To be completely honest I don't think I have the rights to make a fanfiction on a series as great as jujutsu kaisen, I feel as though I'm soiling a pure diamond with a bucket of animal shit, BUT I have a lot of really neat ideas that I just need to get out somewhere, so here we are.
Also, I am reading the manga and I'm going to try to not give spoilers. I understand that JJK is relatively new and it's subject to change, but I hope that what I'm doing isn't too horrible.
Any critcism is appreciated!
Chapter 1: Onwards to the "Land Of The Free."
April 2nd 2015.
Japan, an overall beautiful country, and one of the few countries that mixes modern concepts with past historical concepts. Despite the modern (and even outright futuristic) looks with major cities, they still have a ton of locations that still keep to their ancient roots. Of course it has it's political problems, but at this point, what country doesn't have issues?
Tokyo, a beautiful city that many even outside of Japan have heard of, is where we begin this certain tale.
With the story of Curses, Jujutsu, and two friends.
These two friends stood in front of an abandoned building.
A young woman with short black hair that was much longer at the back and piercing black eyes. She stood at 5'10 Despite the area she is in, she wore black gloves and a men's bartenders uniform; suit, tie and black pants. Meanwhile, the young man right next to her has outright beautiful spiked up white hair, and a blindfold covering his eyes. His attire is an all-black high-necked jacket with matching pants and dark dress boots.
The building in front of them had a horrid smell to it. A horrible stench of blood and agony flowed out of the building like a waterfall.
"So, exactly why are we here?" The woman asked.
Were it anyone else, this situation would be taken completely seriously, but to him, this was just a normal day, "Heh, Yuriko-chan is quite the forgetful person isn't she?" So he decided to tease her.
And she fell right into his trap. "Bastard, you're the one who dragged me here without calling me first! And don't refer to me in the third person when I'm right here!"
That was the usual banter between those two, Satoru Gojo and Yuriko Tohsaka. Two Jujutsu sorcerers that have graduated from Tokyo Jujutsu High.
He turned his head to her direction, despite the blindfold she knew he was staring directly into her eyes.
"Well you see Yuriko-chan," He held up his finger, as if he was about to lecture her- which irked her to a large degree - "I've heard that you're visiting America this weekend, right?" He already knew the answer of course, but it won't hurt for confirmation.
"Yeah, my father is making me deal with some business in America because of a stupid promise made by my grandparents. So what about it?" The Tohsaka family was just a regular family until her grandfather discovered that he was a Jujutsu sorcerer, if it wasn't from a American woman then
"Hm, so I was right, anyways! You're visiting America and won't be back for a while, so I thought we should spend some time together before you leave," He dramatically moved his arm and pointed at the building, "And what better way to spend some time together then to exorcise some curses!"
There was a silent pause. She merely just stared at him with a disdainful look. "Are you stupid? With your abilities this would be done within seconds, so there was no point in bringing me unless you just wanted to flex your superiority."
"Of course not! Why would you think so little of me?! Oh you hurt me Yuriko-chan!" He gasped in mock pain as he grabbed his chest. She seriously wanted to punch his dumb face, "No, I want to see how your abilities are currently, we haven't been on a mission in a while, so think of this as your senpai watching over the results of your progress."
She held out her index finger. "One year. You were my senpai by one singular year! And we have already graduated from Jujutsu High so there's no need to treat me like your kouhai still."
"Oh Yuriko-chan, you seem to misunderstand. Even after graduating, your senpai is still your senpai, so I have to watch over my adorable kouhai, it's my rightful duty!"
She huffed, crossing her arms. "Your flattery will get you nowhere."
"I beg to disagree, it gets me a lot of places." He responded with a smile.
"Shut up."
"Alrighty!" He placed his hands on her shoulders, "Onwards tsundere Kouhai! Let us see the fruits of your labor!" And proceeded to push her forwards into the building.
"Bastard! Don't call me that! Damn it let go!"
He did not let go. Laughing at her attempts to get his hands off her shoulders.
Once they finally entered the building, the horrid stench hit both of them like a freight train. It had little effect on Satoru but Yuriko flinched from it.
It occurred within a second - Yuriko jumped away from Satoru's grasp and moved to the right, while he stood completely still - a red flash striked both of them.
"Heeeh, so that's what you do then?" Satoru's voice echoed within the abandoned building. He stood there with no harm to his person whatsoever. Beside him however was Yuriko, who stood in a offensive position. Right before the strike hit she simply swatted it away with her left hand.
From the are where the strike came from, another red bolt flew at them. Satoru once again did nothing, and Yuriko swatted it away like a fly, though this time.
"Whoa- Hey, why are you trying to hit me?!" She swiped her arm a little too hard (purposely) so her hand went directly for Satoru's face.
"Think of this as revenge, you knew this was a special grade didn't you?" An incomplete domain, the door of which they came in from was completely blocked off, and the inside of the building looks a lot more spacious than it should it.
"Maybe~ But this is the perfect opportunity!"
From the other end of the large room, a humanoid figure approached. A Finger Bearer, a cursed spirit that has somehow devoured one of the King Of Curses fingers. It walked forward with a 'majestic' stride, as though it was flaunting off it's appearance and power.
Satoru took a few steps back, in order to give Yuriko some room.
This is just a simple large room, and this thing also attacked us head on right when we entered, did it recently eat the finger? She examined the curse, then sighed. Either way it doesn't matter.
"Give me a minute, I'll have this thing gone."
"heeh? Alright then, I'll count down."
It began with a soft gentle breeze. Despite the fact that there were no windows, wind began to form in the area.
So we're starting with that huh? Satoru Gojo examined Yuriko's actions with interest
It was an ability that was formed and mastered by the Tohsaka family, it was created by her grandfather and then it was mastered by her grandmother.
Manipulation of the Air, now known as Aerials. The gentle breeze began to increase in speed, surrounding the Finger Bearer. The wind began to take on a physical appearance as well. Within that gale cage, the curse attempted to walk through the wind, but the front half of it's body was completely cut off, disintegrating in the wind current.
20 seconds.
This was a special technique that was formed by the help of her grandmother, the American that helped the Tohsaka family survive as sorcerers.
A electric cackle resounded from the wind, it began to surround the Finger Bearer in a spherical cage. It condensed and shrank. The cursed spirit within tried to escape, but every time it touched the wind, that part would get cut off and disintegrate within the gale.
Heeh, lightning? No this isn't just ordinary electricity... Satoru stared with great interest.
The electric cackle grew louder, a bright light began to shine from the gale orb.
30 seconds.
"Cursed Aerial-" Despite the loud noises coming from the wind and electricity, Yuriko's voice echoed.
This is plasma!
"Plasmatic Prison!"
The light condensed to the size of a basketball, and then it exploded. The bright light filled the entire room, yet neither of them took their eyes off it. When the light finally died down, the building returned to normal, they were in the lobby instead of the large room.
"That was 40 seconds. Well... I gotta say that this was much better than I thought."
Yuriko made no reply as she walked over to where the curse was. She picked up an object that was laying on the floor and tossed it over to Satoru. He grabbed it and stared at it.
It was one Sukuna's fingers.
"To go against one of those curses so easily, you've certainly grown."
"Please, we both know that this curse was just recently turned into special grade, if it weren't for that then it would have taken longer."
Even still... Satoru did not finish his thought, merely putting the finger into his pocket. "Well I guess that's that for now. How about we go get something to eat? My treat~"
She scoffed as she walked right past him and towards the entrance. "It better fucking be your treat."
He responded with a chuckle. "Oh- Might have to return this to Jujutsu High real quick, meet me outside in a second." With that he vanished.
"That infuriating dude... agh what a joke, "Japan's Strongest"? More like Japan's Most Arrogant." So she proceeded to wait outside the building.
Ten minutes later
It was a simple restaurant that wasn't really worth mentioning, it was a ramen store.
Slurping on some of the noodles, Yuriko swallowed. She did not bother changing her attire.
"I've told you before how my grandmother was from America right?"
Satoru wore his casual light blue jeans and a black Red Hot Chili P*ppers shirt. How he got it, and why exactly he got into that certain band no one really knows and no one really cares. He wore sunglasses that covered the view of his eyes, but if one were to look at a certain angle, they would be able to see those diamonds staring back.
"Hmm.. yeah you've said that once."
"Yeah, apparently in exchange for techniques for the Aerials ability, someone from our family will have to transfer to America at a certain age. It was originally supposed to be 25 but I guess things aren't so good in America, so my parents are in a bit of a rush."
Truly with all the things going on in Japan, no one really has any thought about other places of the world. With this world filled with curses...
"I guess it is to be expected though, do people truly think Japan is the only country with curses?"
She said that within chews, and swallowed the food that was in her mouth.
"Ahhh but I don't really wanna gooo. The naming conventions there are completely different from here, did you know they call curses Daemons? Apparently they named curses that after some paranoid man on an island created a bunch of cosmic horror stories. Ugh, I seriously don't want to have to deal with going to school again!"
"Heh, I highly doubt they will be sending you to school again, unless it's as a tutor."
"Hmmm... I guess that's true."
For anyone, this info would have just been "fun facts", but to an arrogant man like Satoru Gojo, one thought crossed his mind.
I wonder if there are any powerful sorcerers there.
"But I guess it isn't too bad, they also call sorcerers something else."
"Hm? and what's that?"
"They call jujutsu sorcerer's Hunters."
"Hunters?"
"Hunters."
Well... it is a pretty cool name, but isn't it a little overused?
"Well, that's this weekend, so I only really have to worry about packing for now. My 'second cousin' will be picking me up apparently."
There was a few seconds of silence between the two, both of them just absorbing the noise from the other costumers in the restaurant.
"Hey Satoru?"
"Yes Yuriko?"
The two had a stare down. His diamond blue eyes stared at her dark black eyes.
"Promise me, should you get bored here, why don't you come visit me in America?"
He chuckled at that, leaning his body back a bit. "You ask that even when you don't know what's going to happen in America? Heh, Yuriko, are you saying it's going to be boring there without me? My, I'm flattered."
She turned her head so he can't see her face, though he knew that there was a tinge of pink. That was only for a second though, as she shook her head and stared back at him. "I'm not saying it's going to get boring, maybe it is, maybe it isn't. But what if it's us two, exorcising daemons from another country, doesn't that sound cool?"
He put a hand on his chin, his mouth spread into a grin. "Yeah... that does sound pretty cool."
Yuriko held out her hand, she had long taken off her gloves by now. "So, what do you say? Promise?"
Satoru leaned forward, the grin still on his face. He grabbed her hand with his, shaking it. "It's a promise."
It was times like these where they could just be regular friends talking about life.
No sorcerers, no curse users, and no curses.
It's times like these that both of them cherish, one way or another.
Though these moments, sooner or later, will become fewer and fewer.
"Why are we here exactly?"
"To pick up someone."
It was at the Los Angeles airport, two people stood waiting for someone.
One of them was a man who could only be called a gentlemen from merely his looks. He stood at a 6'5. He had short combed black hair and deep and dark blue eyes, as though staring into the abyss of the ocean. His sharp features were exactly in between that of a mature adult and a young adult. His attire was a simple black business suit and tie, though it looked similar to fashion from the 1950s-60s.
The young 15 year-old boy next to him has slightly past shoulder-length dark brown hair and pitch black iris' for eyes. He stood at a 5'8 He wore a formal white shirt and dark blue jacket, and similar dark blue jeans. It looked more like a school uniform more than anything. Though there was a air of "despair" that radiated off of him, he had that "emo" aesthetic that died out in 2010. A lot of his comrades call him an "edgelord" because of the fact that his hair curved and covered his left eye.
As the people began to pile out, they waited at the luggage pickup. Looking for a woman within the crowd. It was 30 minutes of them just standing there, until something caught the mans eye.
Walking up to them with luggage was a woman with short hair in the front and longer hair in the back, her dark eyes were similar to the man's in a way.
"You're, Randolph Carter right?"
"Yes, and you're Yuriko Tohsaka."
"Yep, alright so we're good." She was going to grab her luggage again when the boy caught her eye. "Oh? Who's this?"
The man nudged the boys shoulder, he looked at Randolph with a nervous glance. "My name is Marcus Tenebrous, ma'am."
"Hoh, so you're one of those kids. Well at least you aren't bad."
Marcus did not know whether to take that as a compliment or insult, so he just said nothing.
"Let's go, we have many things to talk about Tohsaka." He walked up to her and helped her with some of the luggage.
"Of course, Carter."
The three of them walked out of the airport, and towards where Randolph parked the car. Marcus sat in the back while Yuriko and Randolph sat in the front.
Their destination and the place where this story truly begins.
Hollywood.
