I can't save you

Chapter One

Senior Field Agent Timothy McGee was shocked to see Marice Warren with her revolver in hand having shot the intruder into his head twice on the floor of the living room. Her hand was shaking as she held the gun.

She wasn't saying a word for the moment having to be in shock of sorts. As McGee asked on whether she alright or not. He waited for a few moments before she was able to speak. Placing on his blue gloves he bent down to check the older man's pulse having to be in his forties. His own weapon lying next to his body.

There was no life as McGee had gotten up from the body. "He's dead." he checked through his personal belonging to find out that he had a C.I.A. badge and I.D. and as to why he was here in the first place. "Special Agent Anthony Rizzioli on special assignment. These orders say that it was his job to look for any evidence against you and Special Agent Gibbs," he says.

"I don't understand why the C.I.A. would be coming after me as well?" she cried out with the response.

"Good question Marcie. Look we need to wait for the police to arrive since I will be calling them as with NCIS." McGee commented by pulling out his cell phone to bring up the Metro police main number. Call NCIS to have them send the coroner's van and Doctor Palmer if possible?"

"Sure. But I need to have Lucy taken care of first since she is scared hiding inside the kitchen and her bed. She is having nightmares unlike when she was shot in the field." she exclaimed with her nerves on edge.

"Yeah, I would like to have the police come to Special Agent's home in Alexandria. There has been shooting and a dead body Lt. Daniels." he quipped with his demeanor in full swing.

"I will be there in 20 minutes along with my partner. I will need to know just what the hell is going on Special Agent McGee?" he says before hanging up with grabbing his partner and his coat, along with his hat and gloves with the colder temperatures outside.

"Certainly," he said hanging up. "Marcie please sit down before you fall down?"

"I am feeling sick to my stomach all of a sudden. It's been acting up like this for the past week," she stated with the answer. Then she remembered that she and Gibbs had been involved sexually. The only way she will be able to find out is to go see her doctor. But at the moment it's not possible right now.

"Do you want me to make some tea to help it ?" McGee said with looking over at the body on the floor that had been covered.

"Please. Someone will need to call Jethro and let him know about what has happened at his house?" she suggested to McGee heading for the kitchen while hearing the sirens of the local police and other agencies.

Doctor Jimmy Palmer and his assistant had arrived quickly having gotten the word. They quickly carrying the equipment inside Gibbs having to be a normal thing during the past few years with dead bodies dropping in like a regular thing.

"Marcie are you alright?" he asked with grave concern with his demeanor heading for the body and with removing the white cover.

"OMG! It's Special Agent Rizzioll of the C.I.A." he said to have Marcie wondering how everyone knows him.

"How do you know him, Doctor Palmer?" she needed to know to write a story about it.

"He's been around during the past few years for when C.I.A. officer Clark was still alive before he was taken out by Mallory Madden right here in the same house."

McGee came over to bring the hot tea with hearing Palmer speaking, along with the rest of the Metro police barging in as well.

Lt. Daniels age 57 years old and with the department for 20 years had his pad in hand beginning asking questions. "Now would you mind why this man was here in the first place?" he asks.

"First of all Lt. Daniels, I came home from Special Agent Gibbs cabin with McGee and a few others protecting me from a threat. Anyway, we decided to come back home and I walked into the house along with Lucy our pet. When I saw a shadow moving in the back of the kitchen not bothering to tell me who he was before noticing that he had a weapon."

"And you just happened to have yours to come in handy?" he said with caution with his tone of voice.

"Yes. I carry it all of the time when I am writing or like at the cabin. I have a permit and license Lt. Daniels?" she responded with taking a sip of her tea with the sugar having been added as with the milk.

"Did he at any point tried to introduce himself to you?"

"Not at all Lt. Daniels. I was afraid for my life and I took the time to fire three times before he had the chance to do the same with me. However, finding out that he's a C.I.A. agent is beyond me as to why he's after me or Gibbs in the hospital."

Turning to face Doctor Palmer the medical examiner. "Doctor Palmer do you have a cause of death?" Lt. Daniels exclaimed with his question.

"At first glance, it tells me that the first shot was to the head and then the rest afterward. I won't know for sure until I get the body on the table to do the autopsy," he comments.

"I would like your report when it's done, Doctor. No doubt Director Leon Vance will what first dibs with the information since he's a C.I.A. agent and the entire agency will be on his case as to why a Washington Post reporter shot their agent?"
