A middle aged human woman with light skin, reddish brown hair in a bun and turquoise eyes was sitting at a table and looking at a camera. She wore a gray dress jacket with a white shirt. She was a reporter for Vale newscasting.
"Hello residents of Vale. My name is Melissa Amano of Vale Newscasting and today we have an interesting but disturbing development. The five men and two women that went missing two months ago have been found wandering around the house of one of the missing persons. Images taken by first responders show all of them are missing one or more limbs.
Here are some of the images we have picked that are less disturbing for viewers".
She raised her left hand and pointed towards where images appeared on the screen, showing empty eyed men and women standing slumped over with missing limbs censored.
"As you can see, it is a very disturbing situation, the information provided to us by authorities shows none of the victims had any mental illness or trauma before this horrible incident. I wonder what exactly happened to them? A new investigation has been opened, but nothing has been unearthed so far. In other news, the terrorist organization known as The White Fang has been leading increasingly violent and brutal attacks on stores, dust transports, and homes.
Lastly, rumors of a new cult have been spreading throughout both human and faunus societies. Very little is known about it as all of the members seemingly vanish from their everyday lives and move to a secret location. Where that is is unknown.
I'm Melissa Amano and this is Vale Newscasting".
After the woman gave her goodbyes, the screen went to a weather broadcast and the screen showing the feed cut off.
"I have a bad feeling about this. An ominous breeze blows our way" Came the soft voice of Professor Ozpin as he sat at his chair behind his office desk. Putting his scroll on the desk, he picked up a manila folder. Opening it he was greeted by four documents. One was a paper about the new cult that had popped up. One of the cultists had been captured and questioned.
It was a wolf faunus that seemed to have gone mad. After answering two of the questions, he bit his tongue off and attempted to snap his own neck. He was terrified and erratic during the short questioning. Seconds before he could fully snap his neck, he was restrained and treatment was administered before he could choke on his own blood. However, after treatment was administered, his mind went blank, like he was a vegetable.
The two things they learned from him were terrifying to say the least.
The fist thing was that they in reference to the cult were very large, far beyond what the public saw, second was that they were summoning something and using their body parts and aura to let whatever they were summoning to manifest.
All in all, it was very troubling news. This was something that the new huntresses and huntsmen could not know until the time was right.
He sighed as he looked over the document multiple times. It wasn't just the disillusioned or the faunus that hated humans that joined the cult. It was normal humans and even some huntsman that outright disappeared.
If he didn't do something about this, this could effect his academy, and gods above that would be a disaster.
