Sonic and Amy Rose (C) to SEGA
Comforting Rose
Amy Rose wishes she were dead. "Somebody please kill me," she thought. The pain is too unbearable. And the cravings—why is she craving for so much chocolate and potato chips? "Ugh, this sucks!" She says to herself. Amy wakes up this morning—and there it is.
Sonic woke up before Amy with his morning fresh cup of coffee. He appears by the doorway with his palm resting on the frame and his coffee mug in his free hand. He has a smile on his face. "Morning, Ames."
Amy gets up, not in the mood for that. She lets out a growl as she rubs the sleep off her eyes.
Sonic takes a sip of his coffee before telling her, "I made you breakfast. It's downstairs waiting for you."
"For what?!" Amy yells out.
"Just wanted to start the morning for you," Sonic says.
She sighs, "Okay, fine. Just—let me go to the bathroom first. I really need to take a piss."
He lets his palm off the doorway frame. "You feeling okay, Amy?"
"I said, I'm FINE!" Amy never meant to yell at him.
Sonic is startled when she shouted at him. "Whoa."
Amy calms down. "Sorry, Sonic. Just—feeling something that's not there."
Sonic doesn't seem to be affected by her inadvertent shouting at him. He is about to walk closer to her. Just as he is about a couple of feet apart from Amy, Amy shouts once again, "I TOLD YOU, LEAVE ME ALONE! YOU'RE BREATHING IN MY AIR!"
He backs off, "Sorry?"
She takes a deep breath, "No, it's okay. Just let me go to the bathroom first and then I'll come down for breakfast."
"You got it," Sonic says, leaving the bedroom.
Once he's out of sight, Amy meticulously gets out of bed and then goes straight to the bathroom. She spent about five minutes there. When she is done, she leaves the bathroom and then descends the stairs to the kitchen.
There, on the table, Amy sees that Sonic has prepared a decadent breakfast for her: egg white gouda cheese omelet, veggie bacon, and a cup of coffee with milk and sugar. There's even a little vase with a pink rose inside. She craves for the omelet and the meatless bacon, but the coffee—she knew something is wrong.
Because of her cramps, the milk and caffeine of the coffee would just worsen it. Instead, Amy leaves the coffee aside and just eats the omelet and bacon.
Sonic appears in the kitchen, sitting down opposite of Amy. He sees her ravenously eating her breakfast, though the coffee remains untouched.
He asks, "Don't you want some coffee, Ames?"
Amy looks up with a mouthful of egg whites. She didn't want to tell him why. Her only answer is, "No, you can have that."
As Sonic finishes up his first cup of coffee, he sets his empty mug aside and drinks from Amy's mug. While Amy is scarfing down her food, there is silence between the two.
A minute later, Sonic breaks the silence, "So, Amy."
Amy is halfway finishing up her breakfast, almost reluctantly looking up at him again, not wanting to be disturbed while she's eating, "What?" She says coldly.
Sonic informs her, "Shadow, Silver, Scourge, Manic, and I are going swimming down at the pool. Well… at least they will be doing the swimming, not me. I'm just going to sit aside and maybe sunbathe while they swim. You coming?"
Amy knew where this is going. She answers, "I can't go swimming."
"Why not?" He asks.
She remains silent, not wanting to admit the reason why. "I just can't…"
Sonic is oblivious by her words. Then, he sees the sadness on her face. He becomes concern for her. "Are you sure you're okay?"
Amy gets up in irritation. "FOR THE LAST TIME, I'M FINE, SONIC!"
With only little pieces of food left on her plate, Amy gets up from the table and stomps her way back to the bedroom with the pain on her stomach remaining persistent.
Sonic hears the bedroom door slam, though it's really faint.
"What just happened?" Sonic asks himself.
When he notices that there's some food left on her plate, Sonic decides to finish it for her instead of throwing it away.
After finishing his second cup of coffee and putting the used tableware in the sink to wash later, Sonic heads to the bathroom to shower.
When he's done washing himself, Sonic gets out of the shower and grabs a towel from the rack. He dries his quills, causing them to be spiky in the most attractive way. As he puts the towel back on the rack, something caught Sonic's attention.
On the floor right next to the toilet is a box. With a closer inspection, he can see the label on the front: Tampons.
Sonic knew right away what this meant.
Understanding what Amy is going through right now, Sonic came up with an idea on accommodating her. Without letting Amy know—and leaving her alone for a while to keep her at peace to control her mood swings—Sonic goes out to run a few errands.
He only went out for half an hour. When he returns home, Sonic takes out a basket he finds sitting in the living room—which he and Amy have been saving when they once received a fruit basket gift from Silver and Blaze for their anniversary of being together. Sonic puts certain items he just bought from the supermarket into the basket and then carries it upstairs to their room.
The bedroom door is still closed. Sonic knocks quietly. Amy answers the door, feeling teary.
"What is it this time, Sonic?" Amy asks him.
Sonic lets out a smile. "I went out and got you a few things to keep you company."
He hands her their basket and Amy takes it. She takes a look.
Inside the basket are a package of red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting for her cravings for sweets, a lavender-scented candle for aromatherapy, and a bottle of ibuprofen and a heating pad for her cramps.
Amy glances at Sonic after examining the items. She smiles at him. "Thank you."
"Anytime, Ames." Sonic enters the bedroom.
Amy sets the basket on the nightstand and she lies back down on the bed. Sonic lights up the candle, hands her the ibuprofen, and then turns on the heating pad prior to setting it on Amy's belly. After he is done, he lies down next to her. Amy opens the pack of cupcakes and takes a bite on one of them. She suddenly feels better now, thanks to Sonic.
"How did you know?" Amy asks.
Sonic shrugs, "Boyfriend intuition."
Amy chuckles, laying her head on top of Sonic's shoulder. Sonic takes out the remote and turns on the TV to watch a movie with Amy. They're watching "Little Women."
"You're the best, you know that," Amy tells him.
"I know," Sonic replies.
After saying "I love you" to one another, Sonic the Hedgehog and Amy Rose resume their day without any disturbances. And it looks like Sonic is cancelling his plans with the guys.
Nothing is going to interfere with them.
