"Master?" Monaa inquired.
"Yes?" Master Fu smiled.
"Do you mind if I go out for a bit? I need some fresh air."
"Very well. But don't let anyone see you!" he chuckled, opening the window. "Be back by five."
"Oh yeah. Don't worry, I will." She grinned, grabbing her miraculous, the parrot belt."
"Now, all I need is to wait for an akumatised villain to show up, and—" suddenly, a distant scream echoed.
"Too easy." She grinned, flying towards the scream.
The villain was Reflekta, who had the power of making people look like her.
Monaa flew towards her, and hovering by her ear, whispered:
"Hawk moth? Can you hear me? I am a kwami. I need to speak to you."
Hawk moth jumped backwards in surprise. "A… kwami! Another kwami!?"
"Yes, another kwami. Now hurry up and get here so I can speak to you!" she grunted.
Hawk moth smiled. "That means that there is another—"
"Yes, another miraculous. There's a whole box of 'em, Hawk face. Hurry up!" she spat.
A few minutes later, and Hawk Moth was at a secret-ish location.
"Hello." A voice came.
"Who are you?"
"A kwami."
"And what do you want?" Monaa saw him tighten his grip on his cane.
"You're about to grab my miraculous if I fly off. Chill, Hawk dude. I wanna be on your side.
Hawk Moth loosened his grip on his cane. "Why?"
"Ok, basically, I'm tired of the same thin' every time. You send a villain, Ladybug and Cat boy defeat 'em, then repeat. I'm bored of this. I want things to go back to how they were."
"Which is…?" Hawk moth inquired.
"Kwamis not being bonded to a miraculous. Kwamis being separate and free. Kwamis getting' ter' roam around freely. Making a wish will also separate kwamis from miraculouses. And you wanna make a wish. And after the wish is made, 'tever tis', it'll benefit me 'cos I won't be attached to a dang miraculous!" she huffed.
Hawk Moth smiled. "And the catch?"
"Nothing. Hawk man, I've been serving countless holders for centuries. Cave humans, as you call 'em, Romans, medieval times, everythin'. I served Boudica, fierce celt warrior attempt to rid the world of Roman tyranny. I helped fight in wars yerve' never heard of. As much as I wanta help yer', I've known humans to stab you in the back."
"I won't."
"Maybe. Nobody really does know the truth about Viking princess Hilda. She was actually a traitor. I only chose her as my holder because she seemed nice and promised to treat me like royalty. But obviously, she was a backstabber like almost everyone else. Was actually tryna rule the world. I've tended to realise that the bad miraculous holders don't respect kwamis, and are horrid to 'em. And the good holders are stupid and annoying and think they can make the world into some sorta lovely happyland. Either one ain't good."
"I will treat you like royalty." (Emphasis on the "I")
"Ah, y'see, that's what Astrid said. Same with the orphan boy. Same with— OH, I could give a million names. When you give humans what they want, they turn on you. Like the pharaoh that I loyally helped, who just one day decided that I didn't have feelings. I don't like being locked up in an iron cage for three hundred and sixty kwami years. Which is WAYYY more in human years. I don't like how the—"
"Okay, okay, I get it!" Hawk moth exploded.
Monaa glared. "You're not exactly that nice, are you?"
"Yes, yes, sorry. I will treat you like royalty. I will give you everything and anything you want if you give me your miraculous and help me."
"Hm… fine. But I am a very powerful kwami. If you backstab me, or betray me, well, let's just say you'd rather face everything I've faced for a gazillion years." She replied nonchalantly. "Parrot belt, power of hallucinations, just say Monaa, wings of colour, blah blah blah, blah blah blah." She sighed.
"Thank you." He grinned, grabbing the belt.
AN: Well? What do you think? Will Hawk moth be true to his word? Or treat Monaa how he treats Nooroo? And speaking of Nooroo… Well, you'll see.
