Annoyance is not a feeling that Bakugou liked feeling but yet it was a feeling that came to him very often. All too often, he finds himself lashing out on others around him, rather that be his "friends" or people who invoked that emotion in the first place. For the most part his lashing out was enough to get people to leave him be,the less people he dealt with the better. Sometimes it makes his job as a hero, let's say difficult; at times but who cares what a bunch of extras think when he's saving them. They're saved, and should be grateful he saved them as well, he wore his emotions for better or for worse on his sleeve.
Which is why at this current moment he is beyond annoyed. He's pissed and this is an emotion he likes to save for when he's fighting villains or dealing with Todoroki or Midoriya. At least that way he has an outlet to release this pent up emotion he's been carrying like how children shake a soda can up for their friend to open it as some sort of prank. And oh boy was Katsuki shaken to his core.
It's been a few weeks into his internship with Endeavor. And, as much as he hates to admit it he's learned a thing or two from the walking embodiment of failed parenthood. Things he would like to work on without a certain bushy haired teen watching his every move like a mother to her newborn. He got permission from All Might to use the school's gym after hours to practice some techniques. Usually to do so you would need a member of the faculty to stay on campus with you in case of an injury or in the worst case scenario a villain attacks. Luckily All Might pulled some strings to let the young hero in training use the gym without him being there, thanks to him begrudgingly helping him train Midoriya for the last two weeks.
After the final bell he stayed behind for a little Kirishima and Kaminari in their usual entics and attempts at jokes, made fun of Todoroki, got in an argument with Iida about sitting on the desk, etc. He checked the time on his phone and lazily waved off his "friends" before making his way to the gym. On his way towards the gym he took a quick glance out the window and saw that damn nerd and Aizawa interacting with that copycat from Class B. With a quick smack of his lips he continues on his way, "Who cares about some Class B rejects." He whispered to himself
Almost as if the universe itself heard his remark and decided to test him his patience on this day. He opened the door of the gym to find none other than the queen of the rejects herself performing what seems to be some sort of shadow boxing technique. Her regular school uniform was replaced with the official UA sports uniform and her long ginger hair was put up in some sort of bun instead of its long ponytail look. The sight of her twisted Bakugou face into one of disgust, not wanting to be bothered by anyone while working out; especially not one good enough to make it to class A.
"Yo queen of the rejects what are you doing here!" The explosive teen shouted but oddly enough no response from Kendou. She only continues practicing her moves as if he was never there. Which only turns his slight irritation, to one of annoyance. "Aye Big Hands i'm talking to you!"
Still no response, and it's at this point Katsuki can swear he can feel the vein in his forehead. He marches over to the girl who is not facing in his direction occupied by her training to notice him. He grabs her by the shoulder in an attempt to get her attention "Aye Reject -" Suddenly Bakugou was cut off by being flipped five feet in the air and now laying flat on his back.
What the hell.
Ignoring the pain that is currently rushing to his head, he is more drawn to the weight that is on the lower part of the body. That being a knee right in his abdomen and a wrist right under his neck. Letting off a low primal growl he looked up to seeing nothing but squinted teal eyes staring directly into his bright crimson eyes.
They stayed like that for no more than two seconds before Kendou quickly recognized the face and let go. Getting back to her feet, she let off a light awkward laugh "Sorry about that Bakugou, didn't see you come you kinda startled me when you touched me, my fight or flight instincts kicked in." She explained before extending a hand in an attempt to pick him up.
Smacking the hand away with more force than necessary. He motioned her to take a step back, which she did resentfully. Bakugou threw his legs up to the top of his chest and performed a quick kip-up. Once he found his balance he wiped away whatever dust he gained from the flip and then glared Kendou down. "Do that again man hands and they won't find your body."
"What?"
"And while i'm at it, didn't you hear me earlier when I was shouting at you? Or do they just let anyone run that class of rejects!" He barked violently, his anger oozing from his fingertips as he approached her and the class rep smartly takes a step back. "And another thing, queen of the extras, who the hell do you think you are flipping me like that! Better question, what the fuck are you even doing here, this is my you have a death wish of something!"
Katsuki finally stops his rant a few meters from the face of Kendou. With a long sigh she enlarges her right hand and wraps it around the waist of Bakugou; much his chagrin as he tries to wiggle his way out of her grasp. She sets him down a few inches away from her, before making her hand normal size.
"First, I didn't hear you at all, when I train I like to put music on to keep my concentration going and erase distractions." She tilts her head to the right and moves some strains of her hair showing off a wireless earphone in her ear. "Second, Kan sensei gave me permission to use the gym. He was here supervising but he had to leave to help a gen ed student with an issue. He told me that someone was coming in to use the gym, so just finish my training and give the key to them.
Almost on cue she digs in her pocket and fetches out a key hooked to a key chain. She quickly tosses the key in his direction in which he effortlessly grabs it. "Third, like I told you I flipped you out of instinct, and for that I apologize." She said with a bow that caught Bakugou off guard but he didn't show it on his face. "And most importantly." Kendou started lifting her face to show her teal eyes sending daggers in his direction "You can call me whatever you wish, but you will not disrespect my friends." She threatens with a small warm smile on her face which contradicts the look she is giving him
Katsuki faltered for a moment, caught completely off guard. He quickly however, managed to get his composure back before clicking his tongue in annoyance."Stop bowing to me, you're making shit weird."
Not needing to be told twice the class rep lifts her head back up and laughs to herself. "Sorry, just making sure I got my point across." In one quick motion Kendou moves her hands up to her hair and removes her tie letting her hair fall out. "Anyway I'll be on my way, you have fun here."
The apricot hair teen then swiftly ties her hair into her iconic ponytail and begins making her way to her belongings. On most days, king explosion murder would be just leave it at that. The stupid extra caught him lacking, whatever, no big deal, he's still gonna be the number one hero and she's gonna be lucky to even crack top twenty.
No, something didn't sit right with Bakugou. No something was off, he turned and looked at her and examined her. She's wasn't anything to special he reckoned, she's was attractive but so were most of the people in this stupid school. She managed to get class B to listen to her so she has to be good with people or atleast fake it way better than he is. She gives off this era of someone with little he can relate too, just based on what he saw her do to that copycat loser with an inferiority complex.
.
He shakes his head furiously before giving a low snarl. No distractions, he turned away from her and began doing some basic stretches; hoping that would get his thoughts together. "Yo, Bakugou!" She shouted.
So much for that.
"What man hands -" For the second time in the last ten minutes he is cut off by her. This time it's her throwing a water bottle in his direction, which he catches a bit more haphazardly. Again, the need for Bakugou to hit the person who is making a fool out of him rose.
Throwing her bag over her shoulder, Kendou turns her attention to her fellow student. "I imagine you're gonna be here longer than me, and I bought a spare you could use it, call it an apology."
Confusion flashed on the boy's face before returning to that of a stagnant resting face. "Didn't you already apologize."
"Yeah, but I like to feel helpful, it's why they call me big sis back in class B." She remarks before sending another smile his way. Bakugou gives her another look over when he finally notices something. "That said, don't over do it but remember to go plus u-"
"Rematch."
"What?"
He marches over to Kendou and snatches the bag off her shoulder. He opens it back up and yank's out a white and fairly used karate gi as well as black belt. "I knew something didn't sit right with me. You know Karate don't you."
Itsuka couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at Bakugou, whose fiery gaze she could feel burn a hole through her head. "Yeah,I'm a black belt at karate and judo. Why are you asking?"
"I was gonna just let you walk out of here, but something didn't sit right with me. Then i saw this stupid gi sticking out your damn bag. Then I realized why I wasn't feeling right, because your dumbass flipped me and got the jump on should I let someone whose quirk was so lame it couldn't even get in them in class A have an advantage over me." He forced the gi and black belt back into the bag and assertively tossed it at her. "Rematch."
Kendo grabbed the bag, mind you the force of the impact made her take a step back or two but still she managed to stay standing. "So you want me to beat you again?" She asked only to jump in shock at an explosion coming her way.
Or at least it seemed that way as it just missed her and hit one of the various objects in the gym. "You didn't beat me, you surprised it right reject." He grabbed her by the wrist and dragged to the middle of the gym. Much to Kendou chagrin as she tried to free her wrist from the boy's ironclad grip. "Right here in the middle of this gym. No quirks or anything, I beat you and go about my training. And you can go back to your class of losers, got it?"
Itsuka didn't respond just slowly remembering the events that just transpired. She was sure that Bakugou was stronger than her, his grip more than solidified that idea to her. Not to mention he definitely had the stronger quirk, she was more skilled than him but that didn't mean he didn't have any skill. From what she saw from the sports festival and the joint training they did a little bit ago he's more able to handle his own. That said she was sure in a no quirk battle she would be able to take him down.
"Are you sure about this? I think it would be more even if we both used our -"
"I don't need my quirk to beat you, so fight me!" He shouts before rushing with a quick right hook in an attempt to catch Kendou off guard. Which didn't work, as she easily dodges the hook and lifts him the air before dropping him.
He lost.
Looking over his body, Kendou flashes him a cocky smile "Yeah maybe don't yell before you attack someone."
A new emotion flushed across Bakugou's face, one that he wasn't used to making. He swore his face felt warmer? He tried to relax his factual features, get his bearings under control but he couldn't. Her condescending smile staring back at him, mocking him, taunting him. "Again." He hissed through gritted teeth.
"You sure you wanna go again man?" Kendou questions once again extending a hand to Bakugou. Which he instantly rejects.
"I said again, man hands."
"You sure about that?"
"Did i fucking stutter."
Itsuka lights out a sigh before stepping back to allow her fellow student to once again rise to his fight. She probably shouldn't be too surprised by Bakugou's actions from the very few interactions the two have had, she always got this feeling that he was prideful to a fault. "I should probably just throw the next match." was a thought that crossed her mind before she shook the thought away. He would probably know if she threw the match and really as she looked over at the insanely powerful young hero before her. She didn't want to lose either, she had her own pride to think of as well.
"You ready?"
"Let's do it."
This time just like the last, Bakugou rushes towards her with his right arm raised as if he's going for another right hook. Kendou raises her right arm in preparation for a counter, only for Katsuki to fake her out and roll behind her. Kendou does a quick turnaround and looks to her feet, just to barely dodge a quick uppercut from the top student in class 1-A. Stumbling backwards a bit and losing her footing, bakugou rushes towards her with a barrage of strikes which the girl is barely able to dodge.
Deciding it time to go on the offensive, Kendou blocks a left jab with her right forearm and throws a left jab of her own. Bakugou dodges the jab and then quickly locks her left arm by crushing it between his right arm and his torso."Gotcha!" The teen remarks cockily smiling at the class rep. The tangerine haired girl doesn't seem too worried, as she quickly rotates her body so that her back is to his chest and her now locked arm is wrapped around her neck. She moves her right foot behind his and Bakugou's eyes shot from those filled with confidence to ones filled with shock; as Kendou uses his own weight intandem with her own to throw him over her back and straight to the floor. Her arm now free and Bakugou laying down on his back facing the ceiling.
"You're a really smart fighter, Bakugou. Like you adapt at near superhuman speed it's insane!" Kendou praises "But you don't have any real form to it, it's a lot of throwing punches, but your fighting style is really fitted with your quirk so I guess that makes sense." Itsuka looks over at Bakugou in an attempt to get a response from him. What she says is a broken man looking directly at the ceiling barely breathing. "Anyway I really gotta get going, I promised Tetsu and Pony I would help them study for Mic's test next Tuesday." She carefully stepped over him and made her way to gather stuff.
Once gathered she hurried towards the door of the gym, before she took a look and sighed "Hey Bakugou, i'll be happy to give you a rematch whenever.I'll even teach you some moves!" She yelled before running out of the gym and leaving Bakugou to his thoughts.
What the hell.
Laying on the floor still looking up at the lights up in the ceiling. Something within the boy is bubbling and it's not a feeling of anger or frustration. It's a feeling he's not quite sure he's felt before,it's an odd feeling he just can't place. He does some training but his head isn't all the way there. He makes his way back to the dorms slowly and goes through the motions, ignoring the calls from Kirishima and Kaminari. He goes into his room, falls onto the bed and just stares at the ceiling. One thought going through his head.
What the hell.
