Quirk

More than a century ago, humanity took a peculiar change, it was an evolution that altered their bodies comparable to that of the superpowered beings found in several forms of fictions.

From it's first occurrence and through time this evolution spread around the globe like a wildfire enveloping 80% of humanity's population, the remaining 20% retaining the norm of what they had before the new era of change.

When quirks became the norm of the society and the previous "norm" became "abnormal" another change came along with humanity's modernization.

And that is...

Chapter 1: Midoriya Izuku

"Hey!" a voice called out, the voice came from a blonde haired boy whose age not older that 5. The boy the blonde called out seemingly ignored him as he continues to walk on his way to his home.

"Are you ignoring me again?" The boy stopped at his tracks and turned around facing the blonde.

"I already told you, I won't fight you... Katsuki" the boy replied.

The one called Katsuki growled, staring at the boys eyes with malice "I've always hated those eyes of yours..." he replied.

"YOU'RE BELITTLING ME AGAIN AREN'T YOU!"

The blonde opened up his palms, smoke leaking out from it "But it's all going to change now..." the blonde grinned.

"What are you planning... stop it-" the boy stepped back as the blonde started dashing towards him.

"YOU FUCKING MONKEY!" the blonde maniacally smiled as he thrusts one of his open palms towards the boy, thinking nothing but exacting his wish fulfillment.

BAM!

The blonde boy passed out.

"What a mess..." the boy sighed looking at the blonde boy whose now lying unconscious at the ground.

[TIMESKIP]

Aldera Junior High - Class 3-A

"Okay, now that you're all in your third year now" The teacher announced carrying a huge stack of paper then putting it on his desk.

In other words, It is now or never that you should think of your future!" The teacher continued creating a tension to his class, his students began to prepare activating their quirks with the exception of two.

"I'm going to give all your handouts for your future plans now, but... pretty much of you are all planning to go in the hero course anyway" The tension slowly rises and when the teacher threw the handouts he previously held, the class with the exception of two showed off their quirks.

"Yes, yes you all have wonderful quirks!" The teacher commented at the sight.

"But using your power at school is against the rules!"

"Teach!" A blonde student raised his hand, gaining the attention of their teacher.

"Don't lump us all in the same group" The blonde student put his feet on his desk, his confidence oozing.

"I'm not gonna be stuck at the bottom with the rest of these rejects!" he mocked his classmates.

"That was uncalled for, Katsuki!" One student commented.

"Yeah, yeah!" The class agreed in Unison.

"You all should shut up like the extras you are!" Katsuki replied looking at his classmates as if they were clowns.

"Oh, if I remember correctly... you want to go to UA right Bakugo?" The teacher commented as he sifts through the papers in his desk and held Bakugo Katsuki's handout.

"UA? That national school?!"

"It was in the top 0.2 % this year, you know!"

"Their acceptance rate's always really low, too!"

"That's exactly why you guys are just extras!" Katsuki continued to mock and stood on his table.

"I aced the mock test!"

"I'm the only one at this school who could possibly get into UA" Katsuki pointed at himself, his confidence overflowing.

"I'll definitely surpass All Might and become the Top Hero!"

"My name will be inscribed on the list of top earners!" He stated with pride still standing on his table, he made a quick glance to one of his classmates... one that he considers as an obstacle to his lifelong dream.

"Speaking of UA... Midoriya also wanted to go to UA too right?" The teacher commented causing Katsuki to cool down, surprisingly to his classmates, the blonde sat back at his chair silently without uttering any curse words.

The statement gave Midoriya the attention of the class, the boy didn't mind the attention and just continued to mind his own business listening to the teacher. The class then shifted their gaze to Midoriya to Bakugo Katsuki whose now staring at Midoriya with a determined and serious look.

To Bakugo Katsuki, he gained his ambition to become the no.1 hero from his admiration towards the current no.1 hero All Might, ever since he was a kid, he hailed the no.1 hero as the best of bests.

But...

flashback

"He's really cool! All Might!" a young Bakugo Katsuki commented with awe as he watches All Might take down several villains on a television shown in an appliances store found on the street he and his fellow peers were walking on their way to home, one of those peers happened to be Midoriya Izuku.

"Beating those villains just like that, I want to be like him too" Katsuki smiles innocently as he continues to watch All Might subdues villains without shedding a sweat.

"I want to fight that person" One of his peers commented, agitated upon hearing it Katsuki began to look towards the one who said it, much to his surprise it was Midoriya Izuku.

From Katsuki's perspective, his peers of his age saw Midoriya Izuku as someone superior, due to his quirk showing up at an early age, still despite that Katsuki disregarded it and to prove his superiority towards the boy he challenged him to fistfight which he lost without the boy lifting a finger. At that time Katsuki thought that he only lost that fight because he doesn't have a quirk yet and because of that he waited for his quirk to come. When his quirk finally came, the day after he challenged Midoriya to a fight only to be ignored by the boy as he wanted no trouble from him, even so Katsuki pestered him day after day until one day he decided to screw it all and attack him, it was that day Midoriya fought back and it was that day Katsuki realized how small he was compared to the other boy.

"Hah? What did you just say you monkey bastard?" Katsuki grabbed Midoriya's shirt, annoyed of the fact that he felt like the boy just insulted All Might by saying of wanting to fight him.

"You want to fight him?" Something began to heat up inside Katsuki's gut, he didn't knew what it was but he knew it was all directed towards Midoriya, he tightened his grip towards the boy's shirt but despite all the aggression he gave towards him, it didn't made him flinch and again he felt insulted, humiliated and most importantly looked down by the boy.

Katsuki hated that feeling.

"Do you seriously think he would want to fight someone like you? HAH?!" Katsuki continued as he attempts to push Midoriya to a nearby wall but he couldn't as he doesn't have enough... power.

Powerless Katsuki stared at the Midoriya's eyes with hate and he saw him looking back at him unbothered as he usually is, Katsuki never felt so small that day, it was as if he was looking at the abyss as it swallows him whole.

He stepped back unknowingly, he couldn't shake off the feeling of powerlessness, that sensation he felt that day was something he will never forget.

To Bakugo Katsuki everyone around him is a pebble, a stepping stone for his ambition to become the very best hero. To do that he must surpass the current no.1 Hero, the one he idolizes the most but... even though he is aware of the path he's taken, he discovered something on his road that gave him a feeling of unease, something far more difficult than surpassing All Might.

Katsuki didn't want to admit it but something inside of him knew that surpassing Midoriya Izuku would be far more difficult than surpassing All Might.

To him the most challenging stepping stone he'll face...

Is the boulder they called...

Midoriya Izuku.
