Chapter I. Iruma, Ryūko, and Isabelle from Demon School 🏫
In front of a mansion stood a cloaked figure, along with two suitcases full of clothes and other essentials. The figure removed its hood to reveal a girl with platinum blonde hair partially tied in pigtails with the rest worn down, blue eyes with black round pupils, pointy ears, and horns that change from azure blue to sky blue. This girl is a cambion named Isabelle Abaddon.
Isabelle Abaddon, 14 years old. This girl may look like your average demon but clearly, you can see that she is a cambion. You heard me. She's born from a demon mother and a human father. However, being born from 2 different species doesn't mean she has the best of both worlds. All her life, Isabelle is often bombarded with insults, mockery, and prejudice. She was feared by humans and looked down by demons. Lately, she just moved to this mansion to escape from all this.
"This is it." Isabelle muttered to herself. "Your first step to a fresh start in life."
She then rang the doorbell and was greeted by a young man with red hair styled like a cat's head and a black cat's tail. He appears to be wearing a suit fit for a butler, which is, in fact, his job.
"Ah, you must be Miss Isabelle Abaddon." said the butler as Isabelle nodded. "My name is Opera and I welcome you to Master Sullivan's mansion."
Isabelle and Opera entered the mansion, the latter seeing that everything inside seems to be in pristine condition.
"Pardon us that Master Sullivan isn't here today. He's busy with something important." Said Opera as he carried one of Isabelle's suitcases.
"Why?" Asked Isabelle, "Did something terrible happen lately?"
"More or less. Anyway, here's your bedroom, Miss Isabelle."
He opened the door to show a Victorian-style bedroom, just for her.
As she settled in her bedroom, Isabelle placed all of her clothes in the closets and the toiletries in the bathroom. With much time to spare, she decided to lounge around the bedroom, admiring the outside through the bay window. An hour later, she headed to the dining room for a light snack when Opera showed up.
"Miss Isabelle." he said. "Master Sullivan is finally here. And he has brought someone around your age, two someones to be exact."
"Really?" Isabelle seemed to be intrigued by those two someones.
"Yes. They're in the guest room. You need to see them."
Both of them head to Sullivan's room to see the Demon Lord himself kneeling before... two humans. Isabelle couldn't believe it! One of these humans is a girl with long, wavy admiral blue hair with spiky forelocks and bangs covering her forehead, one blue eye, and one red eye. The other one is a boy who has blue hair but with a lighter shade than that of the human girl, and blue eyes. Both of them appear to be wearing bibs around their necks.
"Please, young Iruma and Ryūko! Won't you be my grandchildren?" Asked Sullivan, holding their hands.
"Huh?!" Blurted Ryūko and Iruma in unison.
"Grandchildren?" Isabelle raised an eyebrow in confusion. "He wants those two humans to be his grandchildren?"
"You see. I've been alone here all this time. It's always been my dream to have a grandchild to spoil, let alone two." Explained Sullivan as he happily hugged himself.
"A grandchild/Pardon me?" Asked the twins at once.
Sullivan held their hands again before saying, "Levi and Belial bragging about their grandkids makes me so jealous! I'll buy you two anything you want, and I'll spoil you rotten! So please, please say you'll be my grandchildren, right?"
'This seems confusing to me.' Thought Isabelle to herself.
"B-But you just told us we're sold to you." Said Iruma.
"Do we both have the right to decline?" Added Ryūko.
"I'll respect your wishes." Said Sullivan before turning his head away in sadness, "If you don't want to stay, I won't force you."
Ryūko sweat-drops at her younger twin brother who is wondering what he should do since he has never refused anyone in all their years growing up together.
"But, this situation is pretty insane." Whispered Iruma in Ryūko's ear, "I mean, most people would say 'no' to this insanity, wouldn't they?"
"In particular, most would definitely decline the offer." Ryūko whispered back. "But if we do have the right to say 'no'..."
The two then face up to Sullivan but he cuts them off before they could say anything else, clinging onto them.
"That said! That's exactly why I'm pushing you two so hard!" Said the demon, "Come one. I'm literally begging right now! You'll be fulfilling the dying wishes of an old man! Please!"
Uh-oh. It looks like the three words Iruma can never decline came up. The words that Iruma stands no chance against are: 'Please', 'Help', and 'I beg of you'. Iruma has the habit of just accepting anything after fourteen years of misfortune. Since Iruma was forced to sign the contract, Ryūko takes some of her blood onto the signature stamp before signing the contract.
She might not have much of another option, but from childhood, she vows to be at Iruma's side and protect him at whatever cost, including her own life or soul to sacrifice fiercely. She pats on Iruma's back as she pulls him closer to her.
"We just became a demon's grandchildren." Lamented Iruma for not rejecting the offer.
"It's alright. You have me and I'll keep my vow to be by your side until death do us apart." Whispered Ryūko while hugging her brother tightly. Iruma hugs back and puts his face on her right shoulder.
"Alrighty, now that that's been settled..." said Sullivan. He snaps his fingers as the room around then changed.
"Wait a second! What is all this?" asked Iruma getting a hold of himself.
"Well, you two are my first precious little grandchildren!" said Sullivan, "Your food, clothing, shelter and..."
Snap! With another sound of his fingers, Iruma now is wearing a blue suit with white trimming and a red bow securing his collar. Ryūko's outfit consists of a white short-sleeved sailor shirt with red trim, a red skirt, and a red bow tied around the collar.
"Wh-What is this?" Ryūko asked.
"Your education!" Said Sullivan as he happily clapped his hands, "You two look so perfect and adorable! I'm going to enroll you both in a demon school, along with your housemate. The best demon school there is."
"A demon school?" Iruma wondered aloud. "Is that a thing?"
"Hold on." Ryūko interrupted. "What do you mean by 'housemate'?"
"He means me." Said Isabelle as the twins turned around to see their cambion housemate.
"Iruma, Ryūko, allow me to introduce you to your housemate: Isabelle Abaddon." Said Sullivan. "She's the daughter of a dear friend of mine. Isabelle, these are my grandchildren: Iruma and Ryūko Suzuki."
"Hi." Isabelle waved at them and they waved back.
"Anyway, because of your lowlife parents, you both were forced to start working young and never got the chance to go to school." Sullivan cried before regaining composure, "But fear not! All the paperwork has been taken care of! I am your grandpa, remember?"
Ryūko seemed to giggle at his happiness towards her and Iruma before asking, "Can I just call you "grandfather" if that works, too?"
"Our grandpa?" Mumbled Iruma.
"I love how those sound when you say them." Sullivan shivered with joy as Ryūko seems amused by his behavior. "On the first day, we have to take a picture."
"Please slow down." Iruma said.
"There's never been a human being enrolled in this school, but you won't get eaten as long as they don't find out what you are."
"Well, that's gonna be hard for them. I mean, demons know what humans smell like." Isabelle pointed out the obvious.
"If they find out, they'll eat us?!" the panic-stricken twins asked as Sullivan douses them with perfume.
"This fragrance will cover up your human scents so you can stop worrying."
"U-Um...you know, it actually..."
"I'm so relieved that you're such good kids, Iruma and Ryūko." Said Sullivan while going another direction, "If you had declined. I'd have no other choice but to eat you both for dinner tonight."
This scared the heart out of the Suzukis. Sullivan asks if there was something that they wanted to say, but Iruma and Ryūko oblige that it's nothing.
Sullivan led Ryūko to another room next to Iruma's and snapped his fingers to make the room resemble Iruma's bedroom, but with a more gothic scheme.
"You, Isabelle, and Iruma get up early tomorrow for your first day." Said Sullivan patting Ryūko's head. "Make sure you get plenty of sleep. Goodnight."
"Yes, goodnight to you as well, Grandfather." Ryūko said before the door closes.
"Um... Lord Sullivan, tell me." Isabelle said before asking. "Why do you want these 2 here in the first place?"
"Well, when I heard about all the suffering they had to go through all their lives since their first steps, I decided to strike a deal with their parents in order not to let Iruma and Ryūko live with those deadbeats for longer." Replied Sullivan.
"I think I understand now. Those two really had it tough, didn't they? Anyway, see you in the morning, Sullivan."
"Good night, Isa." Sullivan said as the doors to Isabelle's room closed.
Sullivan happily walks down the hallway before being stopped by Opera.
"You take your whims much too far." the butler said.
"Opera."
"You could've adopted all the demons you wanted. Why would you adopt a couple of humans as your grandchildren? What could you possibly be up to?"
"Nothing really." Said Sullivan, "You'll understand someday, Opera. I'm so excited for tomorrow!"
Sullivan seemingly dodges Opera's objection and walks along the hallway as Opera is left to a sigh.
"I have my very own room." Said Iruma as he gazed around. "Never had that before. My whole life has just been hell, really."
He then put on some purple pajamas and tucked himself in.
"It's like a dream. A bizarre dream."
The next day, Iruma woke up and was hit with a realization.
"IT WAS REAL!" he exclaimed as Sullivan, Isabelle, and Ryūko entered his room.
"Good morning, Iruma." Sullivan greeted.
"Good morning to you, brother." Greeted Ryūko with a bow.
"Slept well last night?" Isabelle asked.
"Y-Yeah. What about you two?" Iruma asked.
"I slept really well. Wish I could stay there a little more, that was so cozy." Joked Ryūko with a smile.
"Me, too." Added Isabelle added.
After some preparations, it's finally time for demon school. Sullivan was quite peppy and excited for his two new grandkids. Isabelle was also wearing a new outfit.
"Why are you wearing that, Isa?" Ryūko asked. "Don't you have one like mine?"
"What are you talking about, Ryūko? This is my uniform. It's custom-made." Replied Isabelle.
"Oh, joy." Sullivan exclaimed. "My grandchildren and their housemate's first day of school! Picture time. Ryūko, Iruma, Isa, stand next to that."
He was referring to a green stand nearby with an unknown language on it. Sullivan solves their problem with another spell, the sign in the Suzuki twins' vision says "Entrance Ceremony".
Iruma made an awkward peace sign, Ryūko made a peace sign behind Iruma's head, Isabelle did a heart sign with her thumbs and index fingers, and Sullivan formed a six with his fingers as Opera takes a photo of them. Sullivan then jumps around with excitement saying: "Oh, I'm so happy! My grandchildren and their housemate's first day of school! Their first little bags! So innocent! So pure!"
Isabelle, Ryūko, and Iruma walked with Opera towards the school.
"Um... pardon me. You're Opera. Is that right or..." Iruma said before changing the subject about this school.
"Take a look." Opera said as he pointed at the school that looked like a castle at first glance.
"The renowned demon school." Sullivan said. "This is Babylus."
What amazes the three is the massive flock of demons flying to the school with black wings. Scary yet impressively cool sight on the first day.
"Wait." Iruma realized. "Why can't you fly like them, Isa? You are a demon."
"Yeah, but I'd prefer to stay on the ground anyway." Said Isabelle.
"I have to get ready so I'm taking off. Ta-ta." Sullivan informed them before leaving.
"What about you, Opera?" Ryūko asked.
"Have a lovely day, sir and madams." Opera took his leave before Isabelle, Ryūko, and Iruma went past four demons standing by the entrance.
"Hey, you three." One of them called out.
Remembering Sullivan's words from the previous night, Iruma tho that he and Ryūko would be found out and eaten, but no.
"To the auditorium." The same demon said while pointing in a certain direction.
"Oh, thank you. Sorry for the bother." Said Ryūko, being taken by the hand of a relieved Iruma.
"Thank goodness. They didn't figure out we're human!" Iruma to his sister. She agrees with a nod as they went to the auditorium.
Speaking of which, the auditorium is full of various demons of every shape and size. That doesn't make anything better for Iruma being frightened and all.
"What's that? Something smells delicious in here." One furry demon said to another one nearby.
'Eeeep! Don't stand out... Don't stand out.' The human boy thought with fright.
Ryūko ruffles her brother's hair before saying: "Don't worry, Iruma. Whatever happens, you have your elder sister and your housemate here by your side to guide and protect you."
"Just remember to keep your cool and your heads down." Isabelle said to them. "With that, we'll survive that first day here with no problems."
"Silence." A demon, who might be a teacher in the school, said to the microphone as all the students sat down, eyes on the stage.
Another demon, also a teacher, steps forward to the microphone.
"Thank you for waiting. It's 6:06 A.M. We will now formally begin the entrance ceremony for the demon school Babylus." Announced the teacher. Another demon, who supposedly is a senior classman, tells everyone to rise and sing the school song. Here's how it goes.
Humans only exist to be our food
Suck them dry, soul, blood, flesh, and all
Tremble at the sound of black wings as we take flight
For we are demons
As this song pours forth from our red lips
Scream for us, for we are demons
Quite a scary yet beautiful song to Ryūko's ears, despite it saying that demons are superior to humans. As for Isabelle, she can't but feel offended inside because she is part-human and that song is undermining that side of her.
"Next is a greeting from our director." Said the same teacher being the emcee.
Now, many are excited and saying that the director might be the next Demon King. Iruma is wondering if the Demon King rules over all demons and Ryūko states that he's right.
"Ryūko, Iruma, Isabelle!" a familiar voice called.
"Huh?" Blurted out Ryūko as she, Isabelle, and Iruma look up to the stage, seeing their grandfather/caretaker waving at them.
'No way! Lord Sullivan's the school director?!' Isabelle gasped mentally. This made all the other demons curious about them.
"Yes, indeed! My grandchildren and their housemate now attend this school! They're just so precious and adorable! I could just squeeze them until their eyes pop out!" Sullivan said.
"Huh, guess he's not wrong about his friends bragging about their grandchildren and him being jealous of them." Muttered Isabelle.
'Oh, no. Please don't embarrass us!' Iruma screamed in his head.
Sullivan then showed the photo of him, Isabelle, and the Suzuki twins a minute ago, "Look, it's me, my grandchildren, and their housemate!"
'F*** damn it! Our cover's blown up to every demon in this school!' Ryūko mentally cursed with a facepalm.
"Copies will be made for everyone later." Said Sullivan.
'I promise! Nobody wants that!' Iruma thought as he is now embarrassed.
"Okay, that's all I have to say so... Bye!" Sullivan finished before taking his leave.
"And now, we'll have a greeting from the new students' representatives." Said the emcee teacher.
Hearing that, two demons; a tall male demon with light pink hair wearing mostly white and a slightly shorter female cat demon with dark purple hair, matching external cat features wearing a lavender dress of armor; walk towards the stage.
"Aren't those the ones who scored the highest on the entrance exam?" Questioned a student.
"They got a perfect score!" Cheered another.
"Seriously? Are they geniuses?" Questioned another.
"The representatives of the new students, Asmodeus and Félin." the emcee announced.
The trio noticed that all the demon girls are fawning over Alice Asmodeus whereas more of the demon boys are swooning over Lavande Félin, some complimenting, some even wanting both representatives to curse them. Everyone's attention was shifting to them until...
"Huh? What's this? Giving the address in their places are... our honor students, Ryūko, Iruma, and Isabelle." The emcee rephrased so suddenly.
'Why?!' Yelled Isabelle, Iruma, and Ryūko in their heads. Sullivan sneakily gives them a thumbs-up.
'Figures. This has Sullivan written all over.' Isabelle thought as she noticed the aforementioned Chair-Demon from the corner of the stage.
'I knew it! We're finished!' the twins realized. Ryūko seems to look emotionless but inwardly is shocked by the sudden change of outcome.
"We should get up there." Ryūko whispered, "Otherwise, we'll be marked as suspicious."
Isabelle and Iruma nodded before the three make their way to the stage.
Many students noticed how both humans and their cambion friend are not even shaking with anxiety and say that they have guts. Ryūko inhaled and exhaled before making up her mind.
"Good morning to all new students of Babylus." Greeted Ryūko, "As demons, the pride of our race, regardless of physical, mental or emotional features, is the reason that we should all be proud of our race. However, to nurture yourselves further and to achieve a long-awaited grasp of your ambition, that is the reason we are all here enrolled to Babylus. For sure you are students, but that never changes the fact that you're still a demon; no matter whatever doubts or comments others may cast upon you. Don't think that school should be a place to leisure with friends; school should be a place of education, the education needed for our future and our ambitions. If you ask what do I want, I want to achieve the best of my years as a student. If you don't know where to start, then say nothing and follow my ambition!"
What a speech! Previously, Ryūko participates in debate and public speaking as she wants to gain the confidence to speak up towards others whether it's a speech or debate.
Everyone in the auditorium was applauding from Ryūko's speech, except for two particular demons; Asmodeus gritted his teeth in anger while Félin tells him to settle this once the ceremony is done.
Iruma, however, doesn't know what to say. Now how should he give a sufficient speech? Sullivan seems to be helpful as the back of the photo shows some writing translated from demon language to Japanese for them, which Isabelle noticed.
"Apparently, there are some last words for us to say." Announced Isabelle.
She motioned Iruma and Ryūko over, whispering that they would simultaneously read the text.
"Aberuhauke... Tarutoudari... Iusabebe... Risotouru... Aberuze... Sutoumanu... Aberuge... Uru... Mahoraba... Tsuruzaza..." the trio read out loud. During the reading of the words, the mood and atmosphere changed. But now everyone was shocked by the speech, then shouting in excitement which confused Iruma. Isabelle and Ryūko, on the other hand, suspected that it was an incantation.
"Hey, you three!" The emcee called, "You can't just go chanting forbidden spells like that!"
"H-Huh, what?" Iruma blurted.
"They're taboo and for good reason! If you were to stutter or read it wrong, your bodies could have exploded! That's just common sense!"
"Hey, it's the first time we've heard this!" Isabelle protested.
"H-How could we know it was so dangerous?!" Iruma stuttered with shaky legs.
"That stunt was foolish, reckless, and crazy... and unbelievably awesome, too!" The teacher said while giving a thumbs up. "Only a complete idiot would say that spell or an oblivious demon who doesn't know better or isn't afraid of dying."
"If it's alright to ask, what exactly are the effects of the spell?" Ryūko asked.
"If it works, it'll prevent you from tripping and falling for the whole day!" Answered the teacher.
'We read out a forbidden incantation for that? So worth it.' Ryūko thought with sarcasm.
Getting off the stage together, Isabelle, Ryūko, and Iruma got immediately confronted by the representatives of the new students.
"You may call me Alice Asmodeus." Introduced the tall male demon.
"And I, a female demon knight, go by the name of Lavande Félin." Introduced the cat demon in armor.
"Pleasure to meet you. I'm Ryūko Suzuki. This here is my brother born 4 minutes after me, Iruma Suzuki. And this is our housemate, Isabelle Abaddon. Said Ryūko with cold eyes of a ruby and a sapphire.
What happens next is unbelievable; the Suzuki twins and Isabelle were challenged to a duel in the school courtyard.
All the students were watching, which was unnerving for poor Iruma.
"A-Are we... going to be eaten?" Iruma asked his sister.
"No. The demons are challenging us to duel since we took their places on that speech." Ryūko whispered in his ear.
"We were supposed to deliver that school greeting." Asmodeus seethed with anger, "The punishment for thieving that spotlight from us both is most assuredly death! And since you three rudely stole our thunder, we reserved the rights to test your meddle and see if you are truly worthy of it. Agreed?"
Félin removes her sword from her scabbard, stabbing the ground before looking up to the twins with a rage.
"First and foremost, Sir Asmodeus shall battle thee, Sir Iruma. Then after, I shall have my duel with thy sister and housemate, Dame Ryūko and Dame Isabelle." Félin announced while pointing the tip of her sword to them as she states their names. "Yes, I am not to hold back even if my opponent is a lady."
Asmodeus tells her to wait with Ryūko and Isabelle at the side of the courtyard until his fight is done. Ryūko knows her fights but it gives good luck to Iruma before sliding to the side with Isabelle.
"Now, you only have mere moments to try and prove to me that you are superior to me... with your body!" Asmodeus yelled while firing his fire magic against Iruma.
The human boy however was dodging the demon's fireballs non-stop. For twenty straight minutes, Iruma managed to dodge every single attack. He and Asmodeus were visibly exhausted.
"What the hell?!" Asked Asmodeus. "I haven't hit you once!"
"I know! Sorry about that!" Iruma apologized.
How was such a feat remotely possible? In truth, it's because he's unfortunate. After being put through endless hell by his garbage parents, by default, he became a master of avoiding anything, whether dangerous, scary or painful, he dodged it all. He may have 0 offense, but his defense is infinite. If given a name, this rare power would be called Overwhelming Crisis Evasion Capability."
"For real, I'm sorry!"
"Iruma's amazing."
"He hasn't even tried to attack him yet!"
"Wait. Is he saying he's not worth his time?"
"Well, aren't they right? Am I so not worth attacking, you won't even bother?!" Asmodeus questioned with a glare.
"No, no, no, no, no, no, no! It's not you at all. I'm the unworthy bug here!" Said Iruma, trying to clear the misunderstanding.
But then again, the audience still falsely assumed that Iruma said that Asmodeus is less than a bug.
"That means you're less than a bug!"
"Run home to your mommy, you coward."
"Yeah, you tell him!"
Félin, Isabelle, and Ryūko can hear the conversation near the sidelines. Thanks to Félin's cat ears, she can hear what they're saying without bothering about the audience. The three girls sighed and facepalmed softly.
"Are they f****** stupid?" Ryūko groaned in exasperation.
"I suppose you are not wrong." Félin sighed while Isabelle nodded.
"I will not abide by this!" Asmodeus said before summoning a sword of fire. "If magic won't work, I'll just have to take you down using martial arts! Prepare for destruction!"
The fire demon was coming straight at Iruma, but somehow it looked as if he missed. Actually, Iruma can use his opponents' strength to parry their attacks; another part of his Overwhelming Crisis Evasion Capability.
Due to uncontrollable rage, Asmodeus keeps charging forward and was about to stab a girl who is too scared to evade. Iruma notices this and takes Asmodeus behind by the waist nearly falling. The female cat knight was readying her shield, but Isabelle and Ryūko stopped her from remembering the effects of the previous spell.
"Félin, wait! The spell Iruma and we chanted." Ryūko said.
"If it works, whoever chants it won't trip and fall the whole day!" Isabelle continued as Félin's ear perked up and remembers the spell as her shield fades in flower petals. Félin Lavande is a demon who is a master of plant magic, therefore she can manipulate plants.
Knowing the effects of the spell, Iruma arches backward still holding Asmodeus's waist, preventing him from stabbing the girl on accident. Those who witnessed the duel that day would later say...
"Yes, it was an absolutely perfect German suplex!"
Later after Iruma got up, he carries his opponent to... you can say the infirmary. Now it was the girls' duel.
Félin, Isabelle, and Ryūko gave each other good luck before taking their places. Since the three of them are good a combat and their powers, Félin decides to use her plant magic whereas Ryūko wants to use her spider-like abilities that were from her somewhat 'demon genes' while Isabelle plans on using her wings and magic gauntlets. The knight uses her powers summoning vines after the two girls, but Ryūko was fast and slung a silk strand to bring herself to a higher elevation to the roof, Isabelle flying to the same level. The two were dodging most of their adversary's attacks to find a weaker point.
"Man, her cat senses are stronger than a human's. What should we do?" Asked Isabelle to Ryūko.
"What if we trick her senses to save the attack?" Replied Ryūko, "Isabelle, think you can keep Félin busy? I got a plan."
"I'll try."
With that, Isabelle flew towards Félin and used her magic gauntlets to create a sound to disorient her hearing while Ryūko went inside the corridors of the area to hide and used her web-slinging as if she was making another move, but she can't be seen from her hiding.
The cat demon is now left confused but then the spider girl and cambion charged at her back with a flying kick and punch combo which made Félin hit the ground.
"How are you two... this powerful for your age?" Félin asked.
That's easily explained: With Iruma having zero attack points and infinite defense, Ryūko's attack points are 55/100 whereas her defense points are 45/100. Her strength is similar to a World Champion, karate master, etc., combined. As for Isabelle, she has been training with her dad in self-defense as well as the use of weaponry since she was 9. But that's nothing compared to when her mom trained her in using her bloodline magic: soul weapons, wherein she can conjure up a weapon using the energy from the souls of the netherworld. They can range from swords, axes, and flails but her most preferred soul weapon is the spear. With these moves as well as their combined wits, many would say that Isabelle and Ryūko are a formidable fighting pair.
Félin took her sword and charged at the two, only to miss their fast actions, and was about to stab two demon boys.
"Oh no, you don't!" Isabelle grabbed Félin by the arms and restrained her, before turning to Ryūko. "NOW!"
Ryūko ran up and grabbed Félin by the waist. The two girls worked together, performing a stupendous Dragon suplex on their enemy.
"Do you yield?" Isabelle asked Félin.
"I... yield..." Félin replied as she surrendered.
Everyone watching this was amazed. Ryūko and Isabelle then used their powers to clean up the damages before they brought Félin over to the infirmary.
The school made a big deal out of it. Iruma gave Asmodeus a concussion according to the school newspaper, Ryūko and Isabelle gave Félin one as well. The feats of the twins and their housemate were impressive and now these fights made them famous.
"'Chanting a Forbidden Spell at the Entrance Ceremony?!'"
"'Gave the Heads of the Class Well-Deserved Beating!'?"
"Behold! The Thoroughbred Punishments of Iruma, Ryūko, and Isabelle!"
"The honor students are insane!"
"I heard Iruma once saved a girl's life!"
"Ryūko and Isabelle saved two boys, too, you know!"
At the chair-demon's office, Sullivan was praising Ryūko, Iruma, and Isabelle wholeheartedly.
"I'd expect nothing less from my grandchildren and their housemate!" Said Sullivan with praise. "You have a bright future ahead! You two are so adorable! I just can't! You're too adorable!"
Iruma is now in a state of having a panic attack. Isabelle and Ryūko are standing on either side of him while reading the article about them.
"No, we don't!" Iruma said in a panicky tone. "What we did was completely awful! We have to apologize!"
"Iruma." Ryūko places her hand on Iruma's shoulder. "If they hear that we sent them to the infirmary, perhaps they'll take it as our apologies."
"Besides, I'm pretty sure they'll understand what we've been through." Isabelle added.
Speak of the devil... or, in this case, demons, Asmodeus slams the door open and enters to office.
"We apologize for barging in like that. Said Félin while following Asmodeus.
"Oh, it's fine. You two came at the right time." Replied Isabelle as if she was trying to lighten the mood.
"Hey, Asmodeus." Iruma stammered.
"Asmodeus, Félin..." Ryūko followed.
Iruma prepares if Asmodeus was going to do something to him, but Ryūko and Isabelle told him that it might be something different. They weren't here to fight at all. No, the demons drop on their knee before them.
"We are now at your service, Ryūko, Isabelle, and Iruma!" the two demons said firmly.
"This must be a part of demon customs." Ryūko whispered to Isabelle, who nodded and said, "Looks like it. We need to respect that, too."
"There is nothing we can say. We squarely and handily lost to you in our duels earlier. On top of that, we were informed that you both carried us to the infirmary." Asmodeus and Félin said, still on their knees. "We, Asmodeus and Félin, were moved far beyond what mere words could even express. Written demon law dictates that the defeated party must serve the victors. Therefore..."
After a few seconds of serious eye contact, appeals of loyalty were painted upon their faces.
"We pledge our fealty to you and will aid you in ruling over this school forever!" Asmodeus and Félin finished.
"What? Wait a minute. Hang on!" Iruma tried to say otherwise.
"First, you need servants so that's going to be the entire student body !" Asmodeus exclaimed as he and Félin stood up.
"Sir Asmodeus, please take it easy. This is all too much, even for me. Said Félin. "It is only the first day of school and they might not feel comfortable with this."
But Asmodeus doesn't seem to be listening.
"Ryūko, Iruma, Isabelle, who shall we slay first?" Asmodeus asked. "Your wish is my command."
"Say, can I make this the main picture on the school's website?" Sullivan asked.
"You've already embarrassed us far enough, so please don't." Isabelle replied.
Ryūko and Iruma Suzuki and Isabelle Abaddon, age 14. Enrolled at the demon school Babylus, have now acquired two subordinates.
~Interval~
Ryūko, Iruma, Isabelle, Félin, and Asmodeus are having a conversation in the school hallway. Félin and Asmodeus are extremely loyal demons, who are ready to help the Suzuki twins and their cambion housemate.
"My lieges! Please ask us to do anything!" Asmodeus said.
"Sure... but we don't need anything right now, thank you." Said Iruma to Asmodeus.
"That is well appreciated, but now, there's no task for us to give you both." Ryūko (with Isabelle nodding in agreement) said to Félin, who calmly asked to lay any given task to her if needed.
"I see. If there is anything required, do inform us and we'll be completing that task, Lady Ryūko and Lady Isabelle." Said the knight with a bow. Félin is a very formal knight, calling others by "Sir", "Lady", or other such honorifics to the people around her, including the teachers.
Eiko, Darris, and Acheron, the three demons Iruma, Isabelle, and Ryūko saved, are secretly watching the three.
"Iruma saved me from certain doom. I want to thank him and maybe get closer to him." Eiko said.
"I want to thank Ryūko for going the same for me, too." Darris continued.
"Same here with Isabelle. I will be forever grateful to someone like her." Acheron added.
"Irum-/Ryū-/Isa-"
Asmodeus turned his head around and Félin grabs the handle of her sword as if they feel there's a threat nearby.
"What was that? Something wrong?" Iruma asked.
"I felt a sinister presence nearby." Asmodeus said.
"Scary... Oh my gosh, they're so scary." Eiko said to herself while shivering with Darris and Acheron behind the corner.
"Might as well give them our thanks some other time." Acheron whispered.
"Got that right." Darris agreed.
Can they get close enough to Iruma, Ryūko, and Isabelle to thank them? You can do it, Eiko, Acheron, and Darris!
