THE GIANT'S THRONE

NOTES:

DISCLAIMER: ALL THE CHARACTERS AND BACKGROUND SETTINGS BELONG TO RICK RIORDAN. I DO NOT OWN PJO NOR HOO.

This is my version of The Mark of Athena. I changed the name but it happens after The Son of Neptune. Again, I do not own PJO nor HOO. I write this just to practise my writing skills and to have some fun.

Since English is not my first language, if I have some grammar mistakes, please point them out in your reviews. Thank you very much.

I do not want to change everything. So, there are going to have some paragraphs copied directly from the original book. Again, I own nothing.

I will begin with some scenes in The Son of Neptune, just to adapt the changes. To those senior authors, please don't hate me. I am a new writer.

Enjoy!

I PERCY

Four hours.

That's how long it took the fastest horse on the planet to get from Alaska to San Francisco Bay, heading straight over the water down the Northwest Coast.

That's also how long it took for Percy's memory to return completely. The process had started in Portland when he had drunk the gorgon's blood, but his past life had still been maddeningly fuzzy. Now, as they headed back into the Olympian gods' territory, Percy remembered everything: the war with Kronos, his sixteenth birthday at Camp Half-Blood, his trainer Chiron the centaur, his best friend Grover, his brother Tyson, and most of all Annabeth—two great months of dating, and then BOOM. He'd been abducted by the alien known as Hera. Or Juno…whatever.

Eight months of his life were stolen. Next time Percy saw the Queen of Olympus, he was definitely going to give her a goddess-sized slap upside the head.

Wait, was it all bad?

Percy had to admit, this quest and the day at Camp Jupiter had slightly changed his personality. He started to think like a Roman. His sense became sharper. His fighting skill had improved. And most of all, when he looked into his past, he analyzed some events more deeply. And finally, he thought he had made a wrong decision in the past: dating Annabeth.

If someone had asked him to break up with Annabeth eight months ago, he would probably demand a fight with him. But now? Maybe.

He remembered his friend Luke, a son of Mer—Hermes. Before he sided with Kronos, he was a popular demigod at Camp. Everytime Annabeth saw him, she blushed heavily. That bothered Percy a lot. Annabeth really loved Luke. She stayed with Percy only because Luke had died.

Annabeth had said that Luke was like her brother right before he died. But was it true?

Percy always found it hard to understand people's emotions. But since he tried to understand the emotionless praetor Reyna, he became better at it.

Whatever the case, there was no time for Percy to think of more girl stuff.

The coastline began to look familiar. They raced past the Mendocino lighthouse. Shortly afterward, Mount Tam and the Marin headlands loomed out of the fog. Arion shot straight under the Golden Gate Bridge into San Francisco Bay.

They needed to fight another giant very soon.

(Time skip)

After Percy became the praetor, he decided to talk with Reyna a little bit.

"Reyna, we need to talk about The Prophecy of Seven. Immediately."

"Why?"

"Because something has changed. I need to make sure that you are one of them."

"It's starting, isn't it?"

"Yes."

He told her everything. The Greeks, the Second Titan War, and his demigod life. When he finished, Reyna stared at him.

"You killed Kronos? You are really powerful."

"Luke did it actually. But I finally convinced him to do that. I led the Greeks in The Battle of Manhattan. And one thing you need to know, Jason and I were taken to the other camp by Hera, or Juno. She wanted us to unite the camps and fight Gaea together. Severn best demigods from this age will sail to the ancient land on Argo II, a warship built by Leo Valdez, a son of Hephaestus."

"Who will be them?"

"Jason Grace, son of Jupiter, Piper McLean, daughter of Aphrodite, Leo Valdez, Frank Zhang, and Hazel Levesque. The sixth will be me, and I want you to be the seventh, my praetor." Percy said calmly.

"Why me? Lady Juno chose you, but why me?"

"Because if you don't go on this quest, Annabeth will take your place. She's coming. I trust you more. I don't know what would happen if she and I don't get along. The seven need to be united. I don't love Annabeth anymore, I don't want to take that risk. Do you want to come, Reyna? For the world, for humans, or just for me? You know my story. Do you want me dying in a fight? After today? No. I don't think so."

Reyna nodded without hesitation, she promised him that she will join the Argo II.

"Good. Now, you may rest. According to Tyson, they are coming tomorrow. We need to schedule a senate meeting before they come. A good night. Ave Romae!"

"Ave Romae!"

Percy turned and left the room.

That's it. The first chapter! To all readers, this story is not a full Percy X Reyna romance! I will write about many other things. Now, Percy has no feeling towards Reyna. He did that for the safety of the quest. Next chapter, the Argo II will come.

Hope you enjoy this chapter. Please review. Give me some suggestions.
