According to the records of Omnipotence City's Halls of All-Knowing, the phenomenon known as the God Tempest, or the Mother of Thunder, was a cosmic thunderstorm that existed since the dawn of time and grew gradually in size each aeon that passed. The worst of its wrath was reserved for those who truly deserved it, which made people believe it had a mind of its own.
On its path of destruction, the God Tempest eventually reached Asgard. The All-Father Odin confronted the storm and fended it off for days with the power of the Odin-Force. Once the storm grew tired and weak, Odin struck it with a nugget of Uru which had been gifted to him by the Dwarves of Nidavellir. Through means of dark and primal magic, the storm became entrapped inside the Uru.
Odin subsequently took the piece of Uru back to the Dwarves so they could forge it into a weapon through which Odin could wield the storm's power. After seventeen weeks of forging, during which the Dwarves had to use the power of a star to reshape the metal, the piece of Uru was transformed into a hammer, which Odin dubbed Mjolnir.
However, the storm still raged inside the hammer, and Odin failed to contain it, forcing him to enchant it to prevent anybody else from lifting it. Mjolnir was then left to sit in the weapons hall of Asgard for ages. According to the Lord Librarian, the God Tempest eventually died, and only its power remained within Mjolnir. But that was just a misconception.
The hammer would become the weapon of Odin's son Thor, who proved himself worthy to bypass the hammer's enchantment. Many ages later, the hammer appeared to have regained its sentience. After Thor lost his ability to wield it, the hammer also rejected Odin's grasp and this was when the hammer decided to travel the multiverse in search of a worthy wielder, it has travelled for over a thousand years, until it finally detects one that is worthy of its power, one that would not abuse it and would use it to its very limit to protect the innocent and use its wrath to bring forth judgement to those who truly deserves it.
Within Remnant.
Five years. That was how long since Mjolnir landed on Remnant. Five years since Jaune lifted Mjolnir and became the God Tempest of Remnant. Four years. Four years since Jaune's father broke his promise about training Jaune after he became strong enough and left his home. Three years. Three years since Jaune battled Salem for forty days and forty nights. Two years. Two years since Jaune and Salem fell in love. One year. One year since Jaune met up with the only family member to support his dream. One month. One month since Jaune married Salem.
Jaune at the moment is making breakfast for his wife, who at the moment is still sleeping in bed. After making breakfast, Jaune put the food he cooked which were blueberry pancakes, syrup and some hot chocolate in a tray. He then brought it into the room with his sleeping wife.
"Salem, Honey, wake up, I made you some breakfast," Jaune said.
Salem groan about being woken up, she wanted to sleep more, but the moment she heard that Jaune made breakfast for her, she was up immediately, there was no way she would ever let the food Jaune cook for her go cold, she loves his cooking.
"Did you say breakfast?" Salem said happily.
"Yup made some blueberry pancake with syrup and some hot chocolate," Jaune said.
"Thanks, honey," Salem said and then she started eating.
While eating her breakfast, Salem reminiscent of the day she met Jaune.
Flashback.
Salem was sitting on her throne in the Evernight Castle. It was then that she felt a massive power. A power that she was very familiar with. The power of the twin Gods.
"This power! I can never forget this power signature! It's one of the twin Gods!" Salem said angrily.
Out of anger, she went towards the energy source and attacked it. If she had even a slightly clear mind, she would have realised that the person she was attacking was in fact not one of the twin Gods, but was Jaune Arc, who happen to stumble in the Land of Darkness.
"You will pay for everything that you've done to me and the person that I loved!" Salem said angrily.
"Lady, I don't even know who you are! Stop attacking or I will retaliate!" Jaune shouted.
"Don't pretend to not know me! You were the one who made me immortal!" Salem shouted while continuing her assault on Jaune.
As for Jaune, rather than continue persuading her to stop, he decided to just fight her until she stops, after all, he understood that Salem's anger was not directed at him, but at someone else. He didn't exert much strength when he fought her, just enough to mostly push her away. This continued for forty days and forty nights.
Eventually, Salem's anger died down enough for her to realise that Jaune was neither the God of Light or the God of Darkness, but that did not completely get rid of her anger as she knows that Jaune is a God.
"Finally! I was impatient with you attacking me!" Jaune said.
"You're a God," Salem said.
"Yeah, but I was human, born human and raised as a human," Jaune said.
"That can't be true! I have never heard of a human becoming a God!" Salem said.
"Normally yes, but there are some circumstances that humans do become Gods, just not here on Remnant," Jaune said.
"What do you mean just not here in Remnant?" Salem asked.
"Remnant is not the only world out there, there are infinite worlds, worlds that we can't even comprehend," Jaune said.
"I see. Then care to sha…" Salem said but was cut off by Jaune.
"Sorry, I need to go. I promised someone last month that I will help them, so, I'm sorry but I'll return another time to finish our chat," Jaune said before spinning his hammer and flying away.
Salem just stared at Jaune flying away. The moment he was out of sight, she headed back to her castle, where a manic scorpion Faunus was searching for her frantically.
"My Goddess! I have been searching for a whole month in search of you, but I couldn't find you," Tyrian Callows said.
"I was just out on a walk, there is nothing to worry about," Salem said.
"Understood my Goddess, I shall return to my duties," Tyrian said.
Salem in the beginning was doubtful that Jaune was going to visit, but she was proven wrong a week later when she felt Jaune's signature again in the Land of Darkness. She went towards him and they continued the conversation from their last meeting. A day became a week. A week became a month. And a month became a year. Before she even knew it, she's forgotten her anger towards the Gods for the time she was with Jaune. One thing she also didn't realise was her growing feelings for Jaune.
Jaune, in his part, returned to the Land of Darkness since he told Salem that he would. But that was not all, in the heart of Salem, he saw a woman who is lonely and a woman who was betrayed by someone dear to her. So, he went back to help her, but not once did he ever imagine that he would fall in love with her, in the beginning, he would ignore it, and pretend it was never there but the longer he interacted with Salem, the harder it was to ignore.
Jaune knew of Salem's desire to destroy the current humanity, but he can see that it was slowly disappearing by the day until it was completely gone at the end of the year.
Salem knew of Jaune's desire to protect people and become a hero, but she never once scoffed at it or belittle his dream, which was a breath of fresh air for Jaune whose family did not even believe in him or would give him the time of day to train him.
Flashback end.
Salem's stopped reminiscing the days she met and fell in love with Jaune when she felt Jaune sit on the bed beside her.
"What are you thinking about?" Jaune asked.
"Just the days when we first met," Salem said.
"Ah, the day you attacked me," Jaune said jokingly.
"Yes. And I really am sorry about that day," Salem said apologetically.
"Don't. Because it was that incident that brought us together if you never mistook me for one of the twin Gods, then I never would have met you that day and I may never have understood you the way I did. If I never met you that day, I may have never gotten to know you for who you really are and just see you as a monster," Jaune said.
"Jaune, can I ask. Why did you not try to kill me that day?" Salem asked.
"Because I felt the anger that you were producing was never aimed at me but someone else. It was the reason that I just used enough strength to push you away instead of strength that may kill you," Jaune said.
"He-he-he, you probably didn't hear me say that I was an immortal," Salem said with a bit of chuckle.
"No, I did not. The only thing that was going through my mind that day was, 'why was this bitch trying to attack me'," Jaune said.
"Did you really call me a bitch?" Salem said.
"Yes, I was already frustrated with the fact I didn't know where I was and some bitch just attacked me out of nowhere," Jaune said. This just made Salem chuckle as she hasn't thought of Jaune as a guy that would call a woman a bitch.
"Well, are you ready for the day?" Salem asked.
"I am, but I don't know if I should use the bullhead or just fly there," Jaune said.
"The real question is, Why do you even want to attend Beacon?" Salem said.
"Well, it was my dream to be a huntsman and the only way to be a huntsman is to go through one of the Huntsman Academies, and Beacon is the best and the closest to us," Jaune said.
"Right, but in reality, the only reason that you want to still be a huntsman is to rub it on your family's face," Salem said.
"Wow, you know me so well," Jaune said, Salem just laughed at Jaune's words.
"Of course! You're my husband after all," Salem said proudly.
"And you're my wife, so, I know that you only agreed with me going to Beacon because you want to troll your ex-husband, Ozma or was it Ozpin now," Jaune said and that got a chuckle out of Salem.
"It's Ozpin now and of course there's no way I'm going to let this kind of opportunity go," Salem said.
"Well, you better finish your breakfast, take a shower and get dressed, because the bullhead will be leaving in an hour," Jaune said and Salem complied.
An hour later they were in a bullhead going to Beacon, Jaune and Salem were making light conversation with some nefarious plans of Salem to troll Ozpin. Not far from them was a blonde girl with lilac eyes and a red-haired girl with silver eyes.
"That's interesting," Salem said.
"What is?" Jaune asked.
"That silver-eyed girl over there reminds me of another silver-eyed person," Salem said while pointing at the red-haired girl
"Was it one of the people that you killed years ago?" Jaune asked.
"No, I didn't kill her, she never came close to my castle, but I remember her since she was the only person that I know has ever survived a long time in the Land of Darkness, but after a hard fight, she was killed by Grimm," Salem said.
"I see. I suggest that you don't say that to her or anyone she knows," Jaune said.
"I know," Salem said.
"Hello, and welcome to Beacon!" said a lady.
"Who's that?" the blondie from earlier asked.
"My name is Glynda Goodwitch," Glynda said.
"Oh," Blondie said.
"You are among a privileged few who have received the honour of being selected to attend this prestigious academy! Our world is experiencing an incredible time of peace, and as future Huntsmen and Huntresses, it is your duty to uphold it. You have demonstrated the courage needed for such a task, and now it is our turn to provide you with the knowledge and the training to protect our world." Glynda said.
"Oh, wow! Look, you can see Signal from up here! I guess home isn't too far after all!" the red-haired girl said.
"Beacon's our home, now," the blondie said.
"Wow, they look excited to head to Beacon," Jaune said but when he looked at Salem she just has a massive smirk on her face as she just thought of a way to make Ozpin look crazy.
"Salem, you okay there?" Jaune asked.
"I am, and I just made a plan to make Ozpin look crazy," Salem said.
"Oh, and what's that?" Jaune asked.
"Simple. All I have to do is appear for a second and then disappear and now that I am human again it will be even more effective, this way he would think it was just a hallucination, but repeat it enough times and he should become paranoid," Salem said.
"That's just evil," Jaune said jokingly.
"I know," Salem said.
A while later, the bullhead landed on Beacon courtyard, where every student can see the beauty of Beacon Academy and the Statue of a great hero. When Jaune and Salem got out of the bullhead, Salem was excited to put her plans into action.
"Salem, where are you going?" Jaune asked.
"To start my plan to troll Ozpin!" Salem shouted.
"Okay, just make sure you don't overdo it," Jaune said and Salem was gone, she was excited to piss off Ozpin for betraying her. She may no longer want to take over Remnant but she will not stop terrorising Ozpin.
Jaune was minding his own business and looking at the forest when he heard a loud boom close by, he went a check what it was, he saw the same red-haired girl from the bullhead and a white-haired girl who was covered in dust.
"Unbelievable! This is exactly the kind of thing I was talking about!" the white-haired girl shouted.
"I'm really, really sorry!" the red-haired girl said apologetically.
"Ugh, you complete dolt! What are you even doing here? Aren't you a little young to be attending Beacon?" the white-haired girl complained.
"Well, I-I..." the red-haired girl stuttered.
"This isn't your ordinary combat school. It's not just sparring and practice, you know! We're here to fight monsters, so... watch where you're going!" the white-haired girl said.
"Hey, I said I was sorry, princess!" the red-haired girl said in frustration.
"It's heiress, actually." A raven-haired girl with a bow said.
"Weiss Schnee, heiress to the Schnee Dust Company, one of the largest producers of energy propellant in the world." The raven-haired continued
"Finally! Some recognition!" the white-haired girl now name Weiss said.
"The same company infamous for its controversial labour forces and questionable business partners." The raven-haired interjected.
"Wha- How dare- The nerve of... Ugh!" Weiss says in frustration.
"I promise I'll make this up to you! I guess I'm not the only one having a rough first day... So, what's...Welcome to Beacon..." the red-haired girl said while watching the raven-haired girl walk away.
"Hey... I'm Jaune." Jaune said while offering a hand to the girl.
"I'm Ruby," the red-haired girl said, now named Ruby.
"What was that all about?" Jaune asked.
"I tripped over some crabby girl's luggage, and then she yelled at me, and then I sneezed, and then I exploded, and then she yelled at me again, and I felt really, really bad!" Ruby said.
"Wow, you've only been here in Beacon for a few minutes and you already made an enemy and blew up something," Jaune said jokingly.
"Hey! That was an accident!" Ruby complained.
"I know, but it's still funny," Jaune said while laughing.
"You're mean," Ruby said. With that, Jaune and Ruby head to the Auditorium.
Meanwhile, Salem was in Ozpin's office using illusion magic to appear and disappear in front of him. Normally, if Salem was using her usual magic, then Ozpin would easily detect it, but what Salem was using was Asgardian magic, Salem learned it from Jaune who learned it from Mjolnir using Event Recall, this ability from Mjolnir allows Jaune to see Events that Mjolnir was in the vicinity of which is Asgard, meaning every event happening in Asgard was recorded by Mjolnir even if Mjolnir was miles away from it.
The illusion magic that Salem used was an illusion made by Loki, the brother of Thor, the God of tricksters, and Salem is using it to make Ozpin go mad while enjoying his misery.
In Ozpin's view, in front of him was the Grimm version of Salem, standing in front of him, doing nothing…until, it lunge towards him, this made Ozpin jump to pick up his weapon, but then a single second of taking his eyes away from the image was enough for Salem to release the image and when Ozpin looked back there was nothing there.
"What?! What was that?" Ozpin questioned himself.
Ozpin went towards the area that he saw the image of Salem, which was by the elevator, he inspected the area to make sure that nothing was amiss, but when he looked at the elevator, the reflection showed him that Salem was behind him, he turned around as quickly as he can, and again there was nothing there.
In one of the corners of the office, Salem was laughing at Ozpin's misery, but she decided to stop for now and continue once more in the auditorium while he gave his speech, then again she thought, why not one more.
When Ozpin went to his desk to have a seat, Salem clicked the button to call for the elevator, and when it arrived, Ozpin was startled at it arriving on his floor without anyone on it, he stared at it for a few minutes, it was then that Salem showed her real self, her human self, which caught Ozpin off guard, he tried to chase after the elevator but failed.
Ozpin hurried back to his desk to check the camera within the elevator, he thought that should confirm if Salem was really at Beacon, but sadly, the video shows an empty elevator with not even a fly on it.
"I-I-I I think I need to head out and clear my head, besides, I still have a speech to give," Ozpin said to himself.
Ozpin called the elevator and headed down to the auditorium, it should be enough fresh air to clear his mind, he was hoping what he saw was just his mind playing tricks on him.
Back with Jaune and Ruby, they were walking towards the auditorium in awkward silence, but that was broken by Ruby.
"So…I got this thing!" Ruby said while taking out her weapon.
"Whoa! A scythe!" Jaune said.
"It's also a customizable high-impact sniper rifle!" Ruby shouted in glee.
"A gun as well that's pretty cool," Jaune said.
"So what've you got?" Ruby asked and Jaune reached behind him which was hidden due to his cape.
"This is my hammer, Mjolnir!" Jaune said happily.
"What does it do?!" Ruby asked excitedly.
"Well, many things really, but one of my favourite features is its ability to let me fly," Jaune said.
"No way! That's cool! How does it do it!?" Ruby said.
"I am not sure, I was not the creator of Mjolnir," Jaune said.
"Can I try flying with it?" Ruby asked.
"Unfortunately, you would not be able to lift Mjolnir," Jaune said sadly.
"Wha? That's Rude! Are you saying I am too weak to lift your hammer?!" Ruby said.
"No, no. With the weight of your weapon, normally you should be able to lift my hammer since it only weighs about forty-two point three pounds (19kg), but Mjolnir is no ordinary weapon," Jaune said and he handed Mjolnir to Ruby which then dropped to the ground, Ruby tried everything she can to lift it but to no avail.
"What the?! There is no way that this is just forty pounds!" Ruby said.
"We can put it on a scale and it would register as forty-three pounds no matter what scale you put it on," Jaune said. Ruby is still trying to pick up the hammer.
"Ooooooh, I wanted to try flying with it," Ruby said while pouting.
"You know you can still do it, but you will have to hold me," Jaune said.
"Can we, can we, please," Ruby said.
"Sure…just hold on tight," Jaune said with Ruby on his side, he started to spin Mjolnir and the next thing Ruby knew was that they were moving in the air at incredible speeds. Ruby was enjoying the flight but Jaune told her that they needed to land since they had to go to the auditorium for the headmaster's speech.
When they landed, Ruby pouted and made Jaune promise to take her flying again later, Jaune wanted to decline but he couldn't when she used her signature puppy dog eyes on him and he couldn't say no.
"Fine! I will take you flying again later," Jaune said.
"Yay! I can't wait to tell Yang! By the way Jaune, I can see a ring in your hands, are you perhaps married?" Ruby asked.
"Yes I am," Jaune said.
"Woah! You are just like two years older than me and you're already married, that's kind of cool, is your wife here with you in Beacon and will she be attending?" Ruby asked.
"She's here at Beacon but she won't be attending," Jaune said.
"Oooh, that's too bad, it will be kind of cool if you end up on the same team, husband and wife fighting to protect the people of Remnant! Just like my mom and dad before my mom died," Ruby said cheerfully but ended up sad.
"Ruby, are you okay?" Jaune asked.
"I'm fine, just kind of remembered my mother," Ruby said.
"What was she like, your mother?" Jaune asked.
"I didn't have much time with her, but my older sister Yang used to tell me that she was like a super mom, great at baking cookies and kicking Grimm butt," Ruby said.
Jaune and Ruby continued to converse about Ruby's mom and other things, such as favourite food, favourite drinks, etc… A few minutes later they finally arrived at the auditorium.
"Ruby! Over here! I saved you a spot!" the blondie for the bullhead said.
"Oh! Hey, that's my sister Yang, I-I got to go! Or you can come with and meet her," Ruby said.
"Sure, why not, she seems like a great person," Jaune said. He and Ruby headed to the area where the blondie was.
"How's your first day going, little sister? And who's this?" Yang said
"You mean since you ditched me and I exploded? And this is Jaune by the way," Ruby said.
"Yikes! Meltdown already?" Yang said while ignoring Jaune.
"No, I literally exploded a hole in front of the school! And there was some fire, and I think some ice...?" Ruby said.
"Are you being sarcastic?" Yang asked.
"No! I'm serious and just like I told my new friend, I tripped over some crabby girl's luggage, and then she yelled at me, and then I sneezed, and then I exploded, and then she yelled at me again, and I felt really, really bad and I just wanted her to stop yelling at me!" Ruby said. Jaune tapped on Ruby's shoulder to tell her to stop but it was too late.
"YOU!" Weiss shouted.
"Oh, God, it's happening again!" Ruby said while jumping in Jaune's arms.
"You're lucky we weren't blown off the side of the cliff!" Weiss said angrily.
"Oh my God, you really exploded," Yang said in a deadpan voice.
"It was an accident! It was an accident!" Ruby said.
Weiss then holds a pamphlet in front of Ruby's face which state's 'DUST for Dummies and other inadequate individuals'.
"The Schnee Dust Company is not responsible for any injuries or damages sustained while operating a Schnee Dust Company product. Although not mandatory, the Schnee Family highly encourages their customers to read and familiarize themselves with this easy to follow guide to Dust applications and practices in the field!" Weiss said.
"Ahhhh…?" Ruby didn't have words to say.
"You really want to start making things up to me?" Weiss asked.
"Absolutely?" Ruby said questioningly.
"Read this, and don't ever speak to me again," Weiss said.
"Look, uh, it sounds like you two just got off on the wrong foot. Why don't you start over and try to be friends, okay?" Yang interjected.
"Yeah! Great idea, sis! Hello, Weiss! I'm Ruby! Want to hang out? We can go shopping for school supplies!" Ruby said.
"Yeah! And we can paint our nails and try on clothes and talk about cute boys, like tall, blond, and muscley over there!" Weiss said in a mock tone.
"Uhm…Weiss, that's not a good idea, Jaune's a married man," Ruby said.
"And devoted to his wife," Jaune added.
Weiss just 'Hmph' and let.
Jaune, Ruby and Yang's attention is drawn to the stage, where Professor Ozpin is readying the microphone, with Glynda beside him. Salem then goes behind Jaune who nobody but Jaune noticed.
"Salem, where have you been?" Jaune asked.
"Making Ozpin's life miserable, I've been using that illusion magic that you taught me to scare Ozpin," Salem said.
"And what do you plan to do now?" Jaune asked.
"Continue tormenting Ozpin of course, in fact, I will be doing that now," Salem said.
"I'll... keep this brief. You have travelled here today in search of knowledge, to hone your craft and acquire new skills, and when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. But I look amongst you, and all I see is wasted energy, in need of purpose, direction," Ozpin said while he starts looking at the whole auditorium full of initiates, while looking, in the corner of his eyes, he sees Salem, when he tried to look directly at that location, nothing, there was just a blonde man in armour and a cape, a blonde girl with lilac eyes and a silvered Ruby Rose.
"Y-You assume knowledge will free you of this, b-but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. I-It is up to you to take the first step," Ozpin continued with a stutter.
After his speech he whispered something on Glynda's ears before walking out of the stage, he wanted to meet with her in his office regarding the queen, Glynda just gave him a nod and went towards the mic.
"You'll gather in the ballroom tonight, tomorrow, your initiation begins. Be ready. You are dismissed," Glynda announced.
"He seemed kind of... off," Yang said.
"It's almost like he wasn't even there," Ruby said.
"No, it looked like he was afraid of something," Jaune said.
"Pfft, Nah, there is no way a person like Ozpin is afraid of something," Ruby said.
"Hah! You'd be surprised, there are just some parts of people that they don't show the public," Jaune said.
"So, Jaune, you're married, is your wife here with you?" Yang asked.
"She's right behind me," Jaune said.
Ruby and Yang looked and they saw a blonde woman around six feet tall, blue eyes, flawless skin and immensely beautiful.
"Woah! She's beautiful," Ruby said.
"Yeah no kidding," Yang said.
While Ruby and Yang were admiring Salem's beauty and asking questions. In Ozpin's office were Glynda and Ozpin talking about Ozpin's experience of the whole day.
"Ozpin, are you sure that you saw correctly?" Glynda asked.
"I am! I clearly saw her!" Ozpin said in frustration.
"Okay, but my camera did not show anyone with the description that you mention, and I checked the cameras, there was no one behind the young man that match the description," Glynda said.
"Glynda, I know what I saw! She's here! In the academy with no one the wiser, just because the camera doesn't show her, doesn't mean she isn't here!" Ozpin said.
"Fine! Alright, I will keep an eye out, but in exchange, I want to see you doing your own paperwork for once," Glynda said.
"I'll agree to that as long as you keep an eye out," Ozpin said.
"Now, Ozpin we need to figure out how we are going to put the new initiates into teams," Glynda said.
"We'll just catapult them into the Emerald forest and the first person they make eye contact with is their partner," Ozpin said.
"Are you serious? That's not very reliable, what if the students do not like their partner or what if the whole team was dysfunctional, we need to think about this seriously," Glynda said.
"They will need to learn to work together even if they don't like each other, after all, out in the field they won't always be working with people they are friends with," Ozpin said.
"Alright," Glynda said before she left to watch over the students to make sure they don't do anything indecent in the ballroom.
Later that night, Jaune and Salem went back to their house, Jaune used Mjolnir to open a portal rather than flying with it.
"So, Salem, How's your ex-husband?" Jaune asked.
"Miserable that's for sure, and one thing I realised, he has either gotten a lot weaker than I thought or he's gone senile, he still hasn't realised that you're a God or a God walks in his precious academy," Salem said.
"Damn, that means if you didn't stop your desire for the destruction of Remnant, you would probably succeed if I was not here," Jaune said.
"Pretty much," Salem said.
"Are you going to continue tormenting him tomorrow?" Jaune asked.
"Of course, I'm just getting started!" Salem said excitedly.
With that, Salem and Jaune went to bed; they were excited for the next day. Jaune was excited because he was closer to pissing off his family by getting a huntsman licence; as for Salem, it was the idea of tormenting Ozpin further.
