a master at knowing what to say and when to say it." Waverly replied with a grin. "and I love you for that." Waverly added.

"Oh really, so things like…" she said pulling her closer into her embrace. "let's get this celebration over with and tonight…" she then began to kiss Waverly passionately forcing Waverly back against her desk. As Waverly's eyes stayed closed still in the kiss, Nicole moved back studying Waverly face. She then grinned and grabbed her Stetson, she placed it on her head. As Waverly finally opened her eyes, she looked at Nicole for more but Nicole just walked towards the door. She stopped and turned back with a sly grin. "will celebrate." She suggested. Waverly grabbed a piece of paper and started to wave her flustered face.

Shortys:

"So that's all the dishes, everything is done." Rachel said as Nedley looked over some papers at the end of the bar.

"Great."

"Is everything ok, Nedley?"

"Oh, yea. Just some new orders and also working on a possible ad for a new bar maid."

"What? Did I do something wrong?"

"No. You didn't but..." Nedley lifted the paper he had towards Rachel, who looked at it with a sad face. "accepted into the police academy."

"Look, I didn't think I would and"

"You threw the acceptance letter away."

"I…you haven't told anyone, have you?"

"I've raised a daughter, and I'm fully aware that you will say what you need to when you need to, so no."

"I just need some time to decide and I know that Nicole will be so proud and happy"

"But Billy not so much?" Nedley added as Rachel lower her head. "I see it like this…there's only one problem with that scenario…Billy isn't you." Nedley added. "You are a smart, talented tough young lady who should never let anyone keep you from your dreams. You get my drift."

"I do." She replied.

"Oh and Rachel, I'll be just as proud of whatever you choose."

"Thanks."

"Hey, anyone ready for a town celebration?" Billy replied coming into Shorty's bar.

"Yes." Rachel said as her and Nedley exited.

Purgatory Square:

"Good Afternoon, Purgatorians. I would like to thank all of you for coming out today to celebrate a momentous occasion in the rebuilding and rebranding of our small town." Nicole announced at an outdoor podium to claps and calls of joy. "We thank the joint efforts of PerryCorp and GardnerLLC who have rebuilt and create living spaces, shops, and restaurants for all who committed to joining us here in the Ghost River Triangle." She said pointing over towards Perry who nodded and Mercedes who curtsied.

"Alright, Mercedes." Remy yelled as all the demons agreed with whistles.

"Now on to the task at hand, I would like to present to you all our newly elected Mayor, Waverly Earp…Haught." Nicole announced as everyone clapped and cheered. Waverly took the stand and smiled and waved. Once there she looked around, catching Wynonna and Doc's faces. She smiled even more, and waved personally to Alice Michelle who waved back.

"Thank you, Sheriff Haught. My favorite Sheriff, sorry Nedley." She added as Nedley smiled and conceded."To my little family, Doc, Jeremy, Rachel, Billy, Alice Michelle and my sister, Wynonna, I love you all, know that this couldn't be possible without you."

"We know." Wynonna added as everyone laughed, Waverly laughed and wipe her eyes.

"Today…well, it begins another chapter in a long history of resilience. At times, we were faced with the question of will we continue, we were faced with people trying to cancel us, doubt our need to keep going and yet, we fought. We stood our ground, a ground based on inclusion, community, love" she looked back at Nicole who smiled. "and kindness. I promise today, I will strive to be a Mayor you can count on, to continue that fight. A mayor who will ultimately sow back into the town and area that made her who she is and gave her so much. So I, Waverly Juliana Earp Haught, stand here and accept this position as your Mayor. Today, I salute all those who made it possible, my fellow Purgatorians." Suddenly cheers erupted as Nicole came over and kissed Waverly's cheek.

"That will conclude our presentation, for the children, we have a nice balloon house and games in Wyatt park. To all the adults, there is food and beverage for price at Nedley's Bar and Grill." Nicole announced.

"Hey Alice, want to come with us?" a little boy with horns asked, standing near a little girl with glowing blue eyes. Alice looked up at Doc and Wynonna who nodded yes. Alice then followed with the kids. Waverly came over and kissed Doc's cheek and gave Wynonna a hug.

"Pretty powerful speech, you made there." Doc added.

"Thank you. I meant every word."

"I believe you did." He said with a grin, giving Waverly flowers.

"Hey Holliday, come put your co-owner hat on and help with these drink and food orders?" Nedley called out.

"On it." Doc said. He then kissed Wynonna's cheek and ran over.

"So Haughty 2.0, you're a Mayor, who would've guess."

"Not me." Waverly said as Nicole came over.

"Good morning Haughty 1.0, the ginger Sheriff of Mayberry."

"Wynonna." She responded.

"You did a great job introducing your boss."

"And I'm proud she is."

"Of course, you are." Wynonna grinned. "Just work on silencing your moans, so us humble lay workers who work across the way can't hear you." Nicole rolled her eyes as Waverly shook her head.

"Look, babe, I got first patrol of Wyatt park, so I'll see you later. Enjoy Madame Mayor." Nicole left.

"So, walk and talk." Waverly asked.

"Sure." Wynonna added.

"So anymore visits?" Waverly whispered.

"Just Wyatt."

"As in Wyatt Earp?

"The exact one."

"So what did he say?"

"Something like that in every gunslingers life we must bury our guns and make our peace."

"Of course."

"Yea, well, he said I wasn't a gunslinger, that I was an heir."

"Ok, but you are the only one who makes peacemaker work, and you broke the curse."

"Oh I know, but then he said that it's not about the who when I know the what." She said mimicking his accent.

"Wow, so a visit and a weird ominous riddle?"

"Like maybe its some ghostly western unwritten law. But besides that, how are you, how is?"

"It isn't. I haven't talked to Nicole about it. I want to but then the election process started and it got away from me. I know she will be on board, I see her face when she's around kids and how she lights up. The treatments may or may not work. But when I see her and Alice together, there like two peas in a pod. It lets me know, it's time and I want her and I to have that."

"You do know that your wife will do anything for you. I mean anything. She fought a demon, she became a shield and of course, my best friend...and actually lived to tell about it."

"I know, that's why tonight after all this, I'm going to tell her I want to start the fertility process."

Wyatt Park:

Nicole continued to walk the premises of the park, as the kids enjoyed the activities. She smiled at Alice who jumped in the bounce house. Suddenly her eyes landed on a child by their selves sitting on a bench. She came over.

"Hello, I'm Sheriff Haught, are you ok?"

"My mommy is gone."

"Your mommy?"

"I was here and then she was gone."

"She was gone? Look sweetie, I'm sure we can find your Mommy but first what's your name?"

"Leland."

"Well Leland, whats your Mommy's name?"

"Her name is Molly." The child cried.

"Don't cry Leland, like I said we will find your Mom, I'm sure she's looking for you. Do you remember where you last see your Mommy, was she at the podium?"

"No, she went into the woods, right there." The child said pointing towards an opening.

"Ok, well Leland what does your Mom look like."

"She has gold hair and blue eyes."

"Well, Leland, here's what I'm going to do, I'm going to go check the woods, just let me get someone to watch you." Nicole grabbed her walkie.

"Hey Paul, I got a possible 10-47, can you come to the bench."

"Roger that." A voice announced coming up to Nicole and Leland.

"Paul this is Leland, he's looking for his Mom, she went over towards I think River Creek I'm going to go check but can you stay here with Leland."

"Yes Sheriff." He added. Nicole then headed into the wooded area nearby. As she moved down the wooded area, she came to a small spot near the creek. She found no one, suddenly peering into the creek she saw her reflection scared and frightened.

"No..NOO!" Nicole screamed.

Back at the park:

Leland stood and looked at Paul, suddenly Paul's eyes gleamed red and then normal, as Nicole arrived back.

"Oh Hi, Sheriff, I'm here to take over my shift." Paul announced.

"Thank you." She said nicely. Nicole then looked down at Leland and smiled, suddenly his glowing red eyes returned to normal.

"Leland?" A woman called out, Leland looked at Nicole confused and ran over towards his family, as Alice Michelle came over with her friends.

"Aunt Nicole, I want to go to Mom and Dad."

"Sure. Let's go." Nicole smiled maniacally.
