A/N: Hey guys I'm really excited to share this Castlevania story with you! I was inspired to write this story after watching the Netflix series. I do not own Castlevania or any of the characters used in this story except from my OC. I hope you enjoy this new story from me.

Last of Belmont and her Vampire

After the death of Dracula's wife Lisa, Dracula had declared war on humanity. Night creatures, tools of destruction forged from hell itself, began attacking Villages and Towns killing everything in their sight and leaving Villages or Towns in ruins. But luckily for one Village in particular, the Village of Gresit, they had someone protecting them from Night creature attacks.

Inside a Tavern nearby, filled with patrons, a woman sat at a bar drinking. She wore a white tunic which had her house crest over her chest and she wore some leather bracers over some archery gloves. She also wore some leather pants on her lower half and a pair of leather boots. Finally she completed her look with a blue cloak with the hood raised covering her face and hair. and she was clearly drunk as she looked at the barkeep and slurred, "Another drink please barkeep, thanks."

One of the drunken male patrons held his tankard as he slurred, "It's fucking bollocks if you ask me. We may not have been attacked by any Night creatures like other Villages have yet, but it's only a matter of time before we're next!" before he then looked at the woman sitting at the bar as he drunkenly added, "Oi, stranger! What's your name?" and the woman turned her head slightly as she looked towards the man as she replied,

"It's better if you don't know my name. Trust me you'll thank me for it later."

The drunken man then kicked the woman's stool, knocking her across the floor before he smirked slightly at her and slurred, "You wanna try that again stranger, What's your name?" and the woman slowly dragged herself up to her feet, the hood of her cloak had fallen behind her revealing her long dark brown hair with some blue streaks in it. She coughed a little as she drunkenly replied,

"River Belmont. of House Belmont. I'm the reason all of you are still breathing and haven't been torn apart by Night creatures!"

The Tavern then fell silent for a moment before the drunken man who had knocked her off her stool smiled at River as he said to her, "And? You want us to thank ya or something? All you've done for us is delay the inevitable!" and River scowled at the drunken man as she growled,

"I have been risking my life to save all of your sorry asses, because none of you can be fucking bothered to defend yourselves! I am armed with a short sword, and I don't think you really want to start a fight with me."

Before the drunken man then walked over to River as he smirked and said, "Oh, I think I do. with all that drinking you've done tonight I highly doubt you can defend yourself properly. and that makes you an easy target!" and before River could even have a chance to reply, the man slammed his fist against her nose knocking her across the Tavern.

River then slowly dragged herself to her feet once more and wiped the bit of blood dripping from her nose before she scowled at the man as she said with an angry tone in her voice, "Ok dipshit, let me remind you exactly who you are dealing with. I am River fucking Belmont! I am a professional monster slayer, and I have never lost a fight! Whether it be against man, woman or fucking beast!" and the drunken man just looked at River and laughed before he said,

"Well, there's a first time for everything love!"

Before then man then threw another fist at River, this time connecting with her jaw knocking her back a little, before River then threw a fist of her own at the drunken man's jaw knocking him back a little before she then followed up with another fist to his ribs causing the man to gasp a little for air, then River grabbed the back of the man's neck and slammed his face into the counter of the bar causing blood to drip from his nose as he collapsed to the ground.

Another person in the Tavern picked a stool and smashed over the back of River causing her to drop to a knee, before River then scowled at the person who smashed the stool over her before she then swept the legs of that person causing them to collapse onto their back. When River stood on her feet again, another person ran up behind her and thrust their foot between her legs kicking her in her womanhood causing River's face to scrunch up slightly as she hunched forward a little.

River then drove her knee into that person's ribs causing them to hunch over slightly as they gasped for air, before she then elbowed them in the back of the neck knocking them to the ground. A slightly taller person stood behind River and grabbed her before another person shouted, "Kick her! Kick her!" As the man from before ran towards River and swung his foot forward kicking her in her womanhood causing her to hunch over slightly as her face scrunched again as she said,

"Could you please stop kicking me in my womanhood! I'm definitely not into this!"

Before River then elbowed the person behind her in the nose, she then threw a roundhouse kick at the man in front of her knocking to the ground unconscious, before she then turned her attention to the taller person who was holding their nose and picked up a nearby stool before she swung it and smashed over the taller person causing them to go crashing through a table and breaking it in half.

After the fight, River put her cloak back over herself and took her pouch into her hand as she opened it and pulled out a couple of gold coins and tossed them at the barkeep as she said, "Here! One coin was for the drinks, the other coin is for the damage I caused." before she then stumbled out of the Tavern door and onto the Village street, and River took a deep breath as she said to herself, "That's enough fun for me in one night, now to find somewhere to stay."

River then walked down the street in a mostly straight line keeping an eye out for any kind of Inn she could stay in for the night, when she noticed some Villagers yelling at what looked to be a group of people so she went over to investigate. As she barged through the crowd of Villagers she said, "Excuse me coming through, what seems to be going on here?" one of the Villagers looked at River as they replied,

"These people have been dealing in Black magic! The Church said so!"

River then face palmed as she said, "Of course, it's more of the Church's bullshit! Why wouldn't the Church have something to do with this?" before River then looked at the group of Villagers as she said to them, "If you all are that desperate to hate on someone, then you can hate me instead! I know you all do! You just won't say it to my face. My family has been outcast and hunted by the Church, all because they needed someone to blame for what we are in right now! You will leave these people alone and let them get on with whatever it is they were doing, which is probably far from dealing in black magic like the Church would have you all believe."

The Villagers then grumbled among themselves before scattering, the group of people behind River then smiled as one of them said, "Thank you stranger, how ever can we repay you for your kindness." and River looked back at the group behind her as she smiled slightly as she replied,

"No need to thank me just yet, these people are bound to target you again, who's in charge of your group?"

One of the people of the group looked at River before they let out a sigh as they said to her, "Follow us stranger, we will take you to see the elder." and River nodded her head at the group as she replied,

"Alright, take me to this elder of yours." before she then began following the group as they walked through the streets of the Village.

Later…

The sun was beginning to rise slowly as they arrived outside a small hut sitting just outside of the Village, one of the people River had followed then lead her inside as she saw a rather old looking man sitting in a chair before the man looked at River as he smiled slightly and said, "Welcome stranger, tell me what is your name?" and River looked back at the man in the chair as she replied,

"My name isn't important, what is important is that you need to take your people and leave this Village. I don't care where you go just as long as you go somewhere safe." before River then let out a sigh as she added, "The Church think that your people are dealing in black magic and have issued your execution."

The elder then looked at River as he said, "We are Speakers, we help people who are in need even if it would cost us our lives. and...we can't leave, one of our people is missing. though I'm pretty sure they are likely dead by now." and River looked at the elder of the Speakers and let out a sigh as she said,

"Where did this person of your group go? I...may be able to find them if it isn't too late."

And the elder then looked at River before letting out a sigh of their own as they said, "My granddaughter went to the Catacombs to try and find the sleeping soldier, but since she hasn't returned...I fear the worst may have happened." and River looked at the elder as she replied,

"If...I go and retrieve your granddaughter, will you and your people consider leaving?"

The elder then nodded his head as he said, "Yes River, if you bring my granddaughter back, I will consider leaving for another Village." and River perked a brow as she looked at the elder in confusion as she said,

"How...did you know my name? I hadn't even told you."

And the elder then let out a small chuckle as he replied, "We speakers know many things River, as such we know you are a Belmont simply from the crest on your shirt, we will wait here for you to return with my granddaughter." and River then just nodded her head before she then left the hut as she made her way towards the Catacombs.

The Catacombs…

River made her way down into the Catacombs after clearing out a few Night creatures that came at her, before she then walked down some steps leading into a large room that had a statue of a woman wearing similar clothes to the Speakers. She walked up to the statue and tapped her short sword against it as she said to herself, "Something must have turned you into stone, but what could do something like this would be the bigger question here."

Before River then heard some footsteps of a large creature shuffling behind her, as River turned to face the creature she immediately dived out of the way as the creature fired a beam from its eye and River had a shocked look on her face as she said, "A Cyclops? I thought my family had wiped all of them out, but I guess that answers my question if there is a Cyclops living under the Village." and River continued to dodge and leap out of the way as the Cyclops continued to shoot beams from its eye in hopes of turning River to stone as its latest victim.

While River was busy trying to avoid being caught by the Cyclops beams as it destroyed any cover River tried hiding behind, she looked at the statue briefly as she said to herself, "Maybe I can trick this Cyclops somehow into hitting that statue. Because if it turned that person into a statue with its beam then...hitting the statue with the beam should have an opposite effect." So River ran towards the statue in the middle of the room, making sure she had the Cyclops attention before she climbed on top of the statue as she shouted at the Cyclops, "HEY! I'm right here you big idiot!"

The Cyclops then did exactly what River hoped it would do as it fired a beam from its eye towards River, as River leaped off the statue just as the beam connected with it turning the statue back into what it was before as a woman laid unconscious on the ground, before River then took a throwing knife she had hidden in her bracer and threw it into the Cyclops eye blinding it as the creature cried out in pain.

After the Cyclops had collapsed to the ground after giving out its dying breath, River then walked over to the woman on the floor as she said, "Are you ok? what's a Speaker like you doing in the Catacombs under Gresit?" the woman then looked up at River and blinked a couple of times before she smiled slightly and replied,

"I...I think so, what happened? And did you climb on me?"

River then blushed a little at the woman as she said, "I uh I may of had to stand on you for a second to get the Cyclops to reverse what it did to you." The woman then stood on her feet and dusted herself off as she looked at River as she said,

"Well, I suppose I should thank you stranger, now I can continue my search for the sleeping soldier."

River then let out a sigh as she looked at the woman and said, "No you're not, we are going back to your grandfather. He sent me to look for you because he presumed you were dead. Now he can see that you are in fact very much alive." before she then added, "And it's...River by the way. River Belmont. though I don't usually like to say who I am to strangers." and the woman smiled at River as she said with a slight accent in her voice,

"Well, if we are introducing each other, I'm Sypha. Sypha Belnadis. and I am going further in and you can tell my grandfather that I am ok."

River then grabbed Sypha's arm causing her to look at her as she said, "We are leaving, you have already experienced first hand just how dangerous it is down here. This place is probably filled with booby traps and Night creatures. What would your grandfather say if I let his granddaughter get herself killed because she was searching for something that only exists in fairytales? No arguments. We are leaving."

Sypha then crossed her arms and let out a huff as she replied, "Fine, we'll leave. But I'm telling you the sleeping soldier does exist. That's why I came down here so that I could find him for my grandfather." before she then held her nose a little as she added, "Why does your breath smell of beer?" and River wiped some blood from her face as she said,

"Good. The sooner I get you back to your people the sooner you can leave." before she then added, "My breath smells like beer because I have been drinking. and when you and your people go on your way I will go back to drinking and eating and drinking some more."

Sypha then let out a frustrated huff as she said, "You are probably the most rudest person I have ever met! You know that." before they both then began walking up the stairs and making their way out of the Catacombs.

That evening…

When River returned to the elder's hut with his granddaughter Sypha, she opened the door and walked in as Sypha ran over to her grandfather and wrapped her arms around him in a hug as she said, "I'm sorry I made you worry about me grandfather."and the elder returned the hug to his granddaughter as he looked at River and said,

"Thank you for rescuing my granddaughter River, we don't have much coin we can give you but it's the least of what we can do to repay you."

River then smiled at the elder as she said, "Keep your coin. Saving your granddaughter from a Cyclops is payment enough." and River went to say something else but the view of burning torches and pitchforks in the distance getting closer drew her attention, before she looked back at the elder and the other Speakers as she said, "This was the reason why you all should have left when I told you to leave. Because there is an angry mob coming to storm this place. I can hide you in the Catacombs until it is safe."

After River had lead the Speakers down into the Catacombs and left them in a safe area, She then went back to the surface to face the angry mob as one of the Villagers said to her, "Where are those Black magic dealers? They have to die for their sins! The Church deemed it so!" and River scowled at the Villagers as she replied,

"The Church is also full of shit! They ostracised my family for something we didn't fucking cause in the first place! Are you all really gonna listen to everything the Church tells you and kill innocent people? Just because the Church told you to?"

Another of the Villagers scowled at River as they said, "She's working with those Black magic dealers! She should die as well!" before River then quickly found herself surrounded by the Villagers. But as the Villagers were closing in on River, she saw a familiar sight as Sypha landed in the middle of the mob next to River before River smiled slightly at Sypha as she said,

"Shouldn't you be with your people and keeping them safe?"

Sypha then looked back at River as she smiled and replied, "And what? Leave you up here to be killed by a bunch of crazy Villagers? Don't think so! You saved my life, so I am merely returning the favour." Then some howling of Night creatures could be heard and River grabbed a couple of buckets full of salt before she looked at the Villagers as she tried to rally them and said,

"Night creatures are powerful beings birthed from hell itself, however, they are extremely vulnerable to salt. This stuff can kill Night creatures easily and effectively if you coat your weapons with it. Use it to protect your homes and your loved ones!"

The Villagers then looked at each other before they looked back at River, before then one by one the Villagers began dipping their weapons in the buckets of salt and readied themselves for the Night creatures attack. As the first group of Night creatures ran into the Village, Sypha created walls of ice and ice spikes that impaled a few Night creatures as some Villagers charged forward and attacked with their salt laced weapons and the Night creatures howled as their bodies burned.

River also coated her short sword with salt and was busy killing Night creatures that managed to get past Sypha's ice walls, her face getting covered with blood with each creature she put down and her breathing started to become heavy from all the fighting. Eventually the Night creatures' numbers started to dwindle until they slowly began to retreat, there were a few Villagers that were killed in the attack but at least she was able to minimize the damage.

However, just as River was beginning to relax a little, the ground underneath her began to crumble before it collapsed and River fell into the Catacombs below, she managed to land on her feet on the ground and smiled to herself as she said, "Reflexes like a cat." Before then the ground crumbled again and River fell deeper into the Catacombs and this time River landed hard on her back on the ground.

Sypha then entered the hole in the ground and traveled down to where River was laying before she looked worried as she said, "River, are you ok? That was quite the nasty fall." and River groaned as she looked up at the ceiling as she replied,

"Ow, fuck, please tell me I'm dead Sypha."

And Sypha let out a small giggle as she shook her head as she said, "I'm sorry to disappoint you River, but you are very much alive since you were able to answer me." River then slowly dragged herself back to her feet as she looked at Sypha after dusting herself off as she replied,

"You know, I was joking about the whole being dead thing right? I don't plan on leaving this world just yet."

Sypha then perked a brow at River as she handed her a torch and walked down the hall before she asked, "Really? and why's that River? You have someone special waiting for you somewhere?" and River blushed a little at Sypha as she shook her head and said,

"No, not really, Just have things I want to do before I do eventually kick the bucket, that's all."

Eventually Sypha and River came to a large room that a had a coffin sitting in it, and as both Sypha and River slowly got closer to the coffin, a pressure plate activated underneath River's foot and River had a shocked look on her face as she looked at Sypha and said, "I didn't do it." before the coffin then slowly opened revealing a pale white man with long blonde hair laying inside.

The pale looking man then opened his eyes as he stepped out from the coffin and looked at both River and Sypha as he said, "Are you the ones who woke me up from my slumber?" and River looked at the pale man as she replied,

"Well umm, yes we are. although it wasn't intentional."

Sypha then looked at the pale man in awe as she said, "You are Adrian Tepes, better known as Alucard. The anti Dracula." before she then added, "You're exactly who I have been looking for!" and Alucard looked slightly confused at Sypha as he replied,

"You've been looking for me? What would you need me for?"

River then lunged at Alucard and swung her sword at him before her sword was blocked by Alucard, and Sypha looked slightly annoyed at River as she said, "Is your first instinct to attack everything we bump into? Alucard could help us!" and River grunted as she struggled to push her sword against Alucard as she looked at Sypha and replied,

"Tell that to Vampire Jesus over here! his father is the reason we are in the shit we are in now."

Alucard then pushed River back across the room with ease before he followed after her and two clashed swords with each other once more, Sypha looked at the two frustrated as she said to them, "If the two of you could stop acting like children! You could see it would be better if we worked together instead of against each other!" but neither Alucard or River seemed to be listening to her as they continued fighting and clashing swords against each other.

River then threw her knee into Alucard's groin hoping to get a reaction out of him, but Alucard seemed unfazed by River's attempt as he simply looked at River and said, "Please, this isn't a bar fight. Have some class!" before River then simply shrugged her shoulders before headbutting Alucard knocking him back a little. The two were about to charge at each other again when Sypha scowled at both them as she screamed,

"THAT'S ENOUGH! BOTH OF YOU!"

Later…

Then was beginning to rise and Sypha and the others were standing in the ruins of a house, before Sypha then looked at both Alucard and River as she scolded, "I can't believe the both of you, fighting like you are children! You two better apologize to each other before we decide what we do next." and Alucard shrugged his shoulders at Sypha as he said,

"I believe Belmont and I are a little more grown up than that." before Alucard then looked at River as he said to her, "But...if it will make her feel better, I'm sorry I tried to kill you and drink your blood, Belmont." and River then looked at Alucard as she replied,

"I'm sorry for not burning you and flailing you and making you into a pair of shoes, Alucard."

Sypha then looked off into the rising sun as she said to herself, "Some merry bunch we are." before she then looked at both Alucard and River as she said, "Any suggestions on what we do now?" and River pushed herself off the wall she was leaning against as she replied,

"I know a place we can go. I haven't been there in quite a while and the journey will be a long one if the either of you are up to it."

Alucard then perked a brow at River as he asked, "And where exactly are we going, Belmont?" and River looked at Alucard as she smiled and replied,

"To Wallachia. There's...something important there that will be useful for all of us going forward."

And Sypha then looked at River as she said, "Then Wallachia it is then. I will secure us a cart and a couple of horses. Please don't try and kill each other while I'm gone." and Alucard smiled slightly at Sypha as he replied,

"Please, we're not children."

Once Sypha had left Alucard and River to get a cart and some horses, River looked over at Alucard as she said to him, "Eat shit and die, Alucard." and Alucard simply chuckled slightly as he looked back at River as he replied,

"Fuck you too, Belmont."

A/N: And that does it for now folks! I will be sure to write more soon so stay tuned. What will River and the others find in Wallachia? and will River fall for Alucard's charm? Or will a different person or Vampire claim her heart? Find out next time.
