Star Wars Randis: Blood Matters Not

Chapter 1: A Fate Decided

The wind flowing through his black hair. He walked along the shore, picking up little rocks as he went and putting them in the pockets of his black pants. Once he had collected enough he walked up to the path that led to his home and stood in front of it. He pulled out one of the rocks and threw it. He watched as it skipped across the water's surface, creating a ripple effect as it went. One after another, he skipped the rocks. Eventually, the boy heard the voice of his mother calling to him. He ran down path that lead to his house. He reached the stone house that had smoke coming from its chimney. The wooden door creaked as he swung it open. His mother was standing in the kitchen, wearing a blue gown with her hair tied up into a bun.

"Where have you been my son?", she asked the boy.

"I was skipping rocks down at the shore, mother.", the boy said. His mother gave him a disapproving look.

"What have I told you about going down to the shore by yourself?", the mother said.

"I'm sorry, mother. It's just that the sea is so peaceful today. I really wanted to skip a few rocks.", the boy said.

"You must be careful, my boy. You don't know what dangers could be out there.", the mother said. The boy looked down at the cobblestoned floor he was standing on.

"I'm sorry, mother.", he said, still looking down.

"It's alright, my child. Now, go get ready for dinner. Your father will be with us shortly."

The boy ran up to his room. He sat down on his bed and unlaced the brown shoes that he was wearing. He placed them under the bed. As he did, he heard beeping sounds coming from the corner. A little red and white droid stepped out of the shadows.

"Hey, AB-7.", the boy said to the droid. AB-7 responded in his usually way.

"You haven't caused my mother any trouble, have you?". Before AB-7 could answer, the boy's mother called for him.

"Your father is hear my son. Come eat dinner.", the boy's mother said. AB-7 looked at the boy as he entered the door way.

"I'll be back after dinner, AB.", he said to the droid. He walked down the stairs and into the kitchen. His mother and father had already sat down. He sat in his usually seat beside his father.

"How was work today, Zahini?", the boy's mother asked his father.

"Another hard day, Shania. Lucky, what I made today will put food in our stomachs for the next week.", said Zahini.

The boy swallowed the piece of food in his mouth before he spoke. "Why can't I work?", the boy asked. "I could be able to help you out."

The boy's mother smiled. "Maybe when you are older my boy.", his mother said.

The three of them continued to eat. After awhile, a roaring sound was coming from the shore. Zahini and Shania walked over to the window. A ship hand landed on the sand and figure in black stepped out.

"Oh no.", said Zahini. "Go to your room and grab your things my son. Quickly!", said Shania. The boy was confused.

"What's wrong father?", he asked.

"Just go!", Zahini exclaimed. The boy ran up stairs to room and put on his brown shoes. He then grabbed his pack and threw it over his shoulders. AB-7 was standing in the corner he was earlier.

"Come on, AB!", said the boy.

AB-7 hopped on to the boys pack. He ran down stairs where Shania was standing.

"I want you to have this my son.". She handed him the red crystalized necklace that she was wearing. "Get to the hideout and stay there.", she said. The boy hugged Shania.

"I love you mother.", he said. "I love you too my son.", Shania said. "Now, go!"

The boy ran out the back entry way of the house and across the patch of grass that went beyond it. AB-7 beeped.

"I don't know, AB.", the boy responded.

The boy kept running until he got to rocky edges of the mountains that faced his home and ran all the way to the shoreline. He pulled the metal hatch of the secret hideout that his parents had made and entered, closing the hatch behind him. He and AB-7 stood in the corner. Suddenly, the boy felt something that he had never felt before. Pain, suffering, and then sadness.

"Mother, father.", the boy said to himself.

He sat down on the floor of the cellar for what seemed like hours, sobbing. Then the hatch to the cellar opened. AB-7 beeped. The boy looked up. Tears still streaming down his face. A tall women with long blonde braided hair wearing a white robe with a black belt had entered. A blue light illuminating from the object in her hand.

"It's ok, child.", she said in a calm voice. "There's nothing to be afraid of. I'm not going to hurt you".

The boy stood up and walked over to the women. "My name is Danalar Kanti. What is yours?", she asked. "Dal.", the boy said. "Dal Randis.".
