How this went from a simple one-shot to a full story is something I question myself. The fact I managed to drag Micro into this is something even more question worthy. But here we are! And this time, I'm dedicated to actually trying to update this story, so with his help I've figured I'd start cycling things. One chapter here, a chapter in Shooting Star, and so on, with the seasonal update to Seasons. That said, hope you enjoy the story!
"As long as there's hope for the future, there will be smiles. As long as there are smiles we can save [the patient's] happiness! That's what I believe... People living their Iives... Is the power everyone possesses to change fate!" - Emu Hojo
"C-can I become a cool hero like that? E-Even without a quirk?" A four year old asks, his finger shaking and trembling as he points at a computer screen, the image of a large bulky man carrying people out from a blazing inferno on display.
The green haired woman that is his mother, begins to cry, her mouth opening up to say something, before a hand on her shoulder cuts her off. Another woman steps forward, her hair a bright pink, a yellow dress with pastel pink and green decorations adorning it dressed over her, her pink eyes looking at Izuku with pride, as she kneels down and places her hands on the boy's shoulders.
"Honestly and wholeheartedly yes. Izuku, even sitting here talking to us, instead of shutting down from everyone, is just proof of how strong you are. You've never needed a quirk to be a hero, or even just to help people. Just the amazing heart you have is enough." The pink haired woman says, a smile on her face.
"You were dealt a bad starting point, but you'll be just fine." A young looking man with black hair, dressed in black clothing that ends in colorful pixels, his arms adorned in a pink sweater, steps forward, speaking with an calm tone, though some unflappable excitement is hidden underneath. "Your game's not over yet. Just keep at it."
The mother steps up, the tears in her eyes beginning to slow. She looks at her family, the woman with pink hair shuffling aside to let Inko kneel in front of her son. "Izuku… You can be a hero. I will do everything I can to help you become one, and I know Asuna and Parad will do the same." She looks at the man and woman, both of them nodding. She looks back at Izuku, cupping his cheek with a hand. "This awful fate life has given you is not set in stone… You can change it, with your own hands." The mother hugs her son, holding him close, as his small arms wrap around her, both Asuna and Parad joining in the hug as well.
The year is 2261, and the Earth is far removed from how it was in the past. Around the turn of the second decade in the new millennium, humans began to develop superhuman abilities, starting with a baby who glowed being born in China. These superpowers became known as Quirks, and spread out far and wide among the population, and before long, 80% of the population possessed these Quirks. Now with the world looking more and more like a scene out of a comic book, to meet with the obvious rise in crime and disasters came a new profession… The role of Hero!
However, many elements from the era Pre-Quirks remain, such as the once widespread scourge of the Game Virus, otherwise known as… The Bugsters. Computer viruses and Biological viruses combined to create a threat to life across the globe. To the total population of the planet, this virus remains a serious threat, even if the total scope of its effects have been forgotten to time.
Yet, even in this darkness, rumors and legends remain, from time long forgotten, of figures who would rise up and combat threats such as The Bugsters, and other threats that could be described as inhuman. Figures who rise from the ashes and shadows, who despite the risk to their own lives, continue to fight for humanity…
The legendary myths… of the Kamen Riders.
A green haired youth, with equally green hair, and a dusting of freckles on his cheeks rushes down the street, a bright smile covering his face. He adjusts his bright yellow backpack as he watches a giant heroine battle an equally giant villain, a man made of wood assisting. "Mt. Lady's debut sure was something she rushed in on. I wonder if her gigantification has any limits… Can she stay at one height in specific, or is it always small or big?" He asks himself, pulling a notebook out from the back pocket of his school uniform.
An older man with fish like appendages looks at the boy, giving him a large smile. "Oh, you taking notes there kid? You must be a hero fan, huh?"
The greenette takes notice of the man, giving him a nod. "Mhm! I'm hoping to be one myself!"
The older man laughs. "Well, keep at it, and I'm sure you'll turn out just fine!" The man says, giving the teen a thumbs up. The greenette nods and bows, before putting his notebook away and dashing off.
"It's your final year of middle school, so as your teacher, I should be passing out these future career worksheets for you all to complete…" A middle aged teacher with a pretty dull appearance speaks, a stack of papers held in his hands, before he tosses them all up in the air. "But I know you all want to be heroes with those quirks of yours!" The class cheers wildly, Quirks popping off left and right. All the while, the green haired boy is playing on a small handheld gaming device, a smile on his face. "Now now, I know you're all excited but we can't be using our quirks in class so often."
"Hey teach! Don't go lumping me in with these losers!" A loud teen with explosive blonde hair shouts, his legs kicked up on the table. "As if I'd have anything as crappy as their quirks!" He boasts, the class yelling at him in disfavor. "Oh shut up, you extras should be happy to even be in my presence to begin with!"
"Ah, Bakugou, that's correct. You're aiming for UA's Hero course, aren't you?" The teacher asks, the class falling into shock. How could they not? UA was one of the hardest schools to enter for their general studies alone. To enter their hero course… You'd have to be on another level.
"You've got that right! I aced their mock exam, which means I'm just wasting time here until I get in!" Bakugou cheers wildly, standing up on his desk. "I'll even surpass All Might and become the greatest hero of all time! Not to mention how amazing I'll be!"
"You're not the only one who got top marks on that trial, Kacchan." The green haired teen speaks in a calm hush, his eyes still focusing on the game in his hands. The classes' focus shifts to him, as they begin to speak in hushed whispers, the boy pumping up a small fist at completing the level in his game. He puts the device away before looking up at Bakugou, a soft smile on his face.
"Deku…" Bakugou growls, turning around, his hand sparking with small explosions. 'Deku' leans out of the way of a swipe, his soft smile on his face all the while. "Forget these extra's crappy quirks, you don't have one to begin with! And you think you can bump shoulders with me?!" He continues to yell, the other boy keeping up his smile.
"No way, I don't even want to think of the germs that have spread onto you." 'Deku' responds, waving his hands alongside the joke, actually getting a couple chuckles from the other students. "Besides, it's less a think, and more of a know. And could you quit with that ridiculous name already? My name's Izuku, don't forget that."
"Now, now, settle down. Bakugou, we all remember that discussion from the school board about Quirkism, don't we?" The teacher speaks, looking at Izuku fearfully. The greenette smiles blissfully back, unaware of the teacher shuddering at the memory of the teen's family staring him down like they were wolves and he was scrap meat. "Let's all just settle down and get back to class."
Bakugou sits back in his seat, grumbling all the while. Izuku merely shrugs his shoulders, before pulling out his notebooks. Class was as hectic as ever, but… Out of the corner of his eye, Izuku sees orange pixels rippling over Bakugou's skin.
'...Game Virus…?'
The final bell of the day rang out across the school, Izuku smirking excitedly as he put his notebooks into his bag, strapping it to his shoulders, before standing up. A hand suddenly slammed down on his desk, popping off a small explosion. "Ugh, you know you're only creating more problems for the cleaners by doing this, right?" Izuku sighs, looking at Bakugou.
"This isn't over, Deku!" Bakugou says, before poking a finger into the green haired teen's chest. "The best heroes out there showed signs of greatness from youth, even as students. I'm going to be the first and only student from this shitty middle school to become a hero, the first and only to get into UA. Don't you dare get in my way."
Izuku grows a cocky smile, smacking the hand away. "Sorry but the game's not played like that, Kacchan. Just because you want something doesn't mean you'll be getting it automatically. You actually have to put in the effort. Oh, but you wouldn't know about something like that, would you…" Izuku lowers his head a bit, his same cocky smile feeling more like a glare. "Mister Born Lucky." Izuku walks off, leaving Bakugou fuming all the while.
Closing the door behind him, Izuku quickly ducks in-between some lockers, shaking off the sudden rush of confidence. 'If I'm right… Then he's really stressed out right now. Which means the symptoms should be easier to spot…' Izuku thinks to himself, as the door to his class suddenly opens, Bakugou racing out of it.
His skin shows more orange pixels across it, as part of his exploding hand turns translucent. Izuku's eyes shrink at the evidence, as he covers his mouth in shock. 'He has it… But why would Kacchan have Game Virus? He's a health nut. He wouldn't just skip any of the vaccines… Unless he wanted to prove his strength…' Izuku realizes in his head as he walks off in the other direction.
He leaves the school ground, heading in another direction. "Okay, so Kacchan has Game Virus. This is fine, I'll just call Aunt Asuna or Uncle Parad and have them take care of it… Except both of them are out on cases today, and won't be done until much later. Well, I can just tell them tonight, and they can take care of it then or tomorrow… But his symptoms could accelerate and spawn a bad Bugster… Oh man…!" Izuku scratches at his hair, freaking out a little. He drops his hands, and finds them moving to the straps of his backpack, tightening his grip on the straps. "If it's down to this… Can I do this operation myself? I'm used to stitching myself after some of his harsher beatdowns, but this is a virus separation procedure… Can I really…?" Izuku speaks to himself, as he enters a tunnel.
The rattling of metal interrupts his thoughts, as he quickly turns around, seeing a large slime creature pop out of a manhole. "A medium-sized body to hide in… How perfect!" The creature shouts, before it sends out slimy tendrils after Izuku.
"A villain?!" Izuku shouts, rolling out of the way of some of the tendrils. This is the worst timing in the world, considering what Izuku thinks he might have to do. 'Can't life give me a break for once?'
"Fear not Young Man!" A voice shouts from the manhole, before it bursts out of the ground, a giant figure popping out of the ground. Larger than life, muscles beyond compare, and signature blonde hair shaped in a V. "For I am here!" All Might, the number one hero has arrived! He rears a fist back, Izuku running to one of the tunnel's sides, and clinging to it for dear life. "Texas… SMASH!" The man shouts, punching out his fist as it tears apart the slime villain, Izuku's legs being picked up by the resulting wind pressure created from the punch. As the wind slows down, All Might approaches the teen, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Are you okay Young Man?"
"Uh, y-yeah." Izuku says, a bit shaken up from the mini tornado he was just inside of. "Thank you for the help." The teen looks over the tunnel, seeing the villain spread across the walls and floor. "Um, do you need help cleaning this up?"
All Might looks around, before looking at Izuku. "It would be much appreciated!"
All Might, providing a soda bottle from a convenience store (guess even heroes need a pick me up every once in a while) and Izuku got to work, putting various piles of goop into the bottle, the villain still unconscious thankfully. "So, I know you're working right now, Mister All Might, but I guess now's as good a time as any to ask…"
"Hm?" All Might hums, still picking up goo.
"Well it's just… I guess I should introduce myself first. My name's Izuku Midoriya, I'm a middle schooler nearby, and uh… I'm quirkless." The teen says, All Might staying quiet as he speaks (but tensing up a little). "I… I've always wanted to be a hero, even before learning that unfortunate fact. To go out and save people, help them with everything I've got. I've put in a lot of effort, training in combat with my uncle, learning medical procedures with my aunt, even learning as much as I can about the law from my mom, but… Well, even with their support, sometimes it's hard to put on the act of confidence I give to others, and sometimes even I'll doubt if I can do it…"
All Might stays quiet, putting the last of the goop into the bottle, before he feels a bit of steam coming out from his mouth. He needs to go now, but… He looks at Izuku. This child is delusional, and needs to be set straight. He seems the trustworthy type, so whatever happens… Happens.
"I guess what I want to ask is… Do you think I could ever be a hero? Like you?" Izuku asks, finally looking at the man, seeing steam pour off of him. "Uh, Mister All Might?" Finally, in a large puff of smoke, All Might seemingly disappears, leaving a thin sickly man behind in his place. "A-ALL MIGHT?! AN IMPOSTER?!"
"N-no, I am All Mig-Blergh…" The man begins to speak, before blood begins to pour from his mouth. He wipes the blood away with an arm. "Sorry you have to see this kid. Look, as things are right now, just consider this an aspect of All Might best kept secret. You know how guys who want to show off at the pool will suck in their gut to look all buff? It's sort of like that." All Might places the bottle containing the villain in his pocket, before leaning against the wall of the tunnel, letting out a sigh. "As for the mask of confidence, I can sort of see what you mean. I mean, my smile can be pretty fake sometimes." He lifts up his shirt, revealing a large wound on the side. Five years ago, an enemy did this to me. My respiratory system was damaged, and my stomach was removed. I'm wasting away thanks to the after effects of the surgeries, and can only do my hero work for about three hours a day now."
"Five years ago…" Izuku thinks to himself, before looking back at the man claiming to be All Might. "The missing week." The man looks at Izuku in surprise. "It's not a very well known thing, but about a month after the Toxic Chainsaw fight, All Might suddenly disappeared for about a week. After that, his appearances started to lower. No wonder that's the case, considering…" He says, looking at the man's wound.
"You really know your stuff kid. But that's right, the fight that caused this was never made public, because I asked for it to be that way. After all, a symbol of peace must never be daunted by evil. Pretty much the only reason I smile these days is to stave off the overwhelming pressure and fear I feel as a result of this job. A pro should always be ready to risk his life for others. So, to answer your question…"
Pressure… Fear… "OH SHIT!" Izuku suddenly exclaims, shocking the blonde man. "I totally forgot! I-I'm sorry Mister All Might, I'm sure whatever you were about to say was inspirational and all, I mean you're All Might after all, but I just remembered that someone I know could be in some serious trouble! I-I have to go! Just look me up if you ever want to finish saying what you wanted to say! Sorry!" Izuku yells as he runs off, heading in some unknown direction.
"Wait, kid!" All Might stands up, wanting to go after the boy, until he notices a weight on his leg, or rather the lack thereof. The blonde pats in his pocket, before his hand reaches through it, a hole ripped in his pocket. He looks around, before noticing the still open manhole. 'Oh shit.'
"Hey, Bakugou, man, are you okay? You've been coughing a bunch, and your skin is a weird color…" A shaggy haired teen with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth asks, the blonde exploding his hand in response.
"I'm fine. It's probably just a stupid cold. I'll be back to top condition tomorrow." Bakugou responds, kicking a can down the street. "And what did I say about smoking around me?! If you get caught it goes on my record too!"
"I'm just saying man! My uncle works in the medical industry, and the only times I've heard about people's skin turning orange is when they catch… Y'know…" Bakugou stares at the teen. The teen's eyes dart left and right, before he leans forward to whisper. "Game Virus. You got your vaccine, right?"
"Hell no! I skipped that shit this year!" Bakugou boasts, the teen looking at him in shock. "Some musty dusty old as shit myth isn't going to do shit to me! I'm way too strong to give in to some shit like that!"
"I like your attitude, bodysuit…" A new voice speaks, Bakugou turning to face a slimy visage, as it wraps its tendrils around his limbs, the creature now sporting the same orange pixel colors. "I feel the same way about it in fact!"
Izuku runs through the streets, heading towards the sounds of explosions in the distance. He comes to a halt when he sees a crowd of people around the entrance to a street. He rushes over, pushing people aside, before he reaches the front, the sight in front of him being one he'll etch into his mind forever.
Bakugou and the Slime creature, both struggling for their lives, as they phase in and out of the orange pixels, as they amass more and more into a hideous orange growth monster, taking form with mismatched limbs. "Kacchan!" Izuku yells, watching as the other teen continues to struggle.
"Stay back!" A hero with large fists shouts, holding a hand over Izuku's chest. The hero made of wood from that morning steps back, the flames threatening to overtake him, the giant woman can barely fit on the street, a man with water pouring out of him is doing his best to contain the flames. None of them can do anything, especially not with a potential bugster about to form.
Izuku swings his backpack around, opening it up and pulling out an old rusted case, the letters GD engraved on its lid. He stares at the case, before looking at the scene again. Bakugou struggles against the slime villain and the swelling virus, looking out at the crowd one last time, before the virus overtakes both entities, letting out a loud screeching sound. Izuku clenches his teeth and swings his backpack back around his arms, opening the case and tearing out its contents, before throwing it into the bag's open face. He backs a bit away from the hero's hand holding him back, before ducking underneath it and running forward.
At that exact moment, a blonde twig of a man arrives at the scene, staring at the boy in awe, as he runs forward. Crossing the street parallel to him is a brunette woman in a doctor's coat, staring at the devices in his hands.
"Hey, get back here! You're going to get yourself killed!" The hero with large fists shouts, as Izuku screeches to a halt mere feet from the Bugster Monster. What did the textbooks in Aunt Asuna's office call this thing? A Union? Izuku looks at the devices in his hands with concentration.
In his left hand rests a bright neon lime green buckle, a pink handle on its side, with a large panel covering something else underneath it. In his right hand rests a pink cartridge based device with a black button, a small piece of artwork directly on the side, the words 'MIGHTY ACTION X' displayed in an artistic font. Izuku grips both devices tightly, before staring at the Bugster Union. "Kacchan, if you can hear me… I'm sorry for causing this. I wanted to know if you really had the Game Virus after seeing flashes of it in class, and I provoked you. But I'll make it up to you. You might be the biggest asshole I've ever met, but you're still someone with a life worth living." Izuku slaps the buckle to his waist, as a black belt wraps it around him, a circle of rainbowed pixels cascades around the buckle for a moment, before Izuku raises the pink object. "And I will save that life. Kacchan, I'll change your fate… With my hands!" Izuku presses down on the button of the device, as a large holographic screen pops into existence behind him, displaying the artwork on the device in a format similar to that of a video game's title screen.
"MIGHTY ACTION X!" The device announces as Izuku spins it in his hand, the clear cartridge part now facing downwards, as a cocky smile crosses his face.
"Henshin!" He shouts, before placing the device in the buckle, a circle of pixels surrounding him as faces that had been greyed out appear, filling in with color. Izuku punches out in front of him, hitting the one in pink as it spins forwards, before flying back towards him.
"GASHAT! LET'S GAME! METCHA GAME! MUTCHA GAME! WHAT'S YOUR NAME?! I'M A KAMEN RIDER." The belt announces as the face card covers over Izuku, pixels forming into armor, before solidifying around him.
Blocky white armor forms over his body, with black tubing forming between the plates, a chestplate with red, blue, yellow, and green buttons forming on the right side of his chest, a health bar and icons of a sword and hammer on the left. A giant helmet forms featuring the face on the card, pink metal hair overtop a pair of goggles that hold orange eyes.
The crowd looks in silence at the transformed boy, some of them trying to hold either cries of laughter or fear. The disguised All Might nearly face palms, but is stopped when he sees the brunette doctor next to him staring at the scene with a look of nostalgia, a proud smile forming on her face. The blonde man stares at the scene, and focuses.
Suddenly, the now transformed Izuku takes off running at a high speed, unexpected from his bulky chibi-like appearance. The Bugster Union swings at him with an arm, Izuku curling up into a rolling state and bouncing away, before kicking out his legs and jumping above another arm swing, this time landing on the creature's arm, and then jumping onto its head, where the creature slams itself. "Your patterns are way too easy to read." Izuku comments, jumping from another arm swing. "But I guess I should do some damage myself too." He holds out his arms, another pixel circle forming as a weapon forms from a new card, a small hammer in white, with pink spikes coming from the top, a green head at the front, and a pair of A and B buttons in pink and green respectively.
"GASHACON BREAKER!" The weapon announces as Izuku kicks himself off of a wall, swinging the hammer against the monster with a chuckle, before landing on another wall, bouncing off again and striking one more time. The teen becomes a white and pink blur, landing hit after hit as he bounces here and there everywhere. Finally, he jumps up as high as he can, throwing himself forward into a spin, before slamming down on the creature with a final hammer swing.
The bugster union collapses to the ground, spitting out both Bakugou and the slime villain, as the attacker becomes fully solid and seeable again, the explosive blonde continuing to glitch.
'Right… The textbooks said that Unions are only a prelude to what's to come. The real fight starts now.' Izuku thinks to himself as he increases his grip on the hammer.
Orange pixels swirl together, forming a humanoid figure as it begins to turn an indigo color, a black top hat covering its circular ufo-like head, a black cloak flowing from its neck. "My my, it seems that time has done no favors to me. But even still it seems that Level Ones are trying to chomp at me with no real taste of their own." The creature speaks, Izuku readying himself.
'Salty… The final boss of Mighty Action X… Who would have thought Kacchan would get the perfect matchup for me?' Izuku thinks to himself before he drops the Breaker to the ground. "Just you watch, Salty. This guy has more tricks up his sleeves than you'd think." His hand finds its way to the panel on the side of the panel, gripping at it tightly. Izuku looks at Bakugou one more time, before looking at Salty. "I will save Kacchan, I swear it… Dai Henshin!" Izuku shouts as he opens up the panel on the belt, revealing a screen underneath, the words "GAMER DRIVER" inscribed on the panel face now revealed. The screen shows a pink figure, throwing out a new card as Izuku runs through it.
"GACCHAN! LEVEL UP! MIGHTY JUMP! MIGHTY KICK! MIGHTY MIGHTY ACTION X!" Izuku jumps up high, blocks spawning across the street as he does so. He breaks through one with a fist, before breaking one with a kick, the white armor breaking off of him, leaving the face the only thing behind before he starfishes out from it, new armor formed over him. His torso and part of his upper thigh turns pink, black lines interspersed among them, as parts of his arms and most of his legs become covered in black, the ends being colored a bright green. Pink boots and gloves cover his appendages, as his helmet remains similar in appearance, if smaller, same for his chest piece. A grey metal vest joins with it, the collar of which is also a bright green, as it connects to pink shoulder pads.
Izuku lands on the ground in a kneel, before standing up resting one fist at his side, the other stretched up to the sky. He lowers his arms, before resting the Gashacon Breaker's handle on the top of his foot, quickly kicking it up into his hand. "With no continues… I'll clear this level!" he shouts, before running towards the Salty Bugster, striking against a suddenly appearing staff with his hammer.
All Might looks in astonishment as the boy continues to hold his own against an opponent far beyond him, turning his head to see the brunette woman holding a similar expression, though with far more of a smile. He turns his attention back to Izuku, watching the boy with interest. He was this close to telling the boy to give up… Clearly, there was much to relearn when it came to being a hero.
Izuku struck against the staff again, forcing Salty back, before the bugster swiped at the weapon with his staff, knocking it out of Izuku's hand. The teen responded in kind by grabbing the pole of the weapon and yanking on it, tearing it away from his opponent before breaking it in half over his knee. "Really now? That was so easy!" Izuku berates his opponent, who in turn charges at Izuku wildly, the pink armored teen stepping out of the way as Salty crashes into a wall. "That said, I think it's time to finish this." Izuku turns to face the dizzied virus, taking the 'Gashat' out from his buckle, placing the end towards the mouthplate of his helmet as he mocks blowing on it. On the side of his buckle rests a small holder, along with two slots for more of the cartridges that he plugs the device into.
"GASHAT!" The device yells, as Izuku presses down on a small silver button next to the slot. "KIMEWAZA!" A charging sound fills the air as pink and green energy circle around Izuku's boots, the boy readying himself to attack as he presses on the button again. "MIGHTY CRITICAL STRIKE!" The device announces as Izuku leaps up into the air, bounding forwards towards the bugster. He strikes Salty with his right foot, then his left, alternating between the two for a second, then he performs a revolving roundhouse, striking three times, before doing a midair somersault kick, and then finishing off with a final flying side kick, piercing directly through the bugster, as the orange pixels begin to swell, before exploding. "KAISHIN NO IPPATSU!"
Izuku lands back on the ground, clapping his hands together, and spinning around, raising a fist to the sky. "All right! Level… Clear!" Izuku cheers, as the crowd begins to yell as well.
All Might smiles as Izuku runs over to the unconscious blonde, checking on the boy. The brunette doctor coughs into her fist as she looks upon the scene with pride. "Well, he'll have a story to tell when he goes home, that's for sure." She says, before walking off, leaving All Might to wonder who she was.
Attention turns back to Izuku as he takes the gashat out and closes the panel on the belt, the armor turning back into pixels as he does so. "GASHUN!" The gashat announces, before Izuku stretches out his arms. He turns his head to look at the crowd of heroes looking at him, before he realizes what is about to happen.
"Ah shit." He says to himself, dropping his head in tiredness.
The sun is setting by the time the heroes are done berating Izuku, the boy walking home with the Gamer Driver still on his waist. "Least they could do was take me home in a police car. Least then I wouldn't be walking home so late…" He says to himself as he continues to walk, looking up at the sky. "At least Kacchan is safe. Hope he gets out of the hospital soon…"
"Suddenly from nowhere, I am here!" All Might announces in his buff state, sliding in from the side street, shocking Izuku a bit. "Yes, for I am here to tell you my true ans-ugh…" He poofs back into his skinny mode, blood pouring from his mouth. Izuku reaches for his backpack, pulling out a box of tissues, which the man gladly takes. "Ugh, sorry about this kid. Used up some time I saved up trying to catch you. I wanted to answer your question."
"Oh, I thought you would have forgotten about me by now honestly." Izuku says nonchalantly, catching the man off guard a bit.
"A kid runs off on the number one hero as he's answering a question, just to go and save a life. Kid, how could I ever even try to forget you?" All Might says with a smirk, Izuku looking at him in shock. "Honestly, I've been trying to find the words to say to you since you left. When you left, I was about to say something that could have done something awful, but instead your actions spoke the answer for me into existence. When I found you running into that alley, I remembered the exact words I said to you, about how a pro must always be willing to risk their life to save others. But you showed me what I had forgotten after my injury: That simple acts of kindness can go the longest way. You didn't need to check on that other kid after you won, but you did. Young man, to answer the question of whether or not someone without a quirk can be a hero, as long as you put in the training and effort… You can. Young man, you too can become a hero."
Izuku stares at All Might, the man looking at him with a prideful smile. The greenette smiles, as he starts to wobble a bit, tears beginning to pour from his eyes. All Might walks over and places a hand on his shoulder, the boy smiling as he sobs.
"I know it's not much, but I want to be with you as you continue to train. Will you allow me to help you?" All Might asks, Izuku nodding through his cries. "Thank you young man." 'Thank you for letting me take this opportunity to learn from you about how to be a hero again.'
When Izuku finally got home, he was all cried out, exhausted from the fight, and so hungry he could eat a motorcycle. He walked into the living room of the house that he, his mom, his aunt, and uncle shared together, letting out a yawn.
"Ahem." A voice says, Izuku turning to look at the source. There in the reclining seat, sat a brunette woman in a doctor's coat, a smug if angry smile on her face. "So, when were you going to tell the rest of the family what you were doing… Ex-Aid?" She says, crossing her arms. Izuku stares at her, before saying a word he's been saying quite often today.
"Shit."
