Peter Parker had enough of having Tony Stark as a supposed mentor; he had been manipulated and effectively kidnapped by Tony Stark to go to Germany and fight his battle for him being vague about why he was having to fight Captain America and half of the Avengers. He would only find out later that part of the main reason why Iron Man was hunting down Team Cap as it were was because of violations of the Sokovia Accords so he was basically tricked into fighting for an international agreement that could be big trouble for superhumans like him.
Tony then ghosted him for some time, having to have Happy Hogan as a middle man who made it no secret that he didn't like getting messages from Peter. Neither Happy nor Tony looked like they were taking it seriously when he tried to warn them about the Vulture man and the dangerous weapons that they were selling on the streets. True things got out of hand on the ferry but was he supposed to be a mind reader and know that Tony took the information to the FBI? Would they have been able to handle the weapons and gadgets that they had? All Tony did was make it look like it was all below Avengers level grade and to it be someone else's problem.
He ended up in his old suit having to assemble his strength to get debris off him after taking care of the Vulture man who was Liz's father. He felt so sorry for her and her mother and so guilty about having to stand her up at the prom that she worked so hard to set up so that he could catch her criminal father.
In the coming months he ended up ignoring Tony and Happy's calls as he read about sightings of Cap and his associates, support for them and protesting against the Sokovia Accords grew and it led to a leak of the US Secretary of the State and basically head of the Accords panel Thaddeus Ross had done in his military days as well as how he was enforcing the Accords. The Accords were suspended and probably going to be done away with completely with Ross under suspension and the Avengers expected to return with full pardons which Peter was quite pleased with.
Aunt May had found out what had happened and wasn't happy with the secrecy or putting his life on the line but they managed to sort things out and Aunt May was now mostly just angry at Tony for what he had put Peter through. They had disassembled the Stark suit so Peter could use the parts for his own projects and they had made a new suit for Peter together.
Peter however had grown too attached to Karen so with Ned's help they had transferred her to a computer of Peter's. "You know Karen, I think that I chose the wrong name for you because you are far from a Karen." Peter told her and Karen had appreciated the joke.
Peter was nervous about a blood test being done at Midtown and he and Aunt May were dreading when they were being called in to discuss the results. It was far from they had expected as they were told they found a match in their records and were shocked to find that Peter had Tony Stark as a biological father.
They were stunned and asked to keep it a secret but the worker sheepishly admitted that they were sent by Tony to do Peter's test and hide any details that would show Peter's powers and the results were already sent to him. They were thankful for Tony doing this to keep Peter's secret but had apparently decided it was his place to give that secret to an employee of this and now Tony would know.
They had gotten home to comprehend this and Aunt May had revealed that she remembered before when Peter's parents were on a break from their engagement, Peter's mother had gone to a late night party being hosted by Stark Industries who was a business partner of her workplace. She had gotten home muttering about Stark treating her like used trash in the morning and she was pregnant with Peter not long afterwards.
That pretty much explained it and to their anger the story was leaked to the public and they had a pretty good idea why especially since it was accompanied by an interview of Tony saying it was such happy news with how he was working with the kid in his internship with him anyway. They had been ignoring his messages while trying to go about their normal days as best as they could be. Peter barely found time to hide and change into being Spider-Man. Peter was followed by reporters to school and had students asking about whether the Stark internship was just a cover and teachers did their best to restore order. Reporters were asking if he was going to be the next Iron Man or if he was the new heir to Stark Industries.
Peter and Aunt May finally gave a message to Tony saying they wanted to meet up for a serious private talk, Tony replied saying to meet them at the Avengers Facility. They were both silent when Happy Hogan arrived to take them by limo and were stunned to see the reporters at the Facility with Tony at the podium.
"Here is my boy here with his hot looking aunt." Tony said at a podium with them fuming, did he purposefully ignore the parts about them wanting a serious private talk?
"What the hell Mr Stark, we wanted a private talk..." Peter muttered racing towards Tony with a glare as Aunt May was following him. Tony just put a hand on his shoulder and posed for the cameras with a smile.
Peter tossed the hand away as they saw Steve Rogers in civilian clothes come over "enough Tony, you are overwhelming the kid and I don't think he wanted a spectacle when he agreed to talk to you." Steve told Tony sternly before smiling at Peter. "Nice to meet you Queens and you too Mrs Parker, sorry about the welcome that Tony set up for you." Steve told them flashing a smile and they returned at the man who had basically replaced Tony as Peter's favourite Avenger. Peter's eyes widened when he called him Queens and he guessed that Steve had pierced it together on his own.
"Just because you won out against the Accords and were allowed to come back and be head Avenger doesn't mean that you can bother my boy Capsicle." Tony told Steve with a glare and then went to Peter's ear, "ignore the old man and we can discuss you ignoring me for months as well as ditching the suit privately." Tony whispered into Peter's ear.
Peter however decided that if Tony wanted this to be a spectacle then he would have one, Peter pushed past Tony and shook Steve's hand and with a loud clear voice said "big fan Captain Rogers sir, glad that you defeated the unconstitutional Accords and returned with the others. The Avengers are not really the Avengers without you." Tony asked Peter what he was doing as the reporters were already thinking of the stories they would write, Steve flashed Tony a look that said 'you were basically asking for this'.
Peter went to leave but Tony stopped him and Peter faced the reporters and told them through the microphone "I wanted to half a private talk with him but he turned it into a circus. Surprised how eager he was to accept me as my son since before he barely paid attention to me in my internship. Shunted me off to his assistant who treated me as an unwanted inconvenience and would only pay attention to me when it was to tell me off for my mistakes which were caused by him not sharing information or not taking me seriously." Peter felt like he was on a roll and said "I have quit the internship now and don't want anything to do with being part of the Stark family. My Uncle Ben and my Aunt May are the only parents I ever really know and I don't need Tony Stark to replace any of them."
Peter went to run off but Tony tried to tell him to stay and that he wanted to sort things out but Peter thought of something below the belt and childish but considering what Tony had put him and his family through... "I am sure that you can find another illegimate child to be your heir." Peter told him walking off. He would always have a soft spot for Tony as a hero growing up and getting to see him as a kid at the Stark Expo but he didn't want to deal with the man himself for the foreseeable future.
"I feel like I should tell you off but I can't help but say how proud I am of you Peter." Aunt May told him with a smile before facing Tony. "We will have an actual private serious talk later but I know you are going to be busy for the foreseeable future with your PR team." Aunt May said as she and Peter had Happy Hogan drive them back.
Thanks to Anti Team Cap and Tony Stans, my opinion of actual MCU Tony has soured and the promising idea of Tony mentoring Spidey has turned me into being annoyed when I look at a story with Irondad in the tags. True he has made plenty of his mistakes and Far From Home showed that he didn't actually learn from his mistakes about Ultron. I still like Tony as he is funny and I do think he means well even if he doesn't really think his actions through. My idea for this fic was what if Peter actually was Tony's biological son but didn't find that out until after he had cut ties with him. In an actual Irondad story they would make up but this is not that story. Plus I remember seeing one story before the MCU Sony deal of TASM Peter having Tony as a biological father as a one night stand as well.
Please don't read this if you are a Tony Stan but sometimes they ignore tags. You are all free to your opinions about characters in fandoms but by the same token we are free to have opposite opinions. Let me state for the record if any still reading for some reason: the police chase in Civil War was Steve trying to save the officers who were sent on orders to KILL ON SIGHT as he was trying to save Bucky from them. As he said if Bucky really was far too gone then he would be the least likely one dying trying to stop him. Am I the only one who remembers during the climax of Winter Soldier, Steve telling Bucky that he will bring him down if he has to stop Project Insight. Steve didn't burn the world or 117 countries to save Bucky. He was never against accountability either as he clearly said that there would have to be safeguards and the point Ross ignored when Rhodey brought it up. They would need to have them ironed out before signing anything because who here thinks it's ever a good idea to sign a contract or document first and hope to change things later?
Plus guess what I was putting in my DVD of the live action adaptation of the late Sir Terry Pratchett's Colour of Magic and the beginning actually had me realise, are there any flat-earthers who became convinced thanks to the Discworld books? What does this have to do with the story? Nothing, I just wanted to point this out. To any Discworld fans I just want to say for what you had to go through if you happened to watch the Watch on BBC America (funny enough it hasn't come here to BBC UK). Basically it was to be a fantasy version of CSI but the end result has been pretty much disowned by Sir Terry's daughter as having any sort of DNA left with her father's work.
While I am rambling in the author's note about subjects having no connection to the actual story, want me to explain my theory of how the Amazing World of Gumball is in the same universe as one of my fave adult oriented cartoons ever Aqua Teen Hunger Force?
