The Toadstool royal family has ruled the Mushroom Kingdom for years. All their sons and daughters are named after fruit, and they have been at war with Koopa Troop, a race of magic turtles led by King Bowser Koopa. The Mushroom Kingdom spanned across all the land, even taking over the Koopa's, though they hate to admit it. The world is ever changing, one week there could be a desert in the west, and next it'll be a lake. The Koopa King has been kidnapping the princess ever since he was a prince, trying to marry her to take over her kingdom, but also because of his crush.
Princess Peach Toadstool is the current ruler of the kingdom, her mother and father becoming moving away and leaving her in charge so they could raise her baby brother, Prince Avocado Toadstool. The Princess had been quiet in her childhood, only raising her voice to cry at the smallest thing. Her brother, however, was different…
"Avocado Guacamole Toadstool!" Queen Toadstool yelled, as a barefoot 14 year old boy wearing a grey T-shirt and light-blue swimming trunks, running away as fast as he could. In his mouth he firmly held a piece of cake, stolen from the cooks. Running through the halls of the mansion, he dodged over the Toads-short beings with strange heads most couldn't put if they were hats or a part of their skull. It made for easy landing pads as Avocado hopped from them like a frog. He turned a corner, looking back down the halls to see nothing chasing him.
"All this just for some cake." He said, stuffing the cake in his mouth. The courtyard was just past those doors, and if he could get there, he'll be home free.
"Not so fast." A tall, burly man with greying hair and a moustache leaped in front of the courtyard doors. He had a robe and crown on, signifying his royalness.
"Crap. Dad always was one for theatrics." Avocado whispered to himself. He screeched to a halt before he ran more down the hall.
"Son, stop right where you are."
"Aww, c'mon dad. This isn't something to create a scene about."
"Just go to your room, and we can talk about this." Avocado rolled his eyes and sighed.
"Allright pops, you're right. Guess I should face the consequences of my actio-NOT!" He quickly bolted between his fathers legs, opening the doors and running around the courtyard. He had his eyes on a prize, something he had been dying to get since it arrived a month ago. He leapt on the hedges and shoulder checked the gardner Toads. One was up on a ladder, clipping a hedge in the shape of his own face.
"My beautiful creation, it is done" Avocado leapt onto the hedge, leaping all over its face and messing it up beyond recognition.
"Sorry dude." Avocado yelled back as he jumped off. The gardener was heard crying as Avocado ran away..
And standing there, protected by a dome of glass, was a Fire Flower. It had a strange bud, eyes growing out like a Toad. Avocado eagerly took off the dome and grabbed it. He could only stare at it in wonder. He was so amazed, he didn't notice his father running up with the entire guard fleet.
"Son, you are the heir to the throne. This is very-"
"What I hold in my hand, will make me a god. This. Is going to be. AWESOME!" The Fire Flower suddenly disappeared, fiery energy sending into Avocado's hands. With a strange sound, his T-shirt tuned white and his trunks red. Flames rose from his hands as he grinned wickedly.
"THE FIRES OF CHAOS SHALL BURN!" He flung a ball of fire at a hedge, igniting it like fireworks. The guards could only duck as dozens of fireballs whizzed by their heads.
"And when in doubt, improvise!" He focused all his might, and jets of fire sprang out of his shoes. He rose into the air and zoomed around the courtyard, flinging fireballs and flying. The gardener from earlier had finished fixing Avocado's mistake.
"And now, despite interruptions, my magnum opus is done!" Right as he said that, a fireball hit his hedge-face square in the teeth. The gardner threw himself off the ladder, to the floor, weeping.
"Prince, come down right this instant or you will suffer the consequences!"
"You cannot stop me, father. I reign supre-'' a gush of water stopped in in his speech, sending him to the ground and stopping the effects of the Fire Flower.
He spurted and coughed up water, laying in a small pool of water.
"Hey, who cut off my-" once again he stopped, staring up at the person who sprayed him, trembling with fear. She was tall enough to touch the ceiling of the mansion ceiling, with long regal robes and a crown placed on her greying hair. Avocado shyly smiled and waved.
"Hey mom."
Avocado leaned back as his parents yelled at him for the gazillionth time. So what if he gets in trouble almost everyday? And whatever if his grades are terrible in Public, Private, and Homeschool? He can't control who he is, and he likes to cause mischief.
Oh, and here was the end. They would call him a mischievous rascal, and then they would tell him he was supposed to be a prince, and if he couldn't remain out of trouble, what could he do as a royal power?
"And we have helped you your whole life, yet you are still a mischievous little rascal," Avocado's mom yelled, "And another thing, you're a prince! If you can't keep yourself out of trouble, then what will you do once you rise to power, if you do that?"
"Dunno mom. I feel like you should respect my liberties. I'm not gonna be a kid for much longer, teenage angst is already starting to set in~" He taunted. He could almost see steam coming out of his parents ears. He couldn't help but stifle a laugh, which only made his parents angrier.
"THAT IS THE LAST STRAW! For 14 long years, we have had to put up with your antics and this is the last straw." His father bellowed. Avocado laughed even more.
"Oh man! What're you gonna do, take away the servants? Go ahead." His father took a deep breath and a smug grin appeared on his face.
"You are going to stay with your sister from now on." Avocado quit laughing in an instant.
"W-wait, you can't do that! She's like 18, she can't take care of me. I-I'll run away, I'll fake my own death, I'll, I'll, I'll-"
His mother smiled. "Pack your bags. You leave tomorrow." His parents both laughed and strolled out the room, Avocado could only stare at the door, his stomach filling full of butterflies.
The sound of the treadmill caused everybody to stand up straight. The leader did not have legs, and was only able to move via treadmills littered throughout the factory.
"As you know," The leader said, stroking his metallic beard, "our plan is about to begin. We shall send Exor to this dimension, shatter the Star Road, and use the castle we scouted out as a base of operations. I have already given each of you your plan of attack, and once we get to this world, I want all of you to be at your stations. Do I make myself clear?" the troops all nodded and ran to their battle stations. Only three remained, following behind everyone, even though they had higher power.
"Allright , let's get this party started!" The lieutenant shouted hopping up and down. All the other forces groaned.
Sitting in the carriage, Avocado could do nothing but sulk. The only thing he had packed that his parents hadn't taken from him was a suitcase of clothes. The Toads carrying the carriage all moved quickly, too quickly in Avocado's opinion. His parents were sitting away from him, laughing to themselves about 'alone time'.
"This is gonna blow. I never wanted to be around her for Christmas, now I have to be stuck around her for the rest of my life." he whined. Ever since they were kids, he couldn't stand her. Everyday she got A+ or baked an amazing cake, but for Avocado, it was, "Did you even go to school today?", or, "Why Would you put the toilet seat in the oven?". It was always Peach, Peach, Peach.
"My life is over." he groaned as they arrived at the castle. They first had to pass through Toad Town, which was a town at the front of the castle. Tons of Toads went about their day, kissing their spouses before going to work, little kids playing, a group of Toad teenagers were trying to secretly smoke in an alleyway, and more. Avocado gave a small smile. At the small village where he lived, this never happened. It was drab and boring, and the only thing that was interesting was the Mansion he lived in.
At last, they arrived at the drawbridge to Mushroom Castle. It had a white base and red tops, looking like the most common Toad colors. The drawbridge slowly dropped, revealing Toads blasting trumpets, confetti falling from the air and a Toad rolling out a red carpet.
Avocado sighed and dropped out of the carriage, walking down the path to the doors as the drawbridge rose up. He shook the confetti out of his blonde hair, grumbling away. Once he reached the doors, he opened them with flourish, smacking it into the wall. It led to a throne room, and sitting on a throne, was none other than Princess Peach Toadstool.
"Advocado." she said, standing from her throne. Then, in the blink of an eye, she ran towards him, picked him up, and started smothering him with hugs.
"Oh, little bro! You've gotten so big! I'm so happy you'll be staying with me!" Avocado squirmed in her grasp, gasping for air.
"Let go of me you harlot!" he cried right as his parents walked through the door. Peach and the Toads all bowed to them except Avocado who managed to free himself from his sister's grasp.
"Daughter, your kingdom is very prosperous. Although I fear with the addition of your brother, it will soon come to ruin." Their father said. Avocado sent a slight growl his way. Toads hastily brought in his suitcase and hurried out the door. His father saluted Peach and ran it to the carriage.
"Alright, now watch him at all times, bolt everything down, and give the guards a raise. We would give you the electric fence, but he knows how to disable it. I love you honey, bye!" and the Queen left, leaving her kids in silence.
Finally realising the weight of the situation, he glanced at Peach. "Where's my room?"
"Oh, it's on the 4th floor, down the hall to the right. It's-"
"Thanks." Picking up his suitcase, he practically pranced up the stairs, subjecting Peach to her thoughts.
"Why does he hate me?"
Avocado's new room was an upgrade from the storage closet with a bed he lived in. It was now huge, at least to his standards. A beautiful bed was laid out and various wind chimes and wooden mobiles in the shape of houses were strung from the ceiling. He immediately ripped them off, throwing them out the window.
He looked out the window, simply watching the toads go by about their lives. He couldn't help but smile. Simple lives. Care-free. Normal.
"Master Avocado!" Toadsworth burst into his room, startling Avocado. He had met Toadsworth before back when he was at least 5. He was ageing now, with a greying moustache and reading glasses and had to move around by cane.
"H-Hey Toadsworth. How's it going?"
"I simply wanted to meet you. My, you've gotten so big over the years!" Toadsworth reached up and pinched Avocado's cheek. He let him, it felt embarrassing but good.
"Well It's nice to see you too Toadsworth. Can't say the same for my sis though." he turned back to the window. He could hear Toadsworth sigh.
"Master Avocado, might I ask why you feel so hostile towards the princess." Avocado scoffed.
"Unless you're getting on in your years, Peach is basically the best. My parents love her, you love her, everybody in this kingdom loves her. But loves me, not even my own parents."
"M-Master Avocado! I assure, that is not true! The King and Queen are-"
"The ones who sent me here. Why? 'Cause they wanted to get rid of me all because I burnt one garden to the ground!"
"What?" Toadsworth questioned. Avocado groaned.
"I'm going out, is that ok with you?"
"Of course Master Avocado! Do whatever you want that doesn't-" Avocado stripped the blankets and pillows off the bed.
"Involve…" Avocado took the bedsheet. He wrapped around his neck like a cape. He tied the last ends around his ankles. Then he jumped out the window.
"...Fire." the blanket caught the air and allowed him to glide down to the town below.
"...We have doors, Master Avocado!"
"I KNOW!"
Avocado deposited the sheet in a garbage can. Nobody stopped to stare as he walked the streets. While it was true that most humans are royalty, some were born commoners, so Avocado didn't make a commotion.
Avocado felt giddy. Here he was, walking like nobody's business and the cops didn't have to tail him.
"This is the life." he sighed as the concrete hit his feet. He walked some more until he happened across a Video Game store. He didn't have any coins on him, but he figured there might be some demos in there.
He walked in and was immediately met with the sounds of yelling and sound effects. Some kids were playing a fighting game on a tv on a desk. One of them was a Koopa, yet another strange sight. Most were allied to Bowser, but some had defected to the Mushroom Kingdom. The ones on Bowser's side were called Koopa Troopas, simply because they were always soldiers. He was facing against a Toad wearing a black hoodie that complemented the dark spots on his head. He wasn't even looking at the screen, fiddling around with his phone while using one hand to easily conquer the Koopa's points.
"Good Game." The Toad said. The Koopa glared before standing up.
"Alright, who's next? Who wants to challenge Angelo, the champion?" the kids all turned around and whistled, avoiding eye contact. The Koopa scanned the crowd until he spotted a human browsing the games.
"Hey, you with the five-fingred hands and skin!" Avocado turned to the Koopa throwing the controller at him. He caught it.
"Come over here and see if you can beat Angelo." The Toad was still on his phone, either unaware or ignoring the situation around him.
"UHhhh...Sure?" he headed over and chose his character. Angelo chose his, still with one hand.
"Dude," Avocado asked, "What are you doing that's so important you can't look at the game?
"Stuff…" Angelo replied. Avocado shrugged. The round started and Avocado's character immediately rushed Angelo's. He had played this game before, but only for a week until he 'accidently' let those Eerie in the house, where his parents took his console. He faintly remembered the controls.
Angelo quickly pressed a button, launching a high-kick at Avocado. The prince was too slow and his character was hit with a quick kick. Avocado got back up and sped towards Angelo. Angelo's hands were a blur as he input a combo that resulted in Avocado losing the round. Avocado cursed under his breath.
"Round 2. Ready? RUMBLE!" the video game said. Avocado leapt away from Angelo's character. Angelo, still on his phone, began to advance towards Avocado. Just what he wanted. Avocado sent a fireball Angelo's way, who was too slow to dodge. Then he got up close and personal, using a combination of weak and strong attacks, then at the end, he gave him an uppercut that sent him flying then crashing to the ground. Angelo finally glanced at the game screen before returning back to his phone.
"Final Round. Ready? Rumble!" The round was off. Angelo and Avocado's character sped towards each other. Angelo let loose a flurry of well time combos and skill, while Avocado countered with reckless button mashing. They both racked up damage, their healthbars reaching red.
"Now it's time!" Avocado activated his super move, a gigantic fireball. Angelo activated his too, a bolt of lighting. The attacks arched towards each other, Avocado was on the edge of his seat when the attacks collided. The viewers watched with hitched breath as… on the ground was Avocado's character. The whole store groaned as Angelo smirked.
"Good Game." he said, extending his hand. And to his surprise, Avocado shook it.
"Yeah, nice job. Ever thought of going to tournaments?"
"Uhh, kinda, sorta."
"Cool. Welp, I'm heading out. See ya." he said, leaving the store and stretching his legs. He scanned the streets, seeing what else he could do.
"Hey, you're new here right?" he turned around. Angelo was standing right by him, still looking at his phone.
"You could say that, I guess."
"Where do ya live?" Avocado sighed. He could lie where he lived, but he also kinda wanted flex on him.
He pointed towards the giant castle to the north. "Against my judgement, there." Angelo's eyes turned wide and briefly glanced towards the castle.
"Wow. What are you, some kinda scholar or something?"
"No, actually. I'm a prince. Prince Avocado Toadstool." Angelo finally let down his phone and stared at Avocado. The prince waited for him to bow down or something and pledge allegiance.
"Huh, cool." Angelo went right back to checking his phone. "You're not gonna throw me in the gulag cause I beat you at that game, right?"
Avocado chuckled, "Nah, don't worry. I haven't played that game in forever."
"You got anything else you wanna do? I know an arcade a block away." Avocado smiled.
"Sure. Lead the way." and they did just that. Played at the arcade, ate some food, (which Angelo paid for), and they bid goodbye at night, promising to hang out tomorrow.
"Master Avocado, where were you? The princess was so worried we were about to send out the troops!"
"Ahh, Toadsworth. You worry too much, I just took in the sights. I'm going to bed. Don't wait up." the boy yawned and trudged off to his new room. Toadsworth heaved a sigh and returned to his chambers.
"That boy...perhaps it was foolish of the princess to take up her parents' offer. Young Avocado has heart, but he also seems to have something else, and perhaps it's not for the best."
Toadsworth sighed and clicked off his lamp, going to sleep. Meanwhile, Avocado had fallen asleep, reading a book.
"Best...day..ever…" he snored with a smile on his face.
Avocado opened his eyes, feeling like a log. He slunk out of bed, not bothering to change his clothes. He walked out of the room and was immediately met with screams and panic. Toads ran every which way, screaming.
"..." Avocado sidestepped a crying Toad and walked down the great steps, past the throne room and into the kitchen. He grabbed a random bowl, searched for and found a box of Koopa Krunch, obtained milk, and sat on the throne, watching the toad's panic while eating his cereal. It wasn't long before Toadsworth ran into the room.
"M-M-M-Master Avocado! T-The princess!" Avocado took an uncomfortably long slip of milk before smoking his lips.
"The princess…?"
"The princess has been k-k-k-kidnapped!" Avocado stared straight at Toadsworth, and dipped his spoon into his cereal, he ate and crunched it bit by bit and swallowed. He slurped up the excess milk, which was really uncomfortable. Finally, he set down the bowl.
"Whaaaaat?"
Hope you all enjoyed the first chapter of Super Avocado RPG:Legend of The Seven Stars. It kinda sucked since we didn't get to the story part. But rest assured, it will get better. Hopefully you'll stick around.
So long, and see ya never.
