O-O-O

"Slytherin" bellowed the Sorting Hat and the Great Hall fell silent as if a Silencio was cast over, all eyeing the Gryffindor table. McGonagall lifted the hat from Regulus's head and gave him a small encouraging smile.

Regulus stood up from the stool and the Gryffindor table erupted in cheers, led by three students that were whooping and clapping. As if waiting for the cue, students from other houses started clapping as Regulus slowly walked over to the Slytherin table and sat down beside the sandy haired student with light scars running on his face who was standing up and clapping , a wide smile on his face.

"Hey Remus," Regulus acknowledged the older student.

"Take care of my brother, Lupin," Sirius said loudly from the Gryffindor's table and Remus passed a smile to his fellow Marauders.

The four Marauders sat down, waiting for the sorting to be over and feast to start.

O-O-O

Their friendship had grown over the years. With one more addition to the Marauders, the pranks had grown increasingly impressive and complex. The five balanced each other. James and Sirius being the brash ones that carried out the brute work and Remus and Regulus took care of the research. Peter always proved really good at distracting teachers as no one expected him to be more than a victim of their pranks. Remus and Regulus always spent their time lurking in the library, checking obscure texts for their next prank, and sometimes even in the restricted section of the library under James's Invisibility cloak.

"You are gonna get us in trouble, Reg," whispered Remus as he tried to calm himself down and control his ragged breathing.

"It's okay, Madam Pince won't hear us, I cast a silencing charm over the whole area," Regulus replied and continued kissing Remus. After a while they broke apart and took in their disheveled appearances.

"What were we here for anyway?" Regulus asked with a sappy grin on his face.

"Uh, yeah," Remus tried to put back his thoughts, but the kissing had seemed to take away his ability to talk.

"Let's go!" exclaimed Regulus, and took Remus by his hand, pulling him deeper into the restricted section of the library.

"Look out for any books on advanced transfiguration theory. That should give us some hints on how to accomplish our task," Regulus instructed and started searching the shelves.

"Are you guys sure you want to do this?" Remus asked with uncertainty.

Regulus looked over at Remus with a book in his hand and a menacing look in his eyes.

"I mean, it's pretty risky." Remus hastily tried to cover up his question that seemed to have offended the other wizard.

"We all talked about this, Remus. We want to do this and we aren't gonna stop," Regulus said assuredly and started walking over towards Remus.

"Lumos." Remus's wand lit up as they both looked at the book in Regulus's hand. It was an old grey book with edges worn off and had 'Animagus Theory' written with teal coloured cursive letters.

"Let's go, shall we?" Regulus asked and started walking towards the exit of the section, but was pulled back by Remus.

"Yes, but first, revenge," Remus whispered and smashed his lips onto Regulus's, the latter wizard melting into the embrace.

O-O-O

"You know, we haven't told them yet," Remus said, looking up from his book and saw his boyfriend staring at him with unfocused eyes.

"Oi!" Remus exclaimed and snapped his fingers in front of Regulus's face, snapping the latter out of his daydream and saw blush appearing on the wizard's face.

"We haven't told anyone about us. I think James has some idea, but Sirius doesn't know yet," Remus said, a little worried about their friends' reactions. He knew they wouldn't be weird about him dating a guy, especially given their own dating histories. But it was Sirius' reaction Remus was worried about; dating someone's younger sibling was uncharted territory.

"Yeah, don't worry, I've got it," Regulus said sitting straight up on his bench with a smirk on his face.

"What do you have in mind?" Remus asked with suspicion colouring his tone.

"Nothing. We just play a small prank and tell them and hopefully Sirius won't disown you," Regulus smiled sweetly and got up from his seat, going towards the exit, leaving a spluttering Remus in his wake.

O-O-O

They both stood beside Sirius's bed. The moonlight shone faintly through the Gryffindor boy's room, and they sneaked towards Sirius' bed. Sirius, James, and Peter were asleep, the only noise was of James' loud snores.

"Cast the spell we need to leave. The Fat Lady said five minutes max," Remus whispered and tugged on Regulus's sleeve as he waved his wand over James's bed. The Fat Lady had agreed to let them enter as they had the password, but had set a time limit.

"Yes, just Peter is left," Regulus replied and moved over to Peter's bed, applying charms on the wizard.

"Okay. Let's go," giggled Regulus, taking Remus's hand and leaving the dormitory. Now they had to wait for the morning to come.

The wait till morning was killing them. Regulus was anticipating the results of his prank and Remus feared the Marauders' reaction upon hearing about his relationship with Regulus. All in all, adrenaline was high.

O-O-O

"Ah, I believe you found our gift," said Regulus, taking in James's, Sirius's and Perter's appearance in the great hall. Their skin was coloured lemon green with spiked hair, sprouting lemons.

"You did this? This is great! I thought you would never directly prank someone. You make me proud Regulus " said Sirius with surprise and fondness on his face.

"Yeah, I thought we should lighten up the mood first since Remus was anxious about you being angry with him," replied Regulus with a fond smile directed at Remus.

Regulus took Remus's hand in his own and looked at Sirius who looked at their entwined hands.

James let out a laugh and looked over at Sirius who was still looking at their hands.

"Pay up Sirius," said James, nudging Sirius, who grumbled and put a few galleons into outstretched hands of James.

"Uh well, about time," Sirius said with a smile, although still looking at his galleons in James' hand.

"You knew!" Remus exclaimed and looked at James, Sirius and Peter laughing.

"Comeon Moony, everyone knows," said Sirius gesturing at the teachers' table and saw some teachers looking delighted while some looked downtrodden.

"Well now that the cat is out of the bag, let's eat," James said, sitting on the Gryffindor's table, the rest of them following him.
