I hated demigod dreams.

I knew they were useful, they'd even helped save lives during the Titan War, but experiencing a demigod dream was almost never pleasant, and this wasn't an exception.

I was watching myself, except I'd never done the things I was seeing. In one, I was in a city alleyway with two people I didn't recognize. I was obviously on a quest, but that was all I could tell, as a tremor ran through the ground, moving one of two vials I hadn't seen until now. The man - if I could call him that - shouted in triumph before downing said bottle as I drank the other. My two quest mates stared at me in horror as me and the other man stared at each other, my face blank to his confidence, before he started to shake, horror overtaking his face. As I stood from the bench, he fell off, and my quest mates changed their horror to the man, as the dream faded away.

Someone had chosen me over that man, and I had gambled for it, a move so reckless I was confident the dreams were truly of me. I wondered if it was the future, but before I could ponder more another dream came to me, this time I was somewhere dark and foggy, and my eyes widened as they adjusted, recognizing both me and Annabeth, but there was something wrong.

Something deeply wrong.

To start off, we both looked dead, like what you might imagine a zombie looked like. But even beyond that, we looked like we had been through hell, Annabeth favoring one of her legs and exhaustion permeating our bodies. Whoever it was that stood in front of us looked far worse, misery throughout her entire being with tears streaming down her face.

And she had Annabeth.

Fear and anger coursed through my body as I screamed, knowing I couldn't doing anything in the state that I was, something began to leak out of the lady, steaming across the surface. She was cackling now, reveling in the pain she was causing, before tensing, pain entering her features.

Confused, I looked back to myself only to see my left arm up, clenched and directing something. Looking back, I could now see the liquid that had seeped out of the woman going up her body, started to choke and drown her. I could only stare in shock as she began thrashing, desperation running through her entire body.

Before the dream could finish, it disappeared, what felt like lightning shocking through my entire system as words coursed through my entire being filled with pain and purpose.

Wake Up!

Everything became muffled, the dreams I'd had and the dreams to come flashing by, glimpses into a life I hadn't yet had, before fading away, and one last jolt ran through my body before -

WAKE UP!
