Wisdom of Nol

It was just a normal day in the Titans Tower. Raven was in her room, Cyborg and Beast Boy on the roof playing volleyball and Robin was on patrol, leaving Starfire alone in the common room, feeding one of her Tamaranean puddings with mustard to Silkie.

Then a noise appeared from the main computer. Starfire went to the computer and noticed that someone is making a phone call to them. Normally Robin or when he was not nearby Cyborg would answered the phone but now she was the only one in the room she didn't really know what to do since she never answered any phone calls before.

After a few moments of hesitations she picked up the phone and answered it. "Yes, this is Starfire of Teen Titans speaking."

"I'm Jason Blood. I would like to speak a Titan called Raven. Is she available?"

"Friend Raven? I think that she is. Do you have a few moments? I will see if she can speak with you."

"Thank you."

Starfire went to Ravens room and knocked on her door. After a moment the door slightly opened, reveling half of Raven's face. "Yes?"

"Friend raven, there is a phone call for you in the common room. The person his name is Jason Blood."

Raven's eyes widened a bit after hearing that name. "Did he tell you what he want?"

"He wish to speak with you for reasons he did not mentioned."

Raven glared down for a brief moment before looking up. "Fine, I'll go." She left the room and followed Starfire.

Once in the Room Raven picked up the phone. "Hello."

"Good afternoon, Let me introduce myself, I'm Jason Blood, expert in occult."

"I know who you are. I've read about you."

It was silence for a moment. "I had my suspicious that someone had written about me."

"What do you want?"

"I have heard that you have an interesting collections of books, am I correct?"

It was Raven's turn to be silence for a moment before a glare appeared. "Batman told you?"

"Yes. He was quite impressed that a girl of your age could possess an impressive collections of… interesting books."

"And?"

"If you let me, I would like to have a look at it, share my thoughts with you and perhaps even buy one of it for any price you want."

Raven's eyes widened. She was beyond shocked and became angry. Not only at the bold question but more at the idea of her privacy being invaded by some stranger in her room and losing one of her books in the progress. Lots of objects in the common room had turned black, causing Starfire to flee with her oversized larva, afraid that the entire room would explode.

She closed her eyes in order to calm herself when hearing a few popping noises around her. After she calmed herself her attention went back to the phone, knowing what to say. "I have to tell you that my books are not for sell. In fact, no one come into my room. I've made that mistake once, I am not making that again."

"Forgive me for my question, it was a bold move. Is there a way to have a meeting on your own terms?"

Raven was in thoughts, the latest question was a decent one after all. "Maybe one day, but not at this moment."

"I understand. If you ever need advice or just want a meeting with me you only have to call me on this number."

"I'll keep it in mind." She wanted to know more. "Did Batman told you more about me?"

"He told me about you and your powers. I've met several magicians, witches and sorceresses before and as he describe your powers, only a few of them were that powerful. Very impressive I must say, especially for a person with her heart on the right place."

It was touching, but she didn't really needed it. "I'm not exactly looking for compliments or being praised. I just feel content by doing something good with my powers. It's pointless to harm other people and doing nothing with my abilities is nothing but a waist."

"That is a good statement. The world would be a much better place to live on if more people share your view."

She couldn't agree more, but at that moment she wanted to read a spell books which had a very promising story in it. "I agree. Now if you excuse me, I have more matters at hand."

"Off course. Although this call is rather short, I must say that I am pleased with it. I hope that we can resume our conversation in a more suitable circumstances."

Raven had to admit that despite that bold question that she was content with the phone call. Jason seemed to be a decent person and she was thinking that they could have a nice meeting in the near future. "Likewise. I let you know when I'm available for a meeting."

"I'm looking forward to. I'll see you then."

"Good bye."

She hung up the phone and took a look around her. The room didn't exactly looks the same when she entered. Several light bulbs and a few cousins of the couch were exploded, some windows were cracked and one game controller changed into a useless molten piece of garbage.

"Right."

She started to clean up the mess by throwing all damaged objects in the garbage container down in the garage and went to the roof. Cyborg and Beast Boy were still playing volleyball and Starfire looked at the game with interest with Silkie in her hands. Cyborg decided to end this set by jumping high as he smashed the ball just over the net on the right side while Beast Boy had no chance to react when he was still of the left.

"Boo-Yah! Two to one! Looks like you're gonna lose again Grass Stain."

"Oh yeah?! I've still a chance to win!"

Cyborg noticed Raven on the side line. "True, but let's have a break." He went to her. "You're alright?"

"Somewhat. I want to inform you that several things had broken. The couch, a couple of lights and a few cracked windows."

Cyborg was surprised by that little damage after hearing from Starfire that almost every object in the common room had turned black. "That's all?"

"No, you lost your game controller."

"What?!"

Beast Boy started laughing making Cyborg more enraged. "Raven! Are you serious?! I mean, c'mon, how could ya do that?!"

"I wasn't in control of my emotions. Now stop complaining, it was only a replaceable piece of hardware."

Cyborg give in, knowing that she was right. "Fine, I'll buy a new one. I'd hate when BB's beating me with a new high score in all games."

Starfire joined the two. "Friend Raven, May I ask you what you makes you losing your emotion earlier in the common room?"

A glare appeared on Raven's face. "Batman told someone about my collection of books and that person offered me to buy one of it."

The rest of the team just looked at her. "O-kay… that kinda explains. So, what happened next?" Cyborg asked.

"Nothing. After I rejected his offer he apologize and we ended up with a decent talk."

"So… you let him live?"

"Yes. Now if you excuse me, I need to meditate." With that Raven left the roof.

Beast Boy scratched the top of his head with his gaze on the roof entrance. "You know, I've always thought that Raven likes her books more than anything else, but that was just creepy."

Cyborg and Starfire only nodded.

Many things happened during the following week. Malchior seems to be trapped inside the book that Raven was reading. He told her that he was the wizard and was being trapped by the dragon and slowly gaining her trust and affection in the progress. She freed his physical form but he was only shrouded in the pages of the book. He taught her his knowledge and she started to have feelings towards him, causing her cloak and her leotard to become a lighter shade of blue before it became all white.

Once Raven broke the curse, she realized to her horror that she had unleashed the dragon who lied to her and deceived her from the very start by swapping the names in the book. During the short battle with the other Titans she had learn the curse and used it to trap the dragon inside the book again. Heartbroken, she retreated inside her room till Beast Boy talked her out of it, finding comfort with him until they were irrupted by Cyborg and his game of stank ball in which she took part of it.

Robin watched them playing the newfound game of stank ball with mixed feelings. Happiness towards Raven who was having fun with the teammates, but also disgust because of the awful smell of that ball of laundry. Since Raven could use some distraction he decided to let them play. Even Starfire didn't know what to think of it. After smelling the 'ball of dirty clothing' from a distance she decided not to join the 'highly unsanitary game'.

It was late in the evening. Beast Boy, Cyborg and Starfire went to their rooms, leaving Raven alone in the common room with her cup of tea. Her thoughts went to Malchior who had lied to her since the beginning. She believed him, trusted him, she was happy with him and had feelings she never had before. She closed her eyes as she shook her head, mentally calling herself stupid and naïve.

She took another sip of tea when Robin walked in. They exchanged looks for a brief moment and Robin who had a thin smile on his face went to the kitchen to get a glass of soda before joining her on the table.

Raven noticed that he still had that smile on his face. "Is there something that amuse you?"

"You throwing laundry at the boys."

That made her smile, especially how Robin puts it. "They came up with it, telling me that the hot new game they made up was America's fastest-growing sports sensation." She saw a funny look on his face. "Don't tell me. I only got involved when Beast Boy got hit by that wad of malodorous clothes while he tried to comfort me."

Robin's smile went wider. "That's very tempting for sure. I guess that you hit them in the faces multiple times."

Raven's smile turned into a devilish grin. "Definitely."

"But you got hit too for at least once, you smell like it."

"Four times. And now that you're mentioned it, I still need a shower."

"At least you had some fun."

"I did. A shame that you didn't join in."

Robin looked uncomfortable. "And being hit by that dirty clomp made of Beast Boy's socks and underwear? No thank you."

Raven's eyes widened as she visibly paled. She had never thought about that. Cyborg didn't had any clothing, none of the team members would ever dare to sneak into her room, Robin's room was also left alone after they all wore his costumes and were caught when he returned from the True Master and Starfire only wears pink and purple, leaving only one person. It took a few moments when she got on her feet. "I'm going to take a shower. I'll see you in a half an hour, assuming that you are still awake."

Robin managed to hold his laughter. "I'll see you then." After she left he couldn't help but laugh.

True to her word Raven returned within half an hour, feeling much better now that she washed off Beast Boy's smell and dirt from her body. Robin had still a grin on his face. "You feeling better?"

"Physically, Yes. Mentally, I just can't get rid of the thought of having Beast Boy's underwear in my face."

Robin suppress his laughter. "And that's exactly why I didn't join you with that game."

Raven rolled her eyes as she went to the kitchen. "How thoughtful." She made a cup of tea and joined him at the table who still had a hard time to hold his laughter. She glared at him. "I see that you are still enjoining it. Too much for my taste."

It took longer that he wanted to calm himself to talk normally. "Sorry, can't help myself."

She was still annoying at the idea of being laughing at but she could see his point. "Right."

"At least you had some fun. Especially after what happened."

Raven's gaze went to her cup. "I know. I's just…" She didn't know what to say.

Robin saw her face and her struggle to find the right words but he could place himself in that situation. "It's a way to distract yourself from the pain you had and still have. It isn't something small. He hurts your feelings and leave you heartbroken. No-one deserve it, especially you Raven. If you want to talk about it, we are here to listen to you and ready to help you with whatever you want."

Raven sat there speechless while staring at her cup of tea. After a few moments she finally looked up at Robin. He saw the heartbroken look on her face. He got op to sit next to her and put a hand on her shoulder for comfort, not wanting to invade her private space too much.

To his total surprise she instantly dropped on his shoulder and hold him for dear life. Robin didn't knew how to react at first but then he place his arms around her and rubbing her back. A sob sounded from her following by an explosion. Robin ignored the noise around him as he kept rubbing her back and whispered that it was okay to cry and letting herself go.

It took several minutes when she finally calmed herself and slowly pull herself away from him. She put her hood over her to hide herself from the world after she let her emotions go. Robin was a bit disappointed that she put her hood up but was somehow relieved that she was able to let her emotion go for once. When he noticed that she had calmed herself he dared to ask her a question. "Are you feeling better now?"

Raven turned to meet Robin's eyes. "Somehow. I don't know what happened but I do feel a bit more at peace."

Robin nodded with a thin smile on his face. "I know the feelings. It will take a while to recover from it. It might sound stupid or crazy to you, but in a case like this, it's better to let your emotions go for once, no matter how strong your powers are related to it."

She was about to object but she could see the logic of his explanation. "Robin, I want to thank you and the others of being good friends. You in particularly."

He put a hand on her shoulder. "That's what friends do."

She accepted his small embracement and nodded with a thin smile. It took a few moments with their own when she finally glanced around. She let out a sigh.

"Right."

Robin raised an eyebrow before glancing around him. Multiple objects in the room and the kitchen were far from recognizable, including a dinner table, the coffee table, the couch and the PlayStation. A small smile appeared when he turned back to her. "Don't worry, Cyborg and I can fix it before Beast Boy's awake."

"If you say so."

There was one question Robin wanted to ask for a while but didn't date to ask it till that point. "So, what are you going to do with that book?"

She glanced down at what was left of her cup and the pool of cooled tea spread over the table. "I don't know. Maybe finding someone to keep it safe."

He was in thought about it. Thinking about the right person who would be able to keep the book safe for the rest of the world for eternity. At least for decades that is. She could do it but she was already affected by it. He knew Zatanna a little but was not sure that her powers were great enough to combat the dragon if needed. He could ask Bruce but that was unfamiliar terrain, leaving only one person in mind, a person who was an expert in occult, sorcery and mythical creatures, befriend with Bruce and allied with Batman. "I don't know what you're thinking but I think that you could make contact with Jason Blood."

Raven was in thought as well. She briefly remembered her phone call with Jason a couple of weeks ago and she was ready to take his offer to talk about the book. "I think that you're right. I'll call him tomorrow morning, making an appointment."

"Anything else?"

"Just make sure that the others aren't nearby, I don't like to see them nose around in my books."

"I understand. It's your privacy being invade."

"That too, but it's too dangerous to read it when you don't know what you're doing. For you however, I want you to be with me when I make the call, you know him better than I do."

Robin eyed her. "Are you sure?" After a nod he accepted her wishes. "Seems fair enough. Alright, I'll think of something to keep them occupied."

"Thanks."

After Raven took a shower the next morning she didn't went to the common room as usual but went for Robin's room instead. She knocked on the door and in a moment it opened. "Good morning, I've been expecting you." He stepped aside to let her in.

She raised an eyebrow. "You did?" She went in his room before the door closed.

"If there's one moment to make a call without being disturbed by the others, it's early in the morning. Besides, it's four hours later in Gotham City."

She did want making the call before the others were awake and the time differences did cross her mind. "Not only that, I want to make things in motion. The sooner we start, the sooner I get rid of that book."

Robin had already set everything ready for her to made the call, he even had the phone number ready on the desk. When she took the phone he hold his headphone up. "Are you sure that you want me to listen with you?"

"Positive." She dialed the number on his phone as he put on his headphone. Soon enough the call was answered.

"Hello."

"Jason Blood, This is Raven. I would like an appointment about a transfer of one of my books."

"That can be enraged. Care to tell me which book we are talking about?"

She was in thought for a moment. She didn't want to be bothered by further questions. On the other hand, she wanted to move forward. "The wisdom of Nol."

It took a few moment before Jason replied. "I see. I assume that you don't want to talk about your change of mind."

"No."

"I understand. I can be in Jump City in three days at the earliest."

"At the earliest?"

"I can try to be sooner, but that means that I have to call a friend of mine. I'm also dependable of his schedule."

"Batman?" She asked with a slight annoyance in her voice with didn't go unnoticed by Robin.

"No, Bruce Wayne."

Both Robin and Raven exchanged their looks, the latter more surprised than the former. He made a nod of approvement.

"I understand."

"I'll let you know when I'm able to speak with you in private."

"I'd appreciate it."

"Have a nice day."

"Good bye."

Raven ended the call and both placed the phone and headphone on the desk. They were clearly in thought about the possibility of Bruce Wayne heading their way. Raven turned to Robin. "What can we expecting from him?"

Robin knew what person she was referring to. "No idea. I think it's for the best that we keep it plain and simple. He is a business man after all. Besides, you have to know that he's the one who financed the construction of Titans Tower and the maintenance costs."

"He did that? I've always thought that it was a gift of the city and its communities."

A grin appeared on his face. "That's what I let you think in the hope that you guys will be careful with the Tower and its interior."

"In which we do such a great job," she deadpanned.

Robin shrugged. "Things happened, and about last night, I can't blame you."

"Right. I suggest that we start cleaning up before Beast Boy's awake."

Robin nodded before they left his room.

Cyborg went in the common room and heading for the kitchen. He didn't pay attention at the great numbers of shards on the counter and on the floor and get a glass of milk. After the first one he poured his glass full for the second time and placed he milk back in the refrigerator. He went for the couch but only to find out that is wasn't there but all over the place instead.

"What the…" Now fully awake he took a better look at his surroundings.

Several windows were cracked or broken, some light spots were gone and huge crack run all across the control panel on his left. The couch, the coffee table and one of the two dinner tables were nothing more than pieces of debris which were all over the place and the kitchen was all covered with shards of glasses and dishes.

It looked like a hurricane went through the room.

His attention went to the TV and the PlayStation. To his relieve the TV was untouched but then he dropped his glass of milk on the floor which shattered on impact and both his hands went to the top of his head when he discovered to his horror that there was nothing left of the PlayStation and its controllers.

"No! Not the PlayStation!"

He run to the broken piece of hardware in the hope that he could fix it. With a large piece of metal and plastic in his hands he found out that it was far from repair. He dropped on his knees as his head went up, crying out in desperation.

"Nooooo!"

"I should've known that he would react like that."

Cyborg turned around to see both Robin and Raven standing in the middle of the room. Letting his frustration out he turned to Robin who made that comment. "Are ya telling me it was you who made a mess of the PlayStation?!"

"No," Raven simply answered.

"Then what happened?!"

"I wasn't in control last night. Now stop complaining and help us cleaning the room before the others are awake. Beast Boy in particular."

"Oh, now you care about him?! How 'bout me huh?! Ain't I mean nothing to ya?!"

"Nothing more or less than him. Are you going to help us to clean up the mess or do you want to continue and cry like a baby."

Cyborg let out a sigh. "Fine, I'll help." He propped the parts of the PlayStation and his glare met the two again. "But you guys leave the PlayStation as it is."

Robin raised an eyebrow. "Why?"

A grin appeared on Cyborg's face. "I wanna see Beast Boy's face when he want to play a game."

Both Robin and Raven exchange looks for a moment before a grin appeared on her face. "It would be fair to let him suffer as much as he did."

Robin shrugged. "I guess you're right."

"Duuud! Nooooo!"

"Friend Beast Boy, is there something not in place?"

"The PlayStation! It's broken! Damaged! Destroyed! Blown apart in tiny pieces! There's nothing left of it and far beyond repair! What happened to it?!"

"Now you see that things are different?" Cyborg asked, referring to the fact that the couch, the coffee table and one of the two dinner tables were missing.

Beast Boy who sat on the floor turned around to glare at a group who sat around the only table left in the room. "Who cares! It's the PlayStation! It's broken!"

"You've already make it clear. No need to repeat it," Raven said.

"But, what happened?!"

"Raven lost control of her emotions last night. After what happened earlier, I can't blame her," Robin pointed out.

"But why the PlayStation?!"

Raven shot him a glare. "Beast Boy, I wasn't in control. Now you stop complaining or the TV will be next."

Beast Boy turned back and his gaze went up to the large widescreen TV which stood in full glory above him. His ears dropped when the thought of an exploding TV in his face went through his mind. After a few moments his head dropped as he let out a sad sigh. "Fine, whatever you want." He went on his feet and slowly dragged his feet to the door. "I'll be in my room. There's nothing to do here without the PlayStation."

The others watched him leaving the room. After a whole minute of silence Cyborg busted out in laughter. "Oh, man! His face! That was hilarious!"

"Totally worth it," Raven grinned.

Robin and Starfire joined the laughter.

The doorbell went off and before anyone could respond Beast Boy jumped off the brand new couch and went to the door. "I'll get it!"

Robin and Raven exchanged looks for a moment, the former shrugged. "I wonder how he would react when he find out who's outside."

"Let's just hope that he won't make an embarrassing mess down there," she replied as she put her hood up.

Meanwhile Beast Boy was already downstairs, opened the front door and let his jaw nearly hit the floor. In front of him were two man, he couldn't recognized the red headed man carrying a black briefcase but the other person was the one and only billionaire playboy Bruce Wayne.

"Good afternoon. I'm Bruce Wayne and this is Jason Blood. We have an appointment with Robin and Raven."

"Uhm…" Beast Boy had no idea how to handle this unexpected situation. He didn't knew that Robin and Raven would expect some visitors, let along the famous billionaire Bruce Wayne. He awkwardly raised his hand. "Hi. I, uhm…"

Both Bruce and Jason exchanged looks before turning their eyed back at the very uncomfortable green skinned teenage boy. "I hope that you don't mind our visit," Bruce said.

He shook his head, clearing his mind. "No sir, not at all. Please come in, I'll lead you to them."

"Thank you…" Bruce didn't move but kept his gaze on Beast Boy.

It took a moment before Beast Boy took the hint. "Oh, uhm, Beast Boy." He stood attention while saluting. "At your service sir."

Bruce nodded. "Thank you Beast Boy."

Beast Boy let the man in and it didn't took too long before they entered the common room. "Uhm, Robin, Raven, Bruce Wayne and…" He turned around to face Jason. "Sorry sir, what was your name again?"

"Blood, Jason Blood."

"Right." He turned back to the rest of the team who were all sitting on the brand new couch. "Bruce Wayne and Jason Blood are here."

Both Raven and Robin got on their feet to meet the two man while both Starfire and Cyborg gaped at the famous Bruce Wayne. Robin extended his hand to the two visitors. "Mr. Wayne, Mr. Blood, welcome in Titans Tower."

One by one the visitors took his hand and replied with a "thank you Robin."

"Let me introduce you to the rest of the Team," Robin said as he took a step aside as he gesture to the rest of the team. "He is Cyborg, she is Starfire, you've already met Beast Boy and this is Raven."

Jason was only interested in Raven but nodded by each name nonetheless. Bruce on the other hand seems to be more interested in the whole team. "It's nice to meet all of you in person."

Starfire flew to them, ready to shook their hands which they accepted. "Yes, I am very delight to meet the two of you. Especially you Bruce Wayne, I have read a lot about you and your interests in female companions."

Robin made a facepalm and Raven turned away from the scene while Cyborg and Beast Boy visibly flinched. A grin went across Jason's face while Bruce instantly looked very uncomfortable and didn't knew how to react. "Uhm… thanks…?"

Robin dropped his arm and shook his head. "I'm sorry about that, she reads the tabloids." He briefly glared at Starfire. "A lot."

Jason clearly find this situation humorous and placed a hand on Bruce's shoulder for mock support. "I'm sure that you can't blame her. I mean, she is a teenage girl after all."

Bruce shot him a glare. "I know. I just didn't expected it from a girl from another planet."

"If the two of you are done, I would like to go into business."

Every person in the room gazed at Raven who had her arms folded across her chest. She noticed the looks during the awkward silence and she inwardly growled. "Please."

Bruce had a small grin on his face as he remember his first encounter with her as Batman. "Off course."

Robin took matters in hands and turned to his team members. "Titans, Raven and I are having a private conversation with our visitors. Cyborg, I'll you put in charge and I trust you to go on patrol, keeping an eye of the city and its people."

Cyborg nodded. "Don't worry Rob, we'll take care of it." He went to the door followed by Beast Boy and Starfire.

"Yes, I am sure that the people of Jump City are in need of any form of our assistance."

Beast Boy had a grin on his face. "Not to mentioning the ladies who need some assistance by crossing the street for example."

The door closed behind them and the voice of Cyborg was hearable but far from clear. Raven rolled her eyes as Robin slightly shook his head which didn't go unnoticed by both Bruce and Jason.

Bruce took a brief glance at the door where the rest of the Titans went through before turning to Robin. "It seems that you have… interesting team members to say at least."

Robin shrugged. "I can't blame them, they're kids, aside from Cyborg... well… mostly. But I've trained them and they know what to do."

Jason raised an eyebrow. "You have trained then?" After a nod he continued. "But what about you?"

Robin let out a sigh. "Batman trained me after I lost my youth years ago. As for Raven, she never had a youth."

Jason grimly nodded. "I'm sorry to hear that."

Raven spoke up before Robin could. "Don't be. We don't always like it but it's how it went. We can't change the past but we can learn from it and make the best of our lives."

They all nodded in agreement as both Bruce and Jason were impressed. "Wise words for someone of your age," Jason said.

Robin spoke up as he gesture to the couch before Raven could made a remark. "Please take a seat. We have a lot to discuss. Do you like to have some drinks?"

"A coffee please," Bruce replied, receiving a nod from Robin who was already in the kitchen.

"One coffee for me too please," Jason said.

He followed Raven to the couch, put his briefcase on the coffee table as took a seat. The half circular couch surrounding a small round coffee table did remind him of the Round Table when he was a knight back in the days of King Arthur, where all were equal to one other.

Raven noticed the mood in Jason and started to wonder what made him happy but sad at the same time. She decided to let it be because she had no idea how much Bruce or Robin knew about his past.

It took a minute when Robin appeared with three cups of coffee and one of herbal tea. When everyone got their drinks he took a seat. "I'm glad that the two of you can make some time. As a leader of team, I know that it isn't easy to do so, especially when you have to run a global company."

"Normally I would stay in Gotham City, but when Jason told me the situation I can't let it pass aside," Bruce said.

Raven raised an eyebrow. "Like what?"

"I have told him that you have a book of which you no longer want in your possession because of safety matters. Not just for you or your team, but for every living being on this planet." Jason explained.

Bruce continued. "When he told me that he can keep the book safe from the rest of the world I need to be sure that I can provide him with any needs during our trip."

"For someone who have plenty of financial resources, it sound fair enough." Raven let out a sigh. "I just want to get rid of it, so if you want to excuse me, I'm going to get it." Without waiting for any response she went up and moved to the door.

Once Raven left the room Bruce went to Robin. "Now since we are alone I would like to use this unique opportunity to ask you a question."

Robin flinched, fearing that his questions would become an embarrassing mess in front of Jason. "Uhm. What kind of question?"

"Finance. To be specific the repair bills. First the roof that was four days ago and then the furniture two days later."

Robin let out a sigh. "The roof was caused by an… internal affair. Then, Raven lost control of her emotions because of it. I can't blame her, at all."

"It's the book, isn't it," Jason stated.

Robin let out another sigh. "Yes."

Jason grimly nodded. "I understand."

Bruce wanted to hear more about it but the soft tone in Jason's words and his body langue told him not to, so he remained quiet as he took a sip of his coffee.

Raven returned with the book she levitated just behind her by using her power. Jason was quite impressed by the little to no effort the hooded girl used to levitate an object far beyond her visual field. "I see that you are well trained to levitate and control object."

"Thanks. It's very useful from time to time."

"No doubt about that," he smiled.

Jason opened his briefcase, allowing her to levitate the book in it. Once her black energy was lifted he could easily recognized the book as the Wisdom of Nol and he closed it again. He turned back to her who already took her seat. "Now, we didn't talk about what you want for it. What do you have in mind?"

"Nothing. I want you to consider it as a gift and accept it as one."

"Are you sure that you don't want to have a compensation?" Bruce asked her.

"Yes. Only the thought that this book is no longer nearby Jump City is more than enough."

Jason nodded. "Very well. I just wish that you didn't had to experience any troubles it caused."

"Don't be, but..." the thinnest form of a smile appeared on her face. "…thank you for understanding."

Jason returned the smile. "You're welcome."

Once their visitors were gone Robin took his seat on the couch next to Raven as he give her a new mug of tea. She nodded a thanks as she took the mug before he took a sip from his coffee. Once he placed his mug on the table his thoughts went to the meeting for only a moment.

"I can only image how relieved you are now that the book is safe and no longer on the island."

Raven smiled as she let out a sing. "Like the weight of the Tower has been lifted from my shoulders while my heart's being freed from a clutching fist."

Robin returned a smile. "I'm glad you feel that way."

Raven went serious. "How well do you know Jason Blood?"

"I know that he's a good friend of Bruce. He visited him so now and then. I have seen him a couple of times. He was somewhat different than the others so we rarely spoke to each other."

"Why not?"

"I wasn't interested in occult and sorcery back then. That changed after I met you."

"It have to do with my powers?"

"Mostly. Batman never trained me to counter any threat that's related to magic so it was unfamiliar to me. But as leader of the Titans I have to know what my teammates can do with their powers and abilities. With that knowledge we can train much better and put it into practice when needed. Our first fight against Jinx and the rest of the H.I.V.E. forced me to learn even more about it."

"I see your point. It's to understand it and what the wielders can do with it."

Robin grinned. "Exactly."

Then his grin disappeared. "So, what do you think of Bruce Wayne?" he asked carefully.

Raven shifted her gaze to the table. "Different than I expected. I thought that he was demanding like he used to be as Batman, but he's more compassionate than I thought that he would be."

Robin smiled when several good memories with him crossed his mind. "I know. He's full of surprises."

Her gaze went hack to him. "But you wish that he could be more often when wearing the cape."

His smile dropped. "Maybe, but Batman won't be Batman when he become softer. He's only human, just like me. Can't afford to weaken a bit. Especially in Gotham City."

"Sound like you'd moved forward."

"We did. We didn't talked about it but I can tell that things worked out pretty well."

Bruce Wayne and Jason Blood were in a limousine heading for the hotel. Since they were in Jump City the billionaire could use this opportunely to visit the Wayne Building in the city for once while Jason would like to see if he could find some interesting items in one of the antique shops or bookstores.

Both of them were quite since they left the island and Jason could tell that his friend was in thought. "What are you thinking about?"

It took a few moments. "Raven," he replied with his deep gravel voice known to Batman.

It didn't surprised him. "You know Bruce, as you have mentioned before, she is straight to the point but an honest one. With the evidence right here in my suitcase, she have her heart on the right place. Wanting nothing in return only strengthened my opinion that she doesn't mean any harm to the people."

Bruce nodded. "That's what I thought. She's powerful, but unless you are her opponent, she's harmless."

"What do you think of her now?"

"I had my doubt at first but giving you that book just like that I have to reconsider it and seeing her as a good crimefighter who wants nothing but the best for the people."

"But you still want to keep an eye on them."

"No. It's not only about her, it's the rest of the Titans. They have at least one enemy who's well known in technology. I can install some cameras nearby the shores but if they discover it, they can use it against them. That is something I cannot allow."

A small smile went across Jason's face. "You make a fair point. And as I told you before, it is a possibility that she is a descents of Trigon. I too can make mistakes."

Bruce grinned. "No doubt about that." He then went serious. "Now, where would you keep the book?"

"On a bookshelf."

"In plain sight?"

"Who want to steal a book? It would be less obvious to put it between the others than to put it in a safe. Even if they were looking for it, it can take hours to find it."

"It's like hiding in the crowd Master Bruce. When you are looking for one particular person you will have much more trouble in finding him when he is in a full theater for example than in an abandon warehouse."

Both man looking at the driver of the limo and realized that he had heard the whole conversation. Bruce just smiled. "I guess you are right Alfred."
